What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenA clip of Matt Hancock pressed on voting against free school meals, which Mufti Abu Layth calls the unconscionable neglect of this government.
In more detail
Mufti Abu Layth plays a television interview in which the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, says he is glad free meals can reach children who receive free school meals, while the interviewer repeatedly asks why he voted against it and whether he regrets it, saying the government was shamed into it by the footballer Marcus Rashford. Remarks such as that he did vote against it and that it sounds as if he is on trial seem to be Mufti's interjections, though the captions do not separate the voices. Afterwards Mufti condemns what he calls the unconscionable neglect of this government, says one does not know whether to laugh or cry, and jokes about the name Hancock.
