so all right it's been one of those days people one of those days it happens you know where you're still it's just you're trying to just catch up with it so ah the coffee feels good i read this post where it said you know by eliminating he said by eliminating your daily cup of coffee you can successfully
remove any little joy you have left in life so those of you that are tuning in much love click like click share whilst you guys are doing that i'm going to also bring up here all right that's awesome bro that up okay excellent so i'll let you guys do that coffee always helps
it does indeed abu hanifa it does indeed so uh look at that yep those of you look at this alright that's the name serendipity you know some words just have they have a a feature of attraction that pulls you into them and that's in all languages serendipity what a word what a word and those of you interested in stuff like
that um pinker's book on the what's it called the language instinct language instinct i think it's called it's it's been a couple of years since i read it but it has an incredible discussion on that on not only the etymology but the sound of words and how certain words carry a femininity or a masculinity or a softness or a hardness with them so it's quite interesting it's interesting i mean can we still speak about femininity and masculine i don't know
whether that's now no that's not it's just the it's just gender that is that is a gender as well i guess it's just gender that's uh become controversial there was a um i was listening to the news and the labor labor were in essence apologizing for i've forgotten the name of the the lady who said she said that only women have cervixes and that's it's only a woman who has a cervix and they said labor had
apologized saying this we're we're sorry man we're so hungry not that we're sorry that only a woman has a cervix we're sorry that she said that we are living in interesting times interesting times people um yeah i mean why is that how can that possibly be offensive and they say well you know i don't because these things are in nature
i mean is nature offensive does not do animals not have genders do they not is it socialized for them as well do they just they you know it's and i i'll tell you what's interesting is i was watching this uh apologies if the if this chase squeaks a little uh but i'll have to get that fixed now i was watching this one clip on that i suppose you watch one and then what youtube does is it keeps bringing up the algorithm brings up more and more so there's one where
some some guys getting into some person is getting into a into this debate with another person and they're just sitting on this bench or chair and and obviously they're at different ends of the spectrum and it's interesting that the person who's saying no gender is all fluid and all of these things and uh he says to the other man he says to him that look um he says i recognize that you have a the male
uh gender male genitals you have a penis and and that guy asks him he says he says what makes you say that it's it's just like an aha moment because the person says sorry he says what made you say that you assumed that i would have that and he says no no he says i apologize if and he says no you're right but what made you assume it and he says no i just assumed he said no you don't think it's the actual the telltale signs of me being a man and i gave that away and that's
anyway i don't know why we even got into that discussion so whilst people are still tuning in and clicking like and share we've got ourselves in the uk before we start today's in fact let's just show a bit of the what we're going to be covering today and all right so i want to take a look at
this quality of helm this ability to be calm when angry and some examples from the quran but also from the seerah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi i also somebody sent me a speaking of the seer of the prophet sallallahu alaihi a clip by sheikh imran hussain where he's speaking about the age of aisha at the time of her marriage and i'll try and maybe play a bit of that it's only a couple of minutes and we can maybe discuss that as well um and that and i'll try to bring on more people live today i'll share the link i
know i never got to do that last week and so i wanted to give you guys some time as well right before we begin i want to share some thoughts on the crisis going on in the uk and that is the fuel crisis and me as a person a non-specialist in government i have my own specialisms government is not one of them but as a
as a person who doesn't specialize in all of these things yet i could propose a very simple solution and i'd like to give some ideas now this just goes to show how such a crisis no wonder people treat no wonder people spin off into conspiracy theories because they feel the government just is either totally incompetent or this then they can't be that stupid so there must be some people assume there
must be some malintent some kind of um you know this must be by design or at least they're going with the flow this is with their you know blessings so to speak though everybody should know that well in the last few days what had happened was the media it a a report saying there is a fuel shortage firstly i'd like to say i feel that such things the media i'm totally for the primacy of freedom of speech however certain things like this should carry
legal repercussions people shouldn't be allowed to just create havoc and mayhem by just posting something i don't understand how the media has the authority and the audacity to do something like that because they know very well what will ensue mayhem fights people getting injured people struggling the whole country going into potential disarray this this is inevitable it's this is the same country that couldn't went while trying to buy toilet paper
i mean toilet paper for all things and what do you think would happen if fuel was brought into the question the the blood in the veins of this country i mean nothing can move without fuel so if if if a people who became um he became almost incapacitated by the thought of not having bog roll where seriously that is not a crisis okay if a people that became so conf you know in a state of confusion and mayhem with that thought how do you
think that same people would behave if it was something as essential as fuel now that to me this is why i i do feel that these things or to they ought to be legal repercussions and there was something the news article said something like i think bp uh outlets out of the 1200 20 had shut down 20 out of 1200 bp how does that even make news okay it's now the moment you put that in in the
press everybody in on mass started to just fuel up with beyond the you know just major irregularities so there isn't that much fuel available not on a daily basis so naturally you have triggered you have it's a self-fulfilling prophecy a fuel shortage or you've exacerbated it to the power of you know 10.
so that's firstly i i can't believe that certain things can just go unchecked like that they ought to be repercussions secondly the government i really don't understand this government they they claim that okay what we're going to do is bring the military military in the army okay fair enough you know that's something but if you're gonna do it show it to start off with don't just okay you've said it once okay fair enough but show some results show something because you're trying to restore a calm and action speak louder than words then saying oh well we have a hundred
thousands and um of drivers and what we're going to do is we're going to allow for 5 000 uh visas for up until christmas from europe i mean how what kind of what kind of a preposterous ridiculous remedy is that next they're saying okay we might and this is a good one we might you know a pay bump for hgv drivers tankers fair enough and then their wisdom strategy we're gonna send out a million letters to hev
to tanker drivers uh to come back to work please i mean did did i don't know you know these politicians parliamentarian did they just ask the primary school kids to just write up some note strategies for them to resolve a national crisis and they just brought that in [Laughter] write a million letters write lots of letters okay how many million
i mean it's it's it's so laughable if it wasn't so sad simultaneously so here's a simple thing but many of you have probably by now watched what's been covered ex-tankers these people who drive these petrol tanks um giving some interviews and saying why they've left the job that many of them they have to be on the road for an excess amount of hours they have to sleep in that tin of a lottery they have it's cold it's not sound proof they have to be careful that they do get enough rest otherwise they could run someone over and running someone over
with the hgv a heavy goods vehicle a lorry excuse that that that's potential manslaughter i mean that's not a little joke i mean you run someone over you're most likely going to kill them so that kind of a responsibility they have to sleep rough they they they have to take a leak in a bottle and they have to wipe themselves with baby wipes to freshen up they have to just have cold food these kind of standards and then they what i was reading this twitter feed where this
ex driver this uh tanker driver was saying that look by day six you just look like a and then because you look like a everyone just treats you like a and and and so why would you want that let's be honest so here's something simple a simple solution would have been look up and down the country we've already got several countless we've got service stations services all of these services already have they have these budget hotels they all
have them these premier inns and these budgets the these kind of if you stop off at the services and the htv have their own separate car park all they had to do was just announce one some enhanced security at the car park for the hev in these services and two the government subsidizes let's say i don't know 85 of all of these tankers drivers or these hev drivers they stay at these budget hotels on a first come first serve basis so that's their stay in food covered right that's all and the infrastructure
is all in place they've already got it up and down the country that money that they're subsidizing they are paying back to this hotel which is then having to pay its staff and pay taxes and it's trickling back into the economy and it would also boost competition for for these hotels because right now they don't get that many people staying these you know crappy little budget ones and so it would boost that and then the second thing they had to just announce was that they would just set up some kind of like a a regulatory or a complaints board a commission that if hgv drivers are facing any slack they
can report it to them and they just announced that we will be treating this very seriously step how simple is that and the third thing a little pay bump let's say they've raised them i don't know five grand a year or whatever it was you would immediately restore so much confidence into the public can you imagine the amount of respect the public would gain if one that a government actually controlled a national crisis and two they did it with compassion and care they offered these people warm places to stay warm food they gave they set up something for their complaint
ultimately people just want someone to care and that's and it's amazing that how the obvious things are completely you know just blindsided and we oh you know we'll do we'll write letters we'll do millions of letters we'll call the army in you know i mean i'm fine call the army in but it makes you think that that's not rocket science you know just coming up with these kind of solutions and and it would you would become a national this would become an
international example of how to handle crises but yeah i just had to say that so i guess the day i become prime minister at least we'll know how to handle these kind of problems what what is yeah what is interesting is some people have triggered conspiracy theories i'm not really a conspiracy theorist myself although i do find the point that they said that why is it that there was a
a shortage concern in the united states not so long ago and you know so many months later it's in the uk when they unrelated and i i believe in some other countries it's been sparked as well that is it all really the same issue or some people are saying it's been engineered to get rid of near to expired fuel because fuel has not been as consumed during the lockdown now i don't know about this by design but the fact that the government or people
in authority could could maybe be doing maybe involved in some backhanders and allowing this to happen once it comes to the if it's of some interest to them you know one two four as anil kapoor would say i find that palatable that that could be happening i don't think the whole thing is necessarily done by design but as it emerges and are certain people capitalizing and then they're allowing some hush hush and i scratch your back and you scratch my back man
i hmm i wouldn't put it beyond uh the people but yeah look at that the candidacy is coming up people i'll let you know if i ever become prime minister the gdp will be based on happiness what do you say right so what is going on
must be about to drop the next make it big yeah uh why not why not i hope you know you never know maybe somebody would because i honestly i'm saying this genuinely i've read these tweets by this trucker uh this tanker driver and i i'll be guilty by saying that i've never ever it's not that it's it's not that i couldn't have thought of these things but i've never thought about them i'm gonna be honest i'm guilty that i've never really thought i wonder what a tanker goes through
i mean i do many i'm often on the road and i will see but i never really think about it and i guess we all are guilty of just being two in our own world but when i read those things i really felt for the guy my heart really poured out i was like damn man i feel for you but this is just wrong this is a violation of basic human decency and that too in a country like the united kingdom i just felt ah that is that is wrong people must care they all took it
right let's move on people um do you work mufti i'm a movie critic the lord provides i happily and contently consume since it's the lord providing who am i so now of course of course many i have many different uh avenues investments uh things like this i'm i've been well
i always encourage entrepreneurial and enterprising thought i'd say recently the the crypto market is a bit silent but i i still i'm still fully there i don't feel that this is going anywhere that's my thoughts people may disagree but i definitely i'm still involved in that right so
horses come on we're way beyond horses we can't be resorting to horses in this day and age right let's take a look at um today's lesson uh on these verses i wanted to cover these i take it yep we've had a good little catch up and any chance you're coming down to dallas wow look at that see omar you're doing it yard you're doing it much love much love
so i have to say dallas seems to be the place where everybody is is going i mean a lot of these muslim it must be there must be a i don't know maybe it's one of the most muslim populated states in america maybe not but it seems to be where you've got all of these uh from uh norman alican to ramdisab our own beloved yasser you've got um a bunch of other people i'm sure you've got al kalam institute over there you've got mufti kamani
i'm trying to think you've got a bunch of people in in dallas and so it must be there must be something that there must be something that is that this is a veil for as um [Music]
they say that um but yeah so if i had you doing it love you with all my heart as well geogeo look at this chemical toll chemical toll or tally chemical tolly has asked what is lev he what is levy
a book of levi levy my food all right my food so ibrahim abdul malik says musti you should debate any other scholar in a friendly way will gain a lot of islamic knowledge from it yeah i i'm you know dialogues i'm up for dialogues i've always been up for a dialogue but um you see a dialogue a debating dialogue dialogical debate
it's it's in essence a sport okay make no mistake it's like any kind of you can imagine boxing imagine any kind of sport it is something that is a competitive rival kind of sport in that way you go toe-to-toe with someone now it requires a beyond just having information on whatever the topic is at hand it requires
great intellectual rigor and the ability to to to respond rapidly the ability to analyze the opponent's statement to dissect it requires wit it requires the ability to work immensely under pressure now at a mental level now this is not a skill that necessarily comes easy to most people because it requires also the element of expression so all of these
things have to work in sync the ability to work under pressure to dissect what the opponent is saying to to come back but to express it and articulate it in a cogent um manner it's using clear words it's not an ability that just every person has most people they would be you know incredibly poor at this just as any sport if unless you do that sport you would not be trained in it you you may just be lucky or you're just with your own people but you're not actually going toe-to-toe with someone who's trained in that art it's an art
form now i would say that i had been involved in this kind of debate at a very philosophical analytic level for over 20 years immensely and and and i do agree that some people do tend to have a knack for it they just have a certain aptitude that they are more gifted for these things and i say in a way that you know praising allah not in a way to be um arrogant or boastful but that i have because of being so immersed in this and then being
debating and debating and debating and one of the things is you can consider if you've you see even in in boxing i i'm left-handed so i'd be southpaw even in arguments and debates you can consider me to be and i'm using this just methodologically not in a religious sense but unorthodox so when you are unorthodox you [Music] are you're coming as the kind of the the underdog so to speak so you will face a lot of debate
whereas if you just agree with if your view is just a copy of the other person's view then you're not going to engage much debate in your life because you don't come across you don't clash with people or you're not allowed to clash with people but if you do then you will be constantly involved in a continual series of debates right through years for years upon years and that will sharpen your ability to debate because you become because every debate you go through it sharpens your skills and you are debating remember from an
