What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenMufti Abu Layth says Brown tends to nitpick Arabic instead of engaging the argument, rejects Haqiqatjou's claim that his credentials are irrelevant, and calls both sides strangely dogmatic.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth recalls that during his BukhariGate series Brown, instead of addressing the issue, posted that Mufti had mispronounced the name of a scholar he quoted, al-Bunani [?], and that Mufti had to post a photograph of the book to show his reading was right. He says Brown went for an Arabic point rather than Haqiqatjou's argument and is now being criticised in turn, since mushkil can mean ambiguous. He reports Haqiqatjou's reply that he has no ijazah or formal degree but has studied Arabic for many years, and his argument that asking about credentials is a distraction because he is not commenting on Islamic matters; Mufti answers that someone who says others misrepresent Islam will naturally be asked about his qualifications, and briefly replays a line from the clip. He concludes that he does not understand the angles either side comes from or why both present such strangely dogmatic views, and that the exchange came down to correcting each other's Arabic.

you know this is the uh problematic [Applause] [Music] foreign [Laughter]
so he is trying to correct me i was like this is uh no no no no i was so i had to then show take a photograph from the book put it on social media to show that actually it is bonhani you know the scholar i'm quoting so next time before you try to just why didn't you just deal with the actual issue you know this is so what's happened is instead of dealing with hakikaju he's gone for this arabic point and then he's getting slammed well actually it can mean ambiguous as well so actually your arabic isn't all that and he's correcting
um you know danny why who and he's saying well you don't know arabic and vogue you don't know arabic [Laughter] and daniel jew was like uh look i don't have the uh jazza the formal degree or certificate i haven't graduated from ireland program but uh that doesn't mean that i am not learning or i haven't studied i haven't studied arabic in fact i have seen these things for many years i'm still studying these things um in arabic and and so forth so that's first of all i feel is a big distraction uh from the actual issue to bring up someone's
credentials because why are you asking me about islamic you know if i was commenting about islamic stuff then you could ask but i'm not what do you think you're talking about you're saying these people are misrepresenting islam obviously people are going to ask you what are your what are your qualifications about islam right oh no this this is what he's basically [Laughter]
that's what danny danny is going trying to do he's trying to he's like watch this leap i got this people i got this [Laughter] i got these people i got this i got this watch this so this is the this one big problem you know oh no no uh problematic as mushkil fine but that's actually not a good explanation
[Laughter] so these people both of these people honestly this is the problem with all of these daniel hakiko on one side
in this royal rumble then you've got jonathan brown on another side who i don't sometimes i don't understand you know i don't understand the angles these people come from why they present such kind of strangely dogmatic views and then it's just you know everybody just [Music] [Laughter] so that's what's going to happen isn't it and then just correcting each other's arabic
correcting each other's arabic uh problematic no as much [Music] so this is the issue with all this kind of nonsense but i had to cover it i thought why not people you
