something Haram so even if the words are talking or sexual or they're talking about things like fighting or things like that that does not make something Haram I understand you may not want to listen to it or you may not want your children to listen to it but God hasn't declared it haha so there's a big difference here so he says let me you see the dangers of following people with no knowledge the
Muftis in our day and age have no knowledge brothers they declare everything they just follow the whims and desires the prophet salallahu alayhi wasalam said that music is haram in fact there is a hadith he said that there is a hadith that music that singing brings hypocrisy in the heart brings hypocrisy in the heart and the way water gives rise to vegetation Allah let me let me
pause him me pause welcome back rocky exorcist g first of all let me quote this hadith to you in arabic Alvina young 'but only [ __ ] come on young bittleman bubbles bye-bye fatties is this hadith has been transmitted he quoted from a promise owed it's being
transmitted from ignores owed to the Prophet by five narrations five chains and it stops with ignore most of on three different chains it has been brought in the books of people like if not be dunya my daily me but very happy in a Buddhahood in Hakim every single chain is criticized as weak Mucca Mucca it is every chain is Milan there isn't a single sahi hadith that you can bring in this pub Allah at least bring me a sahi hadith you're a selfie for God's sake
I'll quit wait he says I quote just random opinions is it let me see one moment one on momento por favor its parent miss Perriman just let me see let me see people write all these hadith this is a man choked a knee right in his nail or thought who is a great Mahadev a great scholar after bringing all the
hadith on music what God a gerbil mucho bassoon and those who said it's permissible music is unhappy animal cut the Alpha hajima I don't mean Azaria all Mauna Kea will Hannibal was Scheffer yeah he says but many people said many of the great scholars have declared all these hadith to be weak Allah rocket Academy makalah who even has him and he's brought the comments of even handsome wafak ala alika abu bakr if no are beefy kitabi he Allah calm and the dawn Maliki
bandulus right Abubakar Al Arabi the legendary judge from Muslim Spain has said let me a selfie Terry me shape there isn't a single hadith that is sahi in the prohibition of music he says because I leaked a total of a soil Missouri woman ah who fell under and has early work natal here and the great Mahad this hip Natalia right the great Mahad this right who set about what we call today as he has it and stuff like in who Lamia same in her - why not a
single letter from these a hadith Asahi one Murad obviously and we're talking about hadith going back to the messenger of allah otherwise nobody is an authority except God and His Messenger on matters of religion right so you bring to me what a line is messenger I have said in clear conclusive unbroken unblemished non blemished chains as I need and I will accept what you're saying it not hasn't says in whom low as Nadal hadith and why hidden if they
brought even one hadith on the prohibition of music for hawala very Rasul Allah they can only bring it to other than the prophet of God not to the prophet of God and he says well I heard Jaffee I had in tuna let me quote another Don Maliki al-fatiha knee whose commentary I have here by the way on right but it's all whose commentary has been brought into print and I'm waiting for his commentary on the result of ignorance a din Maliki fake to be brought out as well soon now far kahani says Lam alum I do not know fee Khattab Allah he will have his
Sunnah hadith in sahih and sorry Anthea her email Mela he I do not know a single clear hadith or wording in the Book of Allah or The Messenger of Allah his words that show that music um people people people people right now let me show some people by the way that have argued in its defense of things like music a mammal haramein says in his knee hyah
what not be done that be not like it but that they say from people have reported Abdul lightness obeyed the great sahabi he would have many kind of he would own many kind of singing and dancing girls that would sing and dance for him now alpha Roger us behind transmits from Hassan Abner Hassan apna sahabat that he would listen to music at four we transmits the Omer Abner Abdel Aziz this is show candy bringing this by the way the great Mahad is the omen
Abdul Aziz can a yes ma'am in jeopardy he cobbler Khalifa before he became the hail if he quotes by the way this person quotes American Abdul Aziz in his thing refutation against me look before he became Katy used to listen to music if NASA mommy says that Tahu's the great turbine student of it not bad so that has fine big no kotoba soluble inter I'm sorry bill Intel and the Cody of Medina the great kadhi of Medina from the tavern inside it may brahim would would would say that music is permissible rouhani from the Sharia transmits from
afar that the method above imam malik is a baja Talihina a bill massive is that music and musical instruments and singing is permissible he says that a file transmits that from the Maliki method al Asad Abu Mansoor al Zahrani transmitted from Imam Malik as well abu talib al Mackey in his cultural Club and Shobha 'innahu that he would announce Emmy Attenborough and musical instruments Phoebe Tillman jalapeno a morality tale measuring the great Mahadev I'm REE Drummond howl in his sermon Haledon honor in his house he would listen he could hear musical instruments being
played about father Laban a paw here in his book on the permissibility of music shows that that there was no dispute between the people of Medina that flutes and musical instruments were permissible and then if Natasha says this is what the law here unanimously went to and after we say Islamist elephant knuckle famous battle mark that nobody is there is no dispute about the great khadi of Medina before Imam Malik right Sardegna Brahim the great coffee from the table in Ibrahim if Mossad and him listening
to music and saying it's permissible there's no dispute about that right so these are some things I bring to you people some things Allahu Akbar so look when you want to refute me by all means refute me but at least bring the sahih hadith the only you could have brought stronger hadith than the one you brought the one you brought in El Elena young bitten me [ __ ] my young [ __ ] old man and buckle in Abu Daoud and ask him and a lamian upon my malice behind me and in a very happy and these books these are