unorthodox from an underdog position so when you do that for two decades on end and you have a passion for things like philosophy and psychology and understanding how the mind works and how people's brains work and philosophical arguments that becomes you know it is what it is so i would happily very i would love to engage in
fruitful dialogical if you want to call it a debate but dialogical debate with people who disagree but but there's two things one is i know most scholars imams religious figures are not cut from that cloth i'm just being honest i'm not saying this to to diss them to discredit them it's just that they're not like that because they you have to remember most people have just been in religion because they were placed in it so most people are not in the religious sciences out of passion maybe along the way they
developed a passion but they didn't enter it as a passion i actually fought i had to go against my entire family and everyone to go to study i had to you know go through a lot of hardship i had to give up a lot of things i had to leave home i had to do stuff to uh to want to study that's not the same as somebody whose parents picked him up and put him in madrasa or put him in a college or something so you see so one is the passion element is different two because people haven't genuinely not engaged debate they're not if you think about it most imams
most religious views are just cloned views of the whole group and really you'll just have a couple of big groups so you'll have let's say the selfies are a big group and tiny differences but they're a big group um you'll have let's say i don't know you'll have sufis is a wider group with different people in there but still they'll accept a larger amount whether a person would be brave the ubunti a different group there ain't that many groups and people don't really even within their group they're not allowed to have radically different views so
when do you get to practice debate when you're not allowed to when your views are not that different so because of that like they seldom maybe as a one-off they've debated someone and and you know and then somebody else but they haven't real this is why yasir khadi said when he went to yale his faith was shaken you see because he'd never encountered real debate and that's not the same as someone i i taught philosophy at college you can imagine there's a big difference i used to teach religious studies and
philosophy at college level here that's not university that's between secondary school and university here i have a it's a two very different kind of backgrounds so i can understand from other people's perspective they've it's an unfair advantage because they're not trained to debate and you see what they have to lose is way too much because they will look they will be embarrassed and unfortunately may come across humiliated so it's way too much to lose because you think if i was in their position i
genuinely had on my heart i would not debate me because it would be i would have nothing to win and i'd have everything to lose because if if i went against me from that position i'm intelligent enough to know what what this will end like potentially and so and i don't mean that in trying to diss them but i'm just being honest they're not in that category this is why all their debates have to be structured in a way that you only have a certain time to speak i have a certain time to speak because they're not you see they're not used to
working under pressure in a debate because they'll get flustered and and this is why professors in universities they can debate just face to face like we just talked like dawkins he will just talk and the other person talks and and they they can engage that and sometimes they may talk over each other but they'll settle down he'll ask him a question he'll ask him a question and it's it's very powerful and that is really the epitome of of the human the true prowess of the human intellect see human beings are not we're not exceptional because of our strength
see a gorilla is much more stronger a bear is much stronger than a human we're not you see our exception our exceptionality is not based on our speed to run or our ability to swim or to do a high jump or to have a boxing match or to do animals do this they don't have a boxing match but they have a fight our true
our true exceptionality what gives us that supreme overarching position over and dominion over creatures on god's green earth is our intellectual prowess it is our ability to use our brain and mind that is the true human gift and that is the true test of human strength one when brain meets brain because there you really realize and
that's a very difficult uh thing the second thing i was going to say and i've said this before i right now don't i i want to focus on trying to help people and um do something that can is constructive for people's lives i genuinely do well i you know in the last few months i just so much had been going on at a at a soul level okay um at the the psychical level that which is psyche to me is the roar which is consciousness
also to me now at that level so much had been going on and so much it's been a journey it's like years have passed like at least two years in the last few months and so much has happened and and i have to say i've received a lot of love from people as well a lot and it really and that was definitely part of the powerful ingredient that really melted my heart as well and it also made me think that you see i received a lot of love from people who may not be uh you know they they may be at ends with
me religiously so as in we're muslim but they may have a totally different they don't necessarily but i think most did not agree with my kind of views but just the the the human connection people that visited me people that and i'd been speaking and still speaking to and it made me think that i you know what am i doing to really help a lot of these people back because because everybody seems to all muslims or huge amount are going through some kind of a crisis with faith and i want to help connect people if i can to the quran
and to kind of allow them to to to construct that faith you know maybe scaffold it a bit for them so they can get by well inshallah and so i want to focus a bit on that and i don't want to right now focus on this debate debate debate kind of thing and i was just being honest when i said that last last time you know people don't like to admit it and i was just being honest i said that look it brings out a side of you that isn't it's not a side that you is necessarily good because you are ultimately you see
when you in a debate like i was saying it would be like any sport you are ultimately in that moment gonna put that person down and you're gonna do a whether it's in these things it's intellectual but you're going to do a smackdown and you will be even if you're pleasant but you will be ruthless intellectually in dissecting and tearing apart the thing and you don't right now i find myself in a space where i don't want to necessarily do that right now i don't want that i want to emerge more i want to focus more on trying to be a bit
where i can help people as opposed to just cutting people down uh intellectually which i i have no doubt about it being done it's just i don't want to focus on that so yes yes right now free will of iman life conscience meaning purpose and free will wow what uh life conscience meaning purpose and free will are different features of iman what say you life conscience meaning purpose
free will yeah i would say that these are all integrated and they yeah they they there's a perhaps you know a kind of interdependency of these elements let's uh i see sarasan much love for the super chat you do and you're doing it mufti why of dharmic religions can all get along without judging but the people of the abrahamic faith and the individual sects clash with one another
i have answered this briefly before on in my reply to is hinduism more tolerant than islam but i feel but i feel that when we say people can't get on is that really true you know much of islamic history for the most part i people point out examples of when fighting took place and it did but for the most part was there not this you know conviviencia this this whole people
living together you know khan bibir in our arabic in spanish uh this we will use to live and con together it's with the v that this did they not coexist they did and yes they were arguments yes sometimes things did happen but but do not things happen amongst normal people do not things happen amongst muslims do not things happen amongst they do but did they not live did they not trade did they not they did for for the most part they did and i and i think sometimes we have to
remember that human beings there's this kind of dialectic uh engagement somewhat hegelian almost by as hegel would say that you see that society it's it's manifestation brings its antithesis its opposite which then cancels it out and brings it up and then a middle path kind of rises and then so basically you will get war and then after the world war you will get the hippie age which is its opposite and then a kind of middle path will emerge and then it's opposite and then it's middle part and then it's opposite and this was
as proposed by hegel the kind of dialectic of societies which maybe he felt was going to eventually result in the kingdom of god but you see is it true that muslim societies or abrahamic societies have been intolerant generally i don't think for muslims that's necessarily been the case and i don't think even for jewish people traditionally that has been the case so pre this let's say pre-israel and pre i don't know 18th century going back because
you wouldn't get the jewish settlement or even the the you know the kind of khazar state and they weren't one could say was a political decision but it was a jewish state there seems to be relative stability and peace i would feel there was and i feel that recently we are the reason i brought up hegel was we are a reaction to colonialism and people are still suffering from so much insecurity that they are reacting in a very bitter way
but it's because of that it's because they're still in that mode of uh what colonialism has done whereas the the west in that case has kind of moved on so yeah okay and i'd like to add something actually here you see this is interesting those of you that are fascinated in things like sacred medicine um dmt and 5ml dmt and stuff like that which is sacred medicine from the ancients
one of the key mohawks of that math hub is uh is rick stross straussman now what's interesting about straussman is that he i mean he's done incredible research on tmt and it's really added to the plethora of knowledge we have in this field today of dmt but when he initially began and he was really keen and passionate and he was fiery and speaking about all of this he was part of the zen buddhist community and there's a lecture of him
on youtube and i was watching it and it's interesting he speaks about and what's also interesting is his later lectures where he's changed his views it's fast i find it fascinating seeing a person's development it really i don't know it's just something about it that's so comforting in some way and it just shows how life even if you sometimes might more agree with the classical opinion the person held the the older but so dr strassman he's uh giving this lecture i think it's from the 90s and he's
mentioning that when he began his work on dmt and started speaking about it he got ostracized from the zen community he used to be a part of the zen community and he got chucked out i mean who would picture a bunch of zen buddhists going all gung-ho just because dr strassman is straussman is speaking about dmt and he was a part of the community and they they banned him they they said that no because they couldn't take it
that and it's the same thing they said that this is decades of um meditation one arrives at this meditatively how can it be by taking some sacred medicine one can arrive at 20 years worth of meditation and arguably beyond how can that be so they asked him initially they warned him and he speaks of it in his lecture that he got he received warnings to stop speaking about dmt and this experience of you know this oneness with god and being in the presence of god and it wasn't about god
but it was about that state and then when he refused to they banned him from the the community so that's a fine example of buddhists being you know zen western buddhists i mean how much more chilled and mellow are they going to get becoming so dogmatic that they ban and they outcast this legend of a researcher who has contributed so hugely to the human current knowledge on uh such sacred medicine like dmt so that is a fine example of intolerance so
it's not when people say this is uh in you know oh look at the taliban or look at but then look at the monks in burma that started killing muslims and started and this isn't because even if they were killing christians even if they're killing buddhists i would say the same thing look at them i mean is that human behavior look at these buddhists who are doing look at the hindu bjp in india as wanting hindu rashtra and going around lynching non-hindus christians and muslims and and yeah christians and muslims mainly so i think it comes from this is a people's problem
it's not the faith it's a people's thing and when people are dogmatic and they have this this ego that has no room for any other human being it's only me me me me and those who echo me you know that this is where disaster comes from this nufs this ego identity that we have right let's uh move on guts mufti proved how respectful he is willing to be in his debate doctor people just talking on youtube but they don't get what they don't want
it's true guts it's true uh right yeah sugar and yep mufti what was imam razali's view on miracles let's go into the the lesson for today and then we'll come back to some questions and i'll also share the link and you guys can jump on and we can speak um
right there was a there's somebody mentioning one of the verses i can't see it but they mentioned that i can see it on that chat their visions perceive him not yet he perceives all visions absolutely allah see that is that is god we truly haven't understood you know our connection with god has to develop let me tell you something in life
there are many streams of ourselves running concurrently that need to develop so this is the physiological okay and it needs to go through a kind of puberty so this is the physiological puberty that you go through in in you know as a teenager then there is there's other streams of us running as well so there's the the neurological the brain so the brain doesn't actually fully develop during puberty the brain seizes its neuroplasticity around the age of 25 okay so that's
neurological development but then there's th there is a maturity which will be mental or psychological if you like that has to develop in its own pace that has its own journey which includes things like emotional intelligence it includes the ability of when to uh when to react and when to to try and stay calm this attribute of helm as they say in arabic this calmness that
this cool calm collected this this this has to develop and it's on its own journey like the these streams run parallel and there's another element which is and i feel this is the greatest of our kind of ourselves that is running concurrent with us and that is at the consciousness level at the rooh level the psychical level okay the spiritual level that consciousness needs to develop as well along the way we need to and it's not that the consciousness
is developing but us with it and these all require different things and sometimes people don't develop in all of these they might just develop biologically so you get a a man but he's like a child a man child doesn't know how to handle things doesn't know how to handle relationships doesn't know how to handle people gets angry gets throws his toys around you know it's that and that's because they haven't developed on the other level and they need to still go through some development and and and it seems to be
this kind of mental development seems to be more delayed in in recent i don't know in recent years i feel especially within muslim communities i feel a lot of men mature much later probably around late 30s approaching 40 but they've probably unfortunately i hope you know may allah make it easy for them but i feel that a lot of them it's too late because too much damage has happened along the way by then and then these other levels like how do you develop the consciousness this the spirit the psyche how do you get
connect with with the rule and develop that and some people probably never do that right throughout their their lives and maybe and this is why at the end of their lives they get these people will this as eric erickson says that as you reach the end it's either self-actualization or despair that you think what have i done with my life but it's also why you get people who they may be you know incredibly wealthy and they've got they may be celebrities and they've got everything they physiologically mature maybe they've even maybe they're even mentally very
mature they've got that side they've got this but then there's something looming a darkness that they can't handle and and may allah make it easy for them because people like robin williams i mean just think of that a legend of a man a legend you know honestly i don't the amount of people he would have brought courage to by just watching his movies by bringing a smile to their face he must have been battling with some darkness that he had to take his own life this you see because the last path that path of the rule of consciousness
people haven't worked on that and that is the one that is the ultimate that really grounds someone that final that sojourn that journey has to be taken as well and if you don't and then what may happen is you reach a certain stage where you have all these others but you just don't know what you know there's this angst because it hasn't fledged it hasn't gone through its puberty if you like and you struggle and honestly i i say may allah make it easy for all of these people it's a shame you know sometimes some people see
such and such and it gives them some people say hahaha you know this person had it all and he did this or this person hahaha wasn't a muslim or this person it's a horrible thing to say these people are human beings and you know people of god are creatures of god and people it's it and i think it is difficult it is a difficult path but yeah let's
