whilst you guys are tuning in love all the way from india that's the you know that's what is uh in one some people say saree jahan but in some say hindustan uh they used to saree jahaan
but in another version hindustan hamari so i can see here whilst you guys are tuning in clicking like and share allah yes people crypto is back it's from back from the dead and i must say i is liking it is liking it
it's um yeah it's back and i'm thinking why not about time you know it's something that is here for the i personally can't see it going anywhere but i guess each to their own or in the words of the poet that people
have their own path for their own love but anyway people have um their own things so maybe i'm not saying crypto is for everyone but it's back from the dead i don't know what will come of it me personally right now you see i see
some of the more you know the the the upper echelon of queens as just kind of hold on to them and maybe some of these new kind of ones or these i don't know if you're feeling it a little table dabble here but it's not something um markets kind of rising again yeah i don't know what i was mentioning to someone that you see even shib i i seem to have a feeling about this ship allahu i mean you can just pick up a
million ship coins for i think it's what is it something like about maybe about 40 quid or something but um i don't know it seems to be quite they seem to be merging or doing something with doge and i don't know allahu alam but it seems uh interesting times as always people right um what is going on those of you
what's uh right clear along you're doing abnormal love from canada all the way from canada right um only uh what how do we have a one-to-one session with you
i'm right here you know you just have to the souls have to connect that's all the souls connection yes now there's uh what you can do i will in a in a while i will share later on a link and you can jump on as you take live guests but if you want to one to one what i call perspective sessions you can head over to patreon and that's tier two uh i believe you can just subscribe and and then it will once you've become a
member with that it gives you you'll have the instructions on how to arrange you can just book yourself in go right there i'll give you my you'll see the instructions it'll give you my schedule tell you what's available and feel free all right okay so there you go but that's a good good question right there let me see i should i should kind of no this doesn't um take up i'll do it in a while i'll show you the patreon it's just malm
right so what is going on what i want to take a look at today there you go that's the dot com forward slash malm mal man it's it's no i think a perspective session is around i think it's just under 100 pound it's to be fair it depends
it depends on what people want it for what they need it for there is general access i give let people come on here come on live speak to them i'm very responsive usually on social media in addition to that i'm available [Laughter] but you you have to understand that i have to prioritize my own time and how it's distributed amongst things i do it has to otherwise it's just too much and
it's not you know the perspective sessions as well they what they also do obviously if somebody people that do need them they it does cost them they pay for it but what it also does is it filters out time wasters because there will be many people that would just maybe they just want to argue maybe they just want to debate maybe they just maybe they just think it's it's nothing maybe they just think you know what i'll just sitting around i'll just have a chat and i feel for these people i feel for all people because you know may allah
is their struggle because the truth is in this day and age it's very hard to get a listening ear and when you get hold of one it's like you know it's so this is this is the and i feel because it just shows the struggles out there there is an immense amount people are struggling you know sometimes when people call me or i speak to people and i can feel that they just need someone to talk to and and obviously being a trained ear makes
it even makes it better for them but it it it becomes more inviting for that because you're trained to kind of to kind of handle situations and say them in the right guide people in the right way and yeah so but it becomes obviously too much for me i have to so that's a way that kind of works so insha'allah also i do i always say that these are things that masjids should have they should have these kind of facilities proper counseling facilities have somebody you
know perspective kind of their own perspective sessions they should have that right so today what i wanted to take a look at i'm just going to bring it up here as well um all right where is it here it is what date is it i have the file saved under right there it is okay so um this is what we look at today resilience
quranic guidance on resilience oh right it hasn't saved the ah look at that so it's not the other things the avarice uh we've covered that before in the abba sids but let me just check this why did not save the title all right that's fine it's just the title that didn't get saved the rest is fine so what we'll be taking a look at is resilience and today's session i've called it keys to the world and you'll understand why as we go through because we're going to take a look at this
we're going to take a look at how the quran addresses struggles and the guidance it gives and then we'll take a snippet from the seerah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam to really shine that light for us and and then it's to you guys i'll bring some guests on we can speak and take a look at what you guys are saying so before we begin
i see we got mods lurking of course we have of course um allah bless you it's a pleasure to see you on this at this hour the hard working ought to be resting but uh
right um if most this up how so guys you know the drill click like click share what i'm going to do is i'll bring up here as well whilst we just going in right those of you that haven't caught up on this week's mind trap which i just did with dr imran al-badawi do check it out i totally loved it it was a discussion on pre-arabia on topics like patriarchy patrilineal formations
we discussed language the development of the arabic language the historicity of some of the celebrity pre-islamic figures and we also discussed female pre-islamic figures like mawia and also prior to her zanubia and how some of these especially maui how she went on to she's a few centuries before islam but how she went on to dick not dictate but shape in some way the arab identity in trying to break away with a an arabic
