this is uh reasonably just going to be a quick one so i received an email i received um i thought well hmm you know it's it's been quite a i don't know like a tiresome day it's a bit of a heat wave here in the uk and i'm really was just about to set off to do my gym session vampire gym session at this time night i was like yeah

1:32

but uh you know and as much passion as i have for the gym right there's uh some things that surpass that passion with me and amongst them it is the maliki madhhab people allahu akbar the school of medina so i get this email and just to do just just to make sure the sound is uh right the sound is coming through fine i take it okay so we're not gonna take too long

2:12

hopefully but i get this email titled help caps lock doesn't go back to imam malik right so this is the madawana will just i'll just discuss that in a moment salam mufti so i've received this email we are some folks from bangladesh trying to study and observe the maliki fair since 2014.

2:45

all right you do in it you're doing it big up to the school of medina being set off and kicked off and established in bangladesh they also recently have created a facebook group which may be a private group i think they're saying but it's called the maliki method bangladesh and i think they abbreviate it as maliki mbd alhamdulillah everything's going well and most of our people have welcomed the long-awaited fourth madhhab in making the pillar

3:22

um what is it uh uh sorry in our country but recently some wahhabis are questioning and creating doubts in the school of medina and they are questioning the mudawana and stating that it does not go back to imam malik and thus trying to create doubt within the method they have presented three points one is that the chain from sahnun to malik is unknown [Laughter]

4:03

[Laughter] it didn't take much of a genius to figure out that noon is saying uh ibn qasim told him who's saying imam malik told him so one point number one is this saying that it's they don't know who's in the chain point number two um al-khalili's comment on sahnun that the muhaddithin are not satisfied uh on his memory

4:43

and this is in the al-irshad and it's also transmitted by the habi later on that khalilia said that man ignored that uh a much tahith and a student of sahnun has said that the mudawuna is the book he hasn't written it here he's just written in the email is the book eaten by insects which is then written in other books like

5:13

okay yes and zubairalizai from pakistan is one of the critics [Music] so they are asking that we would like to be able to counter this allegation please you know asking for my support and advice and help to spread the school of medina in they are saying in their country bangladesh

5:52

kind regards here you know for since they are attacking the school of medina then this one is personal you know personal this one so first of all i would state that okay let's just take a brief look i won't be taking too much time but hopefully i will be able to tackle these issues quite easily this uh is more of a difficulty was the heat wave that we had today in the uk followed by the lightning

6:32

this um so first of all the question um that is in uh that is at hand is about the mudona sometimes referred to as the madob natal kubra this is the book uh where ibrahim transmits the the the statements of imam malik it is the amongst the it is amongst the bedrock of the madhhab the um the mother texts of the madhhab i mean they may be six or seven or what whatever amongst them is this is usually given position number

7:12

one and it is the understanding and interpretation of ibn passing but the book is actually the book of sachin it's not ibn qasim's actual book it is book right so that's just a brief history so the question why first of all just to give you a backdrop why do some people some maliki's sorry some selfies have a problem with the mudona well amongst other things the modovana transmits the position of imam malik on things like when he's asked about placing the hands in salah

7:51

says that you know this is something i don't know of rather he speaks of the saddle so the maliki method does the subtle now why is this a big deal well this is a big deal particularly for the hadith wahhabis of the especially the indian subcontinent who have been going back and forth at the hanafi's on where to place the hands in salah and for them this is like one of the key uh you know this is such a big deal for them

8:29

where to place the hands in salah now some of the retaliation that they faced from the hanafi's now there's there are no really speaking there were no malikis in in the indian subcontinent aha up until now on history you are witnessing history in the making people the school of medina as it spreads i'm telling you history will bear testimony that the school of medina and the 21st

9:08

century how it saw its the the the kind of the search uh and the renewal of this tradition finding its way back to the city of the prophet but here in in the indian subcontinent when the hadith were kind of rattling on about where the hanafis have got it wrong placing the hands underneath the navel

9:40

as they do it should be up here then you know with the extra rigor that the salafi and the hadith do so part of the reaction that they had was the hanafi would critique many of the uh rewire to do with where to place the hands now one of the texts that they found or some of the people that they found who had already done this were the malekies now why may the malakis have done this so from amongst them um

10:25

his father now he had already written on this topic called ibrahman but what he does is he compiles all the hadith on where to place your hands in salah and shows that all of these hadith do you know are problematic in one way or the other and other malikia have done this as well and why they've done this because the male keys didn't really one of the positions of the multimeter is no god at all you do not hold your hands in salah you let them hang so great legends and dawns of this