incredibly weak a Chinese look dire for me to correct the Salafi on on hadith not being sorry it doesn't not nice you know this one no nice that helps is music Haram no look at
that okay so what a question that must all right so it's music Haram okay what am i sensing already in this crowd clearly Haram yes take out the violin industry right so the thing is I've answered this previously and I gave a whole kind of a kind of Annex went into in see this is the issue when you go into something so then you think oh I
don't want to just bore the hell out of everyone and there is a difference of opinion on these things okay to start off with in my understanding I think music so miserable is not forbidden there's nothing in Islam that is both conclusive sahi and sorry which states music to be Haram there are plenty of a hadith but they are either not sorry they are not all sorry or they're not conclusive in their wording there's a there's a leap of interpretation in them like the one in Bihari which says towards the end of time people will you know consider these things permissible
but then they translate that as music but the word doesn't actually say music it actually says entertainment but you seen that this the leave of interpretation going on and all the texts actually say music are not authentic so I've explained that okay what is the problem with things like music the problem with things like music is it's an uphill battle right because people you see before you approach religion you have this ontology of religion you have this understanding of I I saw I learned I don't mean it's like an academic opinion or an understanding it's
something we all have you already have an understanding of what religion with the capital r is going to provide for you or provide for people so let's say today [ __ ] comes then he wants to learn about Islam doesn't know anything about Islam or somebody wants to come about and learn about Christianity or the one to learn about anything don't know anything about the religion but they will already have expectations so they would already think okay there's gonna be worship involved they can already have certain concepts they're carrying about the word religion one of those
will definitely be like so they'll amongst them will be things like they believe suffering a part of it people believe sacrifice will be a part of religion people believe that and this is interesting they believe being anti world like kind of ascetic not of the worldly stuff Israel will be one of the concepts of religion this is without even being taught this you would really think this so they would think desires or anti religion without even being
taught that and in desires they would think and this is another one that entertainment is anti religion without even being taught that so now you don't even need a single text in Islam to tell you that music is Haram the fact that you carry that ontology of religion you would easily be so susceptible to that view because you carry this perspective that religion ought to ban it or to sorry you ought to be anti entertainment anti desires anti gratification anti
world aunty so when somebody shows you well actually religion isn't like that this is a what we call cognitive dissonance takes place it's difficult to reconcile them because that's not your understanding of what religion ought to be so this is why people will so easily always say music is Haram and struggle or with even the even when they given evidences of why it's okay
several scholars have said this beginning with from the time of the prophet you've got a hadith in third movie for example the Prophet is walking and somebody's playing a flute and the Prophet says with if not Omar and he puts his you know the Prophet didn't like the music and so he he put his you know it kind of block this thing and it says to Eve not a model of listen tell me when we can't hear it so then if Norma says okay we can't hear it a certain point now this in itself okay some people say oh look what the Prophet didn't like music but that's his personal think you don't like why would he tell somebody to do something forbidden why would he say listen you
listen to and tell me when it stops salted but then people like companions like Hypno's obeyed abdullah venus obeyed he had you know it's known about in fact what a very detailed bath a detail some recent research has been done on it by imam show connie in his name la thought he brings all the chains to do with all the narrations to prohibiting music he brings all the scholars that have said problem that music is permissible and he in the end demonstrated although i don't think he was too pro music himself but he says to be objective we must say that there is no clear text prohibiting music
he says there are all these texts which are highlighted but none of them are conclusive but he himself says look I don't really advise it but I'm just being honest with that with the literature no I don't think so I don't think so because I don't you see you know these policing people like that like I don't think that's like saying to people people say yeah but some kind of music swears in it some kind of music does this in it some kind of music is all about sex some kind of musics all about this yep I saw his poetry in the
time of the Prophet all of Arabic poetry what was it mainly about was about look [ __ ] him sex was it not an alcohol is well sorry no one and leave out the alcohol so and this was the same poetry that they used to sit in the prophet's mosque and it's inside of a hottie they say they spent the whole night with the Prophet reciting the poetry then in the end the Prophet all right now let's read some Quran that's inside body what poetry with a reading of you know dial a Yama I'm sorry not well from the mile apart and all these kind of things this this poetry's begins a moral case was deemed the legend poet of all time all his poetry is all about just having sex with
countless women and stuff like this this is what all these poetry's about so the thing is when you say oh it's about this this is wrong yeah but that's words I understand what you're saying but this is it first of all this is a different topic secondly but this was the in the time the brought in their poetry this was in all of them in fact you cannot become a scholar of Islam without that in that poetry today like we have to study them a la carte we have to study the ten major you know the darn old's that were written in in classical Arabic that actually attach to the Kaaba before of the you know or at least seven or ten the melodic arts of
