1:51

I thought God it's been too long we need to get back into things there is a Baraka there is a goodness and as I'm setting this up today you know there's so many things you leave something for just months you know you leave it for just months and it's like you're everything become It all becomes a stranger again you know where is this cable oh I forgot that there used to be a cable that would connect this to this and then I'm

2:30

setting it up and I'm like well oh of course of course there was a then and you know it's gone over an hour I'm trying to take out a cable I'm trying to find the Allah you know in many ways that is a a metaphor for life really you know you leave something for a little while and then it becomes a stranger

3:03

this is uh but how have you guys been Allahu Akbar all right bless you look at this yeah I need to I thought I wanted to come and just speak to you guys it's been so long and I want to from next week get on to something more productive and constructive something that leads it builds up it and I'd like to inshallah God willing

3:42

from next week to begin a tafsir and I know I used to do tafsir of different ayat as it was but what if we just began the actual tafsir of the Quran going through I think it will be it'll be amazing it'll be you know a beautiful opportunity to engage I'm hoping to take if I can four pages of the Quran each time I'm I'm in two minds whether four or five if I take four then in five sessions we'll complete the Jews

4:20

if I take five then in four sessions we'll complete a juice I'm in two two minds let's see let's see how it unfolds but yeah so people it's been what can I say man it's been one hell of a ride honestly you know I've not really spoken to you guys since my mum passed and

4:51

I see this today as uh you know New Beginnings like that um or sugar and much love for the super charts flaming Falcon Allah Allah bless you and we had here ddpp yeah all right let me just see some of your comments people what's been going on

5:25

as always a superstar amongst the many superstars who've really been always just so checking in with me and just yeah and I want to speak about uh just the whole process and and things and how I've been but not just not just so much about me but about people and about the process that other people are experiencing but let me just check some of your comments first

5:54

missed your content well it's gonna be right back now right ayubal Maliki damn where have you been this is the question where have I been Allah you stand people we have zubair from Houston International I like it uh New York One Bourbon all right so we want bukhari gate 2.0

6:32

[Laughter] you know I have thought about having a discussion on bukhari gate the the challenge is often the same it's difficult to find people to have a discussion with then I have thought because I could at some point go over it again like redo it but with a uh you know more up-to-date yeah you know there's been other arguments that have been really fascinating that I've stumbled upon since I first did bukhari gate arguments still for bukhari gate as in

7:11

the the concept but I think also with a more you know it's been many years since I've done bukhari game what was it is it 2018. so it's been at least five years and in five years there's been it's been a lot I've I feel I've matured so much and and the discourse has developed further there's been other you know um there's been information on the topic that's also come to light I think it would be a fascinating

7:51

discussion to do maybe redo at some point or what would be better is to have a conversation with someone about it but that keeps it more Dynamic but it's difficult because people wouldn't you know they wouldn't really uh engaged in a one-to-one friendly in a friendly conversation I don't mean in a well debate sense but in a nice sense I'll share some thoughts with you on some um some interesting finds on this whole uh

8:28

you know which is the the buhari gate project but I'll come back to that let me check your comments remind me remind me people um all right shukran Allah bless you shallow Waters there is wisdom honestly there is so much wisdom in taking a break from social media um right there is so much wisdom honestly my hip while I was waiting till I watched your old clips

9:08

Allah bless you um this right so I will are the things mostly displays just messages from the live chat yep they are offline they are just chats uh super chats as well but yeah I nominate

9:35

I mean you know it's not about uh one particular we've got salaam from Rotterdam um you know it's not about uh a particular I don't welcome anyone they don't even really need to be a [Music] you know they don't need to be somebody that's you know the problem is we want too much drama you know we want action and action you know

10:08

to people it's like yeah you know there's that you know what film is it where Anil Kapoor where he says he says to the guy he says he says uh he says [Laughter] you know to just keep going down the rabbit hole that you know the Jessica the what's that this uh

10:45

that kind of buzz you won't get it by going straight this is not nowadays you got to be careful or watch your words what they mean but as in being on the you know the Titan narrow so people want drama somebody's saying where's the Masala look at this Mufti Masala please you know I've left all of this I feel like I've you know in these past few years I feel like I've been through so many like to me these past I don't know like let's say three four

11:24

years two at least definitely two three years I feel like decades like I've been through you know I'm just telling you this is how I've experienced them I'm not I don't mean that that's yeah so all this entertainment all this here Jessica people wanted Jessica isn't it you know the what's that uh

11:54

well there's uh a quote a Punjabi one that it's a I mean it's it's actually that foreign I think it might be a song as well actually you know that we've we've ruined ourselves but at least we had fun this is the no people no you know there comes a time where we must find ourselves be a bit more grounded in

12:33

life this is um it's necessary yeah it's a part of life it's part of development a part of aging a part of um neighbor our local local fellow neighbor Allah right Mufti is back shukran hit the like I like it Allah bless you all how are you doing Mufti can be a narrator for audiobooks

13:13

why not let's narrate them no there's too much you know honestly I've really if I invest money in traditional trading to my friend is it haram small will become Haram how will investment become Malik D is looking for ways that how to how this question sounds like how how will my investment become Haram

13:39

I'm sure you mean it the other way as in how not to how to prevent from so right I don't have spices or things like this somebody's saying what's the email you requiring your scholarly on a project I'm currently working on show Allah bless you cursive do send it again I will take a look I will look out for it uh right now so people yeah it's been one hell of a journey you know I I just feel that the last few years have

14:17

there's been a lot you know and I think it's amazing you know how things unfold and where they go from where to where and I was thinking the last time I took a four month break was following the incident that was about now two and a half years ago and then I took about four months and you know and that time I found myself

14:48

in a certain in the months that followed in the months that followed that because of taking a break and focusing on myself and other things and whilst practicing mindfulness and now I found myself you know on a plane of Consciousness in a state in a vision if you like and these things can be done by and and children was similar different experience with when my mom was going through her cancer that in the first one

15:28

I underwent an actual ego there an actual you know where you in your perception in your sense of reality whatever that is to you as an individual that you feel that you under you've undergone a death like in that moment you know it to be death and as real as more real than this right

16:06

now what we are experiencing and and everything dissolved and then to find yourself not in a state of body but in a state of consciousness but in the present before God for an eternity you know what felt to me at that time when I returned from that I felt it had been this is what it

16:45

obviously wasn't but to me it felt 80 years I was gone that was the number that I put on it obviously that wasn't the case you know when now these things they change your life you know you you see the world in a different way like that this Dunya it isn't you know what are we doing in this Dunya why are we wasting our time why are we

17:23

you know why and what why are we so um deep in this Rat Race and it's not about this is not to put down the efforts of of working hard in this Dunya but why are we so lustful about this Dunya have it enjoy it celebrated you know the beautiful Dua that is

18:01

just don't place it in our hearts so it's not a call to asceticism to becoming a hermit but it's to say that what are we doing man like people we carry around we Harbor ill feelings towards people we you know every person is on a struggle they are on a journey that is difficult for them you know we just can't see it they all carrying pain and and

18:39

see feeling and experiencing this realization in in very in in high resolution that Journey so that began at least probably about two years ago now and since then many things honestly it's just been so and I must say somebody who I really has helped me you know vicariously from a distance I consider a Sheikh to me without even knowing it has been you know may Allah bless him just his his lectures had

19:19

really just I don't know they just boosted this humanity and this kind of love and this spirituality in me and so that's what's been going on and then you know a lot of this and then with my mom's thing the cancer which went on for the better part of a year about nine you know nine months ten months that the whole thing was that in itself was so transformative and it made me think that so many people are going through this kind of stuff

19:58

you know we just don't think about it we don't realize we don't take out time you know since my mum passed at least three if not more you know who are like good friends that I've known um appearance of theirs has had a terminal illness some most of whom cancer but you know in some case maybe not cancer but another and I've I thought yeah Allah you know time and and then going through

20:36

something you gain a realization because it does something to you man you're not the same person that comes out on the other end of the storm you're just not because you I and I guess it's all Asha but then Dunya you know the Dunya is in and of itself I guess you know by default it guarantees sufferings so I guess what we can do is at least smile in the face of it

21:13

because you know anybody can cry in the face of suffering smile well that's it's happening anyway [Laughter] you know why not it's and but it's you know wow it made me thinking and it's tough for everyone I think people you know those who've lost somebody close to them in in the first person that I've experienced it there's people who suddenly go

21:51

and that has its own trauma that you know but yesterday I was speaking to them and you could have just been speaking to somebody a friend of mine his his good friend who he would regularly see in the gym wasn't even old and he said oh I'll see you tomorrow and he said well you know I won't be in tomorrow I'll see you after the weekend and next day the guy dies he goes to sleep just doesn't wake up reasonably fit healthy Young ish like I think he may have just been

22:29

yeah early 40s not that's not that old so you know that has a trauma the sudden side and then there's the gradual you know the attritional wear and tear watching somebody you that you just cannot help apart from you know and they and they just withering and breaking down gradually in slow motion there's nothing you can do it has

23:09

it has such a character developing aspect to it that it's you know only when you go through that then you realize wow you know what other people are going through really going through not just because you know it's like watching somebody drown and not be able to do anything just watch it and you have to watch it's like it's like the yeah Allah and so and you know one of the things I was speaking of these visions that even with

23:49

my I think about five months before my mum passed you know on one of those I had one of those visions and these things you know there's different ways to arrive at them and this is a long tradition and people will you know there's different methods whether it'll be people will meditate mindfulness self-hypnosis whether they'll psychedelics whether they'll be a trance whether it will be deep uh introspective

24:27

uh Journey going into that there's different methods on but these visions you know I had this Vision because about I think it may have been about five six months before my mom passed it was it was really weighing down on me the whole thing because there was this you know there was this time you know my mum came back one day or with the and she said to me this was earlier

25:04

before that but we knew you see we knew the diagnosis but the doctors want to recheck and reconfirm and then they do the biopsy and then like another month goes by and then they check this and but then it said look it's stage four so we already knew on the family group that it's stage four pomon was coming back from the hospital and she sat down on the sofa and she looked at me and and she just said she said you know it's she said it's stage four she said they're saying it's stage four

25:42

and she kind of just smiled but it was that kind of like you know like this is it like helpless kind of smile and and I was so helpless in that moment I just didn't know what to do or say or and I said that look inshallah you know we'll see what we can do and

26:20

drunk Within Me was a such a deep visceral shattering of helplessness like I like I don't know and that amongst the other things really kind of hope in a way haunted me for those few early months like I honest you you could one goes through these things then realizes wow you know this

27:00

world yeah Allah it's just raw emotion isn't it and I you know you know that night that my mum had said that I honestly I broke down so bad I must have been driving back from somewhere and I must have just stopped the car somewhere in um and I broke down so bad