church of her own and but it was the discussion overall i loved it speaking about the tribes speaking about um you know what are they all saying what is the authenticity of this verses and who are this uh this kind of mystery tribe of god that's an amazing one because they are the the kind of determining factor who are the majority is it is it adnan and as the arabs say ma
wherever goes because at times makes the claim that they are agnani and at times they make the claim that they are uh the southern arabs and and it's interesting and some scholars even abdulbar highlights how as well amongst other people maybe they one position is they are just a separate tribe not from the others and an attempt to reconcile that maybe um is in essence um [Music] they say was
from the southern arabs the hemiarch as um it's actually attributed to a companion of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam that um i believe where he uh says to the prophet he responds as though he's from you see because adnan and then from adnan you have mahad and this is what dr imran
was also arguing that maybe some of the original tribes were just versus and then other people have kind of shaped things along the way and back projected but in this hadith where the prophet is asking who is from and obviously from mad or so really the main arabs that use that we hear of uh will be from that are from this abrahamic line or that claim to be let's say the lineage to be from ibrahim alaihissalam it comes down through adnan and then
and then from him nazar and then you're going to get um it's going to go on but the two main ones as i've discussed previously are then mother and rabiah so that's all this branch but then on the other side you have tartan which really comes down to two main kind of branches saba and hagaramat but coming down you will find this hemiar the kind of hemorrhoid kingdoms and stuff so the companion in that hadith which is not a sahih it's in pablani but um allegedly the prophet tells him you're not from because um
[Music] so he then later on argues this allegedly and he has a poem where he says he says but this is uh the tribes i i do find it very
interesting this is why i really loved having dr imran on the show and i thought so if you haven't watched that check it out it's definitely also we take a look at the discussion of tahoe saying that all the the poets of the past is the arabic kind of forged back projected that's a fascinating discussion as well so yeah so mad you know what uh since since we've mentioned we mentioned to you guys a an incident a historical a bit of history
so right it is said in pre-islamic times um there was um so there was this person if attack right so let me give you guys a bit of a um a bit of detail for the pre-islamic landscape in the arabian landscape um figuratively so you had tribes which is understandable but then you also had these people known as
and you had fattaq these fattakin so if attack i'll explain what they are both of these now a fat tac is somebody who kind of seizes and he's um a person of resolution you know of like resolute determination okay however really what it was used for that's maybe what linguistically what it's actually used for is um these ruthless
kind of i i'm trying to think of a term to describe them that we could relate to they were kind of like sociopaths i don't really know how to refer to them but there were these people that would just go out looking to kill people and kill them as in kill them and rob their stuff and but this was like a trophy for them it was it was and they had a reputation for this and they were called you know like from the fatah kill arab and they were there obviously they would have a reputation people would be like
damn it's so-and-so and and they would just be ridiculous stuff like they would just um you know you get these fame some of them later on converted to islam like very famous person and he embraces obviously very old by that age but he converts and he lives right through till after islam as well i mean as in after the prophet and in the caliphate of umar ibrahim and he has these discussions with omar about i don't want to ask him tell me in your heydays who was this and who was that and asks all his stories and so these they would do ridiculous things like
they would just if they found let's say a person is drinking water out well they'll just come up to him and go right grab your sword and the person would be like what and he'd be like if and this is it they would just be like in fact a famous incident of him is he would say
when he narrates to earth to omar umar asks him tell me an incident where you thought somebody was incredibly intelligent and he says yeah he says there was this incident where i approached this man he was you know i could see a horse and he had a sword hanging on his horse but he'd kind of got off and i think he may be drinking some water or doing something and i approached him and i said hey i said inni look i'm about to kill you
these people honestly sociopath well i i can't quite phrase i don't know a word how to describe it for today what what could we put it as like what it's not like gangsters it's not because it's not over a um a kind of it's just they're on this thing of just they want to approach someone and just kill them and just take their stuff and just but they want a reputation for this they want to be this kind of like a a serial killer but they're not i don't know maybe they were mental mentally kind of affected um
but yeah so he says to um he says yes psychopaths but the interesting thing is these people were also quite i suppose psychopaths are intelligent as well yeah maybe they were these kind of psychopaths but some of them had a kind of glory in this psycho you know psychopathy then but because today you wouldn't really in psychopathy have a glory to it you wouldn't say i'm a psychopath whereas these guys had this glory and i'm of attack you know and and they named it fattak which means like somebody with
you know absolute with resolute determination like somebody who once he commits he does you know that salman khan commitment that's what it was that these people they claim to be these people of commitment but yes so um yeah so that's so he tells omar that yes there was this person and i said to him i'm about to kill you and the guy said he said yeah you know what he said you disappoint me [Laughter] and he said huh