the dawn poets and some of one of them okay did reach Islam but the but the thing is the others generally didn't they were priests lamb but they they poetry was always reigned supreme and even after Islam comes along what is their poetry still about okay they get some nice you know okay but there were just normal people doing normal things like they look the person what's his name so hated never Selma right he was one of the Simon myelopathy I look at is it's done by the way he's actually isn't so much about sex and stuff he's is actually more about wisdom and stuff like that and it is actually very
awesome he's a lot of wise things in the in sayings and on how to kind of handle the world but his son Caribe Naheed he comes to the prophet's mosque he comes to the prophet and he he was somebody who had previously insulted the Prophet and there was like you know people don't like him so he was worried about his life so he comes to the prophet's mosque and he sits on the member no it comes to prophet and then he removes his it kind of come covered and the prophecies of this is cap and he says look I've come in peace and stuff like that so the Prophet says fine and he says I'd like to read some poetry for you and he reads it and the Prophet actually gives him the member to sit on
and read it and what does it begin with you know where he says Barnett's Allah dhul fiqar belly on my mat poodle moti haiman raha Lemieux stomach Apollo that you know oh he's talking about his girlfriend so odd it begins all she's left me and my heart is all like this today I'm in prison you know like who's gonna open me from these kind of shackles from her and I've been so and then he just speaks about her for so long and then he starts praising and he says and we hear that there's a Messenger of God amongst us and and praises the Prophet and so on and so these things are part and parcel of poetry and language today some
cultures have very much like order poetry is something which is actually very kind of modest it's what in Arabic what we call what they call a laboratory it's like very kind of like it's like a pure non-asexual kind of like love so it doesn't speak so much about the sexuality and so it's more about the praise your beauty and things like all the poetry is mainly like that but Arabic poetry hell no it's I mean especially the classical poetry and right through the Muslim era in the ages and major poets of Islam and they were
all this open they're the ones who love apart from I know some people like obviously people don't say but the people don't study Arabic like that today and but anyway so so I don't agree on that I think people know what's right what's wrong I don't promote this kind of culture of this music of you know gang banging and killing and doing all these kind of drug dealing and no you know this kind of like culture of going about like shooting people and doing this and doing that and this culture I do not promote that and so the thing is but I think people are intelligent enough to make their own choices you don't need to say to people but people know what's right
they know what's wrong they look if they can talk about biote they can listen to it and they know this is wrong they know that's wrong so if that answers if that answers that but I don't think like to say so for example music is okay but all hip-hop music is Haram like I don't think that that's that that wouldn't make sense do taking that like music is to do with the music it's not to do with the words that's a separate matter
obviously if somebody's say it's Haram you see I did think that but I did think of giving that ruling but then I just remembered that I wasn't God you see this is the this is the audacity that we think we can change God's law because we think it's bad how about do you think God doesn't know his people so if God didn't make it Haram who are we to make it Haram Allah says what a typhoon really matters in for alternative
communicative harder halal Mahathir Haram tough Haruna I don't like it but you are attributing falsehood to God you're saying this is Haram he never said it's Haram no no I made it very clear that there is no single conclusive and clear hadith at all to probably there's plenty of hadith to say music is Haram but they're not authentic and this the authentic hadith which don't use the word music they use words like
entertainment so people then say oh boy entertainment he the Prophet met music but that's not what he said this isn't in turn I mean there's no two ways about that that isn't inter way how about a strip club how about clubs nightclubs how about places like how the entertainment could be many fun so I mean why does entertainment have to be music no I never said that you asked me does God declare music Haram I said in my reading God does not do that
he said that to you then okay has you tell me has God made it her own music harem no I never asked you what you think I said has God made it I never asked you what you think I think has God made it huh not Scully's has God clearly made it hot fair enough case case closed that what we're saying is God didn't make it Haram scholars through their judgment I accept many scholars have said it's Haram but I told you why they said that
they said it because you had an ontology of religion okay true all they said it because they feel it leads people to whatever mischeif which words so it's interpretation so it's an interpretation
okay don't listen to it I don't care what the big deal you know when people ask these questions I don't get the big deal because look if you don't like it don't do it it is allowed last time I checked unless if God sends me an update text message I'll tweet it but I mean till then right I'll just I'll wait on I'll wait on let me just check is there no updates up until yet come on I got
broadband now to say sorry what's that got to do with music so you're saying okay now there's a question now you see you're asking me is incitement your question is is speaking about alcohol Haram you're asking me this like so it is writing power lyrics about alcohol Haram and the answer is no it isn't because this was being read in the prophet's mosque in front of the Prophet and that's in Sahil Bihari
what happened to free will but maybe it's our understanding of enjoining and forbidding which is needs to be questioned yeah because maybe it's not like go around with the stick and bash people and and try to get forced you know what was the purpose of things yeah but it's not about trying to police but look yeah but you're saying this thought of saying look I think this leads to behavior therefore we should say God made it Haram well why should we say God when he didn't do it like why should I lie where
