What this part covers

machinesummary, machine-written

'I will give you death' and Jesus's words at the Judgement show that he died, and the Prophet applied those words to himself in a Bukhari report, which settles the reading.

In more detail

Mufti Abu Layth says that among the ten or eleven blessings Allah lists for Jesus in al-Ma'idah 110 there is no second coming, although it would be among the greatest if Jesus were to bring world peace. He cites the verse in which Allah says 'I will give you death', noting that Ibn Abbas said Jesus died and that al-Razi and many others mention it, against Qadhi's claim that only one person said so. He calls the dialogue of al-Ma'idah 116-118 probably the clearest: on the Day of Judgement Allah asks Jesus whether he told people to take him and his mother as lords, and Jesus says he was a witness over them while he was among them, but when Allah took him, Allah was the watcher over them, so that Jesus does not know what happened after him. He says a hadith in Sahih al-Bukhari seals the deal: the Prophet describes some of his companions being turned away from him on the Day of Judgement because they turned bad after him, and says he will speak as Jesus did, reciting this verse, which shows the Prophet understood it to mean that Jesus had died.

Mufti Abu Layth says the Prophet's use of Jesus's words 'when you took me' for himself, in a report in Bukhari, shows that he understood the verse to mean Jesus had died.

In his words

“according to bukhari as saying that this that jesus had died because he is saying that oh what about my companions”

that but jesus will accomplish it why then is jesus not here mathelan libani adam why is he not a muscle for entire humanity why for bani israel he is going to go on to achieve what even the prophet cannot achieve according to this claim so now then there's this verse allah says ya isabna maryam in almighty 110 remember my blessings upon you when i

2:33:58

did all of these things for you now note in these 10 things that allah quotes or if you count them as 11 if you separate some of them allah does not mention a second coming even though that would be one of the greatest blessings ever since jesus is about to accomplish world peace which no being in history has ever achieved and this verse where allah says that i will give you death now note that this counts against the second coming because jesus has died in nemo to waffika ibn abbas said

2:34:37

about this mentioned jesus died arazi mentions so many people mention it him yes saying only one person had mentioned this all right now this verse is very clear this is probably one of the clearest verses in the quran sura which goes from 117 to 118 where allah is addressing jesus on the day of judgment this goes to show there is no second

2:35:15

coming allah says to jesus that did you tell them to worship you take you and your mother as lords and jesus says and i was only i was a witness over them as long as i was there but when you took me you know what happened to them you

2:35:43

notice here jesus doesn't even know what's happened jesus is claiming i don't even know you know when i was there i told him to do this but since you took me you know you to what faith you gave me death you are the one who watches over them i don't know what they've been up to now here this verse if anything sealed not only really seals the deal on is there going to be a second coming and i'll tell you what makes it what nails that in further there is a hadith in sahil bukhari because one could ask but what does this

2:36:22

verse mean who how if only we could know what the prophet thought this verse meant what is the prophets of seed of this verse that is that would be amazing wouldn't if we could get the prophet's interpretation now note that here this is a hadith in bukhari the prophet says that on the day of judgment people will be raised naked and and goes on describing them and then the prophet mentions that some

2:37:00

of his companions will be turned away from him and he says and he will be told that for you the prophet will be told now this is in bukhari the prophet will be told that these people after you don't know but they turn bad after you okay now this is hadith now the prophet then says i will be like jesus on that day i will read this verse that wakunto

2:37:40

alaim shahidan madum tufi him falammatawafaitani kunta now here the prophet is giving his understanding of this verse that i will on the day of judgment be like how jesus said that well i only knew about them as long as i was there but once you gave me death you watch over them note that here we don't expect the prophet to come back how do you expect jesus the prophet is describing himself like for like with jesus and this is how the prophet understood this verse that is the biggest thing the prophet understood this verse

2:38:20

according to bukhari as saying that this that jesus had died because he is saying that oh what about my companions and he's being told well after you they turn bad and you don't know about him he's saying ah okay well in that case i'm like jesus who didn't know what happened after him because of this verse that really seals the deal so

2:38:54
