What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenPeople cannot be bullied into beliefs, and al-Yaqoubi has rightly not responded to the letter. But his admirers also need balance: claims that he performs miracles or read the Shama'il in four hours go too far and provoke hatred of him.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth says the speaker in the clip kept demanding that his opponents 'do one, two, three' before debating, and asks when people will learn that you cannot bully people, mocking the 'defenders of the faith' as if they were assembling superheroes. He notes that Shaykh al-Yaqoubi has not responded to them, which would be ridiculous, and that the counting refrain was the 'root' the letter-writers want to return to. On the same token, he says, people need to calm down on the other side: someone replying in al-Yaqoubi's defence wrote five pages exalting him, claiming to have witnessed his miracles and that he read the whole Shama'il [?] in four hours as a karama. Mufti, while accepting that al-Yaqoubi may well be a noble and respectable person, asks whether he is the only sober one, says such claims are not fair, and calls for balance, because overdoing praise provokes people to hate the person praised. He gives the example of someone telling him that al-Yaqoubi's Arabic is as magnificent as pre-Islamic Arabic, which he found far too much. He ends by picking up a comment about Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah, saying he would not call him the current don of Maliki knowledge but that he is certainly a Maliki scholar and a great scholar.

to this point people these when do we learn that you can't bully people I mean you know these defenders of the faith for God's sake defenders assemble one two three three pay on three okay one two three assemble so I came across that and I was like oh my god this is so ridiculous how you know it's like and obviously share here who be hasn't responded to them which Asian at all because I mean that would just be ridiculous