27:29

yeah like I don't think I'd broken down that pad I don't ever remember like maybe when I was a child crazy because but I guess it's the process one has to embrace you know the good the bad the ugly and it is the nature of this Dunya and so a few months later with all these things Weighing on me I I'd had that vision I found myself as this state of consciousness and I

28:08

could see and because I was really concerned about my mom and her impending death to come I I was I was there and like so I'm there and I'm and I know that this is my concern in this Vision like I'm there I can see I cannot just see feel it's so real I'm there and my mum's there and and I can see that there's some this concern like I can mirror the the anxiousness like I I it's without

28:47

words it's a world without words but you just know and I'm being like I just seem to know that there's no pain in this passing of the world and and then I hold my mom's hand and in that Vision then I take the final breath with her just to be reassured of that and we pass into the Afterlife and I see it's just so Blissful and and and there we're not you know there's no

29:26

breathing there's no and it's just so blissful but it's the this transition this passing is so seamless into a place of inexplicable ineffable peace and then I come back in that you know what I'm seeing and I come back and then my mum's gone and you know that right through till the end just gave me so much solace

30:06

that I it's like I just knew because it's as if I I had already been there when she'd passed and I knew that it's something of peace and something so man I was so grateful for that you know but it's and you go through these things and then after them and then when it happens you know you you don't know surprisingly you know the things that occurred to you at the time you know at the time when when my mum did pass it just it was just sudden

30:44

and it's amazing you know at the time I remembered the quote from Jordan Peterson that just you know be the strongest person that you're parents funeral and I just thought that how would my mum want me to be like she wouldn't want me to and I was just I I surprised myself How firm I was and um whereas I was quite surprised with how so many of my family members at the time because we were all there when my mum passed they broke down so bad um

31:24

and some maybe I was expecting but some like my older brother broke down real bad and but I was just comforting everyone I was and I was just in this state of and it's amazing and then the days that go on and then you get to see this other side of how do funerals work and you know the politics you know I when and I didn't know this you know and I had no idea how these things work and that's I guess just on me you know but I didn't know and I thought it'd be a

32:03

straightforward thing that I could just lead my mum's janaza but apparently you can't and no none of these masjids allow it and it's nothing to do with me being muftiables it's just this thing that they don't allow it they you know it's I guess internal politics and they just say it's our our Imam or no janasa and I did think you know and then well my mom's burial was the following day and I thought well we'll you know we'll just do our own little intimate but it made me think that these facilities ought to be provided you know they ought to be

32:41

people ought to say that you know somebody actually a friend good friend of mine Sheikh Yusuf the hubby told me he's involved with a graveyard around London somewhere called as a garden of peace or Garden of Eden or something I think Garden of peace and it's meant to be an amazing graveyard that's down London somewhere and he said there they actually have these facilities that because I was saying it to him they ought to have this and he said they actually do have it there that they allow you to lead and they will train you if you want to lead like what you know this is what you pray this is how you do it

33:18

because it really ought to be like that but yeah right I mean not to get caught up but you experience this you're like ah cha so this is the so there's this part of the the journey as well that you know you're dealing with this other kind of bureaucracy and drama and people but so many people turned up to my mom's funeral by the way not not the one I the one I just did was just an intimate one second day of the burial but the actual and that's by no doing of me that's just my mom was so social wow you know it was and I think I got

33:57

inherited that from her but yeah not to put this on a whole somber tone but then the months since then the healing the um you know what did help me uh is reading I don't think it would help me as much as it did I I you know I um I I read a few books on Grief and some easy ones like almost like with just pictures and quotes and and I read this one book which I've still got a bit left of it called um the year of magical

34:36

thinking the author her name is Joanne Didion or something like this but she writes so well and she experiences grief and and because she's a writer you can imagine they know how to capture the words and as I was reading I was thinking I can actually I can wow like you just verbalize something that I hadn't even verbalized yet so these things are very helpful and awesome and I think yeah these are things I would like to also help people on but this has been the journey so you can imagine that I'm you know I'm and then there's just natural age

35:15

I'm not this I'm not interested in this you know somebody people saying Masala entertainment all this kind of drama and I know there's been a lot going on on social media you know I see Clips refutations rebuttals exposes scandals there's been a lot going on in these past few months but you know I it's like I see these things as wow like people are so preoccupied with this non-meaningful stuff

35:50

yeah so the book that that one I read was called the year or the year of magical thinking and she loses her husband whilst her daughter is also in intensive Critical Care on the brink of passing away as well so it's it's such a difficult time and I think this woman I don't I don't really know who she was before this but I think she's a person of like Prestige or you know I think she because she clearly works with Hollywood or producers in the past and she's not a nobody but but she's is an author so I don't know

36:29

whether she wrote scripts and things for producers or she's very articulate and but it's just something about somebody's pain and you can relate to it but hey this has been going on you know amidst other great things as well I don't think it's been just all it's this you know this this

36:57

somebody once said to me when I was um leaving a particular job he said to me that you know there are no endings just new beginnings and he wasn't retired he was retiring himself an English teacher he was reached an age of retirement and it was it's so true that there are no endings just new beginnings and that's with all of us wherever we are in life so even this made me think that I want to do something constructive but how

37:35

about I begin eight of seer and we go through it on a weekly basis amidst other shows and you know I was thinking of also maybe just dedicating a once a month weekly Meetup like I used to do before but just to meet up and you know so people it's just you know it's less of me talking and just people and and the mind traps getting them back on but there is also a new show I would like to um release or or get on get on the road

38:13

really and that is um one where I'm where it's between meets I I share it I co I'm a co-host along with and I'm really excited about that as well I mean hopefully provided it still goes ahead that would be something really cool as well and I think really because he's such an amazing scholar he has a background in tafseed he's translated I think several volumes of fact

38:48

um and he's very down-to-earth spiritual rational person as well so it would be great to kind of co-host something with and it'd be great to do something where I'm not just the only one put it on someone else and be like yeah you know you deal with this but yeah so this is what's been going on yeah so shall I take a few uh questions Monday nights with mostly Monday nights has been in Garnier that's the end of an

39:26

era I've they're still on YouTube there's there are what about 200 episodes of Monday nights with Mufti I think that's gone down and dusted now I think the tafsi thing will be interesting if I can get through four or five pages each time but by making it you know showing certain insights and how it's also relevant to us that will be fascinating I mean there's many things I want to do you know I guess we're always full of desires you

40:06

know to want to hazaro Hawaii foreign [Laughter] I do want to get more stuff out there and get things moving um are there any other is that Imam because

40:39

Allah Allah um and tuitions for yeah you know I I write so so here's the thing I really love how um I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with the Dr Ian mcgilchrist if not I really would love to introduce him to to you as in by just by name not that I know him personally I would love to know him um you know maybe get him on a Mind Trap

41:18

someday that would be amazing he's a legend of our times a neuroscientist a psychiatrist a he has a renowned uh bestseller book which is uh but it's such a lengthy book it's called the master and his Emissary and it's based on the right left hemispheric you know hemispheres of the brain but not this simplistic kind of all one side is creative one side is artist no no but a real wow like he gives such a perspective he's highlighting that how these

41:57

hemispheres just work so differently that the right hemisphere it's more to do with it's like it's it's something that deals with the mysterious it deals with the ambiguous it pulls things together it's poetic it deals with poetry symbolism all of that and the left hemisphere is very

42:34

precise zoomed in it's very critical it's very uh it's not just about being critical I mean there's other regions of the brain that are critical but it's very mono like it's it's it doesn't like ambiguity it's very it has that black and white Focus Zoom right in get something done to and he speaks about the importance and I would just say watch his stuff but he the reason I was mentioning him uh mcgilchrist is I love how he breaks it down that you see there are four sources

43:13

of knowledge and that is science which is our observation of the world in in the way you know the kind of measurements and everything we do and um and then there's reason or the rationale and then there's intuition and then there's imagination and it's by means of all of these four that we move forward and I find myself really in awe of that I am always a person of reason and an ad and

43:48

uh Avid admirer of the rational uh but I am in awe of you know the mystical and yeah and an intuition an imagination and and all of these I really I find myself at a stage in life where these things are just so wow and and I feel like wow they they just add so much more to what I was first thinking yeah so that's that's where I am so somebody's saying that was it uh

44:28

well I guess so I think many people um right have somebody said you missed a Snapchat did I stick her no I don't think so Mr super right have you watched Adnan Rashid or this is it debate ahmadis uh I've not watched it I no I've not is it def is it good worth watching oh right there's another one all right cursive uh uh oh no I've seen I've

45:07

responded to that awesome and yeah if it's good I'll I'll check it out I did watch a few of the debates in between that were going on and yeah it's been I can see the journey with people series would be awesome Islam the new also glad to see you back I'm glad to be back Ah that's what it is and yeah I think it would be awesome and you know what it is more than anything it's a it's a journey with a destination

45:45

so it's constructive um right oh no Mufti what happened to your Snapchat I stopped using SnapChat years ago you know I think it's been like what four years or something I've not really I don't really use Snapchat most of you come up on my DNA ancestry as a third a lot a lot well animal silent Reach Out drop me a message yeah let's see what what that story is all about um

46:26

right can I make a request for your next video topic sure drop a request I can't guarantee it'll happen but yeah uh have you seen of of a vacation he is so epic as well discussion on theories of everything no I've not seen that I'm going to look out for that one that will be a real Delight yeah to watch so yeah so what else has been going on people shall I share the uh link and let people I'm broke by the way is there any way I can talk to you I'm broke you know broke people up yeah why should we

47:06

all waste our time with rope no I'm joking I'm joking you can always reach out I'll share a link now you can come on right now how's that doesn't get any more immediate and imminent than that right um so when you're starting uploading again yeah I want to start uh uploading inshallah let's do these let's get things out there it's just been yeah sometimes I think it's important to just even the whole YouTube channel I won't you know how

47:45

it's been for the past several months has been like I've just been let it go let it all go I've been in a uh it's been I almost renunciating but then this is why I said it's important sometimes to just let things go and then just come back and pick things up you need a break

48:13

right okay broke people break people [Laughter] should I have a I'm gonna share the link but should I set up like a class system that the middle class ones get in first and then the working class and then the broke no that's you see this is the the bad humor that still did right so let me share this metaphic retardation of an idea that shows what

48:52

people are being taught properly so uh right now you know the yeah it's I guess it comes back to what does religion do for people and people who are seeking religion seeking faith they I guess they've just not known it

49:29

differently and many people are very um Islam is something that should settle well in the heart and the mind it shouldn't be something that you feel is irrational or illogical but I guess people because of their love of Islam and sometimes a fear of backlash will not question if like let's say they come up with something or somebody tells them something which is illogical they're too scared to