right so let's move on so i wanted speaking of this quality of helm when angry i want to just bring to our attention some verses that we've oh this is something that's on youtube if you haven't already seen it i do speak about the psyche and it's sora and some parallels on the unconscious mind it's a short clip it's probably about five minutes but it's definitely five six minutes worth watching if you haven't already seen it so you can do that like share
and now this is a verse that's so incredibly important okay surah al-imran 134 i would say go over it read it commit it to memory okay allah now this verse begins with one of the most important features of being a human being honestly you know some people ask me what is the purpose somebody asked me the other day what is the purpose of uh of us what is the purpose of incense i said well
see one is to find him or herself but along the way to serve others that is the purpose and when you do find yourself and i was talking about that consciousness development you will find god it is this is what the famous sufi saying as well and and people attribute it as a hadith although it's not a authentic hadith but it's a saying that men are foreign whosoever knows themselves knows god and in the ancient you know the the temple um at mount olympus or in the ancient
legends that it said know thyself so right so you see the first thing people who spend this isn't just speaking you know this this spending isn't speaking about people who spend on themselves there's nothing wrong with spending on yourself spend on yourselves i i say to people spend on yourselves honestly i'm very in fact i'm a total you know somebody could say a sucker that uh
gadgets and these kind of things i i i'm like like a little kid i see some gadgets and i always buy them and my mates always make fun of me [Laughter] he just buys anything that comes up as a i say spend on you it is god's gift to you spend it on you what is wealth the hadith says that wealth is what you ma killed what you ate or you drank or you wore what you consumed basically or you gave in charity this is wealth as
to everything else then it is it is just inheritance you're leaving behind for someone else that do spend but here it's speaking about spending forward giving to people and it mentions in good times but also in bad times remember when things are bad for you they can be equally worse for someone else so it may be a little bit but just always trying to give it's so strange that allah has hidden and this is paradoxical check this out people
allah has hidden contentment and this pleasure of contentment self-contentment contentment of heart in giving forward you would never imagine it all these people we do everything in life and it has pleasures in it don't get me wrong and i'm all for it make money make as much money as you can you know do all these things you want to travel travel you want to enjoy enjoy dude and they will bring momentary happiness they will you see happiness there's two there's two main different ways of how people have happiness okay
it is either something which is uh through acquisition happiness okay or it is a gradual um kind of acquired through experience happiness so the acquisition happiness is basically i get something and because i've got it makes me happy you know i buy this now that i've bought it i'm happy this happiness i want a new car i buy a new car i'm happy okay this happiness is a spike it is an acquisition happiness you get something you get now studies will show
this will usually last for about three stretch it six months three months six months that's it acquisition happiness doesn't go beyond that you will just become ill just become normal the other experience is this gradual experiential it's through it's through activities and a it's almost by a journey you acquire it so for example and this could actually be just different kinds of experiences like you developed a skill and it took you a while and you learned it and it brought you some happiness
that this happiness tends to stay you for example traveled you met different people you traveled for a month you traveled for a few months you traveled for half a year you traveled for a year you did something this happiness is a different kind of happiness it doesn't go away it's not like the acquisition what's strange is that we most people they they are on this it's called the hedonic treadmill okay this acquisition acquisition acquisition acquisition i want this i want this i want that person i want just be you know if only i i could marry him
marry her marry this married this is still acquisition what happens is after doing or most people will spend their lives and dying just on this treadmill this hedonic treadmill but those who do make it quite successfully on this treadmill they eventually realize as well that strangely enough the contentment not that these things may have been fun but the contentment the ultimate tranquility has been hidden in helping others and it's like a strange paradoxical truth it doesn't seem to make
any sense that why why why would it that what in giving forward why why on earth would that make me happy but it strangely does it's a strange thing and and i have to say it's it's something muslims really pride our uh you know themselves on because muslims have been by survey one of the most charitable communities but you have to really focus what i would say is focus when you do help this is just my thoughts try not to make it about you
try not to make it about social media okay don't do this kind of okay i'm gonna help you just one minute can you go and record me whilst i give this to this person and yeah don't do that and can you imagine how it makes that person feel like for god's sake you know in islam they say the scholars would frown that when you give zakat that you even tell the person this is a cut just so it doesn't hurt them because the person is humiliation isn't it that one you're in need the other person this is charity so yeah
so here in this verse uh yeah and claire is saying the best feeling ever it is you know very few things have ever compared to that when i've helped people if i could and sometimes it could be a little something right now that they spend for when they have it when they don't have it so sometimes you're struggling you still do a small bit a small something now this part of the verse is amazing as well
allah says those who cave you see look those who mean is to hold in to contain anger explosive anger they contain it note that allah does not say they don't have it it doesn't say these people don't get angry they do get angry but they can call them in a way they can contain it
that even with anger they refuse to allow it to erupt and in that is a majestic beauty you see not having the ability to get angry is there's nothing special about that every most people will will have that they will get but it's controlling it that is this prophetic quality and mentioned in this verse and notice straight after it the it says because when you hold it in
contain it can you forgive them can you let it go it's difficult it is really difficult but believe if you do it allah says well your hippo muscle it comes you know that thing i said about that happiness it's paradoxical it makes zero sense i give him but i give her and i get happy that doesn't make any sense but it works see this has been hidden in that
it's a paradoxical truth similarly this is of that vein of such vein that by by forgiving you and this do you know what this contributes to that the journey that i was saying of the soul of consciousness that sojourn that path of its development these things contribute to that you when you forgive well it's an immense it's something else that you feel that
but when you do it there's a different kind of maturity that that emerges a different kind of contentment and a bliss and it's very hard to explain but it's experienced and this is why straight after the kha'zi mean alright allah says and then reminds you and allah loves the people who do essa and you say what is that well this is asan in this ayah you see it is these things that you spend that you even when you when you're struggling you still give forward you hold back the rage
you control it and you forgive that even if the other person is clearly wrong you have enough insight to be that better person to move on and i think this is such an important uh really wallahi one of the most amazing verses of the quran that sums up to me is sums up islam this really just sums it up if people just practice this they would be upstanding role models for humanity the other verses there's two verses which similarly
uh reflect the same image the same message from surah surah 37 those who avoid and it says deadly sins and immoral acts and we'll have to have a session explaining things like what are sins by the way and it doesn't really mean when there's a difference of opinion but these sins are not talking about okay because the problem is today people equate a fitty textbook ruling and they s you know super impose that on the
quran this is not allah he's not speaking about what the fake of the fukaha kind of sin oh a person says oh you don't trim your tash that's a sin oh you trim your tash that's a sin oh you don't trim the beard that's a sin or you do triumph that's a sin or you these things are just this is fixed speak this is just scholars speaking in their books and sure that may be their opinions but this is not what the quran is speaking about are those sins that that kaba ism that humanity generally recognizes that cause harm
and usually gross harm to to others so it's things of that nature but we'll have to cover that in a different session but people do mix this stuff up because of the word the overlap but then it mentions that and when they are angry that these people they forgive uh once again one of the most difficult things but it's echoing that same message from surah al-imran and this verse is an interesting one
now this initially speaking about people of the book but it could speak about anyone that uh that lawyer do not come that if they could turn you back out of this envy turn you back from this faith but what should you do forgive turn a clean page
speaking initially about those primarily about the verses people of the book but by extension it could it covers many aspects including your your ability your faith in how you handle life so for example and by faith here your faith your your positive spirits how you are someone that is that does not get down and does not you know even if momentarily you are saddened by things you bounce back up that is the true spirit of a believer of the faithful that god has gifted you that you have that
people as in this verse people will have envy for that sometimes because they'll think why is this person so why don't they get down why don't they get depressed why am i always like this and people yeah they want you to almost to kuffar from from this kind of this positivity people want that because they you see because once peop there's this motto that people don't say but they do it that i suffer we suffer out rather if i'm suffering we're all suffering at least we're in it together but i don't want just you know why why
are you okay but i can't handle it so what do you say to these people what do you you know because unfortunately there's a lot of people like that and why are they like that because of those things i mentioned they haven't been developing in the other ways they haven't been focusing on that mental maturity they're still they're kind of grown children they're like i don't know like a man child or a woman child that's what they like and they haven't been developing on the you know the emotional side the maturity side on the
on on the consciousness side the ru they haven't been focusing on that and so these people will oh you know i bet they're miserable a little bit so what should you do and sometimes people can wrong you like that allah says you see now it's interesting it says fa'afu forgive pardon you pardon them as in in your books but then allah says this is from the same word in arabic saha as you use for a page and it means to to forgive but in that
sense return a new page why turn a new page because don't let metaphori i mean this is in that in that religious speech don't let the devil win because what it's saying is that you see they've done this but okay you've not acted out that's excellent you've forgiven okay excellent but are you still carrying it as a note mental note if so it's slowing you down as well turn the page let god deal with it yeah but you would think what
can't i oh this person wants this person's full of hate they deserve this take it they do deserve it let god do it you know you stay on your path and i think that such wallahi is such a beautiful verse when we think about it so so eloquently expressed and captured all together and it's and it begins by showing that these people hate what they hate for you they want to turn you into this they want you to disbelieve they want you to lose this this faith this positivity they want you to lose all of these things but still
you not only forgive start a new page and let god deal with it and then allah ends by saying surah 109 in allah because when you say let god deal with it people say but you know it's not that you don't know it but do you not know allah is all-powerful if he wanted he would have already dealt with it if he hasn't leave it to god are you questioned do you do you feel he can't do it
of course you don't think but it's a reminder so yeah i thought these are some really so um powerfully important lessons and worth going over worth sharing so i want to recover that and we find really from i want to share in in a similar um on this topic moving on to the seerah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi and you see this true embodiment of this verse
from surah baqarah where people wanting so much hatred stopping you wanting you to lose your spirit lose that positivity lose that love they want to turn you into this bitter hateful person and you don't but not only do you forgive you turn a new page and then the power of allah does it play out it does it may take time it may may take years it may
see let me share with you honestly i feel sometimes these these snapshots from the seerah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam or these kind of clips if you like from the seerah are not shared enough because people share things according to an agenda or maybe just i don't know subconsciously they're doing it and they don't show the true side of the prophet this this what you see right here and there's an incident that i've related this before and i feel it needs to be related so often
it's a very famous incident of a companion but obviously he wasn't a companion at the time in early uh prophethood in makkah vehemently a man that would vehemently oppose the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and his name was ursula and he was of wealth and he was of prestige and he had a status in makkah not only that they were he had a if you in modern terms you could say the management contract
okay he had that for the haram for the kaaba so he was the de facto manager if you like so the the actual keys to the kaaba were under his control so what they would do is around the haram they used to lock they used to lock it as well they never used to leave it open they used to have their own kind of version of gates and so they would open it every monday and thursday and it's interesting that as well see monday thursday and people and they know that the the prophet
salallahu also singled out these days as special days but this was also a custom in which the prophet grew up anyway you see that's an amazing thing about embracing your custom as well wherever you are but so the prophet salallahu he would often face a lot of slack from uthman and his family his father as well this uh talhah and his he had a brother as well called uthman and they would give a lot of slack but especially uthman this son he would give a lot of slack to the prophet
and this one time on an occasion the prophet was trying to enter the haram and he stopped him and he said to him where do you think you're going he said to the prophet and the prophet said i'm just going to the haram and he said no and the prophet said are you really going to stop me from entering this it's a sanctuary and he said well picks up the keys he says who who holds the keys i do i said so hell yeah he says get out of here i don't want you you you know
he's considering the prophet heretic you you know you reject the deen of your forefathers and you do this you're a disgrace and you're this and and i'm not just that physically aggressive with the prophet as well and he he pushes the prophet out sallallahu alaihi and the prophet said to him and he did this on more than one occasion and the prophet said to him you know this one time he stops the prophet and the prophet says to him that he he says ya usman he says
he said he says what if perhaps one day you see that key in my hand and i do with it what i wish and he laughed at the prophet and physically chucked him out and these are the people they clearly opposed in the battle of it's in the early battles i believe uh it may have in uh i believe it was that his father it's in the battle of uh his father who was zealously opposing the prophet as well his name was talhah he is killed by ali
he fights ali in the beginning and ali and clearly this ali was and radhilan was an absolute one of the very famous warriors of early of that arabian time and ali radhilan destroys him in that mubarak so before a battle would begin they would have this send one and we send one and they do this thing called a mubaraza a one-on-one and his father talaha is the one that is killed so you can see this from this family of proper hating against muslims hating against the faithful and doing all of this
now against and they plot and they spend they spend money they were wealthy to hurt muslims and the people in medina and just to kind of fund the projects uh of people trying to attack the faithful and loot them and do all of this and all this the prophet is aware of and then the titans allah says and the days they rotate amongst people amongst mankind with the fat of makkah
the conquest of makkah makkah has fallen and surrendered and the prophet has entered in strength in power and might and when the prophet was there and people were restoring a sense of calm they were because there's the initial huha what's going on the prophet calls for us
and he turns up and he tells him go bring the keys to the kaaba and he does he brings it and he hands it over to the prophet and he's expecting to be executed by the way you know these people say the prophet was a warlord the people say the prophet came to attack people to kill people allah they haven't studied and they've unfortunately just come across sayings by people who may have an agenda of their own because it serves their interest to show a side
