uh uh gracing us Insha'Allah tonight somebody we have brought on uh only once before and been so eager to bring the Sheikh back on somebody I've known for approaching now perhaps the better part of three decades an absolute light and Beacon uh for for the Islamic Sciences especially the school of Medina and theology let me bring right on people we've got assalamu alaikum Iqbal
right so first and foremost uh shukran right let me just check that uh right sorry I've uh right I your sound is coming through now so first and foreign right sure wow it's been uh quite a while we've been um just catching up as well I'm just straightening and life as you were saying is what is just passing us all by
it is uh literally literally uh you know inhale and we exhale and we thank Allah for every breath that he gives us topic to take we can't you know we don't realize what um every breath is especially you know when you see that you know um
you're not gonna get one breath more and one breath less than what is your you know portion so alhamdulillah it's um you know um it's a text I started translating and then you know something puts the fear of God into you um I I stopped it's um advice um of um
uh uh he had a Sheikh from Dr Kerwin in Fez uh his name a very you know unknown man uh Muhammad it's I'm actually uh with an alif um yeah um and um uh one of his he he wrote to rizala to his muridine
sorry not in fit I have fake on my mind but you know um someone you know if so long as people like you have on their mind we are we are saved honestly someone reached out to me from Libya and he says look I'm going through um [Music]
the best though I can give to you and this is you know the best of our that you know I can give to any of our listeners and those who are watching is Allah give you I mean yeah because um when you read Allah he gives you and um effect is uh how you understand
uh you know our journey to God because you know the Deen is a means it's not the goal the goal is God and um it's our understanding of you know how we are uh with each breath we are journeying to him and this is what you know sudhiana was saying was our job is to have Adam in whatever situation he puts us with and to thank him and um you know the greatest thankfulness
that we can it's literally you know the breath you have it you're alive no breath that's the end of it wow it is and it is so intricately bound even etymologically shared with ruach isn't it this is yeah yeah yeah and um is flowing alhamdulillah may Allah keep it flowing and it's not gonna
the time is you know it's uh it that's it and to come to uh it's literally you know tonight is the 19th night if you accept you know the night becomes before the day okay yeah yeah and it's you know once you uh it's one of the odd nights are odd number and it's also you know it's um someone that you know um
I I personally you know everyone has this uh inclination too from the sahabara my yeah my go-to end with begin with is Satan Ali and um uh tonight is uh you know um people who claim to you know follow and they will be up and tonight or tomorrow night and depending on the day you know his when he is struck by him but the thing is that you know he he was a man there's
a um an amazing um work by you know Harvey's yeah and it it's a scholar that you know students of knowledge should learn more from because here you know you know his name is just so amazing as it is you know but by by you know lineage he's almost okay yeah but he's Fair he's not you know just because he's umawi he doesn't mean that you know he's going to throw a spanner in the works like you know a lot of our Scholars are
known for a president passed um he you know this uh tonight before soap right he has a small work mocktail foreign is going you know back and forward back and forward it's like you know he doesn't want mourning to come it's like you know
it you know when the thing that we have um hindsight yeah like yeah like a foresight look at going forward no hindsight all of us have yeah we all have that yeah foresight is something that you know the very lucky people have and this is the thing that you know uh
from what you know he was a prophet Allah gave him what Allah gave him never kept any think that you know Allah gave from the ummah of course yeah but but the thing is there are certain things that you know the prophet prophesized about certain individuals um and they never forgot and you know the death of Satan Ali is prophesized and the way he is going to
die is prophesized and this man never forgot is someone that you know if you read um Jeremy uh Hafiz uh I'd like to quote you know um um it's someone who from whom I benefited greatly and he would call you know Abdul bar you know um and they give him this title appetite
that you know yeah he would say no half is a Dunya it just does not do justice to the man well seriously someone that can uh you know he he's famous you know for his uh Tom heed and then his Steph Curry and you know people are
amazed by you know how he opens up you know um you know uh burden the ummah with you know when he wrote The Motto it was a seriously strong because you know too uh do what he did yeah and the thing is that you know uh uh something that you know we were taught right from the beginning is whatever you do it foreign
yeah now Imam Malik authored the work so it was something that he did not do you know to make money to position or whatever so it was a burden the ummah never paid it's like you know the adage that you know uh the ulama have that you know saying that uh Imam you know um uh by authoring he burdened them and then
paid the debt but who half is a Dunya you know he paid the debt he paid the debt by you know authoring the term heed and my you know the genius of the man my understanding of it and I loved the man yeah I do too I love it but any position that I have you will find it rooted in the position of harvest
and um uh The Genius of the man is to author a work that goes into 30 plus modern volumes yeah and then reduce it to one volume that to me that is the height of Genius he reduces it into one volume one volume takasa yes yes yes yes one volume and why does he do it he says the ummah doesn't have the time if you people like me would come it'd be
like these guys are useless yeah I'm gonna read these the term heat and you know people have played with this with the time you know if anybody um uh still you know the one that people tirelessly worked where you know uh the Moroccan government project took them 20 21 years and that is the best addition to date because you know the late the ones that have come later especially you know um the one printed
by um you know London for Khan um uh is the one edited by um you know uh seriously say it again was it no no no no no no no no no no no no didn't um do anything on them he he he worked on one volume like you know I think no no no no no no no he he worked on one of the volumes and that the Moroccan government and the 20 one-year project um
it's a um an Iraqi um encyclopedia I would really call him an encyclopedia oh not the uh I can't remember his name there okay but all right okay and those no no no I would like fan is you know Tunisian yeah okay okay is his name turkey something no no no not Turkey um if it comes to me I'll tell you I'll tell you why it's playing it's
you do not add if you are presenting the term heat you do not add something from another work and present it as it's like uh Abdul but you know right gives a brief um introduction to the IBM you don't need to add from you know his mudaka to you know uh where he has the biographies of the four uh three-man scene yeah he adds it and then you know he uh arranges its subject matter that is not the dumheed you should not present it as
that some heat but again doesn't stick to exactly what he's done what he's done because because the thing is this is the thing that you know when uh Imam muhammadi alhamdulillah you know when his recession his rewire of the water he he he I uh if someone did it now and I have said this before and um you know Imam muhammadi is someone that was uh critiqued you know within his lifetime after his lifetime uh he is an Imam who
the hell is um Iqbal but again certain things things need to be said yeah you do not take if I write a letter and I give it to you know um can you pass this on he shouldn't you know um uh rearrange that letter and then pass it on there isn't a Mana isn't there there is an Iman but again uh uh it is um uh a work of um uh you know the
work of um uh Muhammad sharbani uh his ribaya it's you know I uh to do justice it will be intermitted work yeah it's not you know the rewire it's not the motto of Iman Malik and it's not no no it's yeah because it's it's basically a book of Imam Muhammad where he is responding to the mother uh in in in to a significant part that's what what is actually is it's like a response to the mother yes but again uh you know the adage that uh Imam Sharif
he said I don't like argumentation but I love it when the truth is heard from the opponent's mouth yeah so the work itself handle is good but it's also a critique itself it's really interesting okay you feel that he's critiquing that it is a critique because the thing is he agrees with uh his mother need teacher on more times than he agrees with his um kufan teacher he is massive he is undeniably let me put it like that influenced by Imam
Malik I mean who who wouldn't be ultimately but yeah yeah um you know in his um uh commentary on the motor okay he's on record he says if you want to see the influence of madani fit on kufenfik then read the kitabula of Muhammad okay wow that's a handful Iman yeah that's a hanafi Iman wow and because the mortar is something that you know when you
it was not written like you know any of the books of Hadith were written it predates that project doesn't it if he dates it but it's actually a continuation of something okay what do you feel um even at your age he's one of the teachers of Imam Malik sure yeah
but he's someone who authored a work yeah doesn't he have his uh isn't it like a Marathi type of thing or something no not because he actually has a work okay he has a work which uh doesn't reach us but it's you know the uh era of the sanif you know when uh that begins he's someone who authors are working then you have you know in the year 100 um uh uh um you know um he orders you
