machinesummary, machine-writtenMufti Abu Layth announces the night's topics: the raven in the story of Cain and Abel, and what the Reddit versus Wall Street saga says about money.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth turns to the chat and sets out the night's topics. He will look at the verse about the two sons of Adam and the raven, asking whether it breaks the laws of nature and what archetypal lessons it carries. Mufti also wants to speak about modern trading, saying the recent case of Reddit versus Wall Street shows how out of sync Islamic fiqh is and what money now means. He then invites questions and brushes off a chat request about alcohol.

so right. Okay. So, right, let's take some of your questions. What I did want to do today as well was deal with some of your questions if I can. What is going on people? Right. So, how to get over was invite Mui Faruk?
Who is uh Miq? I take it is the son of Farukq. [laughter] That much I figured out. Oh, you're doing it. Salman Moin with the super chat. Much love. Much love. So, what we'll take a little look at today is I will be looking at this uh verse of the Quran discussing the story of um um of I was I don't know why I was about
to say yachj matj because I played the clip. Right. So taking a look at uh Habil and Kabil the the sons of Adam and the story uh of or when I say story but the mention really of um the crow or the raven and what is that about? You see because it um
so that's something I'll take a look at. Right. Let me just put that there. Right. So, uh why this raven? Is this something uh so magical? Does it break the laws of nature? But what are some other messages that could be taken away? Some lessons um some archetypal features that are being mentioned implicitly in those verses or in that particular verse about this raven comes.
So, I want to take a little look at that. I did want to say some words on this whole um this whole thing of uh of um this modernday trading. I want to speak a little bit about that. So what on earth is all you know I don't mean what on earth is it all about but it just goes to show how out of sync the Islamic f is but it also shows some just shocking kind of uh mind
blowing and boggling um realizations of what human beings are now capable of doing and what does money mean right now. So I think that's uh and it really we in this recent example of Reddit versus Wall Street, we find a you know an ex an an amazing case study if we reflect on it.
So that's something I think it's definitely worth this is coming back on. Let's go. Right. So, um, yeah. So, that's something definitely I want to take a look at. But what are some of your questions? Somebody said something about the mods. I'm not sure what you're saying about the mods. I'll take a look.
Right. So, people's peoples. All right. Let's load this up. So, what is bothering you people? What's on your mind? Somebody kept asking about Nab. [laughter] Can I drink alcohol?
Can I drink alcohol? That's the question basically. Relax. Relax. Relax. So, I can't pay. What's all of these? Can men wear gold? Yes, I've answered that. Uh men can wear gold in my understanding [snorts] and I've got a whole video on it explaining why gold and silk are not haram.
