All right, now about the Ibn Arabi question I was asked. Uh All right, the Ibn Arabi question. I You know, I have come to appreciate Ibn Arabi much more now in at this stage in life. And after having a dislike for him previously, I am now quite fond of Ibn Arabi.

0:27

That said, I do admit I haven't still read him expansively. I haven't really Just some of the ideas, Wahdat al-Wujud, things like this. Um the kind of oneness of being or being being being sourced in the ground of being. Am I just doing a Boris with clarity here?

0:53

Am I just being like super clear in what I'm saying? So, that being things that be being with a capital B exists with with God in that sense, as in with the ground of being, which as Tillich and some other kind of theologians have said in English, but I think they took that term from uh the Muslim mutakallimun because wajib al-wujud is the ground of being really.

1:29

And that's an Arabic term that the Muslims used. So, I know Tillich used it and things like this, but it wasn't historically used in the English sense. So, I feel that Yeah, I'm I'm more intrigued, especially with, you know, this whole uh consciousness thing. I feel that hmm maybe Ibn Arabi was onto something. And you know this this kind of uh What's a better term?

2:01

This this kind of forgiving outlook of um for the whole of humanity. A kind of It doesn't like even though Islam is the hack, but even people who are not upon Islam is there hope for them and is there And Ibn Arabi was obviously one of the key proponents of this theory of this whole philosophy uh that there was an immense um you know that that salvation doesn't have to be exclusive to Muslims.

2:39

And obviously basing that on certain verses of the Quran, I find that intriguing. I find it very interesting and definitely something a message that I think uh resonates with a lot of people today. So, I find Ibn Arabi in more recent days much more interesting. Um you know, I definitely like him.