50:09

question it because they feel then does that mean I I'm being disrespectful to the religion and that I guess is a a love for the faith and that's the love itself is admirable although in this particular circumstance it's somewhat misplaced and then I guess it doesn't what doesn't help is people do scare them off they do um tell them off and um they become all you know and people become insecure so they'll say oh you're a cafe you know what the hell you've got a problem with the Quran then and you'll find nothing there is nothing

50:47

irrational ever in the Quran ever that is not the case at all but you will find people assuming certain opinions are in the Quran but they're not so that's another uh fascinating point you know you know it's it's okay to if you come across something in the faith and if it doesn't settle well with you or you don't understand it or it doesn't make sense then

51:26

you see if it is okay to suspend that thing whatever it is because you think look to me Allah always tells us to use our reason and make sense of things so because I don't understand this like to me I it doesn't make sense that a line is Messenger would ever say something like this so sure I'm going to seek out knowledge and ask about it but till then you know this sounds not right it doesn't settle the Hadith said that you know that the the the piety

52:02

sorry the acts which are wanted from us are something that settled with the heart and if this doesn't settle then I'm just an al-itham and that that which is actually a sin is which makes your heart and soul unsettled so you can pause these things whatever it is and just leave them in a suspended state that look I can't you know because my my the way I understand Islam is that he wouldn't ask us to do this and that's fine you can do that and meanwhile you can try to learn or ask

52:40

some olama about it and you don't need to then go and act on that thing you know this must Allah that if somebody for example gave you a certain Hadith but it didn't settle with you you didn't have a often you will find that there is a debate in that related to that Hadith anyway often find this so so let's say for example somebody said to you that um you should drink camel urine here is that you know you're not feeling drink some Camel urine and you said well what

53:19

why should why would I drink camel urine and they said well there's a Hadith should drink it it's going to make you better now this doesn't settle with you because your understanding of Islam is Islam that you know Allah he only makes good things that are foul or you find he makes them Haram for you and the thought of urine itself is something fell so you're thinking well you know this doesn't settle with me like people don't do things we don't do things and Islam is always telling us to be clean and be

53:59

pure and Iman and this is you know that cleanliness is ornessful Iman is half of Iman in some narrations or portion you know faith is built on this and it doesn't make any sense and so I'm not gonna do this no I I I cannot accept that that is fine you are allowed to do that you're allowed to say no you know this doesn't settled with me because and then meanwhile you can seek knowledge on it and you'll actually realize that many people have not accepted things like this and even though that narration

54:36

is in bukhari but there's two in bukhad by the same narrator and the second one doesn't the same Hadith but the second one doesn't say urine it says milk so you see that makes a lot more sense then you're thinking ah okay this makes a lot of sense to me and camel milk is so beneficial you know I've actually on a random note in this tea I actually poured some camel milk and it's so healthy you know on a side note it's very fascinating some of the

55:14

research linked with um combating or um dealing with or you know I would even say attempting to mitigate or heal autism at a young age with camel milk you know it's very fascinating research go on to watch these things Google the the kind of Articles and watch YouTube breakdowns of it that I think in children under 10.

55:47

so the younger the child I mean as long as the child is Young it's shown significant um in many cases it's shown significant healing and now you'd assume that autism is not something one can heal from to lifelong condition but you see we're learning these things you see because now they they've there's other research to show well even bipolar and other things could maybe be healed from using a diet like using a pure meat beef diet or the keto uh a ketogenic diet or other kind of

56:26

diets you can watch the research on it they're showing significant and this is all very new this is this you know in the last very fresh like we're talking maybe last one to two years at most This research so uh sorry that's to do with the the mental health conditions but the other autism I think that's been going on for several years in camel milk so but that's an example where somebody's shown a Hadith and they don't accept it because they say well and you're allowed to because you you're not doing this from an arrogance you see you're not doing this I don't want to hear what the prophet said for Allah

57:06

you're doing this from a love for the prophet and from a love for Islam in the Quran that you know this is not what the prophet and the Quran and Islam has taught me on the spirit of it because what happens when you practice a faith you don't you know you kind of embody almost a spirit I love how you know there's an explanation by Jordan Peterson where he's speaking about how as you grow up or even as a child you um you act out the father and he says and when children act out

57:45

the father they're not just mimicking the father they're not just saying well oh he did this so I'm just enacting what he did what they do is they they they they kind of winnow out or extract a kind of spirit of the father so to speak and then embody that spirit and then act as that Spirit of the father would would have acted if he was in this situation so that's the same kind of thing happening with faith that we I we we

58:24

learn and practice faith and we embody a kind of spirit of it and then that spirit gels or disharmonizes it harmonizes or disharmonizes with certain things and then we think well this doesn't gel well so that's how it often would work right um what's going on here a carnivore diet yeah because it's high in onto your antioxidants sure

59:03

you have okay user in timeout there you go somebody offering their own milk on here and you see right so I've put them in timeout right now uh shame Allah bless you masha'allah what a solid name Allah right let's because some people uh

59:41

avoid touching the military Too Deep the military the military what's the military as in actually joining the Army is that the topic or to need to write Okay so well I have been going to the gym somebody mentioning about the gym I've been you know the gym has been my and in fact I've been really feeling that oh you know the oomph ah the rage

1:00:19

sometimes I think the gym is a great place to you kind of funnel that energy and you go ah see look at this look at this game you're tense it's like oh I almost feel like it's gonna rip I love you praise all right let's see we've got some people tuning in um I I need to rely on all right okay so

1:00:49

I've shared the link who do we have here we have Rahman let me uh how are you I'm good I'm good I'm good a lot blessed you I'm good how are you what's going I can't see your camera by the way it's just blacked out and I can hear an echo in the background

1:01:28

come back to you and if you want you can fix your audio as well or mute it how does that sound shall I come back to you I'll Circle back okay I'll Circle back to ashiko Rahman whilst he fixes that we've got here Mahmoud foreign

1:02:00

hello I can't hear any sound or is that because of have I muted something or is nope I can't hear anything has this just got disconnected one second let me check let me just do a quick now I can I just heard something right there oh no I can hear I can hear it is look coming back I was just about to check on my audio hello let me just see testing nope it's working all right has them I can't hear you so maybe your audio isn't connected

1:02:37

this is working because I can I could hear yep I can hear something there yeah it's at a distance now okay um yeah I can hear you now but it's at a distance it's like very faint and low what do you want do you want to fix it up do you want to give you a few minutes and come back to you yep go on then fix it up fix it up all right or in the words fix up what did he say he said you need to get your acting Allah you know mind you I saw uh a

1:03:15

picture of I think he was he coming out the gym or something I was like wow he's looking in good shape Allah give everybody good health I mean right so who do we have here Lucy assalamu alaikum I just needed to unmute myself no problemas right what is going on Lucy how are you how have you been yeah I've been fine thanks yeah I've currently think I might have covered at the moment I've certainly had it the last few days

1:03:56

what was it is it is it still as hard-hitting or is it now just like a just just a bit more like flu kind of average flu how I wonder how is it now is it just not that I wondering so dearly at all I don't want to have it luckily I'm wandering so hard and then I catch it luckily you can't catch it over the internet

1:04:28

um it explains why I look more red than usual and it's not from blushing or that sort of stuff it's not from all the Noor that I'm generating over here it's all this Noor and it's the other all the viewers you know it's it's kind of creating healthy blood flow for them this Norris yeah

1:04:54

um otherwise there's been a well in the world of social media Twitter's made it difficult to just block silly billies on the platform so if there's somebody who's really annoyed winding you up on Twitter you can't you can block them from private messages but you can't block them from the public platform okay this is on Twitter is Twitter now called what as Twitter X X yeah but it still uses the twitter.com

1:05:30

domain oh it is still twitter.com okay because why why did Elon change it to X it's so Random maybe he thinks x marks the spot maybe he's feeling like a pirate oh look at that Elon I I don't know I don't know you never know he might he might be I don't know if you did that would be epic would be like Lucy G can you connect us with Elon Musk himself Allah just imagine that so what else has been got any interesting research Lucy you're always reading uh interesting things anything

1:06:09

interesting you'd like to share with the of SpaceX it's called SpaceX oh that's probably another company that Elon Musk owns so it's probably a different one um yeah for well um I'm trying to think well um as you were discussing autism and stuff earlier I I've got I know well how do I how do I articulate it um I know people with autistic traits within my own family and yeah may Allah make things easy for everyone

1:06:47

and for your family and and also it's just like there's one psychology Professor who was saying on one who is an Autism expert and possibly has a PHD in the topic his name is quite easy to remember Simon Baron Cohen he's Ali G's cousin just communication oh okay okay because I was gonna say why why is that easy to remember of course uh yes of course of course here yeah and yeah his cousin did some research to suggest like people with Autism are what's called highly high

1:07:24

systemizers so I've previously discussed with you fazilla has just shared right there the you know uh I think that's the kids names of Elon Musk isn't it or is it just all these children together I think it's one isn't it I don't know how he reads that do they just say x-a XA 12 come to the front

1:07:57

his I don't know how he would read it well how does he read it though does he you know what he should have done he should have just put like an iron and a bod in there and just like a cough just like put and then just uh like a few Chinese characters that's my that's his name just read it it's like ah right yeah so yeah oh somebody's put the name they've listed how to read the name May wife no way you read that as May wave is this red as May wave

1:08:36

wow okay I did that or I've you know they're just cracking joke I mean pranking us um are you teasing me all right so what is yep right and it's very systemizing is a useful thing for things like mathematics engineering um and computer science and coding all right okay yeah because there is you know there is a way there's just a way how it's amazing how different people see the brain

1:09:15

differently today I was watching somebody sent me a YouTube clip a a neural analysis so this uh I think she's some kind of neuroscientist or some psychologist or some woman I'm not sure who she is but she's doing a breakdown and uh a kind of neuro analytical breakdown of what's that guy's name who he's a freestyle rapper he's a YouTube freestyle rapper people seem to know who he was is it is hurry something

1:09:53

because it was being discussed on this group so uh I think is it Harry something or am I mixing the names up right there let me just see and right um praying hurry Mack that's it so Harry mark and so so he he he's interacting with let's say random people and he says well you know just give me a word give me a word give me a word give me a word and then he'll start uh just freestyling rap but he won't just use the words

1:10:32

he'll on the spot say an entire like let's say one minute dedicated a one and a half minute of wrapping to that word and topic based on so somebody said you know I think Madagascar or and he's just brought this into it and a whole topic about not just the word the whole topic and then so at the end of this the the lady she is analyzing his brain regions as in obviously you know from this is without I guess he had loads of things no no no sorry she's just giving a she's just giving a kind of what she assumes excuse me and she's explaining