of the prophet that favors them here is uthman he is expecting this is what his anticipation is fearing that this is it they're gonna chop off my head now they're gonna execute me they're gonna and he hands over the the keys to the kaaba and the prophet says to him he says yes ma'am he says do you recall i once said to you
that i said to you maybe perhaps a day will come that you will see this key be yeti in my hand i put it and i give it to where and whom i please it says do you recall that day that i said that and he drops his head because he remembers that how time has unfolded so he's in this position where he now
not only does he feel humiliated but these are perhaps to him his last moments and he just drops his head and the prophet calls him he says yes ma'am and he looks up prophet says he says take the keys and he's like what and the prophet said i said that you see the keys that a day will come you see the keys in my hand i give other i give them or place them to whom i will
and he says here take them he says take them may they be with you forever and look at this not only does the prophet give them to him he follows it by making a torah like can you imagine that how hard-hitting that is that it the person who is not only so fearful and humiliated
he's confused that what why is why is he handing it back to me the prophet says may they stay with you may god always keep them with you only a thalim can snatch them from you that meaning may god always preserve this with you this is the character of the prophet so often people i don't know why it makes honestly it makes zero sense to me
why people choose to i don't know omit or just not relay this side they speak of just walls and they just speak of i don't know what i don't know what's going on what whether it's subconscious whether there's an agenda whether what this is do you know what this reaction was he immediately he embraces the prophet and he says
this you can never accomplish with brute force what you can accomplish with humanity and compassion and kindness never it is a difference and this was to be honest it was a rightful place for anger the prophet had reason he had motive he had purpose he had an argument he was physically attacked by this person you this person spent money to harm the people not just the prophet people the pro that the prophet loves
to harm them he had him humiliated thrown out of the haram he dominated him with this power the prophet had reason allah says what should you do in those positions turn a new page it's counterintuitive you don't it's not what you would think but it will work wonders this you see you taking exacting your little revenge will work for the moment
it may help you it may even help you at a tribe level it may you know at a group level thinking about the bigger picture will help the course of hume of humanity the prophet doing this foregoing his own little goal
boosts the goals of human civilization because the the do you know how passionately this person stood by the side of the prophet throughout the remaining of the prophet's life and and after for the message he became a key proponent of the faithful and this is this is just one glimpse a snapshot a kind of clip if you like from the seerah of the prophet so where you can see these verses being entirely embodied
this and i thought that um it's definitely something i wanted to share so i hope that's been helpful all right let's uh move on yeah anger these things there is there are i mean there are many other examples that person could give but i thought that's such a you know such a beautiful example from the sira there are many other stories i know i've been covering uh recently some of the jayahillia poetry as well and
that has some interesting stories of of uh anger and revenge and oh it's crazy honestly like some interesting stuff though you know if you read up about some of these characters of uh early even pre-islam you will see how
it doesn't really shall share a story go on and what the hell you know i um i mentioned some pre is pre-islamic arabian personalities and you have the famous antara everybody's heard of antara antara allah
so if you look into pre-islamic dons the absolute warriors of let's say the top five i mean you could stretch it to the top ten but if you if you look them up the top legends of pre-islamic arabia antara is one of them absolute worries so he's from before islam he doesn't reach islam but he he's from that time and he you see he's one of these people who faces a lot in his life a lot of discrimination a
lot of struggle he um he goes he ethnically i mean he's an arab he's from elopes but his mother was african and so he was uh dark and black in complexion so originally his father had it was common that they uh would sideline you know there was racism and things like this so he's one of these people who faced a very a racist upbringing he was black he was in arabia it was a tough time it was very harsh surroundings he was abandoned by his father you can imagine in a tribal society
and this brought out in him a relentless fearless warrior that he be he was so i mean self just in people all striking with his uh skills that his father had to come back to claim him again [Laughter] his father's like no no no you are my son
it's one of those that he seriously this is what happens his father comes and reclaims him because he he thinks wow that's oh my god everybody rates antara so and he used to he passionate you know what else is he he's iconic for his love story with his who becomes his wife he's one of those love stories that sees it through most of them they just die in tragedies but his was a realization he loved uh she was from the same village and and kind of related differently to him uh his
the the love of his life abla you see you know the ancient arabs they have these proper pure pure arab names you gotta love them we don't really actually maybe some arabs have it today i don't know it's definitely not a dissie kind of name habla but um so and he passionately loved her but because initially he was disowned he couldn't marry her or or anything and but later on when he's claimed back by his tribe and he becomes the pride of his tribe and he does marry and he's very he's always in love with the right to the end and he's you know his
famous you know from the top malakat those poems that used to be stuck on the kaaba is his and um it begins he begins by saying that have the poets you know have they left and and they disagree does it mean have they left anything for us to say or does it mean have they left a place and um [Music] he's speaking about this the place and
and he says ah what was it he speaks about her ayada abulata takalami ayadara tabil jawa kalami so in his poem he's addressing habla the
love of his life and so anyway he's this absolute don warrior uh legend and he's got all his poems are just about you know when they're uh whenever there's a war breaks out everybody says you know people say yeah antara they say yeah you know come on and he turns up and he does all this fighting he's ruthless so in his time what happens is this this guy known as al-assad he is known as the lion
what a name huh known as the lion and and that's because he apparently used to go hunt lions i mean what how more egotistic does it get that if you hunt lions and that's what he used to do so he's proper rated as in feared sorry not as in feared as in he has a notoriety so what he starts is one day this guy starts a taxing system so he has a i don't know one of the roads or something and and he sets up this taxing system where he ties this this kind of
ram or a sheep or something the and he he says anybody who goes past this has to leave with it a certain amount of tax and if they don't he says if they don't then and watch man they don't just call me the assad for no reason so people obviously and then without a doubt he obviously off with one or two heads puts the fear of god into people so everybody puts this tax and and so you know this now spreads like this rumor like wildfire
so what happens is uh you know you know in each story you have that you have that kind of that character so in you have uh hablas uh fiance who never got to marry her but he's always has this jealousy of antara so he comes to her telling that you know her ex basically saying oh have you heard about these this guy assad and oh my god you know like ah nobody can handle him even antara can't deal with you know the
lights a bit of the bit of the fuel a bit of the flame it happens in all eras people it happens in all eras so now so at this uh so at this point uh so abelast thinks ah right okay so she mentions it to antara that oh my god this guy is robbing people and people are saying he's the most feared warrior in the arabian plains and you know and she kind of says it in a way she doesn't say to him that you can you
go and fight him but she says it in this way with this concern and obviously man antara was a warrior but at heart he was a lover so he has this love for you know habla so he's like yeah huh he's like you know this is turned into uh how can the love of my life be preoccupied with these thoughts so he says you know what where is this person let me go
what he does is he says to habla come with me so he takes her and takes i think just one person within my car i think his own brother or something and he turns up to this place and what do you know i said isn't there he's not there so he turns up and he sees that um you know he sees this this what the the ram or the sheep whatever it was and and assad's wife he sees the tent or wherever it was where they lived and he calls her out and he says where's ourselves she says he's not here.
and it's a small world they all seem to know each other so he seems to know his wife and because she's the sister of one of his friends or something so he says to her that you know what in their words that he's dodged a bullet because i was gonna i was gonna sort him out man you know this one not nice so he says okay what we'll do instead is he gets that sheep and he slaughters the sheep and he says cook it for us and she cooks it the good old days huh turn it up and you say i've slaughtered
your sheep now cook it for us and and the woman says yes of course so she cooks it and they all sit and they eat it including the wife of this person i said so they eat it and and then he goes and he just says to her that tell him that you know you better bazaar you better kind of pull your act together so this guy comes back and remember he's this rated oh everybody fears me i collect taxes from people and he's humiliated he's humiliated so
what happens is he he he rallies his tribe he says let's go get antara so they say to him look but that's not really fit antara just came on his own and he brought his wife with him so you know you taking a whole tribe to fight this one guy who turned up on his own so why didn't you just go on your own oh problem but to be fair i said there was also this guy who used to claim that oh i'm a fearless warrior so he says fair enough he says this maths also working you know this mathematics
so he says i'm going to take my wife and go there so he takes his wife and goes there and oh clash of the titans allah these are the stories that were you know a generation later reached the prophet by the way and the companions these are what they would have not only grown up around would have known in their times so assad and antara go toe to toe that's it and they start fighting and obviously he comes out they've got their swords and his horse back and but it doesn't actually last that long
antara manages to swiftly drag him like throw him off his horse and as he falls he really hurts himself um so here that's it he's hurt himself and because he's hurt himself he's caught and antara catches him he ties him up and he says okay well i've captured you and then obviously he in that day and age he's captured his wife but then because he knows his wife it's a sister of his friend he lets her go but he's got this person you're my captive so his wife assad's wife pleads to antara she says
look you know me through such and such please let my husband go and you know he made a mistake and let him go and you know we call it i'm sure he'll call it quits you know can this just be water under a bridge so antara he said he says well um he says yeah there's nothing wrong with being noble the nobility as our one of our beloveds had said the nobility so this so he he says fine and he he says you know
what okay and he lets him go i said now assad goes back to his tribe humiliated and he's from this tribe same tribe now he's humiliated think about it this is this guy who was unofficially collecting taxes deemed to be the most fearless warrior in that region of arabia and not only does he go to teach a lesson he gets battered held captive and then released at the
behest of his wife his wife like a woman had to plead and he got let go this is how humiliating it was for him so you see but this is the thing farfu was foul but it's too difficult man this one enough's the ego so he thinks no i'm not gonna let this slide so what he does is on an occasion he gathers a little a little gang and they raid because remember arabia even in the prophet's time and pre-islam
was a very raiding society where it was that kind of viking like lifestyle they used to raid each other he raids that tribe of oops which is antara's tribe and especially the part where he lives and he raids it and they take the animals and if they and when they would raid they would raid at a time when they know a lot of men wouldn't be there and they take certainty and take captives and guess who he takes as a captive abla the wife of antara so this this one too much man too much
antara obviously comes back his tribe called him because people in that day and age they would go for days as well on a journey um so he comes back and people he's like what the hell has happened here they like they raided us they took our stock livestock took the sheep they took this they took captives and amongst the captives they took women and amongst the women they took your wife
[Music] so this one eruption time man so you you get that ah the antara turns into the incredible hulk that moment he takes his brother with him he takes just one two people and they set off for that that tribute assad is and what ensues is a ruthless little battle antara smashing slaughtering people that came in his way and it's not long before he catches this
catches him beats him defeats him and then ties him and is about to execute him so at this point when he's about to execute him once again his wife is pleading please please leave him but this time anthra is like no no no you know he took ability obviously he rescues habla habla he's got her rescues her releases the people the captives now one of the people suggests to him look instead of killing him why don't you just they used to have this tactic where
they would say tactic it's very very inhumane they would blind the other person and he says look why don't we just blind him and leave him let him wander let him suffer let him be like that's it he's blind what can he do and antara he's he's he's undecided but then he he agrees he says okay and they blind this
and he returns and he lives a normal antara goes back he resumes his normal life he has even more glory people rape him and he lives on and this assad becomes an outcast blind disheveled has you know obviously he's kind of outcasted by his own tribe he brought so much grief onto them so he just wonders and he just has like this one servant with him that sees to his stuff um even his wife has left him so obviously because this guy is just a cause for calamity now
this person becomes so ridden with this this thirst for revenge he thinks yeah i i have nothing left in this life except i just want revenge from antara that's the only motivating factor i have left in life and years go by he just has this one slave with him years have gone by they say two decades later as a blind man living as a as a kind of he hears one day the antara is passing
this particular route so he finds that he sends his slave to ascertain is this true and he says and he tells a slave look i have just one thing left in life and that is vengeance i need to avenge myself and get revenge from antara it's my only purpose and it becomes that rotten that bit this was the so his servant says okay fine i'll help you and his slave and and he says yes this is the path i found out they are coming so he himself lies in in weight he kind of sets a not a trap but he just
he's he he he he he gets a point a vantage point and he just sits there in anticipation and the days go by and he has this this spear with this poison in it i mean they dip it in poison and he waits away and then as the days go by this one they hear some travelers walk crowding along on their horses and he can hear them and it's antara's voice so this is the moment and what he does is he has that spear dipped in in poison and he launches it
and it pierces antara antara falls off his horse his wife was with him this is now 20 years later and he has one two other people with him and antara falls they obviously they they're not so sure at the time who's done this they just see they recognize this is a fatal blow and this is the end of antara so they just hurry to take him back to his to his tribe and these are his final moments and with that he he comes to pass and is the death of
this legend of pre-islamic arabia this assador rahis becomes so that this was his life's goal and he had burnt him out within completely rotten with this one goal for vengeance he obviously runs from the and he spreads this news i've killed antara i've killed antara and he makes these poems and and you know he reaches islam he reaches islam he reaches he's he's not because they he lives on to a very old age and he reaches the prophet
and in the ninth year of hijri there's a waft a delegation from from bonita and amongst them comes who assad this blind old man who was so burnt out within with this poison of hatred he comes to the prophet amongst the people and there's this other great warrior from known as zaid of the horses he comes with him who's this huge like a giant of a man and the prophet welcomes them treats them very well and that's they don't hail the prophet actually calls him and
this was you know from the the amazing uh the kind of cha the the kind of enchanting uh manner of the prophet that when he would speak to people especially with names he would put it in a way that would be really um endearing and chanting as well at the same time so when the person said obviously he was known his name is zayd al-qaeda of the horses the prophet called him said of goodness and you know in arabic it has that endearment so this is at that time and they've come and they embrace islam but assad doesn't
