What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenA hadith is accepted only if it does not contradict reason, the Quran and established Sunnah, or uproot a principle of Islam; the Jesus reports fail this test, and even Ibn Uthaymin rejected a sahih Dajjal report on such grounds.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth sets out what he says Ibn Hazm, Imam Malik, Abu Hanifa, Ibn al-Jawzi and others taught in their works on hadith: a report of the Prophet is accepted so long as it does not go against reason, does not contradict the established sources, the Quran and established Sunnah, and does not uproot a principle of Islam. He says hadith in which Jesus forces people to become Muslim, in which there is no more faith on earth, or in which Jesus rules over Jew and Gentile, a Biblical phrase, fail these tests, and that this realism with hadith was the way of Malik and Abu Hanifa though not of al-Shafi'i or the Salafis; he calls people to the Quran and Sunnah, not to any one methodology. He adds that Ibn Uthaymin, the leading Salafi, rejected the Sahih Muslim hadith of the Dajjal living on an island with the Jassasa, saying he had a problem accepting it regardless of its chain and that it was from the Israiliyyat, as Rashid Rida had said before him. He then asks how all these hadith could have crept into Islam and warns listeners to strap in, since some will be scared.
Position stated
Mufti Abu Layth holds that a hadith is accepted only if it does not go against reason, does not contradict the Quran and established Sunnah, and does not uproot a principle of Islam, and that the hadith of Jesus's return fail these tests.
“when you start getting hadith that say Jesus will force people to become Muslim that's not acceptable that goes up roots it goes against the Quran the Sunna and the principles of Islam”

don't call it at a mere I look today or I know maybe the Sufis these people do but the other Salafis won't they will say all right so now this is important now I'm coming to this point about hadith because but I will come to the point am i erasing people's trust from hadith I'm not I'm not erased I am calling you to the Sunnah of the Prophet I'm giving you a more realistic picture of Hadi hadith are important people they are important but they must always measure up to these three things you must always measure up to what even has erm what
imam malik to abu hanifa to even a hasn't to ignore Josey to all these people taught in their books of hadith the hadith of the Prophet lemmie we accept them as long as lamu by Anil ma-kun it cannot go against reason love you Holly Phil am unholy cannot go against the established sources the Quran and the established Sunnah oh I love you naka de la Sol it cannot uproot any principle of Islam so when you start getting hadith that say Jesus will force people to become Muslim that's not acceptable that goes up roots it goes against the Quran the Sunna and the
principles of Islam it's a problem the whole thing is a problem when you start getting hadith saying there will be no more faith on this dunya it's a problem when you start getting hadith saying Jesus will rule over Jew and Gentile which is a verse from the Bible problem so yes we need to be more realistic with hadith this is how in my malik was this is our imam abu hanifa was this i accept it's not the shaffer away i accept it's not the Salafi way but I'm not calling upon their methodology I'm calling you to the Quran and the Sunnah the or an and the Sun man okay so this is
what is important now so wait look now people will say I mentioned the example that ignite a mere rejecting that hadith the hadith of the jail by the way living on the island with Josiah and Tammy Madurai which is inside Muslim was they mean the leading Salafi rejected that hadith he said I don't care if it says that the Prophet said this but I can't accept if he enough semen who shake I have a problem accepting this hadith and they said to him do you know anybody other than Rashid Rida who rejected that the shekel as a Rashid Rida who rejected this hadith he said look I don't follow them I just have a problem accepting this hadith it doesn't make any sense
now he said I feel this is from the Israel yet look people when you say that when you say how is this possible that all these hadith crept in in Islam how is it possible that all these hadith crept in look listen to me but for a moment you're gonna have to hold on strap in with your Iman right because some people are gonna get scared they're gonna get scared and I understand that and this is why people are reacting to this thing about Jesus by the way it's not because they're so caught up on the second coming of Jesus
