What this part covers

machinesummary, machine-written

Yes, in Mufti Abu Layth's view: the Quran promises that Allah will protect the Prophet from the people, and it describes cutting the aorta as the punishment for one who forges revelation, so a report that the Prophet died that way humiliates him.

In more detail

Mufti Abu Layth says the report contradicts the Quran, which tells the Messenger to stand with the message and promises that Allah will protect him from the people, whereas by this story he was poisoned and died of it. He then cites the verses, which he numbers 44 to 46, in which Allah says that had the Prophet invented sayings against Him, He would have seized him and cut his aorta; the hadith, in different words, describes the same phenomenon of the aorta or arteries being cut. He says non-Muslims could use this to argue that the Prophet was making things up, since the Quran describes exactly this kind of death as the punishment for forging revelation, and calls the report humiliating rather than dignifying. He adds the further irony that the same people transmit a hadith that whoever eats certain dates cannot be affected by poison or magic.

Mufti Abu Layth says the poisoning report clashes with the Quran's promise to protect the Prophet from the people and makes the Prophet's death resemble the punishment described in the Quran for one who forges revelation.

“Allah said in the Quran that that oh messenger of God that stand up with the message Allah will protect you and here evidently Allah has not then protected him”

That's in the narration, the Abu Dawud, that's in the other texts. So if he dies, how can other people or the prophet take years up to three years to die? That is nonsensical. The other thing is according to the same hadith in Muslim, the prophet said to the old lady, Allah would not let you get away with something like that. He would not, sorry, he would not allow empower you to do something like that.

10:35

Okay. So, so that contradicts massively. I this is a huge problem. You can't accept this. The other thing is that this goes to show that you see Allah said in the Quran that that oh messenger of God that stand up with the message Allah will protect you and here evidently Allah has not then protected him that Allah says that we will protect you from people but evidently he didn't because he was poisoned and he

died. So this and then that's actually a good verse as well that Allah mentions as said that Allah mentions that look if the prophet had been um had been making up verses against us, we would have seized him and we would have cut his aort and that we would have cut him from his arteries as in that would have been finished.

11:48

Now the wording of this hadith although using different words is referring to the same kind of phenomenon of I feel my arteries or aorta is being cut off. So non-Muslims could then use that to show well maybe the prophet was making things up because the Quran said that if he had made up certain verses against us, this is the kind of death that God would have given him.

12:16

He would have cut off his aorta and arteries as a a punishment as the Quran states. Now you see this is an humiliating kind of response. This is not dignifying our prophet. This is humiliating him. Not to mention the fact that the then they say well the prophet said oh here's a hadith uh that whoever eats such and such dates can never be impacted by poison or by magic.