1:11:13

that how the um you know you have the um medial prefrontal cortex and the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and these regions she's saying that you see the the medial uh prefrontal uh prefrontal cortex is something that is often involved in creativity high high creativity and it's it in case it's what allows you to go into a state of flow but the dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex

1:11:51

is the one that grants permission for your creativity or for your kind of these spur thoughts that you have that it's it's almost it's not just a Critic it's like a supervisor and you need permission from it to do things and it doesn't always Grant permission it's the thing that makes you very conscious of when you want to say something but you become self-conscious all of a sudden like oh but no you know somebody might find it funny or somebody might that's the dorsolateral uh uh prefrontal cortex and she mentioned that

1:12:29

there were studies on people who freestyle rap another creative people that what happens is when they for these people very easily the dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex can shut down shut down quite easily for them as in the activity is reduced in that region therefore allowing just the medial prefrontal cortex to just be very active and thereby allowing the individual to be in a constant state of flow and when you're in a state of flow you

1:13:09

don't you know it's like you can do things without thinking about them and you can do them so well and and I I was just watching that the breakdown she was giving and I was just thinking wow you know it is amazing that the gifts that we and each human has and and I'm sure where something gives it takes you understand because there are no regions in the brain that are just useless they are there for a reason and so where something give something else

1:13:46

takes and somebody may be gifted in this but then they may have a weakness in something else and something else somebody else may have a strength in but a weakness in and I think that's uh um yeah yeah and and we yeah the okay there's some what about people with bipolar that part of the brain that's become that shuts down when creativity is on high does that get shut act does that shut down during manic episodes or do you not know all the details or no I wouldn't know to be honest I would

1:14:25

you'd have to look up that for example bipolar and uh the state of flow for example how is that impacted in um people with bipolar conditions but you know what is interesting is recently what I was reading about what was deemed impossible just only in recent years that how a diet is now showing that changing your diet lifestyle now shows that it may you see reverse bipolarity that and and she and this was

1:15:05

deemed impossible and an absurdity just you know just in the last few years it was just scene it was like diabetes you've got a condition you can just manage it you can't undo it so I guess maybe diabetes there's a kind of pre-diabetic stage or sometimes people get into an early stage and maybe they lose a lot of weight and change their lifestyle become normal again sure but once you're fully in you know to a very insulin uh struck and kind of state where you now need insulin and things like you can't usually just undo that and so similarly once you've been

1:15:44

statemented as having bipolar or things like this it that's it for life you just manage it now but now research is showing by changing your diet you people have seem to have undone these things and it's crazy because this seems to we're learning about the biome and the neural you know the kind of neurotransmitters within the enteric nervous system the kind of the gut between the gut and brain yes so the guten pain brain relationship we're learning about now that this seems to be the brain

1:16:23

seems to be much more impacted by the gut than we think than we thought previously like we obviously know that it impacted it but to the extent that it can change your the brain's performance we didn't think in that way I mean in a basic way obviously like you could take caffeine or you could take alcohol and it could empty brain yeah like in that sense we knew but but could you for example check now I was watching something the other day about altering your microbiome um activity in the brain from oh sorry in the gut promoting it and it improves

1:17:01

your eyesight like this is something that I was just watching something on this uh two weeks ago so I think there's so much coming in in just the last you know couple of years only about the microbiome and by changing until people say like the carnivore diet going just on to meet how that has helped people with bipolar or but I mean this isn't to tell people to do you know do your own research people out there and watch it and you know make a decision I guess for yourself but yeah

1:17:39

so right shukran Lucy I appreciate you uh uh coming on sharing your thoughts on just your Radiance with us I mean that's it you keep shining bright I mean Allah bless you and we'll catch up uh once again okay okay thanks people Lucy all the way from Wales Allahu Akbar forgot to ask what was the weather like in Wales actually right we've got hazim uh all right what is what is is there

1:18:19

of your cult oh yeah yeah yeah but you know better than your cult and things like that are what to do is two things one kefir just get kefir honestly I cannot encourage it as much and things if you can get probiotics um so things which will um you know and I guess prebiotics as well like things that can just boost your natural or will give you good bacteria but Kefir is is epic

1:18:58

um rock black mostly you don't know how much we missed you Allah bless you I miss you guys too yard um [Music] is saying improving eyesight very naughty why is why is this one naughty yeah why um

1:19:26

Mufti Abu uberman Peterson these are the things that have impacts on me uh right so Kefir is it is epic people you can't go wrong with it right let me share the link we've got sorry I was about to bring on assalamu alaikum

1:19:55

I'm good I'm good see the audio is coming through loud and clear yeah just as the visuals are you see as well as the way your you know the way to nowhere in the same way we can hear that you know the audio is doing the same music too where are you joining where are you joining us from Egypt Akbar how is kahira or a different uh yeah yeah bless you are you Egyptian or are you yeah

1:20:32

Egyptian yeah I actually don't live in Egypt currently I'm I live in in Canada but I'm visiting for now but I'm Egyptian I think this is the first time somebody is it the first time somebody from Egypt is joining us it's made a landmark event this will be documented in all history and immortalized and eternalized has him see sahiba has them a person who came on this show from Egypt how are things there and

1:21:09

um yeah how how is the whole you know they they were investing quite a bit in redoing the whole ahira the museum and creating the twin city as well what's the twin city called it's called the Laos I think is that what you're mentioning yeah the one that they're making where they wanna just design it from scratch yeah I think it's called the last military yeah okay wow okay is that just going to be I don't know I don't know how to say it in English I think it's the capital like yeah like I think a federal capital they'll call it something exactly exactly yeah I just said in Arabic and I

1:21:49

I didn't translate it because you know you said it be listening [Laughter] it's us who fall short on capturing it inwards so yeah so what else has been going on has him what's share some thoughts with us I I when I when you talked about the spiritual part uh within the Cena right I wanted to ask you about or like what what are your thoughts are you like how much do you know about and his effects on the later column schools right um yeah so I have like aware that yeah sorry carry on Career yeah like like the idea that you know

1:22:27

like the Essences are are you know uh there's real exorcism sorry repeat that again sorry you know like like you know there's real Essences in the world right and the way in a platonic way right the way you can actually capture the Essences of the world uh is through mystical experience that you can actually it's unveiled to you and you actually see the actual intelligible Essence like you see uh Beauty you see a hoarseness you see Essences right um and how like later clam schools kind of

1:23:05

take that approach strongly and they're affected strongly by it uh compared to the earlier school wow okay I I mean I didn't realize um I would have to see how to what extent for example are they um or are they openly attributing things to you know the the influences to ignoreopy or not because I think sometimes they may not mention it as much but maybe like you mentioned like you've said they influenced but they're not attributing it to him

1:23:40

um but I I 100 agree with you that he's his way of thinking his philosophy his metaphysics it is something which I whether all of it or so much of it I personally do hold on to things like um his understanding of Allah myself has been so um uh it's been so imprinting on me that I've that that's how I understand reality to be that he his his explanation and and I guess it is with sir worthy as well and

1:24:19

later people took from him as well from them as well that there is a world between these worlds of just the pure you know Consciousness or the pure rule or the pure and that and between this world of material which is also real and like you've said but there is a world between that a kind of cross-sectionality is intercross which is known as the element method and in that world uh events materialize there is a

1:24:57

Destiny plays out there is a coding manifests itself that there is um you know that there there is so much happening in that world and in that world this is the world of the rape and in this world animal missal we are all actually connected to each one of these worlds um in the sense that we are connected to the world of just pure Consciousness and spirit oh we are disconnected

1:25:35

to the Divine decree even prior to that as we are connected in this world of element mythal but we are here as well and this is us as we know it now things happening in these layers are having a bearing on the other layer so as something is is occurring in real time let's say in Alamo mythal it is manifesting like a shadow to it in this world if you like just as As you move the shadow moves or it manifests

1:26:12

that we we are seeing so so the decree for risk something could be happening here and a manifestation could be happening here you know you a job is created or something is happening on but the risk is feeding through in that way and and the world there it is in symbols and he describes it even which I fully believe this that you see that they that and that that the world there that that intersectionality this is world of

1:26:49

representation uh this it's less dense than material but it's yeah you know but it's more real than just nothing it is a real world but it's not a world as we know it and what I would add to because I guess the discourse has moved on as it always does in human history since IBN arabi's time um and just words I guess but that I would add that that is also the world of the unconscious the collective unconscious it Taps into that so they write that that is also the world like I guess uh uh that they would say is the

1:27:28

world of the buddhistah is also that world that the world where we go in the state of Dreams is that world it's Hollywood mythal it's not this uh world they say is connected to that but the ahira they say is separate so it's it's a different world it's a different manifestation so Island without would be uh like from your understanding would be like um Essences Like Us in a different way or like what do you mean there's a connection between our world and the world there like is there a me there or is there like the concept of humanness

1:28:07

there or what what is it so now given that we are like we have to first of all we have to understand that we are limited by our understanding so we will always have to take things with some approximation so in a way it is to say that imagine

1:28:35

yeah imagine that there is a you you've got something on a PC but it is connected to let's say a holographic reality here you've got it like we've got a manifest teach Also let's say somebody is you know they they're watching something is real or we've actually got a kind of reality here but it's connected to a PC now inside the PC this reality is not how you're seeing it here you know the PC is flat

1:29:14

you're seeing like a chair and a table and but this is flat like if I'm you know if I'm watching now we don't watch DVDs let's say but let's say I was watching just to give the example of a DVD the DVD is just flat it's it's you know but you're watching this movie with all these helicopters and all these things and so that but they are connected influencing it will influence this

1:29:46

but here on the PC example it is a code right similarly you know it is a manifest in the past the words that these Scholars used was they are symbols that existed so in a dream what they were saying is that in a dream you may see things but in the real world it may so let's say for example the prophet said in that he saw a dream like you take this Hadith and he said well I was holding a cup of milk and and I gave it to Omar radhilan and he drank it and the prophet said and

1:30:25

that milk represented knowledge but in this world milk doesn't represent knowledge but in that world of symbols it can you see and it does in that instance you're saying in it's like a different encoding of of reality that has much more symbolism and much more meaning up there it is a world of symbol so you are not like you in this sense but you are bound to it like you are here in the material there's no material like this in that sense there this body but you are connected to it

1:31:02

by but when I guess but how we're connecting obviously we don't we don't know these things this is just our understanding of them but when we access that world so can we so let's say for example we're in this reality this kind of existence but can we access the coding now in some cases you can how can you access it Revelation which obviously not for us but let's say revelation when Revelation has gone the prophet said what he said the world of Dreams is still a portion he said it's a Jews from from the edge

1:31:42

of Revelation through dreams you still have access to that world to the unconscious world you could access it through some people have Vision still like like they go into a trance or they you know they see things they lower their state of consciousness and they start seeing things and this is what they call Cash removing the Veil it is that world now in that element mythal world when you do access it and you see things you will because you were a person from this world you will see things in accordance with the this world like you will see objects