do I get the audacity from to lie on behalf of Allah like look people say I think this leads people to bad behavior our ago let's just say Allah made it he didn't know I never said like a classical fellas not they actually give their reasons and I told you their reasons are like like like I said their reasons may be that they said oh I accept this hadith whatever okay if it's weak or I accept whatever the end they've given their reasons but we don't have to blindly follow them do you blindly follow all the scholars so then why are you blindly following these but you're just saying look all the scholars
have said this first of all all the scholars haven't said that many challenged it criticized it like right from the time of the Prophet coming down so they didn't all say that secondly yes people may have said that but wait we don't blindly follow duty so let's look at the evidences show kami who is a man of hadith who is a scholar and a legend of hadith and very impartial he doesn't even like music he actually says in the end I don't even like music he says looking at all and he brings all the chains he says all about being fair none of these chains are authentic but he says I still don't I said I still don't encourage people to listen to music I
don't like it myself whatever but he says let's just be honest with the text let's not lie that was his point anyway I mean look if we don't like music don't listen to it I I'm not actually a big fan of music to be fair but we difficult to believe now after I've said all of that it's just I only listen to it when I'm just low on alcohol that's a joke
don't worry about the day of judgement inshallah the thing is you know I think this kind of card that Muslims this you know this kind of card that Muslims kind of throw a lot like you know on the day of judgment well first of all look let me tell you something as a human being can you understand like let's say now I'm having a conversation can you understand this comes I mean you can understand my conversation obviously but you can understand oh look oh this is a joke or this is this you can understand this year so do you think God is incapable handicapped [ __ ] lacks in Tahlequah obviously if we can understand
why can't God understand they say oh he's being sarcastic I was being sarcastic though oh well if you can understand sarcasm what God can't understand sarcasm so you can understand things he caught what God doesn't get irony God doesn't get metaphor I mean what like so we can get oh it's okay oh it's I get what you're talking about but God I don't know you know it's gonna that's a bit that's a very you're looking that denigrating Allah like you're treating him infantilizing you treating him like a little child like oh he doesn't a week ago obviously we're mature we can get this kind of stuff we know you're talking this is humor is funny but God
he couldn't get that of course he can so the thing is I think we need to this is where I said it's evaluating our own concepts it's how we picture you know people say we need to truly understand God I agree with them we need to do because our understanding of God is sometimes a bit it can it can it can up it can be updated this is updates out there so oh I don't know how much cool for our disbelief I brought myself into the know I'll just check if there's a text
message no no all good so far so this was not the way of the prophet salaallah salam secondly I wanted to add so that's something I just wanted to clarify secondly I wanted to add to that that Bash is that you right so the thing is I just wanted to add to that that I'd spoken previously about music in my Plymouth Q&A where I was asked I was spoken about in other Q&A as well but I was asked me that look music leads
people to Haram because it speaks and amplifies vices okay speaks of vices like things like you know shootings killings sex drugs alcohol although I don't think I don't know if music nowadays speak so much about alcohol but more about drugs you know that kind of lifestyle so therefore based on that you should say it's Haram so I responded by saying that look I that I don't have the authority to do that because Allah you
know and I kind of cracked a joke where I said oh yeah you know I did think about doing that but then I remembered you know I wasn't God so some people have asked some questions about this and I thought this is it's important to clarify that look first of all somebody said oh but you've already passed a judgement that's ironic you already passed a judgment that it's okay ah were you not aware you God then ha ha ha I thought well okay look the thing is I didn't pass the judgment okay you have
to understand my principles of how I understand law Islamic law Islamic guidance and how I pass what was and rulings the thing is in my understanding and this is the understanding I follow and this is what many aroma of the Maliki method of school of Medina amongst other methods as law said was the belief of imam malik and other people as well that by default everything is conclusively permissible Allah has ordained everything to be permissible he says in the Quran Oaxaca
lucuma fil ardi jamie rahn he created everything in the earth for you javi so we go and in the hadith which was transmitted by a bus in Abu Dawud that one Massacre Turan who and that which Allah was silent about it was mean hey Lena CN Allah was not forgetful for allah has overseen these things this you can have them so by default not just hey I think conclusively what we call in the Shelly our imam shot to be and other
people write about no sukhothai conclusive like muta water it doesn't have no doubt in it not like a hadith which is run me yeah normal hadith in cyber Hadees I'm Muslim is not cut ie it does not carry that strength in Islam it carries like a strong strength but it's not conclusive okay you have something but a you have the knee the knee can be strong than me is something which still it's it still has some room for doubt even if it's 2 percent even if it's 3 percent out of a hundred yes some room for doubt it has a small margin for error
conclusive cutter is no margin for error ok the way today you believe that China exists for example you've never been there but that's a conclusive thing to you it's not oh I've got 1% doubt that China may not exist it doesn't work like that ok so so this is conclusive and who has made this halal Allah has made halal so when I say old things are Holland I'm not making them hala Allah has already made them halal according to my understanding now you could say look I disagree with this principle you could