know the people in the other cities to collect the hadees yes and um tasks do that but yeah so okay yeah yeah Abu hazam is not asked to collect Hadith I thought he was asked as well you know what is it yeah it's amazing how the wording goes he says collect the Sunnah uh okay now it's really interesting that you know uh how
um the understanding because at the end of the day you know um you know his education education wise he's a he's a a student of you know Imam uh um Salim and others yeah because um he is at the end of the day you know the people of Madina isn't it he's from the family of um yes he's uh um his mother's side uh they actually come from the land side but it's he differentiates between Hadith
and Sunnah but again um his prolific for his narrations yes yes and it's interesting that I know of only two uh how much uh I mean Imam shahabuddin zori's work did he finish it did he I don't know yeah because there's no mention of this afterwards is it there's the I so here's what I understood I assumed that there was so so it's a bit disconnected but um
commissions this let's come you know the Hadith or Sunnah uh he asks Madina but then for some reason ends up commissioning I don't know what but ends up commissioning this is what I assumed uh who allegedly does it but not with the chains and stuff but I don't know what he compiles because it doesn't ever then you just like there's just a shift and the next generation are also writing books and so there's like a disconnect in the story but the thing is there is no disconnect if you look at it okay there is no disconnect because you know
when uh after the death of Imam Malik they find sundo full of narrations does not you know uh and he doesn't narrate at all either doesn't he I think some people said he'd rather have his kind of throat slit than than kind of no no the interesting thing is that you know all of uh the narrations that are in the sahiyan which deal uh with you know our history [Music]
is Malik narrating from it's worth really worth its uh amazing um it's something that happened you know um I think it was post no pre-covered uh I ended up with um [Music] kidney stones and then you know uh afterwards I was you know not able to do much for a couple of months and I went through you know the sitter uh and he was a
cut and paste job but it was interesting how I found out how much information that is there from Malik in you know the sitter okay hmm and um does finish his work that to me was interesting well how do you feel this gets transmitted or the continuity of it it's something you know um the conversation that happened uh with
his longest relationship you know he has with his one of his teachers which is you know with um even Hormuz okay yeah if we uh even if we take you know the extreme example that he was uh studied within for 30 years because you know he lived into his 90s okay and um he
would say he would say why he would um teach Imam Malik is that he would you know choose what to transmit he wouldn't transmit everything that he took from all his teachers so this is Imam Malik transmitting from us from history saying to someone else that Imam Malik chooses what to transmit right yes yes yes yes so here you've got you know a teacher commenting on you know the caliber of the student
yeah this is when he's rejecting to teach other people yes yeah but he's saying so the the the individual says but you teach Malik he says he differentiates yeah from he doesn't transmit everything I say you will transmit everything outside it takes a particular genius you see to be able to to know what what is on the record what isn't yeah what is not and and the thing you find is that you know with even a rage
it's something that I have been working on for uh quite some years it's uh I get how my mind works is I will work on something because you know I have this uh interest that you know I I want to dig as deep as I can on this point okay uh and something it sometimes it just gets to you because you know the information that comes up it's uh I know it's ramzan but you know it's you get so much you know I don't
want to use the S word but yeah you can you can use any words you want the thing is that uh and even a jury just such you know uh as a transmitter he is so meticulous doesn't he doesn't he kind of like do a lot of it at least oh this is the thing he doesn't seriously he doesn't I because you see the people what happens is this is the
thing that you know uh I thank God I was introduced to the romaris they say don't do taklit now people think that takleid means that you just accepting someone's opinion without you know yes accept their opinion but you must know where they are getting that opinion from of course so if that opinion is you know faulty that it's like you know the the thing of um even at your age being a modelist yeah yeah because I've come across some
really kind of like strange descriptions it's after all the research on it is just putting it together now um I'll tell you what it is about it's you know this Hadith like you know um which is the prophecy okay about the scholar of Medina oh yes yes yes yes that you will find
everyone will you know weaken this do they yeah you know uh even a drage is one of the famous rabbis of it he's a modelist which you just told me yeah but I wasn't talking about this narration narration I feel is from the Prophecies of this um but the thing is that you see the well-known narration is from the manager age okay
is the one as well who says we believe this to be Malik is who you are taking it from right well uh you find that you know Malik the land was alive and while he was in Medina uh he would say you it's Malik afterwards he would say it's um uh you know umari who's Omri uh
oh this is because normally I can't remember his full name he was um you know zahid oh right okay but you know the Hadith states that that there will come a time when there will be this kind of Gold Rush towards knowledge and You Shook and today yes now in that time the prophet says means it's very close to the prophet's time and then he says that that you know that they won't find anybody more knowledgeable than the scholar of Medina
yes now the the gold rush for knowledge doesn't it it starts in the turbine kind of era going into the attraction you start to get people traveling far and wide to seek knowledge and so that time is there but in Medina so one of the things that the ulama says that like you had the you know the seventh of Medina and you had after them like
but there was never a time that there was just one who was a legend in Medina except Malik's time that he was just just Imam Malik and so this is why I felt that obviously his knowledge aside that people felt that even the Quran the circumstances point to that if there was to be a time where there was just Madina it would be the manifestation the mistak uh it would be instantiated in Imam Malik so that's um with several people saying that as well like uh Abdullah and I I I've read
ibna as well amongst others even though yena is um problematic on this point yes he's a Robbie of this hadees yeah but you know um he changed his mind uh according to who you are listening to yeah and then you know people who uh recorded or who are transmitters of this Hadith uh from you know the uh works that were authored um especially you know from the sitter all right okay because this is found in you know um yeah
now the interesting thing here is that you know Imam Timothy says is Hassan sahir right yeah yeah have a look in the modern editions what it has it doesn't have the word oh they've just left Hassan because what's happened is again it goes back to I remember this the Scholar's name that I was trying to Bashar bashara Yes
actually somebody wrote that in the comments you know they wrote um yes yes so that's sorry I saw that I didn't make the connect what you uh what he does this is the problem that you know when it comes to uh and you know he is teacher of majority of our Scholars who are editing manuscripts right but he's against this kind of uh you know this like uh up kind of like rethinking manuscripts and stuff in the
sense like to to correct them or change them even if you think you're correct I because I've watched his lectures where he's kind of very apparently he's kind of anti that in the lecture I watch he is but you know um I I uh just look at some of his works you know his edition of um [Music] totally you know uh a hand on my heart you know Imam would turn in his grave what he did to it wow seriously uh the because what's happening is look what he has done and what his students
have are doing still is you know the autograph of Missy yeah yeah yeah so if that's what the standard they are going by so when they edit a Hadith work they will say look we are using uh so if it's not in there they will edit it out yeah now the interesting thing is that uh thank God we still have you know additions and manuscripts um that these people
uh have not you know edited it's like you know um uh the caramel Cobra sugra and Worcester so in the magrabi transmission of tiramiti um he
has this Hadith you know right okay yeah so in a camel Cobra and I think is but you know you've got you know two harvises and they're transmitting they're saying it's then you know in um in India you know um uh what's the famous um commentary by Mubarak Puri uh uh his uh he's
actually using the manuscript which is in India right yeah he's not relying on mizzy so in there is Hassan sahir and then you know you find that you know um the uh famous hanafi scholar who migrates from Tata you know modern day Pakistan um yeah sorry you know which one I'm talking about so he brings he he brings you know the Indian transmission
uh often with the two two scientists so you know the sound the addition of tirumathi um which is you know uh uh the editors have relied upon that transmission again in there is um okay but you know the addition uh by you know um no foreign because I I feel that I was listening to a um there was a lecture I shared a few years back by uh Bashar award and he is speaking in there about
um about kind of uh Manus uh script efforts and projects and he's speaking about a project uh so he's speaking of an example when he was working on the um you know of uh on the tactic of Ahmed Shakir on the Mahala and so he but in that example you see this is what's making me think as well because a lot of these projects he's with people as well doing them so he he's doing it and he's got other people but maybe I don't know if his name is always just because he's the more popular one is being carried forward or he I don't know but he gives an example that when he was doing that