11:04

ummah people like ibn abdullah the great hafiz of the entire western muslim world in his time writes in his cafe that both of them are sunnah and this is a dawn of hadith in fact he is as done as you get in his age in his ho in his lifetime there were only two heavyweights of hadith in the entire super heavyweights who held the championship of the entire muslim world one was in the west and one was in the east the one in the east was al-khatib al-baghdadi and the one in the west

11:44

was al-hafiz and these and they both passed away in the same year by the way 464 hijri so he writes that look at sunnah and but because so so there's all this plethora of information done by the malikis in the past so now when some of the hanafis lean back on the maliki method to one find these evidences and show that actually there isn't a single saria hadith that is selling from any criticism safe from any absolute criticism that supports

12:22

holding the hands in prayer there isn't actually fyi so they also provide whilst doing that hey did you know that imam malik in his mudawana and imam malik being amir states that when it comes to uh when it comes to holding the hands when he's asked and then he says i don't what are you even talking about imam malik doing it so this is obviously a huge thorn in the behinds of the uh

13:02

the hadith sahiban of the indian subcontinent because here you've got a great imam of hadith saying so what do they resort to they resort to their usual hadith tactics of trying to let's how do you get out of the hadith situation you find some criticism on a chain so here this is from the book of sachnun so they're saying ah well aha

13:42

[Music] first of all let me break break break just before we come to this one quick point that the saddle which the salafi or the hadith have a big problem with wasn't just imam malik's method it was the motherboard of latitude in egypt it was the method

14:20

of it was transmitted by ozari in sham it was the methyp of hassan al-basri it was the midhab of uh yugoslavian it was the mathematic of subaid it was the mathhab of zubair it was the medhab of ibrahim it is one of the rewards transmitted in the uh sorry just closing this it was one of the rewards arguably transmitted also by ahmed i believe this is not something just that imam ali

15:04

[Laughter] so this is just just to clarify that coming back to this first now the saknon right so noon they can't say anything about ibn qasim who transmits from malik why because the great mahatma [Music]

15:42

you know there's a problem with him so obviously big problem so they're obviously assuming that in this situation we've got [Music] so they're assuming that that's the problem we're stuck here but now my dear friend we're not stuck okay because first of all let me ask you okay uh you've got

16:14

uh whose name was who passes away in 4-6-4 hijri 4-6-4 people keep that in mind hip-hop where is he from he's known as al-qazwini from okay which is in modern-day iran that's where he was from 4-6-4 did he ever meet sarnon i ask you where is kazween now those of you that sorry just checking this

16:54

quick um right those of you that are unfamiliar you've got sahnun was from north africa he was from what was traditionally called ifr now that uh modern day you would call tunis um it's modern-day tunis okay but they used to call it in the past he was deemed one of the greatest legends of the north african scholarship okay he was referred to by olama they say that that fi

17:38

were transmitted that in his time for example and in his time this is what is transmitted by some scholars and we'll come to that he was so rated by uh in his time that even the the the rulers of the time pressed him to become the judge and eventually he became the judge of that era he is known as the hafiz of the maliki madhhab of north africa in his time amongst the father of the method gabi yada writes that he was such a legend that the muslims of spain

18:16

were so influenced by him that so many of them rushed to bring back his rulings okay countless of his students in his own lifetime amongst them you've got people like his own son muhammad ibn you've got muhammad ibn abduls you've got people uh like ibn al-abad you've got yahyaba umar you've got hamdisal

18:55

uh the great yeah omar all of these great and many many other scholars who are his students but these are the people where he lives who is the judge as well of where he lives for a significant period he transmits the this book and deemed one of the greatest scholars uh within islam are the yad writes that he was somebody that sallam allahu and this is other people write right

19:27

the people of his lifetime considered him to be an imam whether they agree with him or not but they consider this guy to be a dawn of islam and especially the maliki method in his time this is who's so he passes away around 240 history okay around that kind of time going back to 200 years later passing away is sween this is in tunis as in iran okay has he ever met sarnon no has he ever met anybody who's

20:07

met sahnun never a cha-cha-cha [Laughter] right okay now let's come back to somebody who has met sorry somebody who lives in that iran has met people who have met this is a book of his that is in print but he was somebody who authored on people he lived in iria

20:45

he lived in that tunis region amongst his teachers student of sarnon arguably people have said ibn abduls some people have challenged it you've got hamdi salkattan student [Music]

