What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenThe khutbah's three points are that reinterpreting the Quran through reason or science is heresy, that doubting the hadith sources is heresy, and that a radical new interpretation amounts to claiming prophethood. Mufti Abu Layth agrees that rejecting hadith wholesale is wrong but says the hadith quoted for it is weak and that hadith is khabar ahad, not certain knowledge.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth sets out the three points of the khutbah, saying he will steel-man them before dismantling them. The first, as he reports it, is that it is unacceptable to reconcile the modern world with the Quran by reinterpreting verses through reason or science, which Qadhi calls scientism and labels unorthodox, heretical and misguidance, with examples Mufti believes allude to his own discussions: the birds of Ibrahim, Ibrahim and the fire, the birth of Jesus and evolution. The second is that those who reject hadith altogether are misguided, for which Qadhi quoted the hadith of al-Irbad ibn Sariya from Abu Dawud; Mufti says he agrees that rejecting hadith wholesale is wrong, but was surprised that the hadith quoted to prove it is a known weak report. Qadhi's stronger charge, that creating doubt in the sources such as Bukhari is heresy, Mufti takes as a reference to his BukhariGate series; to Qadhi's claim that as an expert anyone who studies hadith knows there can be no doubt in it, Mufti replies that the first thing hadith students learn is that hadith is khabar ahad, not certain knowledge but good enough, and notes that Qadhi has not accepted his invitation to a dialogue on BukhariGate. The third point is that any new radical interpretation is heresy and that its author is in essence, even if not verbally, claiming to be a new prophet, which Mufti calls quite a leap.
Position stated
Mufti Abu Layth says he agrees that rejecting hadith altogether is misguided, but that the hadith quoted to prove it is weak and that hadith are khabar ahad, which is not certain knowledge but good enough to act on.
“he quotes a hadith which are surprised actually because the hadith he quoted was weak it's in Abu Dawood”

and that is whoever you meet leave them heartbroken kiss say is harem with jockey cheer up Milton in a khaki G what you know what can we do you don't that's the words of Joe Neely aside right so share here sir Adi in this video he highlights the importance of our orthodoxy and it brings up three key issues three key points the first one and I will go through these in some detail is that it is
unacceptable he feels to resort to reason or is condemning those people who wish to reconcile or reinterpret I'm going to try to strong man and steel man these arguments really so and then dismantle them so so I can be fair and objective okay so he says it's on it's unacceptable for those people who wish to reconcile the modern world with the Quran by reinterpreting some of these
verses and resorting to reason or to science in order to do so so he highlights this and he gives examples by the way and I'll go through these like he says for example the miracles in the Quran and this is why I think it was definitely alluding to me about some of the discussions I'd had about the birds he mentions the birds and ibrahim alaih-is-salaam he mentions I think Ibrahim Ali Solomon the fire he mentions the birth of Jesus and evolution and these things and he says you can't reconcile using reason and he refers to this as scientism
almost a belief in the supremacy of science and he says and that is unorthodox it is heretical it is deviant it is it's it's it's basically utterly unacceptable and it is misguidance okay his second point is hadith rejection he said and these people who reject hadith this point he addresses the Quran you know so I think that wasn't aimed at me but he does he then
brings in a sub factor he says those people who reject hadith all together a completely misguided and so on and he he quotes a hadith which are surprised actually because the hadith he quoted was weak it's in Abu Dawood airBaltic necesarias hadith and it's a known weak hadith so I was quite surprised he resorted to that hadith but nevertheless but I agree with him on this point of saying rejecting hadith the irony goddess I concur how are you trying to prove her these by using wicked Eve you're kind of kind of
doing the team over here I'm with you yeah on this point so and he and then he says but there's a stronger element and that is creating doubt in the sources like doubting Buhari and doubting these things and I think this once again was referring to my recent mihari gate issue and he says well you know oh I think you know this is he says he's an expert on
this and he specialized his expertise is in hadith and anybody who studied hadith knows they can be no doubt in hadith I don't I just don't know how those two followed but allegedly they must be teaching something else in Medina University because anybody who studies hadith the first thing you realize is it's actually huh bro I had that's the first thing they teach you which means it's not actually certain knowledge it's just good enough so I don't know how
that part works out but anyway he share here so godly was definitely certain that this is anybody who studied hadith knows that it is certain and he is an expert on this matter that said I've invited him for a dialogue on Hari Gate to which he doesn't hasn't accepted right so right his third point is any new radical uses the term radical repeatedly any new radical interpretations are definitely heresies and deviations and he then goes on to
some that to say anybody coming up with radical reinterpretations is in essence or albeit you know not verbally but you know even if it's not through vocal expression but the person is ultimately claiming to be a new prophet of God so he says that those stand hand in hand so if a person is radically reinterpreting things he whether he expresses this openly or not he claims to be a new prophet of God once again I don't know
what they were teaching in Medina University because that is quite a leap [Laughter] the otic inch deity we gave you an enchilada torta yeah what have you what spine have you shoved in here I can't seem to figure out man this is this one not nicely so enjoy yourself so but anyway these are the three key points that shared
yourself I love called the has stated now there are countless contradictions in what he said as well and I'll go through some of these by the way those of you just tuning in I can see a few people are tuning in if you if you do like and share this so we can get I'd like as many people as possible this message to reach them about this video of Chef Yasir Qadhi and the response and the response to his objections and criticisms so chef yes sir does go on to say in in the same
