    · Is it Islamic to name and shame someone for a sin?

Mufti Abu Layth holds that publicly naming and shaming a person for a sin is a modern tabloid practice with no basis in the Prophet's example, since the Prophet addressed wrongdoing without naming anyone.

“this is a 21st century Western tabloid tabloid ISM culture that you are exploiting that you are building your faith upon this is nothing nothing from the teachings of Islam”

    · Why are people angry at a hijabi influencer who removed her hijab if it is her choice?

Mufti Abu Layth holds that the problem is not removing the hijab but presenting a religious image one does not believe in to gain money or status, and that such a double life inevitably collapses.

“so the problem isn't that whether you want to wear hijab or don't wager don't worry who cares and the problem is not that is it an obligate it's your private choice the problem is presenting a fake image”

Mufti Abu Layth says the Najdi or Salafi dawah is a cultish puritanism sustained by oil money, followed by perhaps three percent of Muslims, but dominating Islamic content online because others did not invest in it.

    · What can ordinary people do about the Palestinian crisis, and do social-media posts help?

Mufti Abu Layth says a global outcry is necessary even though Israel acts with impunity and people can boycott Israeli products, but that social-media posts make no difference to the crisis, so Muslims should not guilt-trip others who do not make them.

“people doing this in all honesty makes zero difference to the actual crisis israel is not going to stop because you posted something on instagram”
