What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenMufti Abu Layth tells how walking out of sixth form with a friend led, by a case of mistaken identity, to a place on a business course the same day.
In more detail
Asked by a super chat for a story from his time abroad, Mufti Abu Layth says things in his life have often unfolded as if destined, better than if he had planned them. He tells a story from sixth form, when he had begun praying but was still messing about: a teacher singled out his friend, who feared his strict father, and Mufti walked out with him in solidarity. An advice centre sent them the same day to a vocational centre that happened to be expecting two new applicants, so the staff mistook them for the new students, showed them round and enrolled them in business administration, and when the mistake came out at the paperwork the deputy let them stay. Mufti says this is how the Lord opens doors, and that he has found such things often in life. At the end a viewer asks him to revisit interfaith marriage, and he points to his detailed video on it.

That's uh somebody said no audio. No, don't say that at this stage. I've been talking for so long. I'm sure it can't be no audio. How are people uh Abraham happy Diwali? You do is it Diwali? Somebody said Macron is the president.
Oh, Shukran. Shukran. I said prime minister, right? But I will get to that. That's just in a while. Just look in there's a super chat. I just want to answer that. Mhm. Tell us a story like I Abu Hanifh and the drunkard. [laughter] Brad, you're doing it. Brad, you're doing it. Huh? Or from your time abroad?
My time abroad. I mean, there's so many uh incidents. I'm sure I must have You know, there's so many things in life that happen in a way that you think that, you know, it was just destined.
[laughter] It's just it's just life, isn't it? It's just life. And and it's been the same thing when I've been um studying abroad. The way things have unfolded, it's like if I was to plan them, they couldn't have worked as well. That's how well they worked. It's just it it is amazing I have to. But it's been you know even before I remember check this out. I remember once right I um this is here before I went I was part of a um a college I mean I was I was in a college uh at that time actually it was a sixth form right so
and we didn't really care much for education unfortunate unfortunately don't don't follow in those footsteps we were just chilling yeah we're just dossing around and um me and my friend. So a proper obviously real tight at that time although now I haven't seen him unfortunately in over a decade I haven't actually but at that time we were proper and so what happens is we all get into trouble [laughter] and the teacher realizes that the weakest link in this class and you know
this is the kind of time I had moved towards religion I try started Ed praying. I'd started uh taking these things quite like as in they were very meaningful. I was learning when I say learning it maybe it wasn't proper authentic learning but in my own way I was learning about Islam. I was very keen to talk about but we were still up to a lot of dossing actually but uh so the the teacher realizes that um okay he wants to tell us all off punish us here I can't remember we did something we used to do some wacko stuff you know in six but anyway um he wants to punish us
all but he realizes that most of us just don't give a damn and my mate was the only one who used to totally freely be petrified of his of his father. I mean rightfully so. I don't mean this in a bad way. His father was a very strict man. He's passed away. May Allah give him an elevated mat.
Um and this friend of mine his name used to call him Jay. His name was Jiangia. So what my what the teacher does is decides to just tell his father. I mean that was so unfair. But you think, well, but he realizes nobody really gives a damn in this class. They [laughter] what can we do with them? But that guy, he we're going to call his dad, just him because he actually, you know, he's like he trembled.
So I mean, not himself, but from his father. He's obviously very afraid of his father. So they said to teacher said to him, "You can't come back. Everybody else can stay." even though he's not even the main uh culprit, but still he can't come back to class unless his father comes with him. That's just so unfair. So I was like, you know what, being the hero, [laughter] I was like, well, if he goes, I walk out as well.
[laughter] Teacher's like, [laughter] they're like, who the hell is this guy? They're like, well, you get lost as well then. So I was like, "Yeah, fine. Let's do it." I was like, "You know what? [snorts] If you if if you you know, if they kick you out, they kick me out." So like, "Yeah." So we're like, "Yeah, I don't give a damn." [laughter] And we walk out like a boss.
And then we realize as we as we walk out the gates, what are we going to do? [laughter] So we're like how are we going to get a position in a different place or you know there was there were these kind of obviously you you had different training as well then in place vocational kind of colleges as well and but we're thinking you know it's been we're like past a term and who how are we going to get in and oh it's going to be a hassle and so [snorts] we go to this center this advisory center and they tell us look oh there's a few places this and that why don't you they tell us about so they they you know they phone around trying
to find out certain places and they tell us oh look there's this center that's just down the road why don't you go there so we're like and this is the same day [laughter] [gasps] so we're going a proper like honestly I I I'm ashamed of we we didn't have the right attitude in life and stuff like that um but anyway we we go to this place so we go there and we sit down and we're like Yeah, you know, like, oh, that center's told us, you know, and it made a few phone calls and it's kind of told us about different centers and the advisory uh place and it told us to come here.
So, we go there and little do we know, but that place that center had just accepted two new applicants that day, [snorts] but and they were awaiting them. [laughter] So along comes us. We walk in, me and my mate. What's going on?
Yo man, what's [laughter] going on? So we sit down. So they assume we're the the new candidate. You know, we've been accepted. We are those two that they were waiting for. So the, you know, the the main not the main uh Yeah. actually the main uh you know guy comes in the the the person the the principal or whatever they called him back then comes in and he just has a quick word and says look somebody's going to come to see to you and this deputy guy comes in and he used to run this whole training block of business and stuff and he's like oh shakes our hand and he's like yeah come through and you know how did you get was it okay and we're thinking yeah it's okay he's like
it was cool coming here yeah we're like Yeah. [laughter] And he shows us around all these centers and they've got this uh they've got like uh they had different vocational like woodworks mechanics. They had business, they had it. And he goes to us that oh right so uh so you guys are going to go into business. So we go we were thinking it. So he goes oh I thought business but what the hell yeah that's fine.
You know similar business admin. They get us in and everything. And it only comes to when we're about to sign the paperwork. [laughter] And he realizes we go, "But that's not my name though." [laughter] [gasps] So because he'd spent this whole afternoon with us, he was like, "Well," then he goes, "What? I don't get it. Why did you two come here?" So we said, "Well, we were just in the advisory place and they told us." So since we've now kind of had our little joking with him, our laughs, he's shown us around, done all of this, you know, we've agreed to the whole syllabus, everything, he's like, "Ah,
what the hell? Go on then." And like that the Lord opens doors for you. I have to say these kind of things like that, I found them so often in life. Um seriously in the words of that that when life had passed through such phases in life
[laughter] he says that what can we say except that the lord watched over us Allah Allah Allah people let's move on somebody said the analyst Mr. Laith, are you Mr. Laith? Do you mind touching? [laughter] What kind of a sting up is this? Do you mind touching? Huh? [laughter] Where's the Do you mind touching interfaith marriages again?
Having a mid20s crisis here. Well, I've got a very detailed video on that. You can check it out. Interfaith marriages. You naughty naughty. You you you you. Right. So, let's take a look at some of these questions. Miy, who's winning the election? I don't know. You know, that's a tough one.