1:32:21

but those objects may not mean what you see here just as in a dream sometimes you might be seeing something but knowing it to be something else like I might be it's like in a dream you might know yourself to have died but you've never understood death but you just know it in the dream or you might be talking to someone who looks totally different but you just know it to be that person right so or you could you have many a Hadith the prophet described things like he said well you will see certain things that's because it's all representation you know it's all taking a symbolic form right it means that and in a dream in

1:33:01

this animal mythal these Scholars like all these people right you see you can have there may be a you're like you may within you and you're not trying to do this but it may happen in any case you may have some kind of uh realization of God but God hasn't described like so for example you might in a dream see God in a particular way you might have this like this light or this and but that's okay in this realm in this imaginal world they call it in

1:33:40

English the imaginal realm this uh element method it is just a symbolic representation it's not the real representation so the Hadith yeah I remember there was a Hadith where the Prophet says that I saw my Lord as a young boy uh I saw my Lord as this young beautiful you know this handsome man this young man and and these all about like IBN Arabi and all these right that that is perfectly fine in that sense

1:34:19

you see it's not really the and this is how they describe by the way and the theologians kind of missed it you know you spoke of Kalam they they kind of missed the mark that the prophet said and in on the day of judgment you see because these all of us say the day of judgment is also because it's not the is yet to it's a part it's like on the doorstep of the rabbit is to begin so they say the day of judgment the is part of the Bursar which is part of this world so they say and the Hadith that you will see your lord as you see like like this

1:34:58

bright moon you know the way you see this Moon and whether you see it as the moon or the way you see this moon or the Lord will come to you you know uh well it will come watch it with the with the angels as well you know it comes side by side or you see the arsh erected or you see this is a realm of representation there it is absolutely fine to see anything as it appears to you it is not it does not mean that it's it's true you

1:35:36

know the is like that it doesn't mean that that that's like that in this sense it's yes so the Hadith said you will see those who would do adhan will have long necks this doesn't this is on the day of judgment because it's part of the master it's part of the Bursar part of this that it's not that they will be somehow almost like disfigured you know like oh really long giraffe mix but it's like that because it's a symbol it's symbolic so I love the way that people

1:36:13

they they explain this uh to me it makes it so coherent it's still within reason it's still uh it's mystical at the same time it's imaginative it's Rush everything ties together you know so it's no inconsistency do you believe that you can actually gain knowledge through the mystical unveiling they they claim to to have rules you can the tools you can that you can you see that uh I I was mentioning this earlier today that the um four ways of gaining knowledge and you know Dr Ian mcgilchrist was uh he speaks about this as well passionately

1:36:53

that you do have science the the roots of Science and empirical data and all of that and you have the rationale and you know I guess these two together could make reason but you have intuition and you have imagination and Imagination is interesting because IBN Arabi speaks about creative imagination is what will again you access to the element method

1:37:24

to a point is part of your day-to-day but if you go into real you go into imagination but what a lot of the Islamic Mystics believed and this even Arabi at the Forefront that you have this real which I'm just thinking oh I'm thinking I'm looking at this phone looking at this pen and then I just start thinking about a pen and that's that's still here but as it goes further town and goes into of high resolution of and Pure Imagination he felt was connected

1:38:04

to the unconscious mind which was connected to that is and you can gain access just as you can through a dream you can gain it through what he called creative imagination and by the way Jung took from this you know you know young has this active imagination to get into a Trans State which which is linked to the works of IBN Arabian creative imagination but yes I I do believe that this that imagination and Mystic is that the mystical does give us a kind but mystical will give a different kind of knowledge so the mystical doesn't it doesn't give

1:38:43

empirical you see these are different kinds of knowledge so the mystical will give what is known as a noetic knowledge it's something which like you have um like you have an unveiling it's like you've known something but it's hard but what is that knowing it's not about the words like so for example I could have just I could have had a mystical experience and I know to spread the message of love and peace now but it's it's not that the mess the information is new I'm just still speaking about love and peace what everybody else is speaking about

1:39:22

but I've had this noetic understanding all of a sudden which it isn't about informational words but I've had this knowing about it which is a qualitative state but I I'm sorry for like pushing this along just one thing is that um is that I think they don't they don't only claim that they actually claim to actually no true things about the world not only in just um a vague sense I think they actually belonging to some extent that they actually learn about the nature of the human again I could be wrong right but I

1:40:02

think so of course it's not so you can actually gain from that mystical experience to if if that's true true knowledge knowledge about the nature of a man nature of woman and actually gain knowledge in like the philosophical sense where you can actually make a syllogism and of course and let me give you let me add to that so an example at one level could be so for example a uh foreseeing where people see that something bad is going to happen a premonition or something good like they see in dreams and the dreams sometimes come true they see that something's gonna happen and it

1:40:41

happens now that was a foresee that was an actual knowledge and knowing and it materialized or in in a lower sense they gain like it sharpens intuition and they get what is known as you will get uh a kind of precognition or they will and sometimes you'll get people that for example they that you know they've like stock Brokers or people in the past that they've done studies on that they would sometimes just know something without being able to understand why they know it like I know this talk is going to do

1:41:21

well but there's no actual like I don't know like they just know it and now things like that a kind of pre-conscious uh knowing of something without without being able to explain how you know it whether it's going to mean that or whether there's going to be actual learning about things so for example people who've taken psychedelics as an example like Watson and Crick who then discover DNA and they they discover DNA Wells on psychedelics now DNA is just one of the things many things that were discovered

1:41:58

whilst people were in a state of in a psychedelic trance where their Consciousness was different and they had access to this uh you know Island method and they had a mystical experience so in fact several cues to things have been discovered whilst people have been on States that's there was a particular Discovery to cancer where the person involved in this mystical State he could see actual like in huge size all the different body cells and then he could move them around and manipulate them and then he realized oh this is how we'll cure it I'd forgotten the name of that that particular but there's been several breakthroughs sometimes it's not just

1:42:37

like that it's that this is a very helpful kind of Knowledge Learning where people have brought it back and then implemented it but sometimes it's a different like it could be a learning of like you mentioned General things in life or so yes I feel that look humans are on a journey of learning and it is undeniable that we take our our knowing from so many different forms even if we're not uh so sure about it but we do take it from so many forms that we probably don't know because look check this out the majority of our

1:43:17

processes within our within our mind our unconscious like if you know some have argued 99 are unconscious if the majority of us is acting or is being processed in in unconscious ways that we we don't have previous you know we don't have access to our unconscious mind see this is the thing we don't even know what it is that's so if it is according to this understanding it is I it is connected it is connected to this realm and we are and it would explain how we sometimes

1:43:56

just arrive at knowing something without being able to understand how we knew it you know you just yeah so so I I do I I'm you know I find myself more and more in line with uh embracing this kind of being you know this this kind of this mystique and and the mystical and but it's not even I I don't feel any of this is irrational I just feel it's at a different stage of understanding that's right I don't feel it clashes with reason or the rationale right yeah hazim wow it's been awesome uh

1:44:35

thank you so much uh for joining us and sharing that and have fun I hope it's not the heat isn't killer I mean it was there's a heat wave in the UK this week yeah I just only think what is uh Egypt like a Loveless alaikum people that was has him all the way from or previously known Asia I believe isn't it um but who do we have here Imam assalamu alaikum how are you

1:45:14

I'm good Allah Akbar I feel like we've just kind of connected into this a spiritual cave right there with you in a deep state of it looks like of ah I'm just loving the lights and the books in the background what's going on Imam Saab nothing just uh thinking just uh trying to understand things on a deeper level these days I'm more interested in what sort of what makes because I see

1:45:52

that the Quran gives us reasons for the purpose of our life right so it would say the purpose of our life is to worship Allah and then there are ayats that say that you know all of this was not created in vain things like this and so what I'm finding of Interest these days is how people react to challenges because we see that many prophets when they are tested they become stronger in their faith but we also find the examples in our own

1:46:32

let's say personal lives or individual examples where when tested people felt so overburdened that they actually left the Deen so what is the I these days I'm using the Quran as a sort of guiding uh tool to understand the different psychological states of these different individuals mentioned within the Quran so you have like a pharaoh why does the Pharaoh uh think you know that way and why does uh you know what what gets

1:47:10

somebody to that point and then what gets uh somebody stronger in faith when challenged and what makes somebody go further away wow I mean that these are the ultimate questions yeah you know we what is it why is it some people persist where others break like what what you know some people you'll see in life trauma will hit them and they will pivot

1:47:46

in a positive way like they'll I mean it will let's say let's say this is a cluster of people and traumas hit them all now everybody when they've been hit with it that's exactly what they've been done they've been hit but some will pivot and bounce back and others will kind of be crushed by the weight of that or crumble and and I guess we're all humans and we've all got the apparent same faculties and but it is you know that this this is the question that what changes and you're right that the Quran gives both parallels it says that you know there's

1:48:26

some people the Quran highlights that when calamities befall them they um they turn back what's wrong with you why'd you why me why you don't get people why me why me why this have to happen to me and and that's an archetype you see what Allah in that in those verses Allah is illustrating an archetype of a person this and we can all embody these archetypes at times these are not you

1:49:06

know we don't have to make them fixed to our personalities but we all probably have at some point in life you know whether when we're a child or growing up maybe as adult we've embodied that archetype this kind of like ah throw a tantrum you know when things well why you know what the heck why do I need to and and then Allah mentions another archetype that is that when Calamity befolds them they turn to Allah and they they you know yes that the Iman it becomes more

1:49:44

stronger in in nature and and they think that you know that this too shall pass in Allahu Akbar I'm gonna see how uh you know it's not like I've been handling things up until now as long as we do us you know it's going to be interesting to see how Allah solves this as well and what manifests and unfolds for me now it is true that you know and I think we as humans we journey through all these archetypes in a way you know but sometimes we're just stuck on one and and we need and I think this thing is contagious

1:50:24

and this is why the prophets you know uh Allah's blessing eternally be upon them that they see that they were such beams and strong personalities that you see because when see how how do how let's say we're in this archetype that's that's Tantra mean one way is okay either we just through age and live we kind of reflection and we change or in other ways we mimic Behavior

1:51:00

like we see people and we think wow something and there's almost a light that it it's like a fire that you know in a positive sense that it it catches light like somebody around you laughing you you just start laughing sometimes you don't even know why you're laughing you're finding it funny you know sometimes you could be angry and somebody's laughing and you start laughing and you don't want to laugh because you're angry laughing because it's because it's contagious but this good this character of like what you're saying it's also contagious but but the downside is the bad one could also be contagious you know that