21:27

okay so here you've got and and many others he was in that same era same vicinity where sahnun used to live what does he say about he says that he was an absolute legend of a scholar he mentions that he was somebody who imam they gave him the imam he mentions

21:56

reliable when does abul arab pass away 333 triple three injury people over a hundred years before khalili is going to pass away has he okay he's after sahnun but has he met people who've lived with sahnun yes has he met people who have known satnun very well yes what does he say as a hafiz

22:31

[Laughter] this one this one irrelevant speech you know irrelevant so here you've got legends like that so first of all was those done of sahnun of course it was by people who knew at least people who knew him yes of course it was so problem answered right there that's one of the key problems second thing i'd like to say is this is not how fair is transmitted first is not transmitted

23:10

like by the way hadith chains are transmitted okay is part of the living tradition you live fir you practice it so sahnun is he's met people like ibrahim he's met ash herb he's met other students he's met uh other students of uh of imam malik muhammad muhammad he has met these other people whether he met assad sorry he probably didn't meet assad but he met ibn qasim who is writing the madoba from he he met these people uh even as they yad and these kind of people who were the

23:49

students of imam malik okay now okay is something applied you practice phil how do i pray how do i pray with my hands after this is not like i'm transmitting some data you live like this this is how you practice islam now it is true that different students of imam malik had different interpretations of what malik would have taught and i've answered why that was that was because there is a difference between sometimes when malik is passing the school of medina and between sometimes when he's passing his own opinion

24:29

so some of the opinions are more in line with the school that he's transmitting and sometimes there are his personal opinions sometimes his personal opinions will change over time so different people may get different views and sometimes it's a nuance with certain students so with some students you might have more of a relaxed approach and you might say something yeah you know with a back and forth i see where you're coming from this and that they may transmit that so just to be just to give some um a bit of a backdrop why the students disagree with their interpretations because they're human beings and they will have different interpretations

25:08

so that is who sahnun is that is how ferc is transmitted it's not transmitted through is not to start off with so you can't come at firk through this kind of oh let's critique the chain secondly abul arab tamimi has already done tautil so if you want to come from that angle that door has long been shut okay this is not to do with hadith they are transmitting and there were other books of that are transmitted so in his time muhammad ibn abduls he transmits he has another one of the mother text is muhammad ibn abdul book by the way known as the majmua

25:46

ibn abdul haqam has his own writings they are of the shab there is the word they have ibn habib there is these are the mother texts of the maliki method right there was the uttabiya that was documented there was the zahi by laithy and there was the mob suit by god ismail these are the mother texts of the meth so okay so that answers that uh point right there uh this is nonsense where's the email gone right here it is the other point that uh they've raised of abu uthman um that they've raised

26:25

um where he critique he criticizes the madawana and this is true uh i do personally i am a fan of uh i do like his uh critical thinking he is a maliki who was actually a key student and companion of sahnun now he does criticize the mudowana note that he does not criticize sahnun necessarily but critiques the madawana he didn't like it okay now you may ask me why does he call it the mud first of all some malikis have said this was made up it was not actually a

27:05

legitimate uh thing some people have said that people kind of made this up against him i can actually buy it i can buy that he did used to call it the madogada the thing that was eaten up by insects why let's look into the the personality of abu uthman is a i mean he's a great scholar um you've got he's somebody who was always very influenced by reason he was against blind following he often condemned taklid and he was a

27:43

great free thinker within the method okay and he has many interesting opinions which i do follow by the way i'm in line with that way of thinking like alcohol is not necessary and he has other views as well so the thing about ibn haddad is one he did not like this blind following so this was something about ibrahim ibn qasim was one of those students of malik that was an absolute blind follower whereas people like ashhab were much more open-minded in how they

28:22

saw what malik was trying you see was malik teaching a particular spirit of something was he the the school of medina that spirit or were if he said a particular word was must we stick by it so there's discussions between ashhab and ibrahim and by the way who is ibn haddad a great fan of asha he's a great fan of rashad so there's a debate by ibrahimovic where ash ibrahim says to hashem you know he's going back and forth and he says ah but he said uh but malik said this and hashem says you know

29:00

you know we're not his slaves imam malik would have wanted us to be open-minded and to do our own thinking he didn't want clones so and that's the distinction and this is why some people criticized uh ibrahim like um ibn hassam who i do love ibn hazm in his own right much later a contemporary a very close friend of ibn abdullah by the way described as his best friend but he really hated the maliki as well why because of politics because all the most the muslims in spain were maliki so they were kind of shoving it down his throat so he he