he says he's too burnt out at this time and he knows it he says that this is a man his comments about the prophet are very popular he says this is a man who will own he says he says this is a man he could tell he says that this is a man who i can tell by just being in his presence that he will go on to rule all of arabia and he says but i won't let him check this
he says bara but i won't let him rule me [Laughter] and so what he does is he leaves that delegation from the and he doesn't go back he heads towards sham he says i'm going to leave the arabian peninsula and it's transmitted that he shaves his head and becomes a christian it's interesting that shaving the head was seen in early islam as a sign of almost counter muslim it's interesting that later on it became almost a cultural practice of muslims but in early islam and in the prophet's time shaving the head was
often a practice done by people who did not like islam and or a person may have shaved it for the pilgrimage but often that was one of the symbolisms of that so and this person he leaves and he goes and this is the you know this this where a person burns his own soul by hatred in life and it doesn't matter what even if you see goodness in front of you after that or you see anything you're too burnt out you don't get those people too bitter [Laughter] and that's uh it's a fascinating story i
just ha i don't know why i i suppose it was relevant and it was interesting and i thought let's share it uh maybe some of you might find it interesting and do your own research but that is they say holding on to this this this thing anger is like holding on to a piece of cola or i like nelson mandela's quote it's like you know drinking poison and hoping the other person dies you really just damage yourself let me share the link people those of you that want to jump on
can do and i will i get sometimes carried away sharing stories i hope i'm not boring the hell out of you guys yeah if you write antara there is there are movies about antara by the way they are in arabic though obviously he's such a famous character antara is so well known but yeah i've shared the link shukran low losing very interesting thank you for sharing shukran so i'm glad i didn't bore the hell out of you guys
right so right so that's enough of uh narrating let me i've shared the link those of you that want to jump on um i've uh i've i actually spoke about the asylum last week was it last week or the week before so if you go back to last week's session i spoke about salim about kulaib the whole horrible versus and and just this this character as well as the salim and even slightly about hari thibna or bird i mentioned all this stuff it's definitely worth checking i'll make it
into a separate clip as well right so i do love history and i love learning about uh different people and i don't know they come to life for me for some reason all right people those of you that want to jump on if you want to jump on and you've got some somebody said oh that's a saying of the buddha oh i thought it was nelson mandela but fair enough it's great wisdom holding on to anger is like drinking poison expecting the other person to die
um somebody said that was so boring it's you know what it's it's my time and i'll use it as i please i'm sure maybe someone someday would think you know what that was actually an interesting story so let's right was there did i miss a super chat or something right there was a super chat by um by nora yes please do a video on sin i'm trying to clean my life up use some of your wisdom shukran much love for the
super chat nora i dearly appreciate it here it was there's the um yes i will uh i think that is a big topic sin and it's because there's a lot of language used and common language and and and yeah a lot happens in the name of sin you know and a lot of further sin is committed if we can use that in the name of sin but i would say really one just focus on the positives in life focus on engaging in more
good things in more helpful things the bad things will take care of themselves you understand it's uh that who who is it from um what's the the famous that with age the temptations will take care of themselves [Laughter] ah that's it that's it um what is it oh lord grant me chastity but not yet
ah that's that's epic that's epic that's from the i was about to say uh saint thomas aquinas no it's from the uh ah bloody hell i can't believe it's i'm having a blank moment right but anyway i'll come to we've had some people jump on so let's see all right first and foremost let me just get this make sure it's all
can all passengers please resort to their seats all right these are epic earphones by the way if you're into your earphones um i think recently as apple made some over ear earphones i've got to check them out but these are banging olufsen h9 third generation amazing amazing sound but so alright imran khan not the you might be expecting the prime minister of pakistan but this is even
better it's spider-man aka i'm in i'm in disguise [Laughter] no need to fear people no need it is only our very own our very own spider-man hailing from new york you do in imran so yep what's going on man talk to us talk to us i have a problem every time i meet like a pakistani person either they hate me off the bat or they love me off the bat
but as time as time goes on i see more and more of them just like don't like me all of a sudden just because my name serious wow you you should start with the imran khan you should start with the nam i do i do my wife always laughs i was like that's a very famous those that don't know it's a very famous shahrukh khan dialogue he says where he says it with raj
now you would have heard of the name it's a very famous quote from one of his movies right so all right all right there's the little one the mini spider-man right there so what's going on man what's happening stateside uh when alhamdulillah everything's good uh one of our family members had a stroke actually so her name is
i mean what what what what happened just a just was there were they developing health conditions or was it just out of the blue she had i think a few weeks ago before she had been told that she's having some heart issues and they were going to put they were going to do some procedure but uh you know i think they sped it up and then all of a sudden she might have had a blood clot that led to a stroke and he's recovering now but very like very very slowly i just actually i just i just saw did a facetime fall and uh you know
after like a long time we were able to see her smile so you know yeah so her name is roxanna anwar you know whoever is listening please you know just uh you know make a a dua from your heart uh inshallah i mean allah granted a swift and complete recovery i mean thank you so sh okay sure what else has been going on in your in your life that you've been
that you've been preoccupied with or what's preoccupying your thoughts in a better way shall i say you know i was you know i was listening on and off today um it seems to me that you know a lot of a lot of the message is about uh forgiveness letting go yeah today's was the theme was really just on uh this thing of helm as well of kind of keeping calm the ability composure keeping maintaining composure yeah you know i find that you know i when i was young i had a i had a lot of anger you're still very young
you can't come on to you can't come okay when you're speaking to people that are older than you and you say to them you know when i was young and they're thinking you know it's like i speak to sometimes let's say i'm speaking sometimes to people and they'll say here in secondary school they have gcses yeah and that's their exams so and and this will be i'm speaking with an adult yeah so we're just talking and they'll say something like oh yeah yeah we did that in our gcses and i'd think
it's disease and it just reminds me oh yeah they're just they're still so young yeah yeah but i so uh some things happened in my life uh you know when in my teenage years and i kind of flipped so now okay well okay what was her name what was his name
no no so but now like oh i think you meant you flipped sides and you started playing no but now it's like sometimes uh so now i try to keep you know like i try to keep control of my emotions and but i get criticized a lot of times for not uh you know like sometimes you come off if you are like always okay let it go forgive them it's okay it's not a problem people just write you off like either they say like you're you know like you're weak yeah it's seen as very weak
nowadays or it's seen as uh you know like you don't care or something like that you know like i'll say a bit blasty kind of right right right you're right i mean it ca it can be mistaken for weakness um and i think there is a delicate balance and i think a person you know by the like almost by the aura or their presence or the kind of energy the vibe they give off there is opi and and you're right it can still be ignored but people can sometimes tell that
that a person that they have it within them right to be let's say more ruthless or to be more petty or to be uh but but they they're not right and i think often people can tell but you're right there will be occasion people can't and they'll they may take it to just be a sign of weakness and think well you know oh this guy's just uh it's just a pushover or it's just you know why don't we do this more or take the mick and i think there has to be an element in that you see every situation is different this is from a broad principle
we're speaking but there would be a um in a situation where somebody is trying to let's say take the mix so to speak if you would be firm but fair you understand that would be the the kind of response that a person in that case would be firm but still fear but still just as in not tyrannical in in your reaction and that's the because sometimes you have to then the person has to be let's say you could let it go or they could suffer some consequences but they do then so some
but as in you see it through through the process or maybe you're about to but then you don't as in the person can see i think there is an element of this firm and fair uh principle axiom that has to then be adopted but there will be other occasions where it's not like that and it's just you just in your mind in your heart you let something go and people may think in their minds that oh well you know what this person's just you know we got and i would say if that's the case tk you know just just let it go like it doesn't
they can't harm you they can't do anything and you you know what's important is you on that journey your connection that you know the consciousness your soul your that developing it doesn't matter because you know that you could see something through but you chose not to and it's not about proving it to people but there's a difference where they can con with you see there's a difference where they can now exploit you and in some cases they can't exploit you but they can just say hahaha you know that person saying doesn't mean anything you know tk you know you chose a more noble path and if people are going to laugh at you
or they're going to say oh my god this guy's so weak for doing that then let them say gotcha this is a prophetic path it is the path of prophets it is a path of the rule it is a path of that growth but if it's something where they can further exploit you right see that's different that's in that sense you would be firm back in knowing that you know refuse to be exploited uh it doesn't mean somebody can just exploit you but if it's just to people speaking then people will always speak you know what what is it let people will speak let them speak
i'm sure what's that famous what is it people will speak and i mean that's what that's what they do ultimately that is true yeah but i think that's a really good point though you mentioned i'm grateful you mentioned that because it does you're right it's a difficult balance for people that you know if i if i be a nice guy then people will take the mick you know people eventually they'll you know when people do that is true they do unfortunately you know no i knew that even and you know like you're just in society like uh like i
mean you i see it more with like republicans here like conservative party i mean they love trump because you know he doesn't take crap from anybody yeah you know like biden you know he'll be true his kindness is often seen as you know weakness or whatever you know but just in general like i don't i just see that in society you know that's my little i i think that's a brilliant um you know brilliant point and definitely accurate insight and i would advise people to always have within them though that presence yeah that you don't you see i i i don't
i wouldn't encourage people to be weak ever uh i would encourage people to be powerful and to be strong whether it's physically strong mentally strong to be to have that and let it because it is an energy that is felt when people it doesn't need to people can feel as well because just being weak is not you see it's kind compassion is often really admirable from a position of strength yeah and power not from a position of weakness nobody admires the weak unfortunately you have to have you know from a psychological perspective
it is where people have strength and they are still compassionate excellent you know like honestly like mike tyson i implore people to really watch mike tyson in his interviews and he is a a human being of our era that i would feel he is a worly of our era honestly wow his transformation where he is now i'm not talking about before okay where he is now he is he is a transformed human being and he and you you he's i mean but he's he's obviously mike tyson yeah nobody would still and you see sometimes him on these interviews
and people saying things and and they push the jokes sometimes and uh and he's like and they can't tell and and you can see the fear still in there thinking oh my he could just at any point get up and just pulverize us but but he has become this kind of this giant of compassion of human empathy and his message of love i honestly i i melt with it whenever you know youtube always keeps bringing them up these little clips now always you know he just brings the next one i'll just bring the next one whenever i'm on youtube one of the videos will be his because i've watched a bunch and i
always watch him just short clips and the love is so genuine um and unfortunately he went through trauma to get to it but uh it's just yeah so i agree with you it's important people do pursue power but they become a source of good for it i always like to feel that if it came down to the crunch that i don't know if this is what i like to believe if it came down to the crunch i would not wrong the other but i can't be so certain that the other wouldn't wrong me therefore i would always try where
possible to be in the position where i have the power so you keep yourself in a place because i would because i would think that if it came to the crunch i would from how i know myself allahu alam obviously we all and you know we were creatures at the end of the day but from how i know myself i would i believe that i would still be just you know if it came to the crunch i wouldn't be tyrant like i would feel that about me towards another person that i would not um you know try to harm people i would not try to that's but i can't be so certain that the other
wouldn't unless i can unless it's situations you can and you trust but in other situations where you feel well if it came to the crunch i don't know you know the other person can i really trust him to be just or her to be just so therefore i would always be if if possible in a position of power in that in that dynamic oh i would try to if i can obviously in many you can't but in where you can i would uh try to do it that way thinking well i would aspire for justice or not justice for just for fairness um i mean this is just a thought i'm saying
it people we're all human beings at the end of the day and you know we're all trying to ensure at least we're trying to better ourselves yeah sorry one one quick question since i have you and i always have questions for you and i always forget i should write them down because i always forget what i thought you can always ask me on patreon yeah i'm i'm here you can you can always what's up me yeah go for it go for it your audio is uh i don't know if it's me but the audio all right i think that's back i think i've done it all right let me just check is that okay
one second can you guys sorry about that i'm gonna have to cut that out let me see where what time is it it's always that time uh you're back can you guys hear me yep you can hear me i take it i had to just i don't know what went wrong i suppose technology i had to as always just get the wires it's good yep it's good okay let me add you guys um we've got here amna ali
how are you not sure usually i call people ah that's good it's so good where where are you joining us from america i am joining from seattle washington and i've just been commanded by my husband to just leave the room allah look at that what a what what a choice of words commanding yeah i just i just wanted to trigger the conversation oh that's that's good so okay so allah and i'm really grateful despite the command you've now decided to join us no i know
i'm joking i'm just i'm just missing so right uh okay uh what's up share with us what's on your thoughts and what's preoccupying your mind and how can we help if there's a question yeah there's one question i try to contact you via your you know facebook inbox and email but i know email as well okay yeah so this one you know uh when it comes to like i'm a student of marriage and family therapy and uh marriage or marriage and therapy okay yeah sure
exactly so and in my discourse there's a lot of debate about patriarchy misogyny chauvinism and me as a person i always say i necessarily do not have issues with patriarchy i see patriarchy is just as a you know if there's matriarchy patriarchy galatians yeah as long as it's working misogyny definitely i do have issues of course so but then there's one thing in islam when it comes about you know calling allah he or she there's some debate and i'm like i'm fine with that even with you know like
as a woman i do not see personally any issue if a woman is doing the you know leading the jamaa i don't see issues but then again it's not a big many and exactly and many scholars were felt the same as well there were many scholars that were of that view in islam but there's one thing that triggers me a lot is there is nothing i try to read hadith i try to read quran there's no exact mention that a woman is not supposed or is forbidden from praying and fasting during her menstruation i couldn't like that the hadith of aisha