1:51:40

bad archetype so if you're around people that are always like oh you know life's just so miserable oh you know it's never over or when you ask them how are things oh could be better you know it could be like this or not so good and and they're just grumpy and now that's contagious so it's almost as if there's a battle going on in the world between these archetypes of of good character you know

1:52:12

so and and the prophets are beaming this into people around them and they're catching this determination but even tilted like at all times this light will always be there and either we gain it through reflection or or it can we catch it through other people you know you're around somebody they're smiling you start smiling you know you you're grumpy you're down and you think oh you know I'm going through it but you think ah this guy is always you know look at look at him it's you know what he's always so yeah why not yeah let me let me try and smile as well through it and I yeah I think it's it is a human Journey

1:52:52

I don't think there's a I don't think this you know that you said Imam Saab about look this we're here on this Earth what are we for you know what are we here for this question that and some some people think it's just a very simple answer oh we're here to do this oh or was that the answer you know I think it's it's it's like in ex the answer whatever it is it's an experience isn't it it's like it's to and I tell you one of the things if I can share this with you Imam Sabi it really got me thinking actually after you know it was actually around what

1:53:30

when my mum passed and that whole time and I was thinking a lot and and I just ended up thinking about this and and I think I was listening to some lecture who was it it was that in English I think it was a podcast on something like an informal I think it was Dr Ian mckilchrist actually speaking uh about it was either him or somebody else but they were speaking about the state of consciousness that it enters into a new light the moment it encounters so you see because the one thing we can't deny

1:54:08

is that we are conscious that one thing nobody you know whether I'm I'm having a I'm conscious I'm having a thought I'm conscious I'm sitting here I'm conscious I'm looking forward I'm conscious like the fact that we are conscious we cannot deny that that is our absolute you know that is Ground Zero from which we're going to build up now the moment Consciousness is all about encountering like I've experienced because the moment I encounter this bottle oh it's a bottle I encounter

1:54:45

and I thought about this you see because to encounter has this thing of this in a mutual setting you kind of come to know something however is whether you know it inaccurately or accurate but you encountered it there is this kind of erfan this maharifa and Allah says and and you notice that you see the moment even you are encountered your State of Consciousness like the moment somebody's watching you you know they watch you become conscious

1:55:24

self-conscious and I thought that Allah says that look that he created us and that he created that you may encounter one another that this human story will reach by encountering it will just gain new depth and profundity and then it occurred to me serious that this it occurred to me this Hadith that the ultimate encountering you see that this this whole thing that this

1:56:03

Hadith could see that Allah says that I would say that I am that Allah is this hidden treasure of I then willed wanted however you want to translate it to be encountered and and that is the Hadith explaining why creation was here that why did God create that

1:56:43

one understanding to be known but begins with to be encountered and I I just I feel that encountering like even this like our encountering one another that this in many ways is it's the uh this is the answer that you know why are we here it is an encounter isn't it it's to encounter this everything along the way I I know it's not as neat as just saying well the reason we're here just this but it is to

1:57:20

me it it really gives something I don't know what your thoughts are on this imamsa but I was reflecting uh about this a good few months ago and I thought wow okay he really kind of hit me I had the thought of what you were saying earlier um yeah and and this something that I'm also paying closer attention to this time around reading the first year and reading the you know the Quran it's um it's also the character development which happens through challenges because you said earlier it's a journey life is

1:57:57

a journey it is and and and I feel at some point you know we all have stages and I think uh not only does the Quran give the archetypes but many times it even gives examples like we see you know and the way he reacts to his people uh and the message and then you see the result of him leaving and what follows uh but to me that's a very interesting you know State of Mind does that make sense because he's cool because the way he reacts to his people's reaction is is very interesting as compared to let's

1:58:37

say somebody like a new Halley Center where he's he's boosting persistent until the last moment right where he's calling and don't you feel that these prophets then see they were the peak embodiment of that archetype for these for that struggle that they will be this thing of you know like you're saying this persistence till the end or this archetype of pure suburb in the face of sheer adversity and all kind of suffering and affliction and like in the story of Ayub alaihi Salaam but yeah that's it's it's uh because

1:59:17

look isn't the default the default um setting almost not to sound Doom and Gloom but of this Dunya is going to be suffering isn't it now we just that's gonna be that's like the humdrum of existence now we in the face of that have to adjust our settings but you know there's this um I've read I think is it motanabi he says in this Arabic he says

1:59:57

you know he says that this world that the Dunya made me thirsty like obviously metaphorically symbolically but it made me so thirsty so when I finally came to it asking it to give me to drink it like it poured down like rain upon me with calamities instead you know that this is what it gave me as rain then that one you know that you know you know the whole thing that you've got this I've I've come here and then and

2:00:35

then on top of that this is what I get but I guess that's the human story isn't it that Allah is saying that I know about humans what you do not know that you know this is uh that that they will shine through all of that you know that they will they will still shine bright it doesn't you know no matter how dark the the night fall gets that it will I guess that is the story and and interestingly if you think about it when Allah says

2:01:13

he doesn't say that it has anything to do with the journey he doesn't say it has anything to do with what happens to us in our life right the it's the way that we react to what's happening yeah because in many ways wow so in many ways it in many ways it could be our submission to the situation hmm 100 100 comes up look they say that and this is why I was a bit reluctant on the word suffering because they say that look pain

2:01:51

like we can't control all the time what will afflict us or will happen to us pain is from the external in but suffering is the state of mind is the meaning we give to it so somebody for example Falls hurts themselves let's say their teeth are damaged and they're in a state of pain they're in state of suffering oh my God somebody's undergoing surgery they are removing their teeth they would describe this as suffering now even though let's say they've come

2:02:30

back from the dentist they've had these implants or different things now they wouldn't say I mean they might say I'm suffering but they wouldn't say oh I'm going through suffering in my life they would just say oh yeah because because the meaning they associate it's not a meaning of suffering they say well oh I'm doing this to get that out of it so the suffering is 100 like you're saying it is the meaning we give to it if we give a different meaning it's not if the if you know if we've got a big enough why we can handle a big enough how because it comes back to why why is it happening

2:03:09

your point and how the people around him are reacting to what's happening and the way he's reacting to a town yeah because because of that exactly this is my yeah it is uh you know this is my point that that is the the kind of the human journey of meaning and just of and I guess encountering along the way all these things each each one of us are different you know we've got our own story going on and we're encountering things and then the meaning we're making and attributing to that

2:03:48

but yeah and along the way I guess we as a collective you see we're like loads of little stories that are let's say millions of little pixels but you you bring it together and it makes one giant picture if you like which is the human story you know which in a way encapsulates or mirrors I guess Adam and history you know it's so it's all yeah it's amazing when you think about it and I think at the end it's no matter where we end up right like I mean in the Hereafter uh though we

2:04:27

should hope for end up with Allah exactly that's nothing motorcycle exactly right and then and topic just stops right there you know it's like Allahu Akbar and how could anybody think bad of Allah exactly yeah right how could anybody think part of Allah I I love what uh he he says in one of these things where he said that he said just say if the the the the the your fate was to be given in the hand of your mom your mother and she was to just decide your

2:05:07

faith and no no no repercussions just up to her how would she decided for you or against you infinitely loves you more than your mother infinitely how could anybody have such have a negative uh thought and or an impression or an outlook on Allah sorry to interrupt you you were saying something no no I was just saying and and you know the idea of I was just thinking you know you were mentioning uh Adam Ali's um and

2:05:45

you know I think you know and and the different even the different laws right like for example we see Robin Aldo lemon and fusana like we wronged ourselves so I I feel it's we're not necessarily the way that we react to these situations we aren't really wronging Allah if that makes sense it's the Journey of ourselves and do we end up back to Allah as in in this life one and then ultimately obviously we will end up there um after this life yeah because there was a there was a point where you know when we were saying earlier how the

2:06:24

whole existences are they have a connection and there is a realm which we're saying is of pure Consciousness which people say but there is a realm of the Divine decree if we want to call it a realm where the word that Kun is what the word it brings existence and me you everything [Music] is if in an atomistic sense in an infinitesimal sense

2:07:03

a part of that the initial Divine decree of B it is isn't it like the the the the universe began existence began with that decree and it even if we are so far you know in our in our world so far from it but in from Allah as if if we can use the word perspective or Allah's knowledge or point that there is no time like this you know this is our perspective isn't it the past present taking so long or this is going on forever so in that

2:07:42

sense it's almost imminent and it's happening and we are a part of that decree so we are connected and time is one perspective but also uh not necessarily physical distance but the way that Allah mentions how close he is to us how close Allah is to us yeah because you're right because this whole thing we I mean you know it goes into another discussion of this whole thing of what is this existence how does it exist and I mean I don't want to go off into the whole uh

2:08:19

holographic kind of universe thing but yeah yeah yeah I don't know wow you know Imam it's so good always refreshing to speak to it's been ages since we've spoken but it's good to see with the you're still there with the whole a spiritual spiritual kind of mashallah Radiance going alhamdulillah it's from Allah and then we are nothing we are as as we are the dust on the books we haven't even opened them yet may Allah

2:08:59

um cool will catch up much love in myself people that was Imam Jawad uh I believe from Ontario right I'm gonna wrap this up soon one final guest we've got here uh what else but to end on a note with a lover

2:09:30

Allah Allah Allah let me bring us um how are you doing I'm very proud and very honored to talk with you live I have watched several of your clips and uh I'm very excited now I mean talking with you God bless you where are you joining us from uh from San Francisco San Francisco USA from San Francisco

2:10:09

there's a city called Tracy it is which is close to between California and Sacramento yes in California wow okay so far California just like I always say it just has just the name alone has such a cool Vibe about it yeah it's like is always sunny most of the time yeah that's it so yeah but yeah anyway I know it's almost at the end of your time and I want to be very brief like I said

2:10:46

I I've watched your several clips and I loved it and and I agree with uh almost uh everything except just one of your Clips sure sure go for it I hope you didn't mind no no of course not of course yeah about this uh psycho Deluxe uh uh things that some people are using and I understand people are using it for medical purposes but uh as far as for other other things like Samsung some of the youths are involved using the

2:11:23

psychedelics for recreation purpose and they're doing a lot of damage to their lives they are demotivating them and the use of LCDs and all these other things the list goes on sure hello oh you're back you're back uh I was just about to say that I didn't want you to get Switched Off just in case it appears that I've taken you off no no not at all right yep sorry you're saying

2:12:02

yeah so yeah but anyway but that's yeah I I know if Mohamed salsa was alive in seeing people using it as a recreation I don't think he would approve it and uh and uh I just didn't hear anything from your Clips I maybe uh there was another clip on that maybe I have missed it but I didn't he I didn't hear you saying that it is Haram and uh for recreation purpose and I know some other mufti's here in this area even they don't say that marijuana and hashish in all those they're saying that is not Haram it is

