As-salamu alaykum, folks. I want to share a memory with you guys, actually, about memories. And then a reflection. Now, many years ago, when my uncle was still alive, I was in uh in fact, one of the first times I met him when I was studying in Pakistan and he came up from Karachi.

0:34

And you know, he said this poem. And he wasn't somebody that was that much into poetry. He was a very cool guy, wallahi. So cool, man. Uh proper had this kind of you know, just this kind of air about him, almost like a celebrity, like a Bollywood actor kind of thing. He was a uh like an inspector in the uh Karachi cop. He used to run his own crime unit.

1:01

And he we were in this car and he said this poem. That that you know, the candles, the lamps of your memories, let them stay with me.

I don't know in which pathway of life or which alley way of life I will the sun will set, as in life will come to an end, in which alleyway of life, as a metaphor. That Ujale Apne Yaadon Ke Saath Hamare Rehne Do.

Na Jaane Kis Gali Mein Zindagi Ki Sham Ho Jaye. And it's Bashir Badr's poem. Beautiful poem. But I was just thinking, you know, we each and every one of us, to us people we know they're all memories and sometimes they're strange memories. You know, you don't even know why is there a memory that could be from decades old of a particular thing.

2:25

may not appear meaningful. It may not I mean, we have good memories and bad memories, but we just have like strange oddities and and that is that person in your in your mind's world.

2:48

That is how they live on. And I don't just mean people who've passed away, them too. But also people here. That there's a version of each and every one of us in the minds of the people we know. And it may not mirror up to the our own version of us.

3:14

And they may just have a strange memory of us, you know, and that's you know, I have this I was thinking about this a memory. It is It's nothing so It's a friend of mine, very dear friend, but like an old memory where he's just we're sitting drinking tea and having crisp and and he says that oh, crisp and chai go really well together. I mean, I was thinking I was just thinking that I mean, that's like I don't know, over a decade or something, that memory and like that, we have so many flashbulb

3:52

memories you know It's not with like we're trying to remember them. And it's not even that we can by just trying always sometimes you're trying to remember something you can't. And yeah, but that's I guess what it is in the end isn't it just a a series of playback of memories. I suppose with that let's try to be joyous and pleasant memories for people.

4:26

Amen. You know, that they have these flashbulb that we live on in their minds in this way. I was thinking about this this morning. I thought let's share it with you guys. Allah bless you all. May he bless your day. Keep you all smiling. Salamullahi alaykum. Wakhuda Hafiz.