that i would fast before the next ramadan comes it just means that she used to fast her missed fast doesn't say that she wasn't fasting because of menstruation it doesn't say that and uh the you know and like who told us not to fast if i i cannot fast for first three days yeah i'm in a very bad shape but after three days i can fast and i can pray i'm not sick so taking one ruling a sick person can may not fast and they can and then taking the other power that the woman is unwell so then
don't come close to her and merging them together and because this is not now patriarchy this is now someone is telling me i cannot pray like everyone else that's my relation to god that's not my relation to a man yeah of course of course i just want to one second i just want to double check you can hear me can't you i'm i'm just having some comments from people saying they can't hear me so i don't know um why that is so okay so as long as you can hear me i'm sure it's going through fine as well they can the viewers can hear as well right so
okay um i think yes of course what you're saying is on point and um so let me just uh break it down from my perspective you're absolutely right and i 100 agree that you see menstruation is not an illness like that and it's not uh whether people want to say if they're using it in a very loose term to say as in health is being impacted momentarily then fair enough but it's not an illness as in a disease or something negative and also more importantly i think this is more importantly and i
have got videos on this um and i've argued that menstruation is not and state of impurity so it is not a state of ritual impurity um there is um people associated with a ritual like a kind of a spiritual dirtiness and that is just inherited culture because the quran does speak about menstruation yes that they ask you um that they ask you about the the
menstrual cycle allah mentions nothing about yes he mentions that there could be some harm because they were asking more about physical intimacy and and you have to understand as well the society and the context and obviously is is a desert and you know it's not uh so there's many issues but allah never mentions that they are nudges or tell them not to stay away from the masjid and do all of this and and the women who may have stayed away from the masjid would have done so simply on uh kind of uh propriety grounds of if
you want to call it hygiene just because they didn't have the kind of sanitary pads and this kind of stuff that people have today and also the self-embarrassment and people don't want to just in case they're sitting and there's bleeding in the place and so people who would have refrained would have refrained from these propriety and etiquette issues not so much about it being an impurity and some scholars may have interpreted that as and they did certainly did interpret it as najas as impure and others their fatawa would show differently like imam malik saying that
a menstrual woman can read the quran she can touch the quran she can do this and some of the maliki are saying she can go to the mosque and i know some of the chef say that as well but my point is that there is a lot of this cultural clouding and this image has been inherited it's not just muslims many cultures had this image that the menstrual girl administration is somehow really impure like remove her from the house so in many hindu practices in other cultural practices they would make them actually sleep in a separate quarters and not even enter the premises because this is impure and this is wrong
is superstition it is anti-islam um there is nothing like that so that's just to and i i totally agree with you on all of these things and i i think we can't emphasize it enough we need to keep emphasizing this um because we need to remove these uh you know there's this uh israelite inherited uh practice of that the menstruation is somehow a punishment but on so what you are saying that you are telling the love and you know but there is one thing on which there is no enough yeah that the salah thing so i'm gonna come
to i'm gonna yeah i'm gonna come to that so i was just clarifying i was just kind of laying out the the foundation in saying that these things are important um in stating that there is this uh judeo-christian inherited belief of that that hawa eve was punished by for you know misleading adam by giving her menstrual pains and childbirth pains and all this stuff and this is nonsense it's not in the quran it's not from the prophet salallahu this is from the judeo-christian kind of traditions so okay so that's just very clear putting
putting it out there now the um the other thing is okay so once we've got that we understand now the question is right what about things like salah and song because on for example hajj the ulama are they disagree they say that no there's nothing stopping a woman uh from doing the hajj some said oh there is because she's in this ritual state of impurity some felt no it was just the sanitary thing so scholars did disagree on that historically that is the tawaf still valid and you've got the hanafi's actually allowing as well or saying it's still valid and some of the humblys and
ibn tamiya's famous here's an article on it as well saying the same thing the issue is about salah and so okay um muslims generally for the most part uh would say that the woman does not pray during her menstrual cycle and she does not fast now i would agree with you there is nothing in the quran that states that clearly and to be fair even in the hadith there are hadith like the one you cited from aisha condemning the other person saying is she here that is she
one of those deviant sects that what's wrong with her why why would she fast sorry why would she pray on her menstrual cycle um but you're right there is not a a series of hadith coming from the prophet saying this which one might assume they should be if if it was something so now what i wanted to highlight when i've answered this question before you see this has reached muslims mainly through the living tradition of islam this has been the inherited practice that people have generally inherited from on mass
i would say that you see when i've been asked this very same question should should women pray during the menstrual cycle i've said that this is this is a sadaka from allah it's not something that they are impure the hadith mentions that that when allah gives you a rosa he gives you a sadaka
don't kind of turn because there's this debate in fear that when allah gives you a roxa for something and a dispensation can you still ignore it and do it so let's say allah says you don't need to shorten the prayers and but you say but i don't want to shorten the prayers so can you do this and it's true that it's divided opinion but generally the malikis and the uh the hanafi's do argue this point that look this hadith that when allah is that the she gives you you should and must take his consider this a blessing that's what i've said from that ruling
that look um that people should see this in a positive light not in this dirty uh light of oh my god i'm filthy i'm impure as to where we don't find this in the quran or we don't fight we find it in some hadith but we don't find it in a plethora of hadith and that is true we don't but it is part of the inherited living tradition that means that in early islam people they learned islam you see islam was not taught contrary to what some people may anybody with a decent analytic frame of mind will know islam was not
taught via hadith islam was not taught by people saying okay i'm going to sit down today here's the hadith to teach this it was not taught like that islam was just taught from parent to child that was it and they just taught it like that was mostly like that and then some people may have for example turned up in a mask and just seen people and just done it like that it was a community kind of an uh an organic growth it had it wasn't something which was done academically it wasn't like oh we've got an institution these people are graduates from an institution and
that's a much later institutionalized process of islam of any faith so in early islam it was just taught by the living tradition so people just taught it and this is how they inherited it so the fact that that is how it was inherited i would feel personally i would feel very safe and sound and i would uh endorse that in saying that it was the inherited practice that women on a menstrual cycle don't pray and it's a rosa that that's how it's not an impurity it's a rosa but the question comes if somebody chose to still pray
if somebody said i'm gonna still pray to me as an individual i would find myself with those because the scholars here would be divided i accept the majority of the scholars maybe very condemning and saying oh my god how can you pray because they are tying it in with that impurity you see once you remove the impurity that it's a woman is not impure on her this is not an impurity it is a state that okay because there is blood loss and it does affect it is hormonal and it does it's it's it's definitely factual that it impacts even you know it impacts
mentally in the sense that people are stressed you are you know and this is it's something that unfortunately is then very regular so at that time allah has gifted them that look you don't even need to worry about salah just take care of yourself that's all you need to do and you know people there is and it is actual blood loss at the end of the day people should you know take care of their health consume properly do things plenty of water and stuff like this now that's how it is as a blessing but many scholars because they've associated it as impurity they would feel that no a woman if she
did do her salah on it then that salah is invalid and this is what the hell is a woman doing when she's impugned and that mentality is in in my understanding that's inaccurate i can see where they're taking it from they're coming from these interpretations and this baggage but if you take the understanding that a woman is not impure then the question is if she prayed what then so i would say well if she did it that's between her and allah it's her salah it's to allah why does it bother anyone else to me the teaching generally would be that look this is a gift from god to
them saying look just take care of you you are your number one right now manage you right you don't even need to worry about waking up at a certain time praying these praying and see as a as a beautiful blessing that it is if a person still chose to do it it's them it's their faith it's allah they they are you know who nobody else is really there to do to kind of enter and say to to kind of oh do this do that okay i so that's my answer on it i don't know if that's of much help but that's how i see it do you mind if i ask a follow-up question of course of course sure so my
thought process around this was that maybe it was never a practice and then came all the fake and then came all the philosophy that kind of got included in islam in which women was you know lower to men and then with that's when it became that you know you can't pray and you can't fast now fasting is more of a triggering thing for me for one reason as a woman and you know you you have studied psychology as well post menstrual pre-menstrual you know symptoms are pms pms yeah yeah for many women
they can get really wacky for many women that can that is actually more painful than periods and for many women they actually they become literally to the point not many women some women actually become kind of depressed and hysterical isn't it usually isn't it usually on the period no it's before it's usually a week before and if it's just i'm just going i'm just no i mean the because i know i'm not saying it's justified but that the typical um the typical understanding is that when people will say oh well the woman's on her period pms it's pre-menstrual
syndrome so it's pre so that's when usually women are actually not in good shape plus i mean are you saying that's most women they're most women that's actually because that's why it's called pre-menstrual syndrome not present i mean i get i get that but are you saying it happens to most women most women that is why the name is pre you know that is not during you feel that they are better on their period than they are when they're off the period fairly always so usually the way the cycle the medical cycle works it's like a week sometimes even 15 days for some but a week or so three two weeks to seven days
the hormones kind of get all fluctuated during first two three days they're in bad shape and then after that they start getting better because the cycle the hormonal cycle is getting better so if some woman and then there are rulings like you know oh if it's like five minutes before maghrib you have to fast again and now there's a woman like 18 hours fast i fasted the whole day five minutes earlier and my fast is invalid while this is not said anywhere in quran that my fast is invalid and you are now making me too fast outside ramadan when no one else has my house is a household is actually fasting
i am waking up at fajr too fast alone when no one else is so that's an extra so instead of giving me a roxa it's actually giving me a punishment not to do what to do the cooking and to do all of that before eat to eat before school so okay what's the opposite what's the opposite like just so i can compare so in seven days i didn't fast because i was feeling sick oh no because i wasn't feeling sick because i was told that i cannot fast in my menstruation so for seven days i didn't fast okay now
i have to make up those fast outside ramadan okay but that's that's a different there's a difference of opinion on but okay but carry on sure that's the main understanding that i have heard no right no no sorry you're right you okay you do me and then i i'm waking up but i'm waking up everyone is sleeping because i have to make up the fast when i personally i think if i wanted to take off days from fasting probably i would have taken it in my pms before like four days before my menstruation and three days in menstruation for example or maybe just two days i wasn't feeling like if my leg is hurting
i'm in pain but i'm fasting if my hand is hurting i'm fasting so if i'm on my respiration why can't like why can't not don't i i fast why am i told i can't fast when i can fast right okay so hmm i guess you know this is one of the the really this is why we need more women see somebody just said hey mufti you don't know see i don't have a period so i wouldn't know but uh
no i'm joking no i'm joking i'm just no there was one woman who replied back and actually you see that if you want to fast fast yeah sure you see i uh yeah so the the thing about i wasn't what you said is i um i don't know that i've heard of what you said pms and i've heard of also um um clearly i mean i'm sure most people have heard of that but i was under the impression that most women it's still worse on their period as opposed to that it's when during their period they have intense cramps and things like this that are very painful so and there's actual blood loss
and which is inevitably yes so there's an inevitably a physiological thing taking place and uh there's obviously the hormones and all of that so i it's not i would have assumed for most women that the actual period would probably be much more frustrating than uh before it i would have thought that so i'm just answering but the fact that if you feel most women are the other way it could it could equally be i mean i i don't it's not my i'm not i don't have any specialist knowledge in that so but what i would say is that you see the question here is
see this there's two different questions one question is that before my period when i'm going through my pms stage um it's bothersome to fast i don't want to fast i would say if this falls under the same thing of not being well because you're technically not well you see not being well is that's exactly what it is well you see you can be i could have a severe migraine and not be well and people have migraines as well with their periods don't they so uh now uh you see so if you're not well and you feel that look i'm i'm not you are
the ultimate judge of if you're well enough to fast and if you feel that look i'm not well enough to fast then don't fast so that's what i would say that's one question the other question is during the actual menstrual cycle i want too fast though so it's kind of on its head it's he flipped it on its head the general teaching that i would say i would go with the general teaching in saying that look this was the inherited practice and it's just it's a blessing from god you don't need to do it so i would that would be my teaching it would be that we go with the general tradition but if you did it like let's say you said look i asked
this lady she said to me why don't you fast and and that's my view i'm gonna fast let's say you say that's my view tk i mean it doesn't i don't think you know you oh my god you've committed some major you fast then it's not at the end of the day you i i it's not the general teaching that i would go by because i would see that this is the inherited tradition and i don't think it's a bad thing to be honest uh if some if i if i got a couple of days off every ramadan i think i think most guys would be quite chilled with it but uh i think or if i got a couple of days off with salah you say you don't need to pray
to me so to people they think well i don't see what the issue is that you know it's just you're just getting time off you're not doing extra work you're doing less but if you still went ahead and did it i don't see that it's not like to me that's not like oh my god this is the end of the world like what's the difference you just chosen to do it it's your relationship it's you and god at the end of the day you did it you did it it's as simple as that i i don't um that's that's where i stand i wouldn't i do have trust in the um what's this
right i do have trust in sorry it's just trying to see some of these comments um [Music] right so i do have trust in the in the tradition not being the way you said i you see even from an anthropological view that's not how the tradition came together even if you just look at it imagine you de-religionize it and you just use your own brain and that you just use your own analysis or anthropological analysis to understand how communities form practices you would know that they don't perform them how you're saying academically they