disappoint you what on earth is how do i disappoint you he said look you've approached me and i'm here kind of all crouched down on the floor doing this you know i don't have my sword i'm not on not horseback look at you on you know you've come to me horseback uh on horseback you've come carrying a sword wielding a sword and on top of that you're this great warrior
he's like what a you know you disappoint what a cowardice thing to do so you see this is where you go for the eagle so the guy said he said he said he said okay he said what do you want he said well you have to give me your word that until i'm not on until i'm not horseback i'm not you know and i don't have my sword you won't raise a finger towards me you know you got to give me your word you got to take an old spite
and he said well fair enough go on then so then the guy gets up he walks up to his horse he holds its rain and starts walking and and he goes well what are you doing he said ah but you took an oath he said until i'm not riding my horse and i'm not wielding my sword you won't touch me so i'm simply not going to do that he's like a bit [Laughter] am i insane
why on earth would i want to do that i'm not going to fight you so so um [Laughter] so this guy gets away with it and later on in years tells that story this incident to um he's one of the few who reaches islam and becomes muslim but i was going to tell you the incident i was actually going to tell you is because stemming from mad let's go to mahad the tribe
because most of a lot of the hijazi you know quraysh and all these people are from that and banu tamim and all these people so in the time this is pre-islam there was this fattaq this kind of this vagabond psychopathic kind of fighter warrior of a killer by the name of nadamra some people say so sounds a bit more kind of vicious like so this guy he had you know he had really this guy was like
a migraine for the manadera king so in this week's uh mind trap we discussed the manathira the dynasty that were a client kingdom for the sassanids they ruled in the middle east uh iraq and that kind of sham region but they had some extensions further south and this person shaka uh he is you know he is unleashing hell on their territory and they've kind of set aside some troops to catch him
you know this guy he goes what he does is he raids the resources he comes back he attacks their man he's just this one man he's just a one-man cho but he he just randomly this kind of it's not even gorilla warfare because it's not like he's at war with them but he's just doing this because that's what he is this kind of psychopath that just can't get enough and he'll just go and and these belong to the lachman king people say it was not mindy some say maybe monterey but anyway and this king has a huge reputation that
look come on we're the the client kingdom to the sassanids and we are fighting off the hassanides kingdom to the romans and with all this going on we can't handle one man i mean where is our reputation this one guy so this guy they say who is this guy because the lakhmids are from the southern arabs that's where they claim the lineage to be from so to them this guy is from mad so what they do is out of um
kind of hate for it or despising him they use the diminutive form midi so maidi is a is called in arabic so you can make something small either because you kind of maybe it's endearment in a cute way like people like a lot of the names that you find are sometimes done in this form it's kind of like saying a small something so let's say how names like you you find a lot like junaid always this pattern for is a diminutive form so if you put a a name on it
for example that it's making a diminutive that's out of love endearment but you could say it in a way to belittle as well because you could say ah just a you know like if somebody say he's not a man roger is a rugel just a small man it's like it's done out of uh denigration so they used to call him maidi because obviously this guy's you know he's wreaking havoc for them and they can't control him they can't contain this one guy and whenever the troops whoever the soldiers come face to face with him he he destroys them
destroys them and he's like you know he gets there's an incident he's got surrounded by five soldiers he kills them all there's another incident a few soldiers catch up with him he kills them all people are like oh we can't can somebody stop this guy please and he doesn't live with his tribe so they can't find him this goes on for a while mighty is like wreaking havoc eventually the king there's a lesson in this you see ultimately it's like you know it's like you had america doing
this whole thing that you know ah might and it's with anything that with his arrogance eventually let's let's let's have dialogue man it's good to talk yeah so eventually he says you know what let's let's befriend him you know what let's bring it win him over onto our side we can't beat him if you can't beat him join him so let's get him to join us we'll pay him let's give him money you know he's robbing money from us anyway and
we'll kind of send him favors and gifts so so they start contacting no man i mean not my mother sends this message out and it reaches almighty this and he receives these gifts and then you know what he writes back he sends the message all right go on then go on then friend friend so the lakh meads are like few you know that's like wow finally we get you know we can some respite and we can take a breath and have a break and
and then they they start liking them no man's like you know what this guy is like he starts sending him some gifts he says yeah you know what king yaki sends him gifts sends him he says come visit us sometime let us host you like champions huh so so what happens
turns up one day and when he turns up he's this really short scrawny skinny and ugly this is how they describe him they say he's he's like very short and they say he's very skinny and and kind of scrawny and very ugly to me
looks at him and he goes who are you and he's thinking no it can't be and he goes i'm shaking so the king he says and this becomes a proverb in arabic he says you know what that you hear about mighty his that his news reaches you or you hear about him is definitely far better than seeing him [Laughter]
so this has become a proverb in arabic used for anything that doesn't live up to its kind of you know its expectation that he's like and he says that to him and actually he does respond he says to him he says this this kind of whole eloquent speech and and he says in it that he says and you know it's interesting this is also transmitted as a proverb some people may even attribute these things as hadith later on but he says that a man is just really by his two
small things and this isn't an al pacino quote i know people go into scarface it says that he that says person is really weighed by just his two his heart and his tongue says he says