2:12:40

my crew they're saying it's macro and that kind of gives a hand for some of the youth and I'm involved in education also and I'm involved in one of the massages that I teach Islamic Studies and Quran Sharif to students from all ages and I see a lot of students grew up I mean it's been 20 years that I'm doing that and first when they come in and when they are like a young they're very motivated they want to become doctor or engineer and a lawyer and stuff and then once they get to their late teenage when they start using these things you see that their motivation is gone and some they

2:13:19

leave school and some get into troubles and actually I went in one of the tour of one of the prison and local areas and I I saw I saw a young Muslim guys that they were they were there for very minor things because once they were under influence of some of these things that some of mufti's unfortunately saying it is macro but they are using it and they get in trouble because of of what psychedelics yeah psychedelics and I don't know psychedelic yeah because I've never I've never heard of ever a case

2:13:56

ever and this is like that's a huge claim now so and this is not me this is people that have done extensive extensive studies into the therapeutic effects of psychedelics they we've they've not come across any real cases of things like ever criminality or harm associated with psychedelics so there's uh in fact if anything it it it's actually so healing and helpful and how it heals the body physically how it heals the brain how it heals depression how it heals alcoholism how it heals addictions how it gains insight into

2:14:36

life how it recreates a connection with nature how it distances people from violence how it creates an antipathy towards aggression how it creates a stronger bond with and and a sense of empathy I've never and this is not just me this is uh studies like so many studies now have come underway and the studies are so powerful that the pharmaceutical companies want to jump in and before people start getting access to it they want to somehow monopolize and obviously make money off this because it's so uh beneficial so I've never psychedelics I'm speaking about I'm not speaking about things like

2:15:15

marijuana or things like that they're not psychedelics so um psychedelics themselves like which will be for example mushrooms magic mushrooms um or there'll be things like let's say DMT or 5me or DMT or things like like this of this nature I mean these are natural things that grow in the earth and they're consume naturally so it's not like so now you get so for example you can get heroin now heroin uh let's say it's a opium now these things are going to be made from poppy seeds now that's natural

2:15:53

however it it can never in its natural state end up where humans refine it so for example you naturally in nature find sugar like in in fructose we'll find in fruits so you'll find certain things that are sweet but when humans refine sugar and it becomes sucrose and they refine it to this extent then it creates diabetes you see if you just had Natural Things it would that the Earth in itself is not made in a way like if you just ate apples and they were sweet you would

2:16:31

never just get diabetes from something like that it would never feed a cancer in that way that it's only when humans refine through intervention like they chemically and they use procedures to refine something and take it to such an intensity then the sugar becomes dangerous for humans then poppies but through this refining process become opium and heroin and morphine now mushrooms are just natural mushrooms the way they are on earth people consume them they don't refine them um DMT when it's found it's just natural now these things in itself there's no

2:17:09

I I'm not aware of and I have actually looked extensively into this topic I'm not aware of any kind of incidents where things have actually happened when people have taken these in a bad way I know people speak of psychosis I'm not and that's a topic which I don't obviously they will say those people already had those issues that they had for example they suffered from psychosis and then they took it and it affected their psychosis negatively sure or people who had schizophrenia and took it and it negatively impacted this schizophrenia of course that's different but I've never heard of a case where people have done this like let's say

2:17:48

they were normal and something bad has happened to them or they've done something bad to people do you know the it's now and you can check this up you can read the book for example by Michael Pollan and many other on uh how to change your mind now it's actually called that but you can read other things that the FBI had had doctored you know under the um uh you you had uh Nixon's war on terror because he was worried so Nixon basically in his time because he was worried that uh a lot of the people that were taking this stuff they were becoming anti-war and they were anti and

2:18:26

they were middle class young people who became very lovey-dovey and hippie and and they started to speak against not only the Vietnam War but they started to also um uh go more you know like uh they started to become more kind of democr Democrats as opposed to Republican so now the issue was this was being pushed by a lot of the this was being pushed by Harvard I mean Timothy Leary was a Harvard Professor he was leading the Psychedelic campaign if you go into the 50s the government of America was pushing psychedelics as in this is the

2:19:04

new all cure to everything in the 60s when Timothy Leary and these other people going into the 70 when they were at the top of all of this you know you had the job Hopkins research going on all of these things this was life-changing for people now I get it some of the results were exaggerated however why was it all of a sudden Timothy Leary a Harvard Professor is declared by the FBI as the most wanted man in America Most Wanted is a leading Harvard Professor who's who's leading the discussion on psychedelics why just because his research was impacting the middle class uh people and Nixon

2:19:43

couldn't take that because his presidency was at stake so he outlawed without any research he declared that these things be outlawed okay that these things that psychedelics must be considered a you know prohibitive food source and illegal Contraband item and he for for the sake of his validation asked the European countries and other countries to support him which they did because of the position of America following World War II it was really powerful compared to the other states compared to Europe as well so they backed and they joined this war against drugs which is really a war

2:20:23

against psychedelics it's ridiculous the war and and he used racism to fuel the other card so one and you know they created you know that story of somebody took psychedelics and jumped out of the in America they jumped out of the thing the young uh well it's a fake story it didn't actually happen like that but they generated it and made it into a news article to scare the middle class parents to turn on their uh young thing to say oh my God this kill kid killed himself it wasn't even true where was the child the later research asked so many questions who were these people that died where did they die how is their known figures given how are they no

2:21:01

facts that it was just fabricated In the Heat of the Moment to stop what they thought was a pandemic of this Awakening going on because people were kind of Awakening into this love and you know they were becoming very anti and and it was just antithetical to the whole Nixon regime and and I guess the crude uh uh consumeristic kind of capitalism at the time so there's a lot of politics in this thinking that you know when people think this something is Haram uh they need to go back into like what you

2:21:40

need to do and maybe it is Haram and a lot of people respect Islam I don't believe it's Haram but maybe many people do and I respect that but before they go into that what they need to do is just stop and just try to see like how my my thinking have been influenced like you might think well my thinking has been influenced because I heard this okay take it but how else has this thinking been influenced as it's Haram so you when you start digging away you'll realize it's actually the Nixon uh presidential campaign that's at the

2:22:18

heart of all this thinking on psychedelics and it's crazy but this is how it is like you just go back 50 years uh and this is what it is it's actually 50 60 years and this is where the culture changed and they pumped so much into it they got governments on board they got people and then later on people just did it because they just believed it and some people just innocently believed it so it's not about I'm not saying it's some kind of great conspiracy people that say these things are harmful genuinely believe they're harmful they're not they're not part of a conspiracy they just genuinely believe

2:22:57

they're harmful but they are misinformed and when you start looking into the how are they misinformed you realize there's a lot of uh kind of cultural and social kind of biases that have crept into them it's a bit like like anything that you see it's like you go back and I'm telling you you know in 10 years from today in 20 years from today this is going to be the norm no very few Scholars are going to say it's Haram very few it's like if you went 20 years ago all these Scholars said photographs are Haram those Scholars are still alive today

2:23:37

those Scholars have got their own photographs and don't even discuss it today I guarantee you the likes and this is not a personal attack but let's say you take the likes of and this kind of thinking and not to pick on but that kind of thinking you go back just 20 years all of the cellophia deemed photographs Haram

2:24:07

the Oliver of very few ulama one to ulama who was saying photographs of Halal were considered deviants and were considered that they were doing shirk today everybody's got photographs and nobody even talks about it and it's only been 20 years you go back to 2003. it's only 2023. so it's not that far by 2043 psychedelics will be the norm as in I'm not saying people are taking mystical experiences will be the norm but what I'm saying is using it to cure depression and using it as medicine will

2:24:43

be the norm right now the UK the U.S in certain States they're already using it they've already I think they're in their third clinical phase trials there's a big pharmaceutical company that's already working on DMT and trying to have sub-hallucinatory quantities of DMT in for treating it because if they can get that then they're going to make big money out of it right so this will remove all this you know why can I ask why are antidepressants not Haram like the amount of damage that antidepressants are doing but but because you know if you ask yourself why are these things not Haram the scholars will say oh but the doctors

2:25:22

say it's okay of course the doctors say it's okay because big Pharma says it's okay this is a lot of money involved in this and I'm not saying there's no good in antidepressants sure but there's a lot of harm you know there's a lot of harm in antidepressants as well now if you read what's happening and and now you see this kind of stuff and the good it's doing and how it's bringing people's life how it's curing depression how it's changing lives around how it's I mean you'll never find I mean okay you might find

2:26:00

okay you might find some let me tone this down you might find some stories where some people will say I took psychedelics and I had a horrible experience or I got so scared and it took me a month or two to get my life back together you know because I was so terrified and that can happen I'm not saying it can't I'm not it's not impossible uh because what happens when you for people who take these things they go into the unknown and the unknown is a very scary place it is the unconscious and we don't have access to what you know what we spoke about before

2:26:37

you go into it it can be a scary place because you just don't know now what really scares you is just the unknown of it the thing itself might not be like if you walk into a dark room the dark room did not scare you you became scared because of the unknown it's not that the dark rooms get like if you're in a room you're going to sleep you switch the light off you don't get scared because that's not the unknown to you if you walked into a dark room

2:27:16

and you got suddenly scared it's not darkness that scares you it's the unknown because it's your mind reacting to the unknown it's terrifying you somebody else could walk into a dark room and not get scared so the issue is with psychedelics yes it is the unknown so people's own mind does scare them so I'm I'm not saying psychedelics is for everybody should do psychedelics sure they shouldn't I I don't say that everybody should do these things but I do I would I don't see how it's Haram but I would agree that it's maybe it's not for everyone

2:27:56

um well that's that's the point of Mufti said that uh I don't have an issue with using for depression or anxiety and all those other things even marijuana is now medical marijuana is used for all those things but the thing is that if somebody is healthy going to school college and as they start taking these kind of things and then suddenly you see you hear that it is dropped out from school because so that's the thing that uh yeah now that that is bad and to be honest look these things Here's my thought on them okay so this is my thought my thought is that these

2:28:36

things are medicine and they are not they are to be handled like medicine they are not like like right now you're not just taking antibiotics I'm not just taking anti you know you wouldn't just sure you can take vitamins and things daily but you know you wouldn't just take medicine now to me one this is medicine and should always be treated like medicine two just as medicine is used to treat a situation so that's important that there is a

2:29:15

situation there is something this is now the final part which is most important I feel generally for people generally this will help people in the latter half of their lives I feel there is something about an age that once you reach that age this may be very helpful for you before that age you are too precocious you're too before that age it's like for example look if a 12 year old wanted to start bodybuilding it's not like he hasn't fully reached