they wouldn't you know the way you're saying that for example people all did something then they all got brainwashed into another that's that's quite a um it could work but it's very hard work considering that the muslim ummah before the madhabs got formed so by the year uh 90 was it three history or something andalus muslims had entered spain uh so this is what less than 90 years after the prophet uh so and like for example imam malik passes away in 179 history so it's like that's yet much more at this stage
muslims haven't even began writing hadith and they've already entered europe so for the communities to be this diverse and then they all brain wash everyone to forget a practice it's that would require incredible kind of synchronized engineering which even in this day of mass technology we wouldn't be able to it totally pull off so i i would find that very difficult that they managed to brainwash the entire muslim community everywhere and eradicate a practice and counter-embed it with a different
practice it's very conspiratorial and too difficult so i would feel i i would go with that this was the inherited practice and it but i agree with you there are not many hadith there are some but they're not many and and that is enough to for somebody to raise a question in saying well hmm why are there not many hadith but then this is why some of the early schools distinguish between hadith and sunnah and they said that the hadith are not the sunnah necessarily yeah so that's uh i don't i hope that's uh
um uh i hope yeah somebody mentioned something about the mic no no i hope that's fine you can hear so yeah i hope that i don't know if that gives you much see what i would say is what i would say is look if you pray you pray at the end of the day you're not you're not doing any harm to anyone you're not abusing someone you're offering some devotion to god so it's you know at the end of the day your heart is coming from a place of love for this deen for ibada for for god it doesn't to me it doesn't concur with the
inherited living tradition that was long ago inherited it doesn't concur with that but i understand you're still you're coming from a place of love and compassion for the deen you're not coming from a place of i want to harm people so ultimately you're you're just praying to god but i i would see it in some ways like if someone said if someone said for example i want to pray for raqqa's where does it say i can't and where's the hadith that says i can't now in fact to be honest with you that no way in the quran doesn't even mention of salah or anything this is the living tradition it was just inherited now if somebody said but i want to do it out of
love for god i get that they're not actually harming anyone and it's not you know they're not abusing anyone they're just coming from a place of love for god and for devotion but it's not the inherited tradition that was inherited so i would personally advise to stick with the inherited tradition i do have it's not the way it's not been some kind of conspiracy theory because it's too big for that um that's how i would see it i end i don't think however the person is an evil person a person's a sinner i wouldn't use these words some people may use these words and i i think that's you're just adding fuel
this person isn't coming from that angle they're not coming to harm the dean they're coming from a place of compassion but um yeah that's my view but if people do it you know we we all are on our own path ultimately to you know of devotion so yeah yeah i think i would yeah i hope it's of some help i i don't you know i i i suppose we tried you know we try to give some some words of some meaning i don't know if it really hits the mark maybe it does maybe it doesn't no i mean the thing is here what you said there are not many females all their mind
those who are are so traditionalists and they do not want to challenge anything and so i i'm x years old but i'm fine i have been raised this way and it doesn't bother me much but there was a student of mine a female who said why can't i give a khutva on juma in my school i'm a better speaker than the boys who are giving hotaba and the questions and the questions are coming my daughter right now is six years old she's going to ask these questions when i'm thinking about these questions about equality yeah about just like and that's a that's a dif that's such an
important topic and i feel that we honestly need to step out and in this topic there is misogyny and and sometimes it's not sometimes it's just so ingrained that it's not recognized as misogyny like even the people doing it don't think they're being misogynist but they are because that you see they've just they've just been brought up with it as well so they just think no this is just normal but we have to recognize that look really uh a woman a woman leading salah the salah is valid it is not invalid and there is a there has always been a difference of opinion and it is even in
some hadith that the some women led people in prayer and it's there and the woman giving her i definitely agree that women in fact i would feel on many occasions you know if in certain especially uh sociological studies you find on par women are often more articulate than their male counterparts not always but it is often the case that women are very good with words and they definitely use a lot more as is often a male complaint
they like they say that what is it the average words that a person speaks on a date they say they say that the i don't know is it something like 3 000 or something that a man uses and a woman is like double that so they say when a man comes home from work she's still got that whole quota to go that's a it's a joke but but it's got some facts about how words are used by male and females so i i agree with you and i think women are are very articulate they can be anyway and giving khutbah there's nothing there's nothing wrong with a woman giving a
khutbah but you we are we have these stereotypes and we have these problems and these problems unfortunately right now are right now in the very immediate now are going to take time to disappear they are so ingrained in the in the fabric of the of the society that the muslim society that it's gonna take like you said you've got a six-year-old my zara myself as also she's just turned seven they will probably have to be you know probably our a my age
i'm sure i'm on my shoulder right so uh my age you have to you see this this is etiquette [Laughter] so this is to ensure longevity of life when speaking to a woman you are always older okay by default this much older this is how it always works i agree so yeah and i i feel that when they reach my age maybe they will be drastic change because it's gonna take you know unfortunately i hate to say but sometimes it's like it's been said that it's not the ideas but the people carrying them have to die out and a new
generation has to replace them uh and yeah so maybe but it's good that the discussions are happening i would encourage as well that you know on this discourse that as well try to understand both and this isn't for you this is just saying because we were saying this and the views let's say they're listening whoever listens to this i would also encourage that sometimes i find in society this is the broader society not even muslims i find that some elements of society are pitting men against women and this is i i think it's disastrous i feel that it
we it's definitely a poison that we should avoid all of it men women everyone uh i i think everyone not and especially muslims but is restricted to muslims that we work much pros you know with much more prosperity in harmony with one another there is this kind of uh this kind of man-hating element in society and there is also this misogynistic that kind of looks down on women then and
i mean i suppose it's that chicken egg kind of argument but i but i feel that look it's both wrong um i do see sometimes some i i see people message i see on social media i do find young women uh i see and see this is strange because maybe it's because i'm i'm you know not seeing the full picture but i see unfortunately a lot more i'd say i see more from women sometimes young women falling into that and this doesn't even have to be muslim they fall into that very you know this kind of um kind of rhetoric of man-hating rhetoric
that anything that is uh masculine is toxic this kind of stuff and and i feel that really it's a poison i hope the younger generation avoid because it doesn't do any good and this is why some of these questions i not that they hopefully they never are but that we be careful they don't come from that uh angle they're not not coming from this just for the sake of rebellion that we're just kind of causing you know like you know like down with the patriarchy
no no i mean i i feel that it's it's ironic because in most muslim cultures it's women who run the households and it's it's a very matriarchal familial structure and in most muslim it's ironic because people say that you know it's very patriarchal but within the household the woman usually is is he's like the powerhouse i'll have a five hours uh mind trap on this and i will destroy doing that you know what okay send me a message on instagram and will instagram we'll we'll we'll oh okay what what do you okay do you already you said you have my
email yeah so yeah from facebook yep so message me on uh send me an email and what we'll do is we'll set it up and it'll be great to get you on a mine trap and talk about your you know with relationship counseling the kind of stuff problems you're facing and we can talk about that i think it'll be great i'm not it's been an absolute pleasure uh hearing your thoughts and concerns shukran for sharing your time people it's interesting huh perspectives perspectives right we've got uh safe diab waiting patiently look at this allahu akbar and then i think shall we
wrap it up after that so safe assalamu alaikum are you on mute are you on mute or am i a mute or is the world on mute no no i'm not a mute so ah right so no i i check your mute thing it doesn't say mute next to it does it say on your
it's probably you know the mic it's probably got a dash on it no your mic he's probably thinking yeah what is he yeah what is this [Laughter] what kind of gestures is mufti giving me can you hear me you can hear me oh he can hear us can you try
speaking oh no is your your screen okay you can hear us why am i overdoing it like your screen does it have a mic with a dash on it is it on okay i can see you unmuting it there okay if you click on your settings and check which mic is plugged in yep there something came on there right there something happened there for a moment no i heard it
safe one minute sure no problem you want to set it i tell you what you set it i'm uh can you can you you want to reset it or do something yeah okay and and what i'll do is i'll just just join back again okay i'm putting the link same link back there there you go i've shared the link uh what's this hero saying mike tyson is a wally hero rodriguez claroque claroce
you see as it's the faces we see the the hearts we don't um yeah i do feel mike tyson is is a wally in the sense you have to understand what i mean obviously if you're going to take it to mean i don't know what a person means by what you see do they understand by the term wali someone who just prays a lot that's not how i understand it sure if you understand it like that that's fine then by that standard he probably isn't
um you see i understand it by people who people of heart you know people who have heart and and you say well how do you know it's something you see this is it those people will just know and if they if they can't tell they can't tell he he has this transfer i am honestly i'm i'm so appreciative to to have been able to witness this transformation of such a legend like mike tyson because he is um you know he's gone from this raging bull [Laughter]
to this compassionate loving you know amazing person who's just so preoccupied with just human love and just wanting to care for people and spread a message of peace and um and that that is something you see so yeah okay we've got safe the air back assalamu alaikum safe
i can but you're very low i can hear you but it's just it's low is it from the the phone and that's why maybe it's so distant it's not on your i take it it's not on you is it using your it doesn't sound like it's using the earpods is it is it using them it might be using them for speakers using them for mic as well okay how about yeah that's better that's better that's better yeah that's better a lot better it's absolutely fine awesome awesome it's
great yeah [Laughter] see some people you know what it is it says somebody said that they said that uh i'm so loving the new my tyson that i'm beginning to believe that what's his name
what was his name the who had the ear bit ah anyway he's saying that i'm beginning to feel that he he needed to have his ear bit right okay we've got a safety app once again third time let's go okay now third time all right see third time does it third three's a charm that's it wow so ah safety up where are you joining us from again oh new york city for the views nyc big apple people nyc next to my name next time now it's good to just ask people because you know for the viewers as well just to
there there might be people from new york on here that go whoa bloody oh my god safe what are you doing so what's going on i've got a question for you about the dmt stuff um let's say sacred medicine you mean the secret medicine right so if you get if you get like legalized and like it's on the market like don't you think you would do more harm than good because hum yeah because like i feel like no no i don't think it would be muham because i feel like people will misuse it though like they'll be like in this you know you
know you have seen the matrix right where people are like inside this machine and like trapped into it i feel like once they get that they will just use it a lot to the extent of the just in the matrix to step right to stand off to what do you think they would okay give me an example like let's add a bit more color and detail too when you say people that you abuse it get draw us a picture of like what does that look like use their money to get the empty and just spend the whole day taking it or like just you know so they become like basically like junkies yeah addiction and
chunky lifestyle and like basically like people on crack cocaine or something exactly or like i'm not against drugs like you know because coffees are true no you should you should be on certain drugs i mean crack cocaine and stuff like that is an abomination so first of all that's not how these sacred medicines work so they have zero addiction there's no there's been there's been many clinical studies on dmt actually dmt has been quite studied it there's zero dependency created in fact it's that powerful that the human it's the only uh medication that also results in zero tolerance developed by the the recipient
so even after 20 doses when they did it on animals or on people like i know dr rick straussman did a lot of studies when he could before it was illegal and other people did as well in certain countries where it is still legal uh scientists and stuff like this and you can see that it not only does it it creates zero depend there is no addiction or dependency but it doesn't you don't develop a tolerance to it either it's the only thing you don't that they know clinically you don't develop tolerance to so you wouldn't need more to experience or encounter yeah yeah yeah but how else was that the only
way they would go wild they would i think they just become just druggies is this with is this or did you have another image in mind well that's what i like that's what i'm afraid of because like you know i'm like i'm not like against okay so so okay so this so just to there is a bit of uh uh kind of like a clipping going on yeah my phone is overheating um okay sure right so no i mean it's fine it's just that your voice is fine it's just clipping or what i can do is maybe yeah mute it and then
it won't come through like that so okay now you see these are so sacred medicine is not the same as when you say drugs although it is technically a drug in the sense that paracetamol is a drug but you don't say when taking ibuprofen i'm taking drugs or this person is doing drugs because he's having paracetamol or antihistamine or even though they are technically if you want to use a very broad uh term of drugs um then all of everything is drugs and you know but that's not how we use it in the world so drugs are usually referred to things
which are recreational and done to create a sense of numbing and they phase people out with it in the sense that they can use it to just forget about stuff and forget about their sorrows and anxieties and then it's it's used in that sense and it's recreational this is usually a very important element in when people use the term drugs so medicine why is medicine not being called a drug in that sense because it's not being used recreationally medicine doesn't so you don't just say hey let me just pop a paracetamol because it's fun
nobody does that you don't just say hey let me eat some antibiotics because it's fun so this it's not fun to eat antibiotics it's not fun to eat um so you don't call it drugs in that sense because drugs is associated with recreation leisure use fun have a laugh this sacred medicine is is not it's it's not most the ones you're speaking of they're not fun there's nothing fun about them they are incredibly overwhelming there are an entire i mean you you experience on many of these an actual death you go through what is called ego death and you actually face death and
you know it's death you're looking in the face and you know you are dying in that moment there's nothing fun about that you wouldn't do it to get a kick out of it in fact it would it literally is the most horrific experience you will face because you are actually your ego is actually dying it is being annihilated and then you traverse that into a transcendental bliss and a oneness in the presence of god you are literally in the presence of god and you experience that non-duality and this is there's nothing fun that part is bliss it is no more thoughts no more ego just consciousness
um it is it is something that atheists come out of as theists they believe in god because it's too powerful not to this you would i can't personally picture a person that would want to do that every day um it it's so powerful you know the experience is not it's like it's like saying this is the equivalent this is going to sound like a ridiculous analogy but it's like saying i know let's say i i i need some force i need to open this let's say i need to get through something i need some force let's ram let's knock this door down let's say we need a bit of force or we need to open something