says if he fights he fights with all his might and he says and if he speaks he speaks with clarity and this became also proverbial and obviously it's very eloquent but yeah and that's a famous person who's from the ma'ad tribe and it's an interesting proverb to know right so each to their own what's going on here
all right for the shout out there you're doing it somebody uh misfits and outcasts yeah and the leak are something i'll go over on another day but that their thing is really fascinating because they are the the ancient robin hoods so you have this term with assad and the plural is and they were these kind of vagabond um outcasts that leave their tribe
and they have no affiliate like they no longer are protected by their tribe but what they would do is just kind of they would travel nomadically and they would rob the rich but they would distribute what they robbed amongst the poor and they became incredibly famous they had like a celebrity status people and they were poets so they would say poems about their what they're doing and these feats and accomplishment would spread amongst people and people like people like shumphara
people these are all from the great saliq of the arabs so most of them some there was carried on into islam even after the prophet salallahu al-islam into like maybe bani umayya time this culture was still there in the background there were certain people that for example they were just free spirits and they didn't like the tribes and they just cut themselves off from their own tribe and and but they were these kind of warriors that would go out and they would just look out for caravans or especially but just the rich if they found out somebody was rich and
he was traveling they would rob him and they would just give feed the poor with it so the the classic robin hood um of pre-islamic arabia and we'll go over that another time they're known as the sa alike right the prince out of shrek [Laughter] yeah that's what her name was like
he was a bit like you know you've seen that clip where well there's one in [Laughter] there's one in spanish but i'm sure it's in others as well where the guy says you know take your mask off he takes it off and he says he says take it all off and he goes right away he's like taking it all off like what the oh okay [Laughter] so hmm what's going on proto ins [Laughter] uh
musti what do you think of mo salah i don't know if i'm the best person to comment on him i don't really watch football but i i respect him rate him for just having his just for just being you know sometimes that's all life really is isn't it just being and him just being there as this muslim that is i don't know if i can use the word normal doing
something what normal people watch obviously i don't watch it abnormal but and he's just somebody that oozes and beams love and people love him and i genuinely believe that i believe that you know as as the quran teaches that allah says about turning the hearts of people towards people and this works if people have love in them they will find that they will that the hearts of people will turn to
them it has a frequency of its own so he must be a person like that because people love him and i'm sure i can't comment on his football because i don't watch football but i'm sure it's some it's amazing we have a quranist community in the house all right welcome it's the ugly short raider guy by incel not anyone in the chat by the way
the ugly short raider what an intro they go and his majesty to the ugly short scrawny raider undefeated is here ah it's all fun and games huh right well maybe for the quran is if they want to have a discussion maybe later on when i share the link we can uh bring you know you're more than welcome to speak
you know i i commend you see quranist you see as well i and i tell people always that whenever you're engaging with people try to understand that people too are coming from a place of love for the deen and people that are saying we are quran only in islam they too are coming from a place of deep love for the quran which is admirable and highly admirable and uh i commend that and and they're not coming from a hatred to
the prophet well yeah no muslim could ever hate the prophet shallallahu it's just that and you know they're diverse they they're coming from a um a kind of super skeptic super skepticism or a hyper skepticism which when it comes to epistemological sources of the ah hadith and and more so you see i also feel that they've misunderstood the tradition and the living tradition or they've misunders or not appreciated
it's it's kind of depth and and also not understood maybe the tradition in its totality because the tradition in its totality is not a shafty tradition because it seems that the outcries against a kind of shafit stroke salafite methodology which was not the majority of the ummah so the majority of the ummah were either hanafi or maliki and they were not hadith absolutists they were had these relativists and they were more about the sunnah than they were about hadith and so
there is a lot of misunderstanding along the way and then what happens is arguing and fighting doesn't help it just makes people cement themselves deeper and deeper um and then they don't want to listen nobody wants to listen and people ain't kind towards them you know people this is the same thing with all groups you want to be where beware of the cult because it just becomes all it's just toxic you don't need toxicity okay on that note i'll say that this this is a message i'd really like to emphasize
um it's that i was speaking with a friend of mine and we were discussing and what came up was religious people in religious circles and it's interesting that he said to me he said that look he he was having this conversation with someone and he said to them that look you are a religious person this other person was a religious person with like an organization and he said that you hate on like think about it your actual hate you
the hate that preoccupies your energy is not hate against i don't know a particular race or and not that it should be but it's not hate against a particular tribe or even you might say against a particular faith or a particular ideology in that sense broadly speaking no he said your hate is really channeled towards practicing muslims of other denominations he said think about it you hate on such and such person oh these people are a corrupt sect