29:37

he so he reacts so what does he describe in you know the donkey of malik that wherever malik goes he follows him around like a donkey that this guy doesn't you know couldn't think for himself he wastes his his own intelligence so now you're starting to see there's great possibilities why okay uh ibn haddad did not like he was not down with this blind following and often a great critic of it the other thing as well is ibn haddad was very outspoken in his time which got him into trouble

30:16

with a lot of the clergy and some of the judges okay now this is an important point why because it's possible that they may have in his uh in sahnun's later life that he had a maybe some bad blood between him it's possible even though when i gave you the quote earlier on that there is uh that is described as the imam of sunnafi waktihi that he was one of the great people who had was established

30:58

these words were by who they were by ibn al-haddad these are his words describing and note how he says sunnah not hadith the malikia draw distinction between sunnah and hadith hadith is the documented hadith sunnah is the live tradition so he says right now but there is a possibility and this there's some speculation here that there may have been a bit of a fallout towards the latter part of saturn's life

31:36

it's possible because became the judge and the judges often had to deal with outspoken people and one of the most outspoken people were ibn haddad especially on theology and sometimes some of these views you know when it comes to activa and these kind of things he was deemed like somebody who always relied on reason and sahnun is somebody who was quite a dogmatist in fact he was very harsh against anybody he deemed a heretic and he was you know he would go to extremes like in favor of capital punishment and all kinds of things

32:16

which i would passionately disagree with but that was sahnun's mentality and he was described by some contemporary legendary malik like asbar as being bedouin-minded in his dogma like he was he used to say arabi yun you know this guy was he because he was an arab but he and he was a pure arab but he they say he was a arabi almost a bedouin just like burdened with dogma now so it's likely when you get these two personalities one who's always relying on reason he's into theological debates and then on the other side

32:56

you've got somebody who's now a great imam that he's saying as well he's a great imam in sunnah in the living tradition he was a judge of that era authority and the there's a great likelihood they may clash now why do i say this is because in the later parts in the later life of ibrahim he was resorted to as the savior for the sunnis in north africa but sahnun had passed away then so in this time of ibn haddad you will see that the um

33:33

the shia had taken over the fatamine had established the caliphate uh so the people like abu abdullah and i've spoken about this in my monday nights with mufti who sets up uh the the caliphate the fatimid caliphate and i believe even though it's established around 296 is it but in 299 hijri it's really set up in in tunis it's established the mahdiyah is set up the city and obey the lord mahdi is the you know the mahdi of god uh on earth right so he is uh from the fatimi in the shaya

34:11

and he has even though later on he kills him himself tragic politics [Laughter] [Laughter]

34:47

abdullah he really helps um obey the lord mahdi get established he is the the preacher the one who lays everything and his brother as well helps as well and then who is it that in the end you know maybe you know there was this in the end when love turns to betrayal this tragic tale tale of uh love and betrayal obey the law has him killed

35:23

but uh in this time coming back to ibrahim's time these people are now preaching the fatimid creed the shia creed and they and they weren't you know dumb people they were absolutely ready to debate and they would debate the sunni scholars but the malikis of north africa weren't used to theological debates because they were people like sahnun had dominated who were dogmatists and so this was the time that they all of a sudden find themselves in desperate need of ibn haddad and who is it that debates

36:01

the shia and actually stands establishes the sunni viewpoint it is none other than abu utman and and he even debates obey the law mahdi himself and he debates his brother so he even debates the main three figureheads of the fatim fatima dynasty but so you've got coming back to here sorry i mean obey the law is the main figurehead but there are his kind of accomplishes accomplices so you've got here this and there's a very many debates of haddad that are still available online where he's

36:41

debating the shia and there's a a a a fine example where on one case he's he's asked that yep debate him but he doesn't reply why why does he not reply that and he doesn't stand up because the guy asking him even abdul was a judge who had put ibrahim trouble previously had punished him and had actually imprisoned him uh from what i read habessa who yeah he had imprisoned him so he didn't like him and so he refuses he doesn't want it you know it's like he's like

37:20

i ain't helping you you know it's now you come to me and then even even abdul says to him look please he says now isn't the time to hold our petty differences against us you know they have attacked the sunnah the sunni creed please defend it and then he gets up and he defends uh against the shia the father mean the attack and he actually defeats the other person because he was a legend in incredibly sharp and this is why i've taken a liking to him but did he so there is a likelihood that maybe