uh in it's on YouTube he says when we were doing that he says that in um he says in the manuscript of Mahala there was a rewire of sahih Muslim but he says that the wording so he says he's I've I don't know if he names his kind of partner in it well but the person working with him uh he updates the Hadith in the text because the printed Edition yes so in in the work they're doing so the actual manuscript of the Mahala has the narration it says Muslim and the wording is different to what we have in sahi
Muslim today so he updates it to the current thing now Bashar in his kind of in this lecture he says he wasn't happy about that but he but he doesn't say he'd but he states that it went ahead though so as in that that's what got published but he says that look this was wrong because uh he says that the argument they used to show me was look but inside Muslim it says it like this and that wording isn't there so his point was that it is possible that the rewire that reached ibrahazam in andalus was a different variation but by
standardizing it today you're kind of back projecting a false history like you're kind of trying to standardize history but uh with time we've actually found now more narrations that were in andalus and with IBN hazam that do show that he most likely had uh like a variant narration that had reached andalus but people are editing it out now they're standardizing it to the current so when we read it now we think oh they all had the same but so that was just an example uh which I found very fascinating he mentioned in the lecture he he he does
again he his knowledge of manuscripts it's he's someone that you know can recognize especially you know Imam zahabi's handwriting oh wow it's he his knowledge of manuscripts the second to none is as I said a living you know uh Encyclopedia of manuscripts but when it come when I was looking at this yeah uh I found that you know it wasn't just in Timothy you know where it came in because he's an editor of um [Music]
even there um again I find that you know people are not you know true yeah um for instance you know Imam Tahari you know the great um yeah so he has his very popular yes which is the Clashing of the Hadith yeah but in this when he brings this he actually brings one narration which even the editor
it's a yeah but then in other places you know it's like you know um the beauty of you know uh computers and these search engines or whatever it's amazing um uh it's either they didn't have good editors you know checking their work or you know there was no cross-referencing of you know the other works that he had done I think AI will do something about this year in a couple of years you know chat GPT when it turns
out it's amazing oh I love it yeah uh it's you know this thing of um you know um uh Douglas yeah uh especially you'll find um uh that at least entrepreneur age is someone is not happy with the way he prayed and he
find that you know um uh the confusion was that you know two people had the same name it's like you know before I was mentioning to you you know even a Horrible's there's two of them right yeah yeah yeah yeah same name same city but you know both you know really famous you know one is very famous for his Hadith Transmissions the other is famous but you know not that famous and it's the same with this that you know uh short bar confuses
even at your age with another one I think because Shopper's the one saying I saw him somebody come up and he's just taking each answer from him of the whole book he said should I just transmit and he said yes yes the root cause this is the root cause of Ebenezer age being weakened and guess what there's another even in your age
but don't you know another way to see this year no but because see this one is clarify what she writer does it shows that shoba is confused true and another way could we not also see this as because the era that these people are living in it predates that era of uh you know the great mahadithin project which is going to come in the century after so in this era you see the way I would see things is I would be interested sure that sonnet but more interested in the mutton like what is being conveyed and is there because a
Hadith like this a prophecy it has no need to be uh kind of fabricated manufactured forged somebody could say for example oh out of love of Imam Malik people did it but it's actually being transmitted by the mutkins not by the the madanis and so really it's to me I don't see this mutton that what it's saying that the prophet saying that a time will come but from his City that they will find you know the most knowledgeable person about the Deen to me this this fits in line with just just makes sense with reason with with circumstances with description with the
prophecy it's not something which is for example politically motivated it's not something which uh is so far-fetched that it's you know it's it would have to I'm just saying from a mutton analysis perspective I can't I would assume that there isn't really you know many there is it's not it's not a problem uh unless I suppose to people who have a problem with the Imam Malik maybe so people people had problems with it
but I think it's just look you know someone like Evan is your age yeah yeah sorry not even into ragee you see uh shogba confuses him with someone else okay yeah yeah we consume that weakening comes downwards people you know who have not even met the question was you know why would you know um someone make up something like this it's like
he uh says that he agrees with them the other one so sure I mean sure look there's no uh to say it's not like for example that the prophet is saying by the way people there's going to be a man called us and so on but if anything that's how that's how they see it yeah and so if anything that's why they're weakening it the city of Medina even from a rational Viewpoint it's like when Imam Malik is asked and he says that you know he says
if you want to learn knowledge then take up residence in Medina that this that it was here that the Quran was revealed it is here that the messenger of Allah lived it was here that jibril manifested and so it that that's an argument you know he says it's not at the at the Riverbanks of the Euphrates you know you're not gonna find that's not where the Prophet lived now this argument which is really just you know in manifestation you can't argue with it I I can't see how anybody could truly argue against the tradition
the living tradition of Medina because within the sahaba's grandchildren's time you know Imam Malik is born and around and learning and so it's so you've got it it it where else would I'm not saying that it isn't nowhere else obviously the sahaba Imam Malik says you know he says to the whether it's the different one he says that the sahaba you know of course we nobody's denying that you know sahaba did go to kufa Basra went to Sham dimash misar but they have their inheritors yeah and but he says here over ten thousand are
buried in bahrir and so the living tradition of Medina you can't sure nobody's denying the you know validity of that manifestation or interpretation of Islam but this is Madina you know it doesn't get any any better than that so yeah what you'll find is that you know um it's interesting how people will bring it down again and that you know at the time of um uh uh
and then you know somebody's time and then Malik's time and then you know so on and so on and so forth um I I again uh when you look at it it's malikes have never forged hadiths to prove their point yeah and that's a clear Point that's actually been stated hasn't it doesn't even attain Mia say that as well in his uh he thinks he says that from all the schools that were known to be in different sects and things like this he says but the
people of Medina for centuries were known that they were not you know they were not like uh Heretics of a deviant sector whether people agree with them or disagree with them but they will not like that yeah it's not that you know there weren't those people in Medina because you know you have that statement from Imam Malik that you know uh there were people that you know if they were put in charge of the battle mouth they would be trustworthy yeah yeah but this was not their Affair yeah do you see this you know people who go
really over the top into piety yeah uh they will you know come up with Beautiful Stories yeah and doesn't Imam Malik he says the one narrator he says that uh Abdul Kareem which people problematize and he says that you know he says you know he says for a moment like he says I slipped you know yes and this guy would always cry in the Masjid then and when he transmitted the Hadith I transmitted it from him but little did I know but look at the Hadith that he transmits right look at the
Hadith that he has from him yeah you know it's you know the Hadith that everyone uses for putting one hand over the other and you know we were talking about you know before you know even Abdul bar he says he is one of those that Imam Malik was you know because Imam Malik would say is he in my book yeah and he is one of those that you know was uh you know Hoodwinked by the uh the man was ordering to buy his crying yeah because he was such a Pious
man and he has that Hadith about and you know putting one hand over the other oh that's is that the oh is that the only reason you know for a moment it slipped my mind which narration it was of his but I I knew his his story with the Imam but wow but that just goes to explain you know that just adds more flavor to the whole discourse because if that's the Hadith that just goes to because Malik had this Haber you know Imam Malik had this they say that you know there's a transmission from bukhari that he that that he had an
issue with the rawi Hussein with the thought uh or they might say hassin but Hussein and he says that they had a an issue with this rowi and they say but you know Lola Heber to Malik because Imam Malik transmitted from him you know we would have wanted to say something about Hussein but the fact that Malik you know transmitted from him it's like whoa you know because like you're saying Imam Malik would say is the person in my book you know it's like this is I I would you know with that