oh these people are too wishy-washy this sect this and he said that you're you you you preoccu you're kind of um you're immersed absorbed by this toxicity but really it's not against even the common misunderstanding it's against people who are actually active in islam and who claim these were his words he said who claim to be taking people who want to take people to heaven these were his words he said i said that that's
and these are the people that you are hating against whilst making the same claim that i want to take people to heaven [Laughter] this so this is why it's it's inter it's important to pause and reflect think man what am i doing why have i got negative energy in me why have i got this hatred toxicity is it my my circles i need to change them is it me i need to deal with it but yeah muhammad hassan
much love y'all for the super chat allah may allah bless you uh you're so so that's uh what i'll do is i actually had a poem and then we'll begin the the lesson thing i thought this is a nice poem oh with that
samia you're doing it yeah much love for the super chat um watch it on commute tomorrow yep take your time watch it as you please hope you're doing well um we'll catch up so those of you just tuning in can like and share the feed and whilst you're doing that there's this poem i've i thought you know what it ties in so well with today's lesson oh right so i thought let me i'll take this off where is it
there you go now at least it'll be silent it's why bahzad lucknowi really ties into this matter of resilience this resolute determination and building on from the fatax as well
says you know he's talking about the passion the fire burning in the heart that if we want he says you know this is what it comes down to if we want this anything can be achieved garm can be steps or it can be like two paces like of a horse or basically he's just saying steps i have to just take two steps towards the destination and it shall appear
see poetry is about being experienced it's says i'm ready to to go with you to his guide the perfect guide says but keep this in mind us
says when the destination is in front of us when the goal is there then you push me off the path is he says that if it ever comes to it you call out to me you remember me shut in this path of love there ever appear an obstacle
[Laughter] says that you know about this passion in the heart this fire he says let me consult you take your advice on it [Laughter] says when this heart of mind turns on to you as in it succumbs to you what am i to do then
and here he's this is a bit of a provocative one not in that he's trying to he's teasing here with this says and this is a bit of his note naughtiness in that he says
the transcendent manifestation he's speaking about this is going back to moses mount sinai and the glory of god he says the manifesting glory do you think i am like moses this is this then he he says i'm not mount sinai that i will be that i will crumble whenever you want come in front of me
you know allah has this command this uh kind of rule this kind of arrogance this overconfidence this hubris at times insane has this and we covered that in a previous lesson and it has to you know allah says in the quran you know he he gives an example to us not to suffer to god himself
forgets who he is and he challenges us as the poet says um he says he says we are those people who have even forgotten god so say he says you my dear what delusion are you in
poe example it's this is why allah says about poets what they can and he finishes this it's epic coming back to that resilience says says leave this and this trope is this is a common trope used by urdu poets for um of this of a ship being caught in a storm it's a very common kind of motif that you'll find in urdu poetry
and he says kashtik so the person is trapped what do they do impending doom let leave the boat the ship in the hands of god kastika god himself is the one who watches over the ship
he says that these waves that are carrying us it is not impossible by god's will that through these waves comes the shore that they take us ashore it's not impossible see faith and resilience it's a very powerful poem incredibly powerful right um
i have a nice view on the lady of heaven film i haven't watched the lady of heaven film so if i watch it i'll let you guys know so bringing let's move on to what we're taking a look at here and this is was the mind trap if you've not
just a quick side uh an orthogonal point the orthogonality a side point man an irrelevant point is that we'll be doing the the book lounge thing tomorrow uh but the new book for this month is oliver sark's awakenings so those of you that want to read up on it in your own time you can do it's amazing book and it's one which
it speaks about his breakthrough research with people that were struggling with un at the time unknowable psychiatric illnesses and what dr oliver sachs um his kind of intervention and just the breakthrough it's it's it's just wow so i'm really looking forward to this book there's a lot to go with this month's book in terms of uh there's there's a movie made on it by um robin williams it's it's quite old robin williams and robert de niro called awakenings based on the book there's interviews by dr oliver sax on
youtube this um documentaries on his research it's just there's a lot you know if you really want to get into it it's all about his the the the medicine el dopa and how he was using it and the breakthrough that were made but also some of the the mind-boggling um because you're coming because some of these people they were in this what people didn't nobody could understand why they went into this kind of this state of what they were calling like a um it was like almost like a sleepy death where they were awake but just dead like catatonic and and some of them like that for years for 40 years
they were like that you know 30 years 20 years this catatonic state just withering away no expressions but his it's interesting because he deals with these clients and although he doesn't really consent from them obviously this is going back then the ethics committees were slightly not like today and he tries this breakthrough drug and the results he gets and they wake up and they come to life and they start saying things they start dancing they start but their thoughts on life and how some of them choose not this life then and they want to go back to that slumber
and and this whole discussion in awakenings it's i'm really looking forward to it but those that want to read it as well definitely go for it i thought i'd share that okay so bismillah taking a look at today's lesson be isn't it
i also believe in the shaytan regime right verse 216 it does this this is beginning from this part of the verse okay because this is the the part i want to speak about few verses before 155.