so the force we're going to apply is an atom bomb that's just ridiculous nobody would apply an atom bomb because it would just it's way too powerful that's what these things that you're speaking of are like they're not like in any sense of the word recreational maybe some people thinking their recreational may try to explore them but believe me once they do explore them and they have their their soul is ripped out of their body they they would never go back in a flashback to think let me do it again for fun i mean maybe okay maybe a one-off person may that they
get so much into that buzz of i want to experience death i want to keep experiencing death but most people it is terrifying beyond measure when you go through death and yes once you go through it into ego death into that sense of oneness you at that point there is bliss but it and then coupled with the fact there's zero chemical addiction it's very difficult to so it doesn't work the way you're saying it so let's take societies that do have it as part of their culture especially the more what are seen as primitive
societies let's say people living in the in the amazon that have had this for thousands and thousands of years as sacred medicine do they take this every day like a like a junkie no nobody does that because it's it's not like that it doesn't it's not like you're comparing it to people taking crack cocaine who do it because it gives them such a high they forget all their problems they just experience this amazing feeling and then it gets out of their blood and then they crave it mentally they need that kind of dopamine and they need that kind of rush that's a totally different chemical reaction it's a totally different
physiological reaction it's a totally different mental and spiritual reaction people who do that are often not spiritual they are uh people that are trying to escape this not this yet they are trying to escape the the the pain of this world so they take drugs or they take alcohol to numb their pain people who are on this path are often people seeking god or people who are they too may wish to escape this world but not in that sense not because of her pain but because they want to experience what
reality with the capital r may look like and and so so it's very different people on a very different it's like saying two people are holding a knife one is a surgeon and one is a killer they they both technically cutting into an individual but with very different intents and very different purposes so yeah that's what i would say not that i'm advertising or [Laughter] but yeah i hope that uh helps look at sauron osman god bless you and your family shukran shukra and much love for the super chat did you does that uh
i know you're still on mute is that okay i hope that makes some some sense i can't hear you right now you're on mute uh yep that's better yeah yeah you're off yeah it was good okay thank you oh no i want you because i'm coming up oh bad but yeah my phone is over no cool but i i think it's a very good sugar and sugar and much love yep of course i think that's a very good question and it's a shame that people are you know we are brain you know we spoke of brainwashed we are often conditioned in many ways that we don't even recognize um
we don't you see people earlier on we had uh amna who was speaking about misogyny and and we said look often people that may con that may conduct or be a part of misogynistic practices often may not even know and if you ask them they may condemn misogyny and say don't be stupid i i hate misogyny i'm not a misogynist but they are because it's so ingrained in the kind of uh in their dna almost you know they've had this going on for so
um and it's the same thing with many blind spots when that's the thing about a blind spot we're not aware of them so similarly in culture there's a lot that we are programmed but we're just not aware of it and things like this are very interesting because they bring up that from an anthropological and psychological perspective that for example to what extent has nixon's war on drugs influenced you and me today in our perception of drugs now you may think well i haven't even heard of nixon
my point exactly but yet you will be possibly to some extent influenced by nixon's war on drugs and remember nixon had a lot of you know there was a lot of stake his presidency in the whole thing and and you know the scandal the whole uh very famous watergate scandal and so the issue is that nixon declaring his war on drugs and thereby prohibiting certain drugs and getting the international community on his side to to ban drugs in their country and many of that is a good thing i agree
with banning things like heroin and all these drugs are absolutely an abomination um crack cocaine and all this stuff it devastates people but in his war on drugs where did they stretch it to and many of us today without even knowing we are a product of that because what he did was got governments on board what governments did he's got departments on board what departments did is made policies policies were then taught they became the practice they are then just
big part of academic syllabi they are what are passed on and before you know it becomes the norm and you see so this is why it is always good to look at societies that are not a part of this propaganda things like that where people may call today primitive the amazonian cultures you know why why see how they practice certain things what are their views on certain things they're human beings i mean don't and if you look down on them then that's part of the bigotry you think well they they're not savages just because they don't
they don't have a cement concrete jungle they live amongst nature that they may be you know much closer to humanity than you and me so i feel that it is interesting where we're getting and i'm not saying that look i'm not saying people should all go and do these things i'm not saying that uh i'm not saying that things like these uh let's sacred medicines are for everyone they're not for everyone okay just as almost anything is not for everyone
but i do think that we have way too many biases we are quite subconsciously we may be a victim of a lot of bigotry without realizing it yeah so and yeah and i i i don't advise people to to go do this in that sense i you see everybody's on their own path this is not a path not everybody will walk this path [Laughter] not everybody can possib maybe not even everyone can handle such a path
i don't know but they say that the path calls you and it doesn't that if such a time is there that it will call upon you and you will know it allah somebody asked me to as a question juice what a tag name that juice defined consciousness um if you mean define it scientifically that is the that is a million dollar question scientists can't do it the best of minds can't do it i doubt it i will be able to uh but if i was to give some some words uh first of all religiously to me it is synonymous with
the term um it is the so in arabic in islam in religious sense what we call the rule in english we would call consciousness you can call it the spirit but the spirit the problem with the term spirit is over the centuries it's got institutionalized and consciousness hasn't so i prefer the term consciousness um it is the thing that gives it's the lights are switched on with it if i can i don't know if that makes sense with consciousness the lights are switched on within us
we have an awareness okay i feel that consciousness the rule is not within us but that we tap into it so it is probably non-local consciousness i feel that the way the phone picks up a signal so we pick up a signal and then what happens is that signal obviously is picked up within us because we do pick it up but it's not restricted within us and the interplay of that signal with this unique
individual body and genes set of genes results in an unique and individual personality so for example you could have in one family you could have two siblings five siblings six siblings same parents same set of you know genome structure same genetics dna their personality can be entirely different entirely different same environment i accept that some personality is socialized okay it is a product of
its nature versus nurture there is some which is definitely this epigenesis takes place but there is an element of personality that is just unique and inherent to that individual that is what that is the nafs in the islamic term that self that emerges it's not just the physical self it is the personality with that self so a good example is the movie split incredible movie on d.i.d the dissociative identity disorder so you see this character who's the same character in the movie
he plays so many different identities he has what used to be called multiple personality disorder nowadays they call it dissociative identity disorder and when people have this they switch identity switch personalities they become an entirely different person so you can see this character that's the actor playing that so well that his whole personality changes the body is still him it's the same person but all of a sudden he's this boy he's acting like a boy he he speaks like a boy and then all of a sudden he's this man then he's this woman then he's this and he has these different
uh personalities that he plays out this personality that we have is the nafs okay and and that is unique to us because it is an integration of the meeting this physiology and then with some element of socialization as well taking place so and this is why consciousness is the most difficult thing to pin down in modern studies in modern physics or modern anything it's science it can't it does not know where to begin with consciousness truly speaking especially physicists
and when i went to a lecture by it was bernard carr i believe but he was a student of an associate of stephen hawkings and he is an amazing lecturer where he was where they they were trying to come up with he was trying to come up with he's a great physicist um he was proposing a theory that could unite
m theory with multiverse so if you go down into ten dimensions m theory going into string theory possibly going right up to obviously from the galaxies to the universe to multiverse and and to unite them all and he was proposing that the missing element and he had a he called it the universal uh i've forgotten the universal structure and he said he was working on it and he was proposing it as an official um [Music] as an as official research that the missing element in all of these
is consciousness is m for mind and that and he's hoping somehow to propose through mathematics and physics a astrophysics a structure that incorporates the m for mind in m theory and multiverse theory to combine them and this you see this may just sound stupid to people but or it may sound i don't know like just like waffle but i hate to say but that's because because you just don't understand physics and you don't and that's the truth most people don't understand physics and they
don't understand things like i mean does anybody truly understand quantum physics in the word of feynman richard feynman but they don't understand quantum physics and it's illogical according to aristotelian logic it doesn't work in accordance to that they don't understand dimensions what are the ten dimensions they don't know what the ten dimensions are or the eleventh dimensions that's the other alternate mathematics and some i know beyond that they propose 26 dimensions but it's not as stable mathematically so people don't understand these things so they to them it sounds silly like they think oh the consciousness is just like oh i'm
conscious i'm awake that's not like in that sense in that sense even plants are conscious if you're using conscious to mean that they're just alive um but i mean consciousness in the sense that the lights get switched on all of a sudden you're not just acting on instinct and this is why the quran and i find this so majestically expressed that when the prophet is asked about the rule check this out they asked the prophet about this about the yes
it would have been all too easy to say that is the spirit that inhabits the body you see it would have been all too easy and everybody would have accepted it because back then i'm sure these kind of beliefs would have been very easy to accept if if the quran was to say oh it's just like a ghost-like figure you know how today people think of spirit they think of this kind of ghost floating inside you that comes out quran yes say it's this thing or whatever it is
fikum and you know it's this thing that oh innahumith it is like you inside you whatever this it could have said something because some people think it's a ghost version of you but that's not what the quran said well like these are the things that really you know blow my mind when i look at the quran when people ask me about its miraculous nature it says look at the answer it just says
this is a matter now people could say amur can mean command as well he can it can mean mata afe like that that this is fair enough it could be command or mata whatever of my lord woman [Laughter] wow
and you have only uncovered a small amount of knowledge about it what's so what's so difficult to say that it's just a ghost inside you that people could comprehend that easily they could understand that in fact that would have fitted in quite nicely but to say that that's yet you have only been given a very small understanding of this the knowledge surrounding it that this too much of it that is incomprehensible for mankind yet that that is
consciousness that is why today physics doesn't know where to begin with consciousness where do you begin with it god damn it's not the neural correlates of you know people think it's the neural coral it's as pathetic i mean these people haven't even they could study the psychological studies i remember when i discussed with uh one of the atheists i think it was actually i think it was with abdullah gundam we suggested it's the neural correlates oh he suggested it's in the brain which is the neural correlate theory that's totally unfounded and in fact the study shows to the contrary you can just read the psychological studies neural correlates and even if they are
neural correlates for consciousness you see it's there's no directionality just to say that look if because we're conscious of something certain parts of of the brain light up but that could be the reaction of consciousness what's to say it's causing consciousness do you understand so it's not that's that's like saying imagine something in my phone like the screen messed up on the phone and so it's blank so you say oh well the phone doesn't work so it was the screen that was giving life to the phone but it wasn't how do you it's the phone
that was making the screen you know light up but even let's say one of the common theories or if the brain gets damaged people lose consciousness that's true because that's the apparatus by which we can function and integrate consciousness now if the apparatus is gone then obviously we we can't integrate it that's like saying i take the battery out now the phone doesn't work say well tk the phone don't work he said well obviously so was the battery creating the signal and the wi-fi no it wasn't so even in that view directionality is
incredibly difficult to a causation you can't prove causation by neural correlates you can you can say there's some neural correlates but how do we know they're not a byproduct of consciousness which they most likely are and sir roger penrose he has a lot of work on this one of the most leading mathematicians in the world today an absolute legend he he he's he's on he's been on joe rogan's show as well and many others he's absolutely just a legend of this era he he has a theory as well that consciousness is picked up by the microtubules in the brain at a quantum level
so people i think i've spoken enough on that let's wrap this up it's it's getting late as always it's been an absolute pleasure um isis harrison much love shukran for the super chat i dearly appreciate it um it's it's all your love really and is consciousness like the operating system of the human um is it the operating system no it's it's not the operating system because i don't know what that would mean the operating system it's the awareness one
thing i will say about consciousness before totally wrapping this up we often think who who we are truly at times we um you see we identify with a a kind of a thinking stream in our heads there's a voice in all of all of us have a voice inside our heads which is which is the thinking voice the
that talking telling and we we realize it we hear it we become aware of it we notice it it's you see one way to see it is you start to grasp a better understanding of consciousness or practically speaking not this isn't about knowledge this is about that journey that last path being on that path to consciousness is when you start to become aware and
realize that you know that thinking voice is not the real deeper you you are the one that notices and becomes aware of that voice think about that and that will be your journey to manhattan whosoever knows themselves knows their lord people i'll
wrap this up if you haven't already subscribed liked the usual drill go for it do like subscribe share spread the love um you know the usual drills those of you that want to go a step further and want to be part of something just outside of these weekly sessions you are welcome to patreon um i do have a mindscape server that's linked to that and we have different things on there which include one-to-one kind of uh consultations or perspective sessions and i have actually recently i've been really glad
i've been really enjoying for a little while just recently i've been introduced to an app uh calendly and it's it's it's really i'm totally loving it and it allows people to just schedule in their own appointments so it makes life so much more easier uh so i've been using that yes so i've been absolutely loving it so people just booked themselves in with the appointment and i just uh that's it then we just have it i don't have to anymore worry about the you know because sometimes people talk to you and then you get distracted and this and that and ah then you're like oh my god i had an appointment so now the app has been working wonders
i'm loving that so that is available separate as well if people want to just they don't want to be a part of the patreon just 101 or one off one two one one two one man one two one don't worry man you can just uh you can reach out to me on instagram um or on any of the the means the the kind of mediums and what i'll do is i can send you the link to book yourself in obviously all of these are um just um they're just mediums really and pathways to connect and inshallah spread some positivity love and help wherever we can guys take care of yourselves
as always remember your your dose of love and laughter may allah keep you all smiling
