The answer in brief
machinesummary, machine-writtenMufti Abu Layth admires Hasan Farhan al-Maliki's open-minded rejection of folkloric Islam but disagrees with his dismissive, Shia-inclined stance on companions such as Mu'awiya.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth is asked for his thoughts on Hasan Farhan al-Maliki of Saudi Arabia. Mufti says that, as far as he has read, al-Maliki is a Maliki by tribe rather than by madhhab, though he could be wrong. He calls him a very open-minded, forward-thinking person, and says he likes and admires how al-Maliki problematises folkloric, cultural Islam such as demonic possession and magic, views Mufti says he holds himself. Where Mufti says his views clash is al-Maliki's attitude to companions of the Prophet such as Mu'awiya [?], which he describes as a Shia-inclined and strongly dismissive stance, and he points viewers to his detailed video on criticising the companions.

right thoughts on for Han Hassan al-maliki Nadeem is asked right yeah for Han Hasan chef for Han Hassan from Saudi Arabia he I don't I don't think he's molecule method by the way I could be wrong but I think he's Maliki from the tribe on Malik so he's not actually you know he's not actually Malkiel method from what I'm aware I I could be wrong
but I that's what I've kind of read that he's Maliki in his Mizpah to his bubbly nispom his Kabila not Maliki al shock to Imam Malik but yeah so he's is definitely a very open-minded person I like many of his views you know it's very forward thinking he problematizes a lot of the kind of folkloric kind of cultural Islam that is found things like voodoo and hocus-pocus Islam he kind of dispelled a lot of that as far as I'm aware demonic
possessions magic stuff like that that's what I so he's very I I do I like that I admire that obviously these are the kind of views I hold so naturally I will I did that the only issue I I personally as a person not that I have with him but with his views I don't have an issue with him but with his views where I'm at conflict with his views are right so where he his his his attitude towards companions of the Prophet like my how we are or the Ilan I think he's very kind
of he takes like a Shia kind of stance or a Shia inclined stunt towards mahalia out of the allow on and I think he's quite dismissive and maybe even strongly dismissive so obviously my views clash with his views on things like that and I a detailed video I put it up on Instagram as well because many people asking me about can we criticize the Companions of do check that out
