The answer in brief
machinesummary, machine-writtenMufti Abu Layth refers the question to his earlier videos and says inherited fiqh is so out of date that much of it can no longer be applied.
In more detail
A viewer asks whether trading in forex is halal or haram. Mufti Abu Layth refers to his detailed videos, including those on Dogecoin and on the battle between hedge funds and Reddit traders, rather than answering in full. He says inherited fiqh is badly out of sync, missing what he compares to hundreds of updates, so that much of it cannot be operationalised and its teaching has become largely ritual. He adds that many jurists of the past closed it off by declaring that no one after them may make new rulings.

Position stated
Mufti Abu Layth says inherited fiqh is so out of date that much of it cannot be applied and its teaching has become largely ritual, partly because past jurists closed it to later rulings.
“FK for the most part is pretty much redundant. You know it's its teaching has become simply ritual in nature”

What can we say? This is a poem. Oh, that's a song. Trading in forex, is it haram or halal? Uh, is it halal or haram? People, what man? You know, I've got I've got detailed videos on this.
You can watch where I speak about um what was it called? um with the whole Dogecoin and um that video where I'm speaking about um the Wall Street battle between the hedge funders and and Reddit. So check that out. And I go into all of this. I've also explained that, you know, look, FK is pretty much um way out of sync.
Way out of sync. It's not like one or two updates late. [laughter] There's like about I don't know something like500 updates that are missing that the old system is inoperable. It cannot be operationalized. FK for the most part is pretty much redundant. You know it's its teaching has become simply ritual in nature and a tiny percentage is used to extrapolate on but then you know the problem is they can't even do that
because the the faha for the many of them not all of them but many of them they they kind of you know what's the you see they kind of sunk the ship So they locked it off in such a way that as the you know that that even if you access it they have put these kind of signs that nobody's allowed to make rules after us you know it was us we were the last the last dons divinely inspired dons on earth and nobody after
now some madhabs are much more notorious for that and others are less So um so the Hannfi Mazb is probably the most notorious on that issue. They're absolute control freaks. I mean like it's psychotic how controlling the the scholars were the scholars who have died. Not now. They're not. These people are just you know one they're incompetent but two they're stuck because they can't um you know actually that you know there's been this whole drama.