say according to me everything is Haram until proven otherwise that's your principal I think life would become unbearable because to move this cup all of a sudden you'd needed the lead you need evidence to sit down like this I need evidence to use Facebook or need evidence to use Facebook at a particular time I'd need evidence to do because everything is all of a sudden forbidden and less proven otherwise now I don't follow that Mufti curry I know masala and people mostly curry now resident in the US making waves over there so we did study together in Karachi right so just a little shout out
there the thing is look so my point is this is what I follow you can follow different principles you can say I believe everything is Haram if I'm gonna change a gear in the cards Haram unless I've got a Delisle to prove it fine that's your belief it's your faith it's what you wanna do it's not what I believe okay I believe that's absurd ridiculous but it's hey it's your life you don't have to answer to me so when you believe everything is permissible by default you need strong evidence to overturn it because on one hand you've got something conclusive so as the principal says in
Sharia alia teen liya Sewell in lobelia team when you have certainty it can only be removed by certainty now you'll start to understand why I consider a lot of things permissible because Allah has already made them permissible why don't I say they're Haram because I don't find the evidence to be at a level of certainty to remove that certainty this is my understanding of the Deen this is as transmitted by people like a barrage a lathe II from the great birth daddy Maliki's even a wise man dad and other people who transmit this through Imam Malik and the school of Medina and other methods as well adopt this so look you
can disagree with me but that's my understanding okay so just to clarify that secondly I want her thirdly I want to tackle the issue of this lyrics okay now somebody did say I was just looking if I had one of my texts here got the the devil herself enter she's coming back so right people that's my little one right so the thing is now Jojo look at these people they're not
I got it quickly well assalamualaikum if I didn't do that Coco Loco right now the thing is look so about lyrics so people said is this true
the lyrics the obscene lyrics have also been transmitted within Islam and the truth is sugar and sugar and people about the little one the devil's trust me if I was ever going to be convinced about possession it would be through them and especially the young one I wouldn't just believe it was any Jin I would believe it was the devil himself right so the thing is now coming back to this you see Muslim poetry has been is I
mean it's it is so God I mean what where do I start people it's got great stuff but it yes is full of themes about things like violence about things like alcohol about things like sex about things like women about warfare about tribalism it is full of this beginning from pre-islamic era right through to the Mahathir I mean you know those people who enter India Hylian and attained Islam whether it was after
the Prophet right through to the shore are the poets of the oh no II right and right through to the abbasid sharara right so the point is the show era of Islam they have transmitted so much poetry that is really no different from these kind of rap lyrics I mean it's I mean it's different but it's not it's very similar in essence so in their poems they begin by speaking about you know warfare a we battle this tribe we butchered them they fought us we've killed them ah
they couldn't stand the chance you should have seen our swords chopping them up you should have seen these as I cut through the crowds I mean how different is that to saying hey let we shot the people we gun them down and we shot how different is that it's not very different they speak endlessly about alcohol Muslim poetry is it's so rampant about alcohol people it's like look like from the Abbasid period like I will know us for example who is in his era the undisputed amongst the king of poetry in his time he is like at the top of Arabic
poetry in his era okay so when you're talking about a below us he is undisputed in Arabic poetry what is almost 70 percent of his poem or 60 to 70 percent of his poetry's about what alcohol okay and this is gonna be another shock so brace yourselves people brace brace what is the other like 20 maybe 20 percent twenty three twenty percent maybe twenty three if you depending on 60 to 70 what is another second largest chunk it's all about homosexuality okay and what's he's fighting that is true it's all about
homicide I would know ask his poetry is rampant about homosexuality non-stop and and what's the last bit okay about women so his poetry was non-stop about em is just about mainly about those things and then he's got some maybe some random poems in the his poetry is studied he is rated one of the top and best poets the early Muslims ever produced by the way so I will know us that's how rated years right so just to kind of clarify let's look at other people like you're going to say look at
the one on Hamas er okay the 1 Hamas ah by a boot Imam who kind of you know he once again somebody who compiles poetry from J Hilley tines right up until you know his time he's collecting poems what he thinks are some of the best and they include poems about I mean they they'll have good poems in there but poems about bravery poems about warfare poems about killing poems about rape yes point one of his poems in these very in fact when you see some of the early pre-islamic
Arabs had this concept that that if a woman was kind of taken by like as in if if she conceived through force that the child would be born extremely brave so like if if the if if during conception she was raped in raped it doesn't have to be in it was rape but it doesn't have to be like they'd kidnapped her and taking her away it she could be somebody that that he know so for example it could be her boyfriend her husband whoever it is but if he takes her by
force that if she conceives he that will be a brave kind of ruthless child that's a boy that's what the Arabs believed yeah in a lot of the Arabs pre-islamic this is pre-islamic so he's transmitting that poem about the person look at him is such a dawn he's so brave and he was born when he was you know when he was conceived his mother was taken by force she was raped and decent and he's saying out of pride they you know she was this is how it was done and this point they were no Hamas a is taught in most mattresses I mean we studied in our mother for God's sake in Pakistan so