these verses are so important incredibly important you see it may be this term asa in arabic it's not with assad that i saw with the sod means to disobey asa with the scene is used as perhaps or it may be the antakara it may be that you dislike something you don't want to do it
you don't want it to happen you don't want to be a part of it and you don't want it to be a part of your journey allah says and yet were here you see there are many things that we will now allah then mentions when you say how how is this good for me
i'm going through a tough time you know i would want i would want this to carry on maybe somebody's lost a job somebody's fallen ill relationships broken down person saying this is a disaster what do you mean where's the good in this i would want this to carry out want the job to carry i would want this relationship to work
perhaps it is that you would love for something wawa and it is actually harmful for you in the greater outcome but you say how wallahu is you don't know it is only in time to come as the story your story the chapters become complete that it will make sense in hindsight
you don't know at this stage this chapter of your life you may be chapter 3 chapter 5 of your life and maybe this is going to tie in with chapter 8 you don't know you're thinking well this doesn't make any sense in fact this is horrible it's the worst thing that's happened to me
but knowing that allah god knows but you don't know there is an element of submission of surrendering that you see it's happened anyway whatever the situation is whatever difficulties people are facing it's already happened unless you're just you're just catastrophizing mentally it has already happened so why not then just put your trust in
god it's happened anyway so why not trust him you know and this second verse really complements this once again from surabakara see and we shall try you we shall test you in this world what does this mean you see this is a matter of perspective
allah is not saying it because see there's different ways of looking at these one way is oh this is what god's purpose is to test his creation so often you get people atheists saying oh so god just wants to test people no this is you see you have to look at this from the superposition perspective of the quran superpositions are that an aspect at one time any particular thing any ruling anything has multiple
superpositions to it see disasters catastrophes crises these things will happen it is the nature of reality with a capital r it is the dunya here dunyal what does he say here dunya dania
you know by its nature it's just catastrophes but it is the nature of this dunya that we will it is the nature of life we will face difficulties we will face and and here they are summed up look they're summed up fear hope
hunger and and fear is such an amazing one because my mother nurse fear from people yeah sure but for me for me you know fear from being killed fear from sure those things but it's greater than that al fufikum the fear is within you afraid of rejection afraid of no validation afraid of
being yourself afraid to walk this path not being dependent on other people and here it's being said as we will but that's because ultimately everything ultimately everything is in motion by god ultimately so since it's going to happen anyway look at the superposition of the quran see because to the person that it's
happening to they are going through this so what do they do they read this it gives them that response straight away see it's from be resilient have patience it changes the story straight away because a person might be saying oh you know i'm it's because of this person it's because of that person and it is in the dunya it is because of these people this person's being a pain this person has fired you from work it's because of this illness you're like this it's because it is because of these things
but a different superposition to that is well okay this is god he's trying me it's a test let me be resilient you change the narrative all of a sudden you find the resilience you also find it in yourself all of a sudden to be less reciprocally toxic and hating on the other people look at the beauty of that it's not that people say oh is this because god is doing this no but look at what the shift
in the narrative does to your narrative and then in turn to you in how you face challenges in life all of a sudden you find it in you you know i'm not going to fail allah if allah has tested me with these things then you know you can lift allah enough then if he has burdened me with it it's because he knows i can carry the burden you find yourself rising you stand to the challenge you see you shift the narrative oh it's this person he's done this to me all
this person such a so-and-so and this all these group of people oh my social media account has been blocked and oh this is this oh i've fallen ill oh because of this oh i hate this i hate my life i hate look at the story how it changes allah says what but is sobbing give them glad tidings give them glad tidings that hang in there you know it may seem dark but the darkest hour is just before dawn
stay strong so this these lessons these verses they jump up at us because it doesn't matter who you are where you are in life there will always be some challenges that's the name of life so and following from that if we just bring these verses back up
these two beautiful verses on and then one of the most powerful verses and i tell you say this like a mantra to yourself if you ever find yourself in any difficulty speak to that inner breathe in
into your heart and say latassen do not be sad inna man and lies with us you'll find yourself you'll find yourself cutting through the forests of crises no matter how thick they are you'll fly through them so these verses give so much power when you reflect on these things that in let me just bring them back up
do not lose hope in the mercy of god in his help in his salvation in only those who have no faith but why is he note that why is allah saying that he's saying it because everybody has faith we all have faith everybody has it even eight everybody has faith i mean for the love of god we are on a
huge gigantic rock that is spinning at you know unimaginable speeds hanging in nothingness rotating around another rock that is on fire and yet we are so calm and we are living our lives everybody you know they say
that the world itself only stands and goes on by hope so it's true this is what lies right because it doesn't here it's not just about kuffar as in they disbelieve in god it's that ultimately everyone has faith you see so don't give up on that no matter what the circumstances no matter what the challenge is and i thought this is honestly such a striking and beautiful verse to share
and to just remind us all that these verses and especially the second the second that you see here in surah verse 40 in allah i tell people use it like a mantra whenever and it's not here but inna fatahna like we have given you a new opening a new victory but you just can't see it yet but that's okay you don't need to see it yet
but in time it will unfold so having that resilience it's so important because god knows you know anybody watching this what challenges they are facing in their own lives what difficulties they are facing in their you know what the obstacles people may be critically ill people may be terminally ill people may have just lost a parent lost a sibling lost a child god forbid people may have just