um there's someone that Imam Ali critiqued but bukhari transmits from him yeah yeah no but that muhammadin is hot yeah but even ikarma and and these people like I I would say that first of all ikram is not you know from the time of Imam Malik yeah yeah no and he's not from his teachers yeah no no right so his teachers teacher yeah yeah but you know Imam Malik didn't like his name being mentioned in his vaginas rightly so I would say yes yeah but it
shows but again uh uh people will turn around and say yes he's in Imam Malik's book yes but he's not someone that Imam Malik is transmitting from yeah it's someone else who is because the thing is that you know the information that we have uh from ikrama you know of the knowledge of him saying Abdullah Bin Abbas you can we have it
no and don't you find that you see generally there is a principle in that if a person transmits something which somewhat Falls in line with a kind of medherb that they follow and let's say it's a method that's not Sunni uh then in that case uh they would usually the the general principles says
so so you know let's say for example they find a narration and it's kind of shy incline and the narrative then they would say oh but this is problematic because you know he's a Shia and he's he's probably Twisted it and but his narration of which are arguably through IBN Abbas and of Saint Ali saying to kill people when they apostate uh believing in the permissibility of killing people if they commit a sin because that takes them out of the fold
of Islam this this is kind of belief isn't it so uh by that principle it ought to be problematized because a person who believes in ex like extremist ideology of like you can kill people it happens to trans be the only transmitter that allegedly said Ali is saying oh you can kill people uh that you know if they change their religion this like is that not like the alarm Bells should go but again
um uh going back to what we began talking about you know the uh the books that you know that were written yeah uh on the orders of um uh umiz um I I I I inclined to that Imam Malik through his teachers inherited the Sunnah yes especially you know Abu hazam in Medina yeah because the thing is that you know when you you know the usual story that is you know you know uh that even a magician
writes the work and it's uh if you the salad is problematic yeah the son of this problematized and a when you look because you know we've got a chapter of that book the chapter of Hajj in print so when you look at it it doesn't agree with you know what uh the transmission uh from the Imam is supposed to be that if I were to write a book I would write with evidence there's evidence in there yeah no there is in fact arguably the whole book is is kind of sensitive
so it doesn't actually agree so just for the for the people who are unaware that they so the narrative is that Imam Ali comes across the book of uh uh and he says uh that you know of this is the father of Madison Abdel Aziz I think imagine and he says that you know oh it's okay but if I was to have written a book I would have written it in a much better way with more evidences yes that that kind of quote isn't it that quote that that quote uh the Senate is problematic the Senate is problematic
uh the other thing is when you uh keep in mind that you know the two well-known people who were instructed to write turn out to be the two famous teachers of Imam Malik and then Imam Malik had you know the uh scroll upon Scroll of um
works with him so uh I think that you know um uh Imam Malik didn't begin from scratch there was already Foundation especially of his teachable husband yeah because Abu hazam is also the one very big on this Medina where he's saying to people but where is the Amal on this there's the famous narrations that they bring him a Hadith and he would say but where is the Amal of the people of Medina on this yes and yeah so you you find that again Imam Malik quotes him as well
he he is one of uh the teachers of Imam Malik from whom he quotes in the book it's not like even a Hormuz work he doesn't and the interesting thing is that you know uh Iman Malik found an amazing way of transmitting from ibno Hormuz uh without you know taking from him directly so indirectly you know when he was younger and he had other students from whom he did give permission to transmit Imam Malik transmitted that way
but why not directly through Hypno hormones he's with him because did not give him permission he didn't yeah at that stage passionate towards Phil he was at that stage of life where he was not sure of his memory he was in his 90s so even if we accept that you know he um was with him for 30 years that still means Imam Malik begins uh his tutelage with him in his 60s
and the interesting thing is Imam Malik is on record he did not take Vic from him he didn't okay so what do you think okay and again Sunnah is another word for and if you read the biography of ibrahamas he's an Imam and you know um it's interesting you know this how you'll find it's like you know the the Hadith of nazool yeah
where where does Imam Malik have it in the book The nozul of uh sorry that Allah comes down Allah comes down to the heaven lowest Heaven Lois Heavens yeah right okay now right but that makes sense no yeah but but you see do you see even a Hormuz yeah yeah so okay I see yeah yeah the uh I see I see what you're saying here yeah and you know the Hadith of um uh the the the girl who's dumb who's who
who the prophet uh is supposed where's your lord and she points us that one you know that one you know where Imam Malik has that guitar music out freeing slaves yeah you see that that is just so amazing the fear of that yeah I mean just putting it like that yeah yeah so it's okay it's not anywhere it's not in [Laughter] and the amazing thing is Imam Malik right after that has the variant of this where she speaks
you know you know the thing I was saying that he studied even though Hormuz yeah this the variant cancels out the whole thing of the uh uh that uh young girl who can't speak because in it she speaks and this is something that you know um the volume that um uh half is um Abdullah Bin Sadiq Allah you know edited he says
and correcting the transmission because yes she's mute she's dumb in the first narration but the second narration she speaks because it's in line with how the rasulullah would you know bring people into the Deen he would die ask them about God and he was ask him about them and she says uh do you believe in Allah yes do you believe in me I am says yes
sure this the you know I'm asked this by people time and time again what would you feel that the you know the the role and the potential of the mother has in this day and age then to offer because people have you know they people say oh but it's not part of the sahasid or wise what's so special about I mean not that people are dissing it but they're just kind of like um well but so what what would you you're currently teaching the mod by you and so uh and you're teaching it weekly I believe
weekly yes mashallah and that's something uh I mean on a side note can people join that or is that like right now said they can't join it I like the answers so right so what would you say now that you're engaging with the mother dynamically uh what potential does it have for people today
to quote you know is that he says he was made aware that you know from all the works the one work that could benefit the ummah was the motto and if he could he if he had the ability to you know um bring the ummah uh unite the ummah on one book after the Quran it would be the mother and he's on record he says that you know
he is happy with the balagat of Imam Malik rather than the yeah yeah who wouldn't be who wouldn't you know I I find it fascinating you know Imam Malik says it has reached me yeah I'll tell you you know to the listeners uh I I would uh the people watching uh I would really it's you know uh the greats uh uh
one of you know the Great um Cardis of Medina within my living yeah yeah this is like with the content he died yeah and he would teach you know the more uh Imam zurkani's commentary on them and he would take him five years and after five years he would begin again and the interesting thing is uh if you dig around there are actually recordings of that you know where the cassettes he
a road to work on the Ahmad of Medina is a small work he had he began to see I think I've got it I think he collected he tried to separate about 300 narrations or something I think yeah it was a series of um where you know he began a series uh and it in in that he brings forward 300 opinions you know fatwas Mal Malik without any delete
now uh you know and when you know um he researched those 300 those 300 are much it gives you you know the understanding of what the Motta is it's a so it's like you know um I I wrote a short work it's on my page on medium um you know how
Imam bukhari and Muslim uh wrote you know um how they Incorporated you know narrations from the Mortal um through you know this because the students of Imam Malik are the teachers of bukhari and Muslim Muslim or or you know students of students of course yeah but if we leave you know the six books you will not find a chapter in any of those books in which there is not a narration from
Imam Malik uh from his mother and those are the six books and even if you uh it again it's something I do intend to um uh do on you know the Sun and uh and you know the Muslim uh because what you find is that you know if you look at the uh the narrators of the Motta you know Imam Shafi is a narrator he's a founder of the Shafi method
Muhammad shaybani is a narrator direct narrator of the mother he's a direct student of Imam Malik and in we talked about you know his um um they've actually just published you know um it's in print if you look for it you'll find it inshallah um cardio abusive indirectly you know from uh even a farat narrates the more he had every opportunity to take you
from Imam Malik directly but again you know it's something that we don't need every one will know what the reasons why he couldn't yep but then you know Imam humble himself has taken it uh from you know Imam Shafi so the Motta is a source book for the freaky mothers of this world and the shocking thing is that you know um