2:29:54

that physical maturity yet he will just he may harm himself or if he doesn't harm himself he's not going to do it's not the age yet you know wait till you in your 20s wait till you're older it will have a much better at that age it will work bodybuilding will similarly there is a mental there is a kind of spiritual maturity and a mental majority that go hand in hand when you're in your 20s You're Just Too Young I'm not saying for Spiritual maturity but for a mental maturity you're too young like you might think you're old but you're not actually old

2:30:33

enough that reaches even the Quran speaks of this age of 40. that when he reached 40 he had reached this kind of age of maturity this kind of it had now solidified you don't call Young he writes that that there is something about the mystical experience the numinous experiencing the numinous that helps a man or a woman navigate the latter half you know the the second 40 Years of your life having a mystical experience it does

2:31:11

something in that second half that I feel many of us in this day and age in the first 40 years we're not there yet and even if you have a mystical experience it may be great but I think it's too soon like you wouldn't benefit from it the way just like if a child started or a 12 year old or a 14 year old started going to the gym it's not the same like it's it's even if he thinks no one benefiting but it's not the same there is a maturity that must be reached so I would feel that there is an age

2:31:48

and that age is around 40. that when a person has reached that stage that there is now an emotional uh maturity inshallah a mental maturity that becomes fertile and receptive if they are and it's not you know a person could take psychedelics every day and not have a mystical experience and by the way people wouldn't take these things every day they like medicine it's not a something that you know would be uh it's just two these things are too overwhelming they're not like you know people this is another thing you know we have this delusional world where people

2:32:27

think these things are like drugs like you know like marijuana for example there's nothing like apples and oranges different things all together so you see it's not like you couldn't just you know people who smoke marijuana smoke marijuana every day or every other day and it's like a relaxant there's nothing like that it's totally different you know it's like saying you know it's just a different it can't be explained except by you know I guess so or maybe read it or watch on it for people but the point is there is an age and a criticality to that age like and I do feel 40 and this is when

2:33:04

Carl Young was speaking about that uh why this that there is an age that then it becomes helpful before that he feels that the new the mystical experience kind of is neither here neither the it doesn't get used but when a person is in the last 40 Years of their life the latter 40 from 40 onwards like let's say a person is going to live to 80. now that that he feels that maybe some goodness can come off that look I don't yeah I kind of went off but it was more importantly it was epic heavy you know speaking to you and

2:33:43

having you join us from uh San Francisco Allahu Akbar I'm gonna wrap this up now and uh yep it's getting quite late here quick question before you wrapping it up sure I'll quickly try to wrap it up yep from your discussion I concluded that if someone is uh sick they need it but uh somebody who is not sick I mean they don't have to use that am I yes I so so my yes so my guidance on psychedelics my kind of guidance and

2:34:23

this is look these are issues of uh of you know personal understandings and people can disagree and say that look I get I respect many people it is as categorically Haram and I respect their opinion that's their opinion their understanding of how they see uh psychedelics or plant medicine in line with the faith to me these plants are not Haram uh you know mushrooms are not Haram to me uh neither is the DMT and and those plants but should it be my guidance on the matter is that these are medicine these are not

2:35:00

to be you know they're too powerful and can they be helpful they yes they of course they can be helpful but is it for everyone no it's not for everyone can it can it terrify certain people yes it can terrify certain people and so they should be where you see you are dealing with a very strong power it is very very powerful to not underestimate its power and it can scare the living hell out of you and does not matter how strong you think you are if it's not about physical strength okay if you become terrified and it can be

2:35:39

very very difficult for some people to refine themselves uh just because they don't have a you see look the only thing you are sure of and you harvest your mind yeah now what happens with this is you lose your mind just imagine that for a moment you will lose your mind it is not a joke that is of it can be incredibly terrifying beyond measure like I mentioned to some people they experience an actual death not an actual physical death but they think they're going through death

2:36:18

so whatever death must be they they think that they experience it in that moment to some people they you know so so these things are not toys you know they of yes they are they have a lot of power and that's why they can heal they can heal things like as powerful as you know Class A drug addiction they can heal alcoholism which drugs can't heal because they're so powerful but so much power can be dangerous you see because anything that powerful

2:36:57

if you know if you're not ready if you're not it can be you know power can be destructive I get it in a different sense it can be can be debilitating it is not a toy so how about you would just so just as just as a gun could you know it can be used to defend but you wouldn't put it in the hand of a child so I would be very clear that look this is a medicine it is sacred you treat it that way do not treat it like a toy if anybody is looking into this they they should be a hell of a lot of research and there should be a lot of guidance on these matters and they should only be

2:37:36

done with practitioners who know what they're doing people who can make sure that you're safe make sure that if a person is about to have a nervous breakdown they can handle them these things shouldn't be done recklessly and these things uh really where they are being done for a to unleash its powerful to to to have let's say to encounter a mystical experience that is for really a certain age and Beyond only which would be 40 and beyond that they seem to have that kind of an impact uh that's what a lot of people say a lot of psychologists like Carl Jung and other people say that I mean I would that would make sense to somebody

2:38:16

like me as well but I wouldn't just I would advise people if you're thinking this is some kind of a toy is this some kind of fun stay well away from it right do not do this if you think this is some kind of fun because that's it's not that and you you could you know your your what you might encounter you know maybe just terrifying beyond words so do not do not treat it like like a toy at all okay so I hope that's some very uh serious words to help

2:38:54

people and saying look stay you know unless this is if if this is something somebody is taking as a sacred medicine to heal themselves then do a lot of research contact practitioners that actually deal with this stuff wherever they are in the world go have this under supervision of people who are experts in this who know how to handle things you know it's like anything if you're going to you know you're going to take medicine you're going to ask if you just start taking antibiotics loads of them you you probably uh you know you know damage your liver and damage your kidneys and you could lead to you know some serious health

2:39:33

complications maybe in some cases death so the same thing it's these things are under the supervision of experts you know if you just think hey you know I'm feeling a bit down you know my friends got a bunch of anti uh biotics you know I'm just going to take them or you know my friends got a bunch of antidepressants I'm going to take them could be that would be highly Reckless okay I clearly warn against this stuff uh doing any of that I do not condone that kind of behavior this is only this is say this is medicine only people who know about it it should always be done

2:40:12

like that with supervision with things like that as to do is it haram well to me it's medicine as long as it's with practitioners in safe hands it is always it is not Haram right but taking anything recklessly see The Reckless Behavior even if something is not Haram but a behavior and an attitude could be Haram sometimes you see that's a different issue that being Reckless like this whole kind of that is an attitude that the Sharia warns against and it condemns that kind of Reckless attitude even if a thing in and of itself is not Haram so just as to take you know the

2:40:52

ruling as if you just picked up antibiotics because your friend had them in his house and you ran home and said I'm going to take these antibiotics antibiotics in and of themselves are not Hara but this Reckless Behavior would be prohibited by the Sharia so there's a difference you see so that's how I would uh close that topic that look it's medicine in and of itself is not Haram psychedelics in my understanding to some people it is uh but it is medicine only in the hands of practitioners but a Reckless Behavior to just pick it up do these things on your own without guidance without Specialists without

2:41:30

that attitude would be hard on because of your Reckless attitude but it's not the thing is not in and of itself the thing is a medicine which is actually very healing so but just this is what I'm saying the the attitude and the behavior just as you going and that's the closest example I could give my approximation just picking up a bunch of antibiotics and medicines from your friend's house because they have them and thinking well I'm just gonna do it myself that attitude is Haram in Islam but the antibiotics themselves are not Haram so it's a similar thing and I would just

2:42:09

leave it with that example so I hope that uh explains using marijuana applies the same rule I mean if they are taking as a medical okay but if the kids are taking it yeah so so marijuana my stance against marijuana and and things like that is much harsher like I uh most people taking I would feel weed for anybody before anybody that is taking it before the age for example of uh when the brain has

2:42:48

fully grown so the brain fully grows about 25. hey you have neuroplasticity ends before that age it is categorically Haram because you are damaging synaptic connections that haven't even grown yet so you're damaging them this is irreversible damage by the way you are not allowing certain things to grow in your your brain when you're 18 19 20 your brain has not fully grown it continues to physically I don't mean intelligent growing I mean physically growing it doesn't fully stop growing in its way till about 25.

2:43:23

if you start interrupting it with marijuana and ruining it that is you're physically causing harm to yourself physically so that would be categorically Haram beyond that age people who are taking it as medicine if they're taking it as guidance and as a then it wouldn't be Haram but it would be that same ruling there like that you know if they're doing it with uh you know some kind of but you have to be weary that look marijuana if it's medical grade it's different it comes with regulations what you're getting off the street is not going to be pureed as marijuana it's going to be laced with things these things do create a lot of mental health issues later on

2:44:02

in life they create things like paranoia sometimes can create schizophrenia induce you have marijuana induced schizophrenia marijuana induced psychosis all of these things once your brain messes up your mind messes up it's very difficult to come back from that it's very difficult to find a person whose mind went psychotic and then he came back and became normal very difficult to find individuals like that once the bind goes It goes it's not like a broken bone that mends itself if you lose your mind the out highly

2:44:42

likely chances you will never regain it to how it was before that is what so far Psychiatry has got to they don't know people that become psychotic they they seldom ever apart from temporary induced psychosis that you get sometimes like uh you'll get which is delusional psychosis or different which is temporary but generally when people become they become schizophrenic or they become they have these things very seldom you know you find that they become normal and healthy again mentally they just live with their condition so

2:45:21

they just live to control it but they stay with it so be careful with things that mess up your mind marijuana can do that okay marijuana can mess up the mind now if taken moderately as a medicine I'm sure it's okay you know under supervision because taking small amounts of things even if they mess with you your mind your body can handle it small amounts you know we take sugar the body cleans it you know it handles it it's dangerous to us but we can handle it people take certain things it gets into the blood-brain barrier but the brain the blood cleans it you start taking a lot you

2:46:01

know you may risk losing your mind at a later age so people may Allah Grant good health to everyone uh you know these things people look people that take weed and marijuana they're doing it to de-stress a lot of the times there are so many other ways that you can de-stress one of the easiest ways you can find short videos it's just through your breath three minutes two minutes of an exercise even three minutes or two minutes of

2:46:41

just control breathing leads to uh de-stressing I mean this is measured you can see how it will reduce cortisone levels how it will change your kind of blood pressure how it will alter your state of mind how it will help you fall asleep people don't fall victim to these things don't ruin your lives because honestly with drugs you that is what happens you know with these things because most of these people that take weed and do things not gonna be they're not going to get it from medical maybe in America in certain places but in other places they're just getting it from a local drug dealer

2:47:20

these things are dangerous you're ruining your life so may Allah help you may Allah make it easy for you and you know may he Grant you good health me Grant everybody I mean good health guys with that uh much love Allah bless you mahab um joining us today it was honored to talk with you

2:47:47

2:48:20