lost a relationship lost a job lost a home lost lost something or maybe there's other problems going on in life but whatever it is that we know that bashir is sobering this is why that poem you know it may seem shipwrecked leave it to god
god watches over the ship these waves that are you you see impending doom in that it's not impossible [Laughter] that these very waves take us to the shore it's not impossible have a little faith so allahu akbar may allah make easy everyone's struggles and i think this is a really important i want to recover that i'll take a look at some
um i'll take a look at some of your comments and questions and then i'll share an incident that's actually very relevant to all of these to this topic and but from the seerah of the prophet salallahu yeah whose poem is that that's by bahazi if you search um just a matlab the matlab is the first line of a poem they call it matlab it's in arabic and an inorder as well it says
i love it honestly it's a epic it's one of those that ah you could rise out of a coma with it [Laughter] yeah that's how do you spell his name i think they spell it b-e-h-z-a-d right so what is going on let me take a look people are saying questions comments yeah i mean look you're more than welcome to
doesn't mean i'll answer them but you're more than welcome to post questions post comments remarks greetings thoughts um i get it that people look you greet each other on the on the messages and people on the chat they may kind of have a cordial hey and i get that that's nice and pleasant but what i don't like was when people were just going on at with each other and i don't know they were dissing each other and they were just going on and on and on on here and you see and what happens is when when
it distracts me and it's not even relevant and it's just a waste of time so and i don't really want that kind of an audience so that's my point but otherwise yes you can have your thoughts and share your thoughts and things cool right so yeah on that thought i would also let me share a i was going to
share a thought it comes back to this day and age and especially the younger people i think it affects everyone but maybe more so people who are young not as old [Laughter]
he says she claims i'm an old man now and he says but i'm not an old man denial so um yeah but i think it affects more so younger people but it affects everyone it doesn't discriminate and and that was about social media and i was going to highlight that it's important and it really ties into it ties into a principle learn this principle people and that is that you see
be positive but don't don't be in a perpetual pursuit for positivity so positive being positive is positive it's awesome it's a it's a positive experience but pursuing a positive experience is actually a negative experience okay and
what does that mean well what that means is that you see being positive is great it's wonderful and it's what you should all be trying to be but by doing things by but trying to pursue as in the pursuit of just a positive experience like i want to experience i need to be experiencing positive i need to be experiencing positive i need to be see what it's doing subconsciously is reminding you that you're currently not positive
you're not in a state of positivity that you're actually lacking this and that's why you're pursuing it you haven't quite got it you are right don't you are trying to you see constantly reminding yourself seeking some like if i say i need to be happy i need to be happy i need to be happy that's not you see seeking an experience pursuing an experience is the wrong way to go about it that's actually a negative experience what you want to do is pursue things that will
give that as a byproduct so you think well what makes me positive i know doing something reading being with friends being with family maybe going for a walk this makes you're doing something which as a byproduct reading poetry learning meditating being mindful being in nature these things whatever it is that brings for you as a byproduct it brings you that happiness
pursue those things but don't pursue just don't be in this obsessive search for happiness and positivity because what that does is it keeps reminding you that you you don't have it because if i say i don't need to be happy i need to need to be happy i need to be happy i'm just telling myself i'm not happy and this is the same thing you see with people constantly trying to be in pursuit of being i very attractive for example
or trying to be uh i need to the pursuit of of i need to be rich or i need to be these things because it's telling them that they're currently not that and you'll get people on social media trying to you see they think i need to have more sexual appeal i need to have more i need to have more and they're telling themselves i don't have it so what they're doing is they they're trying to post this picture or post this thing and then seek the validation of others
to say well you know you need to validate me that i have these things then oh no i don't i've not been validated enough today or if i was validated last week i'm not validated today and how do i get that you know i need to i need to reach this thing it's like this the the carrot hanging in front of the donkey trying to to it's this perpetual never-ending chase pursuit which they'll never reach it and it's all in there shifting that that actually
hmm contentment actually i get it it's great to connect with people it's wonderful to um it's wonderful to have people like my pictures or do things and share the express there you know i i love it but but i don't need people to validate me i need to start with me and this is where the journey the whole thing the whole thing begins and it goes back to that
this fear i need to give up this fear i i don't need to worry and be afraid that people won't validate me it's fine you know in allah allah is with us so i think that's an important reminder cool take a look at some of these questions right we've had some super chats that's the ego the self indeed not max please a topic on internal racism color prejudice what internal racism or what's internal racism
but shukran for the super chat marks much love i'm not with the color and prejudice part i get that internal racism i don't know what that means mufti can you please bring back javad harsh me on your mind trap sure of course i'm i'll drop him a message why not i mean it's always wonderful to get people on i love one of the awesome things about my traps is it connects me with people who have you know people of ideas you know great people discuss ideas
they don't discuss people that's the law that's the plebs that discuss people you want to discuss ideas and i i love that i love you with all my heart mufti just passing by for a bit you know in those words you sum up life itself
what do you say people life can be summed up in those words that that would make a great uh epitaph something to write on a tombstone just passing by for a bit be in this world as though you are just a fellow traveler yeah the hadith says he took shade under a tree for a few days then got up and walked on allah allah see that's what it is ultimately we are
and god knows how that is huh ultimate true consciousness how is that all right um mr superchat i see saracen you do in it much love should come for the super chat mufti should we cut off friends if they do not make us grow even though they've done nothing wrong to us your friend is 30 years old but still acts 18.