it's also a narrate transmitted by you know the Shia imams you know the son of um uh Imam you know Imam he is you know a direct transmitter of the motto so the motpa is uh in our time just as it was before it's you know if you look at the last hundred years leave you know the contribution that the Maliki Scholars have done to them leave that aside yeah
the service that you know the hanafi scholars have done yeah it shows you you know the importance of the work itself but before him there are others as well Oh you mean previously yes of course yeah yeah and I'm just saying the last hundred years yeah yeah and if you look at you know the works that are being done now or has been done by the Mali PA that's a separate thing because you know we'll be beating our
own room which is not what it's yeah it's it's just look at you know the centrality of the work itself and if you any student of knowledge who opens a book on ilmul Hadith what will be the first Imam they will talk about it won't be uh Imam Shafi
it will always be Malik yeah you know in many ways right um in many ways this unbroken like what we've got is pre in the very early the kind of like somewhat fluid State uh that the Muslims were in when it came to documentation and Sciences and it hadn't fully become uh it had dynamism to it so the writing had emerged but still Sciences like Hadith scientists were still in a very Dynamic state from that
era of the salaf because this is so those Generations within the third generation if we want to call it after the prophet from that era to us today you see this this is a portal right back to that isn't it it's a broken chain of authenticity and Legacy like right back into it isn't it so yeah it's humbling it is very I I find and it's very something that is really heartwarming to be a part of that Legacy in that way I want to also ask you here with the names
you've mentioned like and amongst other people and obviously coming to the Imam that you see I've very you know in recent times and especially in the last year and maybe better part of two years now I found myself very um not just drawn to but just in awe of the the mysticism that comes with with with this whole tradition the the whole and I know I was recently also reading you mentioned I was reading uh a certain amount of his
things I mean it was it was more journals written about him and his views on on this whole how to understand things very mystical you're speaking of you know the island and mythal and building on hypnot Arabi and all these others before him but this whole tradition um this um this thing that you know this this the people that saw the holy for the holy and they weren't even you know they called almost aspired to a higher thing of uh of just I mean everybody aspires to Allah but just purely in a way this kind of divine love
that they were like you know in in this tradition where people are even not that they're belittling but they're saying well you know it's not even Jenna is just like toys people are distracted by or people are like this really it should be God and this sense of all and uh this is something you'll you know this whole tradition you're very uh familiar you know part of nothing but yeah like do you is there how do you see this the school of Medina and and some thoughts on this because I've been really uh drawn and and kind
of enveloped in in the all of this in recent times and I find myself just trying to learn more and more about it and um yes I'd love your thoughts and just words the motherly understanding of this is really important okay uh because what you find is that you know uh where people have separated it that is
coined that phrase it's it's not it's not made understanding the motherly understanding is you know um calls him he calls it um you know the Hadith of jibril so the Hadith of jibril when he comments on it um by the way Imam fakahani is a great you know um a great Maliki iban yeah but at the same time he's you know uh a great and uh Sufi at the to beat
and um he says that the dean is what you know here you know he calls the Hadith you know the base this is the Islam Iman yeah the important point that is highlighted is what you know the at the end when you know jibril goes after he's asked the questions and the rasulullah has answered them yeah the famous
well-known narration is through sadness do you know who the says how does you bring yeah that was jibril he came to teach you your Deen um
yeah so you know why he calls it um this is by the way is the understanding the motherly understanding of uh whatever you want to call it because it was uh at the time the word because it's part and parcel of the mission of the rasool taskia
in the words of um jibril isan how scholarship called it afterwards was the self yeah but here the rasool Allah says he came to teach you your Deen so the Deen is Iman it's not it can't be separated yeah it can't be separated you know one of the famous
um uh imams of the Malachi of at the time of um you know someone yeah yeah I've got it actually yeah yeah something of Adam or something isn't it yeah yeah it's about you know um the book is written now you can say as a rebuttal foreign
Malik and um Imam Malik is on record he says if uh to learn about myself even if I have to sit go and sit on you know a hump of you know a lump of dunk I will go and sit on it it's just you know showing that how the the necessity about knowing yourself
how you know true that is but you know um uh he he brings it forward with salad and by the way I've not checked the Senate but the important thing here yeah is saying this is part of the Deen is part of the Deen it's not you know uh something added it is a Juice It says important as you know one of your arms or a vital organized it's vital yeah
uh and just uh when you look at um uh how Allah describes the mission of Satan Allah makes after laying the foundations of the Kaaba is that you know God raised from within them um someone who will teach them what they do not know and who will purify them and you know this Ayah is repeated quite a few times it is
that you know is a favor that Allah has put on the Believers that he has raised from amongst them rasul who teaches them what they do not know yeah and teaches them wisdom and purifies them and then finally you know all these ayats are madani but then you look at you know the sorry all these ayats are makki in in Surah yeah they're Mucky and if you look at the makkan period yeah you know what what we call Dean now
you know our eBay that they were not fried until you know the very end of the meccan period and then Allah uh Retreats it reiterates it again in Surah Juma which is bhakti yeah right okay yeah and it taskia to solve is part and parcel of the Deen and this is the under motherly understanding it's not something that is separate it's like you go uh we were talking
about the mukbar of Imam Malik what we call the sulf now is in the Jamie right okay yeah you know uh you know um there's a beautiful saying I I love it it's you know it shows you uh that you know saying uh uh sees a pig and the other people say that you know why he says I don't want to you know um uh uh make my uh tan Dirty by you know
Finding fault with even a pig and in fact the Imam Malik's transmission is that he when he sees the pig he says you know pass with peace yeah yeah and the thing is that you know he he doesn't uh in the what I'm trying to say is that you know he the Madhuri imams they never separated it from The Deen you know this whole understanding that develops in the East that you know the self is something that is extra that is you know you choose to
right and optional it's an option you know what they would say bolted on you choose for it to be bolted no the motherly understanding is part and parcel it's like look if you look at the Sunnah if you go to uh you know buhari and look at um the eclipse prayer right okay yeah the Allah
shows everything to the rasulullah from beginning to end it's in prayer he is leading the prayer then you know there's a record of when the prophet was leading the prayer he steps forward and then raises his arm and then suddenly drops it and steps back and afterwards the rasool is asked is that an extra action and you know the commentaries on this
because you know the rasulus said I found myself in Jannah and I was about to go for the glimp of great a bunch of grapes now you'll find that you know Scholars are talking about you know the size and if if it came you know if he had grabbed it it would have come to this earth and he would have so on and so forth but what we what I understand from it is it was in the mundane
it's something that you know you're not doing anything extra it is something prayer we pray five times a day but look the hell of the Prophet Allah the state of the rasool he's in Jannah Allah there's a conversation that is happening Allah is showing him from beginning to end then you know you go to uh the nothing you know the two records before Fajr which is in you know
where the Prophet sallallahu Allah is asked by Allah what are the Angels you know debating yeah yeah and says there's a lot of you know anthropomorphism in the wording of it but the understanding of it is that the proximity and and and I yeah I'm sorry I'll forget otherwise no no no the proximity is such that he feels the
coolness yeah yeah and then the rasool says and if you look at you know the commentators especially you know he says everything in the heavens and the Earth what I'm trying to say is look you know it is part and parcel of the Deen there is you know when you take antibiotics there is you know an after effect yes you're going to get well but there's an after effect your journey you know your journeying to Allah you know you are going to see wonders you're
going to see miracles yeah but it's not you are not you know sitting there and doing a million salawat and do it because you want to see the rasulullah why the hell do you want to see the resume take his path walk his walk talk his talk as if you embody the character of the yeah you will see wonders yeah this is you know the way of the people of Medina it's like you know you were talking about yeah I would tell you and you know the
uh um people listening the siraj of course yeah it's in print yeah which was the it's not the sirajuk no no no no no no no no yeah yeah it's it's a five volume work okay okay