37:58

the way even abdul he had some bad blood he may have had some bad blood with satnun but he always praised sahnun yes the mudowana he didn't like it but there were other traditions in in africa you had in north africa you had the majmua um of uh which i've quoted of ibn abduls which is also the one of the mother texts which is transmitting a different flavor of imam ali you had the sama of ashab you had the muhtar of ibn had taken you've got the how even though it's more popular in

38:37

spain of ibn habib you've got in iraq the zaheer of alaihi you've got other versions of the transmission of ibn and sorry i'm saying ibn of ibam malik so and guess who by the way just in case how do we know who somebody could say oh but maybe ibrahid had critiqued uh sahnun's personality and his actual criticized his actual memory maybe not that we have that how would we know who is a student of

39:17

ibn haddad who could it be is a student of ibm and who defines sikka abu arab so here you who would know him better abu laruba tamimi and he declares so by that we have answered all of these questions that first of all you can't attack the chain of fair because ferc is a live

39:56

tradition it is transmitted in these other books it's it's practiced by people people practice subtle they did this it wasn't a data that was kept in a record it was the living tradition of islam secondly you can't criticize sahnun just because of his chain he was an imam for sunnah thirdly before kazuini's father was born before khalili's dad was born you had legends like abu arab tamimi who knew people who actually knew sahnun

40:34

who knew and was a student of ibn haddad right so and fourthly you've got yes did cr criticize the mudawana because the madawana is a very kind of a dogmatic perspective on the maliki method even i have a problem with the teachings or not the teachings the methodology sometimes of ibn qasim this blind following because i feel imam malik was teaching his students to be enlightened imam malik said that elm is noor it is not kathrath

41:12

collecting data is not knowledge it is this tradition of medina that we stand upon so that yes so mentioning just to put that up and fifth just summing this this whole thing that even if there was a bad blood between satnun uh and they definitely i mean between uh ibrahid and the madawana he didn't like the madonna it does not mean that the 50 positions of imam malik were not established they were imam malik's positions had reached under muslim spain in his lifetime okay so to criticize the madovana by saying

41:52

well that's just as dumb as it gets okay so it's you've got nothing to worry about uh any maliki that has struggled with this question here it is for you check it out um you can rest assured the mudawu natural kobra was something these books were practiced live traditions people kind of practice them they're not just like books of hadith that are only there for academic purposes now that we've said that i would like to a message to like the followers of uh zubaida lisa

42:37

you know the thing is look forget this put this aside we have already shown that ferc is a living tradition it has been transmitted from generation to generation and people have written fit books on this who was a student of abu arab who was a student of abu lado by the way ibn abi said who compiles a mother text a a meta mother text of the method compiling all the opinions of imam malik nabi said in his new

43:13

zeal you see this chain that we have put this to one side of has only been transmitted through muhammad ibn yusuf al-farabri who nobody did so think of nobody that knew him and nobody that knew anybody that

43:51

knew him did it has not been tr uh this person who the entirety of sahih bukhari rests on is not be has not been and that is hadith now it is not firk it is not the living tradition it is academic it is a database so that the narrators of the transmitters of hadith must be deemed trustworthy they must have a scholar of hadith must say he is reliable farabri is in the age of bukhari he's in the age of tarmidhi he's in the age of abu dhawud of nasa he's in the age of uh

44:31

people like nasa's and all these great you know uh even sorry in the age of these great mahadithin imam muslim and all of these great dawns of hadith why has nobody declared him a thicker nobody has declared february to be reliable even samani's transmission that they come is dubious these aren't dubious you know because when his son uh samani in his book alan

45:11

writes about he doesn't transmit anybody saying is a thicker and wouldn't he say that my dad has done those of him but even if you accept it let's say we be generous over a hundred years after i never met anybody who's met him in a different part of the world what how is that thicker how can you deem somebody reliable like that so that makes no sense and this is what the whole day base they make the quran revolve around bukhari and yet they can't even establish

45:49

bukhari and then farabri his own students say that oh what does haqq al-mustamili say that our fraberi's book was a was a masawa it was incomplete it was incomplete so we reorganized it moved hadith around put chapter headings uh we kind of worked our hands at it and all of his main students and this is accepted by the way by baji he accepts this uh ibn hajjar accepts that they did this and you know ibn abdul hadi has a book

46:28

about ferrabri's uh transmission of bukhari and his students who are transmitting from him and this book is in print you can find it online it's called like [Music] the title he shows several variations not just hundreds of hadith missing entire chains are different not this little um difference entire chains are different

