What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenHousekeeping before the questions: a sound check, a note that a critic's reaction video will be discussed later, and a recommendation of the MindTrap episode on gender with Professor Adis Duderija.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth opens the stream with a sound check, jokes about starting late and keeping his critics waiting, and greets viewers on YouTube and Facebook. He notes that a critic has made a forty-minute reaction video about him and says he will talk about it later. He mentions a trip to the Peak District, missing the gym, and the gyms reopening the following week, adding that one can work out after the fast in Ramadan. He then recommends his latest MindTrap conversation with Professor Adis Duderija [?], on gender and gendered discourse in the faith: whether the Quran takes a gendered outlook, distorted interpretations by Salafi and other groups, an egalitarian approach between men and women, the Sharia and process theology.