these poems which I'm telling you or not the every single major Institute that within the Islamic world today teaches these poems the mullah part of umbral case the unlock are taught in most major institutes in rural taste what is he talking about look oh when I went here it is kind of like most of them are just his you know he's his sexy sex cepes sexcapades or whatever he's kind of escapades on sex and he's talking about oh look I went here got away from this tribe and I Nene I got to this woman and I got there and I got this and and he
says in his what's that line is this line where he say so and I got away from people like nobody I made sure nobody could see me and and and he says what miss looky table or miss look II hope Allah cut the rock to a murder him but I'll hate to her anvita my him and he Tamar Willie so I the he says and how many pregnant women like you and nursing mothers have I come to at night and he says how many of them have accompanied like he's I can't even count how many kind of women I've been into that enough had to go to
that were pregnant already not his own women he's talking about other people's women and he says and I distract them from their child because and the thing is this this is transmitted in every sport in every madrasah it's taught in every reliable mantra sir that carries any weight if you want to study the Arabic language and mastery you will study these things so the point is how is this not obscene and people say oh but that's okay because you know here you're just learning it for mastery of the Arabic language well if that's the point why couldn't they omit that line they could omit that line and transmit the rest but
they don't they transmit it as it and they didn't have a problem with this you know so my question is today this it's it's a kind of form of double standards look I get it look I get the fact that you don't like something I get that like so for example a people I've got children they don't want their children to be listening to kind of like all about gun slinging drugs you know sex rock and roll whatever this kind of stuff they don't want to be they true learn to be listening to that and that's good that's fine there's nothing wrong with that but you don't have to
religion eyes everything okay you don't have to like look you can say I don't want my children to be awake after nine o'clock you don't have to now say God said so you could just do it it's look at your kids just do it handle it you know you don't need to turn everything into you don't need to rubber-stamp it signed like gee the big G the thing is you don't need to do that just look your children your rules you know people don't want their children to do certain things that's fine you know like if your
child didn't go to university or didn't go to didn't do something let's say he wasn't working he wasn't doing I don't know like whatever it is you could get upset let's say your child is you don't need to find a religious reason to get upset just just deal with it so that's my my point okay so Islamic the reason I was saying that is that and somebody said that that somebody had made a comment about you see the poetry that was read was kind of read like poetry and it wasn't done in this kind of this
kind of I don't know this kind of like rapping or hip-hop or that kind of mode but the question is what's the difference in essence what is the difference the content is the same okay the content is not very and I'm not saying the content has to be something we like it's not I mean I don't necessarily I'm not saying I like that or I would want you know like to teach that to my children or I would want them to be I wouldn't probably I wouldn't want that as a parent but the point is I don't have to lie to do that I could say look I don't like it I want you to have a certain at least in front of me I would want my children to have a certain
standard but that doesn't mean I become like I stop lying or fabricating things on behalf of Allah oh I Oh either that I act like oh that children will never know these things I don't need to act naive either that they will know these things they live in this world so they will know these things okay all right so the thing music Allah Akbar here's an interesting thought see I was mesmerized by this thought the other day I was listening to this audio book but anyway and he said something which I think obviously I may have come
across will probably come across in different ways before but it just hit me they said in reality you see our minds our brains interpret data they interpret sensory data perception sensation we don't read things or interpret them the way they actually are we feel vibrations right and the brain interprets them as sounds we feel vibrations and we
interpret them as sounds we see the electric waves and things like this electromagnetic field we interpret them differently we're seeing you know we will see colors we were you you might taste something bite something and you will be told your brain will interpret that this was sweet so sour this was spicy this was your brain is interpreting this yeah you might smell something little whatever things impacting the
olfactory senses which are interpreting this smell to be woody or spicy or whatever in reality in reality the universe is actually colorless soundless odorless it is insipid it has no taste and it is silent that is a fact
yeah we it's so unreal that is a fact people that the world the universe is entirely silent and it is colorless there is no color this is just light reflecting in different ways think about that that's bloody now in you so we've answered the age-old question of if a tree falls in the forest and nobody's there to hear it does it make a sound the answer is no because it just sends off vibrations unless those vibrations are picked up and interpreted by a brain to be a sound then it's just vibration
this is waves there is no sound so in my understanding okay the thing about music please I have to at some point do a detailed video like make a music video on me and I hope you guys are gonna share it and make me famous the thing is now I have to do a video on music at some point because it's difficult because you gotta set the
scene you see just getting into this you gotta set the scene for it you gotta explain a lot of things but in essence just to kind of get to the the kind of like default essential stuff you have to understand something and that is how is religion understood by people what you might call the ontology of religion how what is the nature of religion as understand I mean by religion your religion with a capital R with a with capital do you understand what I mean now with a capital R at least this honest he's nodding he said like yeah
