Hadith Analysis: Did the Prophet ﷺ Refer to Women as Lacking Intellect and Faith?

take a look guys at this hadith right there's a question this is a hadith analysis we're gonna do the question that did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam refer to women as lacking intellect and lacking faith right now laughing matter but you see look before I begin this topic I want to say look there's a lot of stereotypes there's a

lot of jokes there's a lot of I know sometimes women don't appreciate them and which makes sense there's a lot of these kind of jokes about women sometimes or let's say women can't drive or people will say things or are they really intelligent stuff like these now me as a person yet I'm all up for humor and humor has no bounds with someone like me okay and that's one thing and if a person say certain things out of humor or maybe people may not appreciate that sense of humor and some people may find it funny others may find it may be offensive and that's the nature of humor

however it is an entirely different thing saying that the prophet of God said that because that's a whole different discourse you see people in their own circles in their own gatherings in their own may say all sorts like people have stereotypes people are not it let's just be honest humor or whatever or even discussions or people trying to punchline joke so the best kind of things are usually the worst in terms of political correctness but that's one topic of discussion and it's an entirely different thing to say

attribute these things to the prophet of God to say Islam is saying these things because then you're giving something a religious validation you're trying to say Allah is saying this The Messenger of God is saying these you're not saying oh this is some kind of hahahaha you know this is this humor or you know it's just a joke a bad joke you're trying to say no no no this is actually not only factual but God is saying these things now in the past I had been asked this question and I thought that this

was a in the past I felt that this was a kind of joke this is what I felt however upon further inspection and revisiting and some people I had some discussions with some people and you know sometimes we don't like the hadith they're kind of fleeting so I've not like I remembered certain words of the hadith I don't remember the full context and I had a discussion with somebody and he said no no now look the context of the hadith is nothing to do with humor and it's nothing to do with this and and so I thought okay let me revisit the hadith

and and I did and I stand corrected this hadith this has nothing to do with humor I'm going to read this hadith and demonstrate today that this hadith is inauthentic it is not true and I'll show the many problems with this attribution misattribution to the Prophet which is part of those hadith that have been falsely or wrongly attributed and they have insulted Islam as a consequence so I'm going to take a look at this let me

the fire of hell right so the question is like well why would the Prophet first of all as a question as a tiny question why would the Prophet on such a joyous occasion bring up something like this like it's a joyous occasion it's Eid let's say and the Prophet begins by trying to say to the women do you know most of you are gonna end up in hell and the interesting thing is he's addressing them okay now let's take a look at some of the things that are mentioned in this text that are

contradictory if there are what the Mahad the thing called turbulence in what's being transmitted the turbulence first of all begins with when did this take place now you may say well hmm what's so interesting about that Mufti well it is interesting in some narrations like Abu Huraira it meant this was just a football this was just a hood man two people in general in most narrations it mentions the wording it was other ha old fit on either one of the two Eids either Biggie's if we can call it big E's either love her or

that somebody misinterpreted okay Oh miss relayed something so that's one point the other point is and this is a very important point now as ignore Josie another scholar said if you find a hadith that has contradictions in it factual errors or linguistic errors know that this is fabricated now take a look at this hadith this hadith actually contains factual errors right so take it take a look at this in this hadith the

Prophet says to the women you will be the majority of the inhabitants of the Hellfire so they asked the Prophet Bheema why and in several narrations he says live because and in others he answers in all of them pretty much he answers by giving the justification so he's answering the question why are we the greater inhabitants of the Hellfire I've already read the hadith somebody's asking can we hear the hadith I've already ready so they say in several of these narrations so for example they

the highest of crimes and yet the majority of the inhabitants of the Hellfire are there for swearing which by the way they are not they don't outdo their counterparts in so that writes of that is a contradiction so it is not true that the women of Arabia swore more than men that is not true women cross-culturally you can check out sociological studies women do not they do swear but men out perform women in swearing cross-culturally generally across the board so that is a factual

error in the hadith hence called the yard and all these scholars had to ignore this because they even felt well that's because they even said that otherwise in our day and age men always swim more than women and he said well maybe the Prophet was speaking about a specific women because otherwise men always wear more than women so you know scholars had already highlighted this the other thing is stuck for mulashi that you are ungrateful to your husband now let's be honest everybody is ungrateful men and women are ungrateful allah says in the quran the inner

one hand you see because that's a contradiction like I can't say tit like if I say to you like imagine I've got a group of people and I say okay well we're gonna go out now and I'll tell you what you stay here and I select one of them to stay here and he says okay and then I say oh we'll do you stay here well that just shows that you're dumb the person will say well but you told me to stay here so so on one hand we're saying that Allah and His Messenger are saying oh you're not allowed to don't pray or don't fast this is a dispensation for you it's like you get

this off it's it's taken as a token of charity so they say all right thanks thanks much appreciated and then we said haha well now you lack faith well then just tell them to pray then they would just pray you've you told them to pray like you can't you see that Sikh that's absurd kind of equation you can't do something like that I can't say well don't do this and now that are told you to don't do it you refrain and then I kind of shame you for it hahaha you know like you're so incapable you don't even do that well I don't do that because you

asked me not to do it so once again another mockery which is ridiculing the religion and this is ridiculing a lot the other thing is that look if let me let's take a look at this these hadith or the message of these hadith or that women they lack intellect to and they lack faith to be able to perform these extra prayers let's just for a moment just ride with that hypothetically let's just ride with that for a moment that they lack faith for

because they don't pray whilst they own the administration if somebody lacked faith let's take any other example let's say I'm just this is a poor analogy but I'm just giving you an example let's say you're gonna say somebody going through a difficult time but there could be a traveler or an ill person or somebody underage or somebody elderly within the Sharia whenever they lack something oh let's say they're ill there will be a dispensation for them and there will be an extra reward and you ought to save to somebody that likes the ability that you know what because you don't have the ability you this and
