What this part covers
machinesummary, machine-writtenNo: Mufti Abu Layth says two weeks of bombardment followed the deal, so it is not a solution. He calls Israel a terrorist state at the state level, with war crimes documented by the UN and academics such as Chomsky and Finkelstein, and stresses this is not antisemitism.
In more detail
Asked what he thinks of the deal itself, Mufti Abu Layth says first that Israel at a state level is a terrorist state; this is not antisemitism, since he is not against Jewish people or any ethnicity, but at the state level it has committed war crimes, which the UN is aware of and which Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein and many other academics have documented against mostly very vulnerable Palestinians. He understands the UAE's case that recognition could broker peace, but asks what peace there has been since the deal was signed: almost two weeks of bombardment. He describes Israel's stated policy that incendiary helium balloons sent from Gaza are to be treated as rockets and answered with real missiles, and says the absurdity of calling a balloon a missile makes one laugh in confusion. He says the loss of life is a shame, that he cannot imagine how Palestinians still function, that the UAE deal is not a solution because it has brokered no peace, and that there nonetheless needs to be a solution.
Position stated
Mufti Abu Layth says that at a state level Israel is a terrorist state that has committed documented war crimes against Palestinians, that saying so is not antisemitism, and that the UAE's recognition deal has brought no peace and is not a solution.

opinion as far as this actual ruling what what do i think about it well look oh look it's israel is not go right okay israel is a at a state level it is a terrorist at a state level okay this is not anti-semitism i'm not against jewish people um i you know i'm not against people whatever ethnicity they are the truth is at a state level it has committed war crimes and this is something the un
are aware of this is something people have written about many people have written about this norm chomsky so many other academics have written uh finkelstein so many people have highlighted the atrocities that the state of israel has conducted against uh vulnerable really for the most part very vulnerable palestinians so i don't think this is going to really do anything like i understand the uae's proposal is that by presenting this we can broker some peace in the region but in all honesty if you look at since
this deal has been signed what peace has there been you know there's been like almost two weeks just bombardment uh okay they claim that hamas has been setting off these incendiary kind of like balloons helium balloons that kind of go on catch fire somewhere and and they said we're gonna fire we've now got a policy that any fire is to be treated as a rocket so we will retaliate with by any incendiary device like if you send anything with a fire over here like let's say technically it could be like okay petrol bomb if i chuck a petrol bomb let's say
uh into israel if the palestinians did then that is technically to be treated any fire is to be treated as a missile so what that means is this projectile this is a missile a flying kind of fire so it will be retaliated with a missile you know sorry it's not funny but it's the crazy absurdity that makes one kind of like laugh in just confusion of what the other person is saying here like you're like hmm like what are you actually just
saying like did you do you hear yourself like you're saying well missile is this a projectile it's something that comes flying and any fire that so these balloons helium balloons which come and you know they're coming the incendiary so they cause fire so it will now be treated as a missile and we will retaliate with a a state you know state-of-the-art actual missile uh highly destructive i mean
and it is it is just a shame for the sheer loss of life and i don't know how the palestinians function honestly i don't i can't even imagine i can't i would be lying if i said i could even imagine how they actually still function because as a person i would assume one would just have given up on everything but yeah i don't think the uae thing is a solution i don't think so because it clearly hasn't broken any p's you know if you're going to be honest it
hasn't broken anything no peace has happened and i don't really think it matters but the truth is we there does need to be a solution that is true as well another very hard truth is that israel is here to stay i think we as muslims have to accept that that israel is here to stay and as unfortunate as it is and as you know it's like like they say you know put a stone on your heart in certain languages the proverb is what in this