hell even I don't understand what I'm on about what explain to me what I'm on about because see the fact that I'm making my sense that's my argument to my psychiatrist so please help me tell me I'm right so the thing is we see religions with a capital R all religions in general religion ok maybe not all but generally how we understand religions they when we think of religion without going into the detail of religion
without going into the details of Islam or Christianity or Judaism or Hinduism without going into it let's zoom out religion with the capital r carries certain connotations with it it has messages with it when you think of religion do you think of I don't know like the ideas that come to your mind is it what like but relaxation is it about like sports is it about what like what can exactly they don't the ideas that come to your mind when you think of religion are things like sacrifice sacrificing that there will be an element of sacrifice involved that there
will be rituals involved there will be suffering that whether it's contemplating suffering or but suffering will take this center stage you know imagine this is a stage and we're gonna put things on thee when we think of religion with a capital R you will put things on there like and things you will definitely Chuck off this stage so I'll tell you the desires religion is seen as an T like it carries the connotation of being opposed to desires and that may be linked into the sacrifice element it's
it carries an element of being almost antimatter like I don't mean antimatter as in but in the sense like being anteed like opposed to luxuries opposed not of the world not interested in the world the word for it the term is asceticism ascetic okay being ascetic like a hermit you know like somebody I don't want to be after I mean I know I'm in the world but I don't want to indulge in the world this these things will take place on the day you will place these on this stage am I wrong when you think of religion or together
like religion without even going into what the religion is did you know okay like this is I'm just being I'm being genuine here so you will think like so for example things we're gonna check off things we're gonna put on so commitments seriousness we're gonna put them on humor is interesting because most people probably chuck it off but okay you might leave a bit on but things like entertainment see entertainment ties in with worldliness being of the world being
indulgence indulging in the world would you put entertainment on this stage if you this this was religion you wouldn't your first idea that comes to your mind is entertainment is to do with the world to do with indulging to do with desires to do with not taking things seriously not be so you took it off now the problem is this is before you've even learnt anything about religion you already have these ideas of religion this is your subconscious mind set of religion with a capital R now you approach Islam and you think okay now let's learn and you would be incredibly
naive to think that this backdrop will not be influencing your perception of Islam it will be consciously or subconsciously so now somebody asks you music you don't even need to know anything about hadith about Quran about Sun about of ieaf about us hey about the most Fela hearts about the science you just straight away think our music that comp a lot because it's all about entertainment it's all about yes it's about the world it's about being distracted it's not being focused it's not you see so your backdrop is what actually guides you through religion
believe it or not it's not actually the religion itself most people think the religion itself is driving them through the religion it's actually their preconceived concepts of what religion ought to be is what drives them through religion and the rest is a confirmation bias the rest you just pick up along the way because so now people think oh so imagine there wasn't a single hadith to say music is Haram imagine there wasn't a single hadith to say music is Haram I guarantee you within a drop within a split second we could easily make it
harm just based on the backdrop because it's indulgence entertainment it's of this world another one look at that alright hunting down traitor [Laughter] reason you mean through reason it's see
but this is it not most people be driven will have basic structures but you will see human beings you will make these associations with religion why are you making those wrist associations with religion is an interesting question now maybe that's because of the kind of cultural indoctrination or your perception of society or what you've just generally picked up on I'm not saying these things will all be innate but most people will make those associations I guarantee you could take it you could go somewhere else you don't know the people ask them what would they associate with religion with the capital
art not a religion just religion they will come out with very similar things like rituals sacrifice suffering anti world indulgence anti desires being you know celibacy things like celibacy tying to being anti desires being so it's the same kind of things they will come up with now once you have that you don't even need texts to make things Hara because II even if there was nothing to say music is haram it already clashes with your understanding of religion right let me give you an example imagine
somebody came up with over let's say they chose something new a new thing which wasn't from Islam but it tied in with one of these how would it be condemned I don't know get anything of an example so
hmm let's say I tell you like let's say right so see it does help to be on drugs doesn't it and I think he would be mad no it doesn't say no to drugs that was a joke bad joke all right so the thing is right there sorry so the point is I was still a joke oh okay let's take celibacy as an example since the quick bright
thinking minds of the future or sitting in front of me in York are so quick to come up with answers right I'll just using the quantum we raised our just erase your answers and I'll just give one as an example right so so let's take let's take celibacy as an example now you see that's actually funny celibacy I mean it's not funny it's actually very boring I'm sure but the point is what's interesting is what makes it fun is we actually have a text with the Prophet condemned syllabus like you all know the hadith where the man comes the Prophet says all three men come and one says I
