Hadith regarding end of times | Mufti Abu Layth

Muhammad Mahdi says, "Salam Mufti, just to say the stuff you mentioned in your Monday nights has had many re-evaluating their faith. I listened to you talk about the return of Jesus and listening to your opinion has made me question my whole understanding of the topic, including the fact about you saying that the prophet's Hadith about the 10 major signs were never mentioned." It's not here. And and really, in all honesty, you know this all the Ashratul Sa'a and everything, most of these Hadith are kind of made up.

Um they may have been made up with good intentions, but and this is why, you know, the one of the famous statements of uh Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal that he said like three things, Tafsir, Maghazi, and Ashrat, these things have no basis to them. That much of the Tafsir you receive from like, let's say if they're saying the prophet gave Tafsir of this or the companions, most of it is made up. As are most of the battles' descriptions.

Most of them, I mean, the underlying theme, but there's so much detail in some of the books. It's usually just made up and or it's kind of just just because it's a s- a story that somebody's kind of spun and then somebody else has added to it and somebody else has added to it and they've tried to dramatize it and uh and the same thing about Ashrat, you know, the the end of time. So, all these kind of um apocalyptic fear- mongering kind of um predictions and prophecies are usually made up.

That's the nature of religion with a capital R. It does a lot of that. Um Somebody said, "Need to read the book Apocalypse in Islam by Jean-Pierre Filiu." Okay, I've not read that, but I will look into it.
