What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenNo: mutawatir requires so many transmissions that a lie is impossible, which a report from Jabir alone cannot be, and he says the report is not even sahih. He defends following the critics who weakened the narrator rather than those who graded him reliable.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth finishes his first reply: the critics say not to follow the majority on fiqh or creed but demand the majority on hadith, and he asks why hadith grading should be a democracy. He then takes up a clip in which he quoted a critic's weakening of a narrator in one chain [?]; the critics, he says, googled the name, found that other critics such as Abu Zur'a [?] called him reliable, and accused him of hiding this. He replies that he actually said in the clip that even if others graded the narrator reliable, the critic he cited said otherwise, so they should pay attention before making things up. He mocks their method of asking each other whether a report is sahih, and answers the objection 'Imam Bukhari said it was sahih, who are you' by saying he is showing the hidden defects according to other hadith scholars and asking why their opinion should be worth more than his. To the claim that the hadith from Jabir is mutawatir, he says mutawatir means so many transmissions that a lie is impossible, which cannot be through Jabir alone, and that the report is not even sahih. The segment ends with a jibe at critics who overdo Arabic pronunciation to lend themselves authenticity, before he turns to the chains they quoted.

Position stated
Mufti Abu Layth says hadith grading is not settled by a majority, so that he is entitled to follow the hadith critic who weakened a narrator rather than those who graded him reliable.
