What this part covers

machinesummary, machine-written

The verse 'I will give you death' and Jesus's words in 5:117 that he does not know what his people did after he was taken show, in Mufti Abu Layth's reading, that Jesus died; the Prophet himself, in a Bukhari report, applies the same verse to his own absence from his companions, confirming the reading.

In more detail

Mufti Abu Layth says the ten or eleven blessings listed in al-Ma'idah 110 do not include a second coming, although it would be among the greatest blessings if Jesus were to accomplish world peace. He then cites the verse in which Allah says he will give Jesus death [?], noting that Ibn Abbas and many others said Jesus died, against Qadhi's claim that only one person said so. He calls 5:117-118 probably the clearest verses: on the Day of Judgement Allah asks Jesus whether he told people to take him and his mother as lords, and Jesus answers that he only said what he was commanded, that he was a witness over them while he was among them, and that once Allah took him Allah was the watcher over them, so Jesus does not know what his people did after him. Mufti says this seals the question, and adds what he calls the Prophet's own tafsir of the verse: a hadith in Bukhari in which the Prophet says people will be raised naked, that some of his companions will be turned away and he will be told they turned bad after him, and that he will then say what the righteous slave Jesus said, quoting this verse. Since nobody expects the Prophet to come back, he says, the Prophet understood the verse as describing Jesus's death and a like-for-like position for himself. He then turns to the hadith Qadhi calls untouchable, noting that Qadhi spent a day and a half on research and that he spent rather longer.

Mufti Abu Layth holds that the verse 'I will give you death' and the dialogue of 5:116-118, in which Jesus says he does not know what his people did after he was taken, show that Jesus died and will not return, and that the Prophet's own use of the verse in a Bukhari report about his companions turning bad after him confirms this reading.

now then there's this verse allah says 110 remember my blessings upon you when i did all of these things for you now note in these 10 things that allah quotes or if you count them as 11 if you separate some of them allah does not mention a second coming even though that would be one of the greatest blessings ever since jesus is about to accomplish world peace which no being in history has ever achieved and this verse where allah says that

1:30:52

i will give you death now note that this counts against the second coming because jesus has died in nimo tawafika ibn abbasid mentioned jesus died mentions it so many people mention it him yes saying only one person had mentioned this

1:31:21

right now this verse is very clear this is probably one of the clearest verses in the quran which goes from 117 to 118 where allah is addressing jesus on the day of judgment this goes to show there is no second coming allah says to jesus that did you tell them to worship you take you and your mother as lords and jesus says

1:31:50

i only told them what you commanded me and i was only i was a witness over them as long as i was there but when you took me you know what happened to them notice here jesus doesn't even know what's happened jesus is claiming i don't even know you know when i was there i told him to do this but since you took me you know you to faith and you gave me death you are the one who watches over them i don't know what they've been up to now here this verse if anything

1:32:29

sealed not only it really seals the deal on is there going to be a second coming and i'll tell you what makes it what nails that in further there is a hadith in sahil bukhari because one could ask but what does this verse mean who how if only we could know what the prophet thought this verse meant what is the prophets of seed of this verse that is that would be amazing wouldn't if we could get the prophet's interpretation now

1:33:06

note that here this is a hadith in bukhari the prophet says that on the day of judgment people will be raised naked and and goes on describing them and then the prophet mentions that some of his companions will be turned away from him and he says ashabi and and he will be told that for you

1:33:41

the prophet will be told now this is in bukhari the prophet will be told that these people after you don't know but they turn bad after you okay now this is hadith in bukhari now the prophet then says i will be like jesus on that day i will read this verse now here the prophet is giving his understanding of this verse that i will on the day of judgment be like how jesus said that well i only knew about them as long

1:34:21

as i was there but once you gave me death you watch over them note that here we don't expect the prophet to come back how do you expect jesus the prophet is describing himself like for like with jesus and this is how the prophet understood this verse that is the biggest thing the prophet understood this verse according to bukhari as saying that this that jesus had died because he is saying that oh what about my companions and he's being told well after you they turn bad and you don't know about him he's saying ah okay well in that case i'm like jesus

1:35:01

who didn't know what happened after him because of this verse that really seals the deal so now here what big d does is he mentioned certain hadith he says these hadith are untouchable

1:35:32

[Laughter] you see see what he doesn't anticipate he doesn't anticipate the research you know the research so big eddie said he spent a day and a half doing research meridian we spent a bit longer than that right so let's take a look at this first hadith now he says the hadith in the