yeah okay read you know his um uh uh you know uh his work on the asmala husna yeah I've got that yeah then you know even a virgin staff seer foreign and
you know the whole understanding of the sofa and you know especially the madani this is before Tariq has come on the scene by the way and he led the whole movement called the movement of the muridine the authorities in the end you know uh like you know um
[Music] you know when you speak the truth you don't make friends yeah but there's a different understanding yeah and people are so intrigued by him because he's such a mystical character personality because one of the things he also predicts in his stuff see like an entire generation before the exact date of uh much of the laksa and the whole thing being free from the Crusaders and it's on that date it happens and it's in his stuff see him from like 50 years before yeah even about John you know the editor did a
brilliant job but again you know the thing we were talking about before uh trying to standardize it's like you know um even if it was a Maliki I'd eat red wash he did not so you know the Quran that's oh they're standardizing the Quran no no they've done Huffs [Laughter]
access to the Arabic you can download the PDF is it you can download yeah his commentary on the asmal husna is something that you know should be a study okay I'm really intrigued there's um I think someone's done a PhD uh on him and it's um uh in English um if they if you just Google for even a virgin hopefully uh the word the studies on him will come up yeah but John is someone
who uh is the Sheikh yeah of people like and others but the thing is that you know the to solve and this is the taste of you know how the makariba you know the uh where the school of Medina has become the Heartland they have never let go of this that you know uh something like um you
know the murshid it's always it's never you know something that you know is Iman Islam even you know Sheikh Dan fold you yeah yeah his work is called you know when he wrote a small work a handbook on Islam it's called Iman Islam okay it's uh and when you read um uh the sirajin of Arabi he actually talks about his the self okay his practice Yeah and um it's a
critique of you know his uh Sheikh as well you know foreign but the thing is that you know the understanding uh uh of you know I I personally don't like this word mysticism oh you don't like it okay what does it mean because I you see because I I guess it's nothing tangible is it yeah no it's not it's more experiential no but the thing is that the experience is tangible because
it's happening to you it's you see what was happening to um uh you know um I can't remember his name when he was reading the Quran he would see you know a cloud coming towards him yeah yeah and uh he would stop and the cloud would disappear and when he would start again he would see it again and then he was scared and he went to the rasool and he said the prophet said if you'd carried on that was Sakina yeah
and this is what I was going to uh just add as well when you were saying like people like shaoli Allah and other people so they in trying to give some words to to all of this I guess to help people understand so they proposed that there is a um a kind of intersection will intersecting world if you like between the purely spiritual and this world which they say is uh they I mean he uses the name like animal methyl but in that world that world is is very real although it's not corporeal
we and everything has a representation as a kind of like whether it's symbolic or it could vary and and it is and and part of like for example with dreams they say that that is that world so it's I suppose part of the unconscious mind as well is connected to it and they say that well when Kash all these things happen it is it is a glimpse into that the animal methyl where people can sometimes they can interact dynamically with that world through active imagination or uh creative imagination I suppose hypnography is saying that what they can see these things there is this kind of
kush happening even and they're using these Hadith the same ones like the prophet in Salah like you said is so engaged in in his aibada that he is in that world like he and that is the world of these visuals where they uh see these things and um I've just found it very I mean I found it very just just wow just just um just hearing these kind of explanations to things so even when you're saying that this sahabi is reading and he can see this Cloud what they are are arguing is they're not arguing or explaining is that that is
this that they are having access to and they are seeing and and what he also says is that all representations and and other people as well saying this that all representations of Allah are in that world and therefore they are not objective so when we when we say they're anthropomorphic so when the prophet is asked that what are the the Angels interacting in that realm so when the prophet is asked that what is speaking and he's and the prophet says I don't know Allah knows best and then he says he felt the hand of God like but and or in another Hadith that I saw my Lord
[Music] young man or I like all of these they're saying are real in that world but in that world it can be however because it's and this is where people will all see their lord and however they see them it's not uh it's not for example giving Allah restricting him because it's not the Divine domain it's the domain of like representation which can be symbolic so I I just found this very uh I feel I kind of came to a lot of it late or maybe at the right time I don't
know everything comes at the right time yeah everything comes at the right time um you the tradition I come from or you know um you know the people that we were talking about um and they would
they wouldn't expect you to be in another world right okay yeah it's here yeah you know the uh um there's a Farsi couplet you know other uh generator yes yes as Kashmir arguably the thing is that you know um it's here yeah is that you know um uh when you look at you know there's uh asman of Allah
they are not you know in action and this is you know another uh uh a book that you know people should if they're interested okay he goes through every Surah and shows you where you know the uh the sifa of Phil is active here okay damn this is another book I've missed where have I been yeah this is the second there's a lot more
it's amazing but what you know is coming what's come and what's coming um it's um you know uh the Usman you know the Silverton failure here down they're mirrored not you know because this is uh um realm wedding creation whichever realm you go to is the realm of creation there is no realm which is not crazy no it is all creation yeah yeah I think how these people are explaining it is that they're they're giving obviously dimensions of
Realms and they're saying there is a realm for example of just pure uh or Spirit or but then they are giving these other Realms so there's this this the corporeal the Dunya kind of Realm which is material and uh soul but they're saying there's one so between the material and the spirit purely spiritual or the they call the Divine domain as well and I think they use these words like um you know they'll use like jabarut and those words as well but they they say that there is an intersection which combines both so it's it's neither but
it's separate so it's it's like almost an answer to the Cartesian Mind Body problem in saying that there is a place where they both uh are actually interacting as well and they say that we're kind of connected to all like we're obviously here but that is also happening and what's happening is almost like casting a shadow on this world where it's materializing and so so they kind of they are saying a bit like I'm assuming in a modern analogy a bit like saying that let's say there was a computer game and the computer game in in there the characters assume or believe they are let's say they are conscious
hypothetically now but they are in there assuming that let's say the outside world is just very simply just like the computer game but not only is it that okay is it virtual and for example for it to operate it needs another realm of obviously it needs coding but it needs another realm of servers where servers must exist and where uh internet must exist and the you know coders must exist on another level doing coding and then players and so it's it's not at all like what the people in the game would imagine the outside will like they would think well why are these things indifferent so in a similar
you know I suppose a poor approximation but in that sense that what what they're trying to say is that it is still we are part of all of these it's not a separate I mean it is yeah but we're kind of connected to all of them and I just found it like very Ah that's very intriguing um the connection is there yeah but for the connection I don't think we need to go to another Realm okay unless we take psychedelics here and then wait I'd love to you know seriously sure okay you know what hold that thought and off the Record we're gonna
we're gonna do something I'm gonna arrange it right so wow okay you know because you know this whole thing um look at the technology that we are using now okay we're in Birmingham we're both in our houses we're talking to each other and I don't know which part of the world people are yeah now uh how did this technology come about no
no I'm talking about initially how it began if you go and look at the how this whole thing begins is this you know search for does the spirit exist so where you know hardwired for what I like the word spirituality better yeah than mysticism and of course yeah yeah now we're hardwired
you can actually go to the middle of you know uh Australia sit with um an Aboriginal and have a conversation about what we're talking about and it'd be shocking that you know uh the answers that we will have and it's the same you can go and sit with the red Indians it's the same or anywhere else we're hardwired there is something within us which is called the Roar yeah
it will be someone totally you know uh ignorania who would deny that because how can you deny the Quran you know uh when uh it's something that you know sits on my hard drive it's uh I was fascinated by this you know Hadith um
