As-salamu alaykum, folks. Driving today, I noticed a mirage effect on the road at a distance, as though it's water until I got there. Now, there's a similar example drawn in Surah Noor. Allah speaks of someone who wastes their life. A thirsty person assumes they that this mirage is water.

They come running to it. They put a certain amount effort, certain amount of toil, struggle to get there, but it's just an illusion. You see that when the final curtain falls, there is a realization that maybe our stubbornness, our illusion kept us distracted. Ultimately, it was always Allah.
