18 Oct 2025MindTrap with Mufti Abu Layth Can 'light' in 5:15 refer to the Prophet, or only to guidance and the book? Mufti Abu Layth says the primary readings of 'light' in 5:15 are guidance or the Prophet, as many mufassirun held, and that the guest's reading as the book is acceptable but may not negate the others; the guest says the word cannot refer to a human and that the mufassirun inserted the Prophet from presupposition.