I love that Hadith I went the question Dr Rose would so the rasul is saying this is the did the sahaba have this or not that was where I began so far did they talk about this or not because it seems such an anomaly like you don't understand exactly yeah exactly but it's an amazing conversation that I came across you know uh when Satan Salman Al Farsi radhalan is made a governor of you know um modern-day Iraq you know where that
um the city begins with the sea I don't know the name of it has a massive Arch um what are the seats of you know the ancient Persian Empire not uh with C yes it begins with a c right okay yeah yeah oh yeah isn't he associate isn't it the the household of Karen or something they call it the I mean they're because yeah but no it's a massive Arch where you know the crown of the uh Jose used to hang uh in the
middle of it but anyway farce has made you know the governor for that and a tabe comes to meet him and someone tells him that someone's waiting without telling who his name is and then you know when he's free he calls him by name and the Tabby goes in and says City how did you know my name and then it goes and says I've known you before you were born
and that you know made me sit up and he links you with that sorry just repeat that that final he says I've known you before you were born it's the prophet saying it to you no Salman Farsi is saying it to someone who came to see him okay yeah how did he know him if it's not an understanding of that yeah because the souls there is an undeniable connection that some Souls have with others like in this world it
is undeniable no you meet someone and you've never ever met ever and it's like you know you've always known them and and it's so harmonious yes it's like it's just so well clicks and gels that yeah it's it's as if there is so you may as we may try to rationalize why like I might just think oh well maybe because you know the guy also likes this I like this or we do this or we do that but that's a rationalization it appears that it's actually subconsciously there's a
there's this emotional bonding straight away like you and it's like the mind is only catching up with it afterwards and trying to understand well why do why do you like that person so much and you think well maybe it's because of this maybe they've just you know they're funny or maybe they've got heartwarming or they but really not that those things are wrong but there's a deeper connect that you don't understand you just feel there's um
you know with children and this is something I've seen and witnessed you know babies certain babies never not related to each other at all when they see each other they hug and they get along like and with other babies they won't [Laughter] baby it's there no it's there and the thing is that you know um you know someone
uh Mark you know someone marks you inside is that man I I physically met him in 87. and um uh he died in two 217. and um okay 2017 he died yeah 2017. yeah and um I I tell you you know he he he would always
I like that I like that yeah and he I it's uh I heard it so much that you know I memorized it and um I I lost someone who I shared this with he he wanted to study with me and then uh he turned around and put a football on me of of gopher because I translated this to him he says how can God have a family
yeah but now I suppose this is with the literal no but the thing is that you know someone helped me but he said but use dependents okay sure sure the word dependent that you know creation our dependence because I was going to say that the the term ayal often I was just about to say this it reflects that kind of dependency of people on and people do use it uh you know like they will say you know populism
so they do use this uh it doesn't have to it doesn't mean like you're actually the family of but yeah but it's you know when we see God because you know as we were saying that you know whatever you do you do it for God then you see if you can't see God then we've got a problem but isn't that the whole journey that it takes people sometimes a lifetime to
realize I know I'm not talking about God I'm talking about in creation when I see you why can't I see God Allah like when the hungry person had you fed him you would have found me there yes yeah and that that that spirituality is hunting glove it's madani because if you yeah this thing you were saying as well it's Allah's however metaphorically people want to understand if the Quran saying it's Allah's rule that is
no but it's no I don't mean it's God yeah you know when you're reading the conversation yeah no when you are reading is him talking to you yeah so he's saying didn't I blow it into you weren't you under my eyes did I not make you by my hands
and it's you know this is you know when I was hungry yeah when I was sick yeah you didn't visit me yeah and this is the part of the journey that you know people forget isn't that the real part of the journey no that is ibadah yeah because the other one is just concentrated like it's restricted to you in a room like you don't yeah it's it's really and it's not like our Salah or Psalm benefits Allah so really it's for us but it's
restricted to us like you know I'm fasting and praying it's the it's that routine you have a goal in your life every day there is a goal after Fajr your next meeting is door and the next meeting because you see your meeting but in between you are meeting his yeah so you have five meetings with him but in in between you meet his it's like I call it you know the book of creation yeah
yeah but yeah you you've got to see his it's like you know the thing I was telling you before that you know even our ashir he summarized uh um and he says you've got to see the brand of God it's like you know people see the tag you know what brand clothes trousers shoe but you should be able to see the brand of God in each other you know everything in creation is his handiwork so we should be able to see
his handbook it's like you know I was telling you before that you know Dr Bashar you know he can recognize uh certain you know of the imam's handwritings yeah yeah he's so you know uh con uh you know connected with that connected with it and if we you know are connected with God why can't we be connected to his The Good the Bad and the Ugly yeah it's his
it's like you know Baba Fareed he says who am I going to find fault with because wherever I look there's you a manifestation yeah because the thing is that you know it's you've got to see his it's like you know um you'll find this book we uh quite rightly we esteem you know everything that is associated with the rasula Islam particularly you know his lineage
why do we steam it because Association is association with the rasool but here this is God's Association yeah this is God it's the miracle of God In Action every day yeah it's like you know when they say how can you prove your father
yeah don't tell me DNA no I'm not gonna say anything yeah me and the evidence yeah for my father and you see he he his handiwork is everywhere around us yeah you know we'll be talking yeah because the thing is that you know it's difficult and sometimes these things uh as I have said before that you know
the after effect of alien is yeah and the after effect of Amen is a hub yeah and you don't differentiate because you know when the Love Is his you don't differentiate who you live you're living them for his sake because people and even like these things as explained Sheikh is that it is all a
manifestation and some people say well a manifestation of Allah's like you were saying the the kind of action the names people saying whether it's going to be even when they see what they perceive to be bad as a test whether it's a test or whether it's something else or but it's ultimately a manifestation if one chooses to see of God an expression of Allah of his you know his whole but that's a it's a whole journey to Horizon it's actually you know if you about this film um our actions our cusp
yeah yeah be spiritual right okay you you Allah is literally you know giving access to himself is that yeah so you know the thing I was saying before that in the mundane is the sublime yeah that is beautiful sure now that makes so much more sense as you say now at this you know to bring it to yeah
yeah no because I think is that you you know that I love Baba Freda I I you know one of my um reasons for learning Urdu I went to in the ninth early 1980s I used to catch a bus to go and learn uh Urdu and night school okay the sole reason my URL is crap this whole reason was so I could read you know the Poetry no the Poetry of you know the Punjabi
sages okay wow is this yeah even you know I I I even read you know Guru nanak's bani and um beautiful he goes Sacha musalman you know um because you know sir there are certain truths that no one can deny the existence of God whatever you're gonna it's it's impossible if you are you know someone who is genuinely seeking him
now he will open doors to you you know this uh in order to speaking of the the the proverb so widely used that you know and they use it in everything which is amazing but it's used in a way that by searching even God can be found so they're using that as the kind of standard to say well why can't you find this you could even if one's searching they can even find God so yeah that's you know just yesterday I was hearing something I mean just to kind of crown I don't know this speaking of our relationship here this
world God it's actually uh you know uh SJ double A D just a little clip of his related to me I'm sure I'm sure you you definitely know him from from Birmingham but it's just a little clip of his um but he was just citing um he was citing IBN Arabia I believe I'll double check it but he says that one yeah I I believe uh and he was saying that just as a thought I'm not saying it is that way but he said that some people and you know people of um of that tradition it said that of the of this walk this path of Consciousness
he'd said that they had said that you see are we one way is that we are here right now but one understanding is what if we are already in the presence of God in hashar recounting our life as in going like we're going through it and I I just I watched it and it was just a brief kind of clip I obviously wouldn't know what it was going to be about when I started watching it but it's just yeah it just um yeah it was very powerful I thought wow okay uh
