What this part covers

machinesummary, machine-written

The Bukhari report in which the Prophet sees a woman beside Umar's palace in paradise and turns away because of Umar's jealousy casts the Prophet in a poor light, Mufti Abu Layth says.

In more detail

Mufti Abu Layth reads a report from the book of the beginning of creation, which he numbers 3242 [?], in which Abu Hurayra relates that the Prophet said that while asleep he saw himself in paradise, walking around, and saw a woman performing wudu beside a palace; told that the palace belonged to Umar, he remembered Umar's ghayra, his protective jealousy over his womenfolk, and turned away, and Umar wept and asked how he could ever be jealous of the Messenger of Allah. Mufti says that this is how the report describes the Prophet, seeing a woman and turning away because of Umar's jealousy over his women and palaces, and asks what light this casts on the Prophet. He then announces another very famous report, that of the Prophet on his deathbed, from the book of military expeditions, hadith 4431 narrated from Ibn Abbas.