will you know I stay up all night and I'll pray and another one says all fast and not open my fast and another person says I'll never marry any women and stuff like this and the profit goes to mosque makes and a hot body condemns all three and says what's wrong with people you know my bad well I mean they come to me what's wrong with people they tell me their piety and they think this is pious and he says why don't you go to sleep during the night and if you want to pray just pray a small portion why don't you you know fast and not fast and he says and what's wrong with getting married and so that the point is so we actually have a text which is sahi but let's take this as an example so we've actually looking at it from a it's slightly
handicapped - the thing is right so it's not even a level plane we're looking at it with the fact that we've got existing texts yet do you actually think that people would oppose it if a person said in I'm going to commit myself to God and due to my commitment it bar my commitment the thing is due to my commitment to God I'm not gonna I'm not going to indulge
in any marriage or have anything to do with women how do you think how much do you think people would condemn them do you think they would condemn I mean I know they would say but do you think they would really condemn him I don't think they would this actually happens in several parts of the world even now there was a book written by chef Abdel Fattah Hooda a famous hadith of sure we he wrote Alama al ahzab alladhina Arthur L alice' watch that those Bachelor
Alomar who preferred knowledge over marriage he wrote this book where he lists throughout the centuries people like for example Imam no we've heard of no we never got married entertainment even at emia never got married some of you thinking that boy why's that that's not surprising as a joke right all day I I do appreciate even a team yeah so the thing is but I suppose being he was imprisoned thought that kind of but he didn't get married there were many others many others that didn't get married what's the caveat here though
right people a on it today so it's okay so anyway so he wrote this book saying those called a bachelors fellows who preferred in over marriage you know when you read through the topic art of the ala ma they several like Adi odd has a book Spanish famous legendary Don of Muslim Spain called the vertical yet according up yeah alright good so right so I should blog a few names just to check make up a few names but I've heard of so the thing is so father Yod when he's writing my graffiti of people he'll say or so-and-so and he
chose not to get married do they condemn it no I know the question here is that I suppose people are gonna go into the hole they're not gonna go you guys didn't go into the hole Kong keeping each thing the I suppose he didn't go into that way after Futaba but that doesn't touch up a he speaks of historical figures so although they refrain from marriage does not equate to necessarily refrain from sex but nevertheless a lot of people don't pick up on that point but the point was he presents this as saying marriage compared to knowledge and knowledge was
above marriage for these people and they sacrificed their life for that this was hailed and praised people wrote tapa reeled in praising this book I feel you would have very little resistance yet you have a clear hadith condemned you ever hadith that the Prophet said any comments on a tea yet people would not because it ties in with that backdrop of suffering and indulgence anti desires and tedious and its anti Islamic but it doesn't matter because it ties in with this backdrop
now you take something like music which actually doesn't have a single sahih hadith condemning sorry let me sorry sorry I have to add that caveat in the about sorry it has to be clear unequivocal so the hadith in Bihari that they present says entertainment now they interpret entertainment to me music my entertainment could mean my clubs could mean all kinds of places doesn't have to mean music but they interpret it as music Maha's if it uses the term as if but the point is that
clearly a hadith which says music there isn't even one that is there's many hadith which about music being Haram but the either weak or problematized or there isn't a single clear honey so in my understanding the default law is everything is permissible unless proven otherwise that's the law of defaults right law of defaults which which would you agree Allah what well God he concurs the share of you study in York why you study no
way that you do any psychology that's the thing to study right so anyway say that uh I'll be telling right now I actually did my psychology degree with the O you with the Open University right so the thing is now let's so let's take so now you get music but people will struggle to say music is not Haram because of that backdrop so it's not really because of the evidence the evidence is just supplement and confirmation bias for their view but in my understanding music is not there's
not harm because the evidence doesn't support it and the default law of defaults states that everything is permissible unless proven otherwise and I'm all about consistency yes there why not people why not music is not Haram music is arguably it is the nourishment of the soul okay and you can see the reality to that it's amazing what certain sound waves can do and I
feel in some ways that it's amazing that if if things like string theory be true if it hasn't been it's it's it can't be tested yet but if string theory be true then the essence of everything is simply vibrations it's amazing that these vibrations you see because sound doesn't actually exist people sound is an interaction there's
no such thing as sound it doesn't have a physical kind of reality to it sound is the interaction between waves a waves sound waves which are simply just waves in the air and an organism that interprets those waves so that that kind of also solves the age-old question that if a tree falls in the forest and nobody's there to observe it does it make a sound no it doesn't make a sound
because a sound doesn't actually have a reality to it there is no actual thing a sound in that sense it's a waves being measured by an organism being not just measured sorry interpreted and received by an organism so and and the fact that music can actually heal people and many Muslims during the medieval times they had in the hospitals marathons least coulomb they had music therapy as a healing kind of mechanism and people
that are sometimes you know suffering from certain neuronal degenerative illnesses you can find that music helps them it actually helps in the brain how could this be Haram how could that be at all it makes no sense whatsoever