I mean just yeah just just as a uh yeah my response to that would be uh that's not the God I know because the thing is that you see uh it the journey teaches you but you know there's a relationship that develops yeah no of course and I have I lost my witness you know I've found them better
and even my uh you know wildest thoughts it is you know really really difficult to articulate how you know you can find yourself in the worst situation ever and he brings you out smelling you know better than roses I mean so true and um uh so the one that I know won't you know uh play such a trick on me no not in a trick way I I just meant I mean I understand yeah yeah
it was kind of mesmerizing coming from it's like you know one of the uh you know doctors are Divinity at Birmingham uni this is ages ago it says one understanding is that you know um we are in God out of God as in the mind of God yeah yeah I mean it's it's it's obviously in from one perspective impossible to to work against because you know from a theory because ultimately if everything is brought into existence
it is through the you know the will of God and yeah I mean it's I'm not saying that is how it is I'm just saying it's it's equally a theory that would be impossible to disprove that are we just in the mind of God there's a Sufi teaching story okay um which might you know um explain you know uh the understanding so it's a conversation between two fish
so you know fish are always talking right so I hear [Laughter] so what they're talking about is have you do you know if water exists yeah so the conversation is that you know they're talking about is there water what does water look like how does it taste like can you experience it can you feel it uh then one day you know um one of the fishes sees this shining object
and it goes and gets hooked on it it's a hook and it gets pulled out and just as you know when it separates from the water it realizes I've always I've been in the water all along God surrounds us
yeah we are surrounded by gods you know Grace and everything yeah yeah yeah of course and and the thing is is I as I began I want to end is we just need to thank God you know show gratitude it is something that you know misses me you know you can't be grateful enough for what you know where what God has done and is doing and will do
yeah it's just to thank him and you all of us every one of us we're in Ramadan don't just read the book of creation read his book as well yeah but by that let me you know clarify I am we're all on a journey where I am at this moment in time I do not advise you know reading it in Arabic yeah
yes anybody that you have to yeah otherwise read a portion in whatever language you understand because it's a book for understanding yeah yeah read it understand it and act according to your ability God does not put a burden on you that you cannot bear because he he he's our maker so he knows how much weight
uh we can bear and you know it's always the Journey Begins With a step yeah what does he say you take one step I'll come running to it running to you so you need to take that step and you'll find him I mean and if the intention is sincere then he answers the problem is we don't listen we don't listen
it's like you know when we read the Quran yeah we should be you know um in a different lifetime I studied under a Buddhist my teacher was she was a practicing Buddhist and counseling okay and um in Chinese because you know a lot of the words are symbols that they don't have enough for better symbols so the Chinese
symbol for listening is a heart which is I've never forgotten this so you know there's passive listening and there's active listening yeah so when you are reading the Quran actively listen to him because he at that moment in time is talking to you and you alone
yeah but is that active listening and when you know you do that inshallah you know you'll find him in front of you and that's what the rasool told us you know finally I I know um my time is up um no you've got well you know we were talking about you know the Hadith of jibrin there's a an understanding that you know I have grown old with from you know City
hamza's fathers um he he says that you've got to bring God into your life so how do you do it he says whatever you do it for God whatever in life you do you know doesn't matter whatever it is do it for God we're gonna do it anyway so you've got to do it anyway but do it for God okay and you know there's this um uh A variation
of this narration of um jibril which is transmitted by Abdullah I mean the variant is from Abdullah Bin Abbas you know the well-known wording is um when the prophet was asked by San he says worship God as if God is in front of you yeah if not then he is watching you yeah yeah now the wording which Abdullah Bin transmits is
oh wow okay that's beautiful yeah yeah and this is what you know that's for for people that the first one being that you worship but this I I would feel as an explanation for that narration that you act for Allah in a way like you act but this is a manifestation in the real world amongst people yes we can see God whatever you do do it as if God is in front of you
so you bring God into your lives yeah alhamdulillah you know um uh is it it's become old you you'll see miracles yeah I've seen them so you know if I if I've seen the real believe in miracles and it the miracle is you see the change within you yeah that's the miracle that is wow you know this has been and you make space for God and you know one of the other teachings how uh he advised you know Sydney
hajjala barcel of the land was that you know this is my understanding I'll tell you his exact wording in a minute the definition of justice of Adam is to give you know put everything in its rightful place Faith yeah yeah so the land he would say your time if you're married give you know your family time if you're not married then you know you still need to give family time then you know if you're
working your work time with your mates give them time then you know what is your time and yours alone now give that to God yeah give that time solely to God so what do you do you know rude Quran because this is you know
we have no second opinion that you know the best liquor is the Quran yeah and as I said before read you know in a language you understand don't you know go for you know um flash in the pan because it's ramzan I'm gonna finish the Quran no read what you can piece me a little bit what you understand but you know listening at the same time yeah listening
to what's being said paying attention so it's an active listening if you you know already with a Sheikh and he has given you your word to do your word but actively listen to how you are calling on God and calling on God is you know when you call he he's you know to quote the Bible he's a jealous God yeah he's jealous it's like you know um the people know when you fall in love you don't like anyone else
you don't want to see anyone else you don't want to hear anyone else you just want to be with the one you love and you will always talk about the one that you love so when you fall in love you will fall because you fall for anyone else alhamdulillah you know you will fall
but you know with Allah he'll always catch you Allah no no he yeah he will catch you he will catch you but the thing is that you know that's true love it's true love Never Let You Down ever even when you let yourself down he never lets you down so inshallah unless you've got anything else I really really honestly appreciate value your time your presence you're welcome um you know I was going to say it's
speaking of Journey I mean it's been I think the better part of probably now what almost 28 years or something since I've uh since I've used used to come to your house to learn I think it must have been 96 or something so yeah so wow and and and it's so true that you know life there's just so much learning and developing along the way yes and it continues you know inshallah it continues but never forget that you know the goal this is what you know so the hams are of the line would always quote
yeah yeah our end is with God our end is with God and you know our beginning was with god with God as well yeah that isn't it that's it yeah what you know the understanding of ritual and everything else is how is part and parcel of the journey to him no so when you begin you are you know
journeying to him then inshallah if Allah gives us the company you are with him so that's an amazing you know situation to be that he's your fellow until suffering yeah yeah that's the words of the rasul and suffering so you know he's your sahib he's your companion on the journey that's a beautiful yeah prefers
not you know the Ayah in the Quran yes alhamdulillah you know but this one when traveling when traveling yeah you should read you know when you get tafik and uh commentary on this it's amazing is this in the term it is it or is this in the model it's in the water okay so his yeah okay I will I will check yeah
yeah oh yes yes of course yes I remember but but the thing is that you see he is wherever you are he's there that's it it's just that you know he's there we're not there the and the it's just being there it's like you know the tenses past present now future future doesn't exist present does it's always being present and the
ironies is the one we try to escape so often either living in the past or living yeah we're living in the past I'm trying to prepare for the future but forgetting the present is the present that's needed and may Allah give us the feet you know to all that you know we are in the present and you know this this month Allah give us you know tafik to take you know benefit from it because it's you know a month that will you know testimony against us for the 11 months took
come because you know everything that people are doing in this month is you know evidence against us not for us against us and that's the beauty you know of um uh we thank Allah he still doesn't do anything he lets us be he lets us be
or anything then you know uh I seek forgiveness from him that you know Allah forgive me and everyone else and Allah have mercy on you and give us all you know patience to just be that's so uh shukran once again Shirk and just uh just three very brief things just before we go one uh if people want to reach out to you what is the best way for them to connect with you um what would you they usually do it through Messenger you know Facebook