46:59

if they're all copying from one book i've got a book here and i say guys you guys can spend a few years and copy this book from me and so this is the other problem so this and then you've got this transmission coming down the manuscripts the great uni project you need time in 700 hijri once again polishing up buhari using ibn malik and ngahui to fix up the grammatical errors

47:38

you know so that you're having to have a grammarian fix it in 700 hijri and then even you know it's like so we've got a copy of that copy a cha-cha-cha by nueri used to sell it for money and a handsome amount he would sell it for so this is al bukhari and even if you answer anything bring me the tawteka and you know something he one of the people transmitting it

48:16

from him even a second in a second so and you know some people the dumbest responses to this i've heard two absolute mega dumb [Laughter]

48:57

you know it's like who was that pakistani politician where he said [Laughter] you know this is where do you get this kind of principle from so that would mean every single person who imam ahmed transmits from in his uh muslim automatically becomes [Laughter] every single person ibn maja transmits from automatically becomes a power ah

49:33

you know this is as dumb as it gets here these people this is hadith 101 all these people have a chapter in hadith books is and they say hell no no they say hell no because people transmit from teachers who are weak he says that that's not absolutely not and the masala they're mixing up makes up oh yeah

50:09

sorry yeah mix up that what they mixed up is that the actual issue is that you see arawi can be completely unknown so i say this rawi's name is abdullah who is abdullah i don't know that raw is called machul you ha but if what uh daddy will say and other people there's a difference of opinion on how many narrators but they will usually say for at least two people who are well known is transmit from an unknown person then what we're going to say is he's now

50:46

moved from major to mastur so what we have is okay he must have been a known person like somebody must have known him he's well known he's an or not well-known but he's a known individual but he's mastur we still don't know what his qualities are like but we know that people didn't know him we know who he is so there's a distinction so they call it

51:15

so that it doesn't mean it's a thicker so for example imam malik is transmitting from abdul karim wait a minute that means they may now not be an unknown so first you've just got an x if i give you a name you don't know anything about him but now i tell you oh this is a colleague of such and such so you say all right okay i'm so the person is not an absolute unknown entity but still is he qualified for the job we don't know we need somebody to vouch for his qualifications so this is what the the actual masala okay so one day mix up the masala two they come

51:55

up with some absolute dumb you know this is [Laughter] that's what it is people it's it's in reverse but that's what it is so this this is as dumb as it gets the other thing i've heard the super dumb you know this is where the this is why i wish people with more talent came in these fields of islamic sciences i heard somebody say well if he wasn't he's not been included

52:34

in the book by ibn adi in his so ibn adi a scholar of hadith has a book on saying this is a list here are some weak transmitters so people go oh but his name isn't in there probably aha so it automatically means he's a vouched for a cha-cha so it's like you know what the hell is this where are you making these up as you just run along so it's not in his book there's several people who are not in uh ibn adi's book ibn adi was not a this is now i've there are no narrators in the world

53:13

except i've mentioned them in this book and in my bukhari gate i go through that and i mention people that are ibn adi has left out and some people you know so i mentioned this in my bugatti gate video which you can watch so the reason i mentioned this is because if you want to play this game first of all [Laughter] i tell you [Music]

53:46

so this it's very difficult you can't you know it's not going to happen because you can't do those of robbery and you know they say nasa wrote tooth robbery arguably this is the story he wrote of robbery saying can you send me the bukhari the ijaza to transmit from bukhari so he did that and yet he didn't bother deeming him trustworthy because he didn't vouch for him anyway he doesn't say by the way he's a trustworthy person neither does ibn sakhin who actually transmits bukhari from him but yet he doesn't vouch for him note there's a difference

54:24

transmitting a hadith and declaring some so somebody could say well why would you transmit something from someone if you're not going to vouch for them say well these people who are father of hadith this was their profession like this was their forte this was their field they would amass hadith collections but on many occasions they they may transmit them it was like commodity to them you see like so if they got hold of oh here's a unique it's like if you're a collector they were collectors of hadith and there's a collector's item whether you know and somebody says hey look i can get hold of this it may

55:03

be dubious it may not but as a collector you'll collect it anyway you'll be like well you know i can't really go wrong with it it's definitely still worth my while since i'm collecting all these other hadith and i'm collecting other people's books this is another book i'll collect it from foreign but will i in kind repay him by saying he's a thicker [Music] yes [Laughter] so this is uh something to bear in mind our uh hadith wahabi

55:40

brethren so you know zubaidal is ashab or mirza engineer [Laughter] [Music]

56:07

56:46