right yeah um you see it is important that you surround yourself and this doesn't have to mean physically surrounding yourself it means you have friends who who share your
your understanding to grow people may grow differently you see now growth it's interesting because growth is you see scientifically speaking it is one of the necessary uh predicating factors for life life necessitates growth at a cellular level if there is no growth at an absolute you know molecular and cellular level there is no life it's dead growth is necessary for life
yeah says what's the um but he says that being alive is is it's about this growth and it's obviously saying about the girls from the heart but the point is that you have to have this environment it has to be there because we are social
creatures you can't you need people so what do you do with friends that are not like that and god forbid they are toxic if they're toxic you really need to start distancing yourself from them if they're people who put you down you know the crab theory those of you that don't know the the crab theory is that you see if you if you get a crab and you put it in a in a bucket if it's of you know reasonable size the crab can kind of climb its way out
but what happens is you put a bunch of crabs in there and every time one crab tries to climb up they pull it back down and if it persists in trying to climb out they actually break its legs they actually break its bones they attack it viciously and this crab theory environment is what you want to avoid at all costs if you are finding that your friends are like that then that is a problem [Music] and this must be resolved like you need to kind of
break away from that you need to and it may not be that bad that they are toxic but they're just not integral so they are for example still stuck 15 years ago they have no ambition in life they have zero but let's say they're not toxic let's say they're decent as in good they don't put you down necessarily but they don't uh promote your growth and they don't bounce off those vibes and but they're just very content with how they were let's say 15 years ago
and they're just still doing that and they they're not interested in anything else they just get by that's life they just they've got kids and that's it and now i don't think you should cut these people off i don't think that's a nice thing to do and that's not the true sign of friendship these people are your friends but they may not share ambition they may not have passion in life so that's fine you know but make new circles of friends as well see still go see these people occasionally just
drink tea with them just just talk about whatever they talk you know they want to talk about hey have you watched this movie and hey i'm just go you know sometimes let me tell you something as you age in life as you age huh you'll start to realize that often it's not the words it's just the presence and company you know in fact this month's book that we're going to be covering inshallah tomorrow night the bonobo and the atheist which we finished it's interesting that they speak about how chimpanzees you see
they are experts at non-verbal communication because that's how they communicate and they can read body language so well and because of that they can read human body language and it's interesting how franz de well mentions that at times he would have certain people come into the lab who were let's say they were negative towards this whole thing they weren't really but then they would take a tour a tour of the lab let's say they go into the the the kind of the chimpanzee area the chimp area and
how the chimps would avoid and it's like they would that but even though when that person's come up to them he hasn't done anything or said and he's come very normal he's not like oh he's just come normal but the chimps would avoid that person and it's interesting he said when certain guests would come that would be really loving and keen towards this whole project of the chimps would walk with even though it's the first time they seen them but they would act as though they weren't strangers it's as though they could tell what their intentions were and he says because they were experts at body language
and they can read things they can read signs that humans can't even pick up and so yes so this whole thing of what i'm saying is that communication is sometimes non not sometimes often nonverbal and sometimes you just want to be in the company of someone it's not even you know i was saying this to a friend of mine when and now lockdown is over but still it has its effects you know you can't go i mean i suppose in traveling internationally still has pressures yet
but i was saying this to a friend once i said you know i said it's interesting because we would we would go sometimes me and my my friend and i can say i call him right and i said you know sometimes we meet up and we we're going on this long drive or we're going and i'm we're just talking we're catching up you know oh this has happened that's happened this happened that's happened and then we kind of realized we've kind of run out of things we've kind of caught up
and it's not and then you kind of realize it's you see it's not the things it's just the company that you like and you kind of enjoy and i think that's a wonderful thing in and of itself so don't cut these people off if they're not toxic enjoy be with them you see just be that's all
but have other circles it's necessary that you make new friends as well stop become a par a part of certain meetups that you find like-minded meetups if you're into i don't know you're doing something in business or you're doing something in this particular hobby or this particular interest or you want to start going to the gym and these people are into it then you just you know okay the gym you can just that's something you can just start solo because once you go these people doing it but let's say you had an interest in art and
find like-minded people in your city they must have regular meetups find people on line find people develop new friendships as well because it's important you see because not all your friends will always be they're not going to be clones of you you see like some of my mates they they can't stand this crypto currency thing i was just talking a bit about it today earlier on i was saying hey on one of our groups but but the thing is that but there'll be some people that are into it and you talk to them about it there's some people who are into this and you talk to them about that but you keep
developing you keep growing right humans more like chimpanzees or bonobos that's such a fascinating discussion he shows the stats in this that we're kind of in the middle to both so chimps you see like that's a picture of a bonobo yeah so they if if you're unfamiliar they look just like they look to to to normal people they look just like chimpanzees but once you become familiar with the differences you can actually tell they are like the nerdier they're like the nerdier version that's
how he describes them as well you see if you place them side by side chimps seem to be much more uh hench with their they seem to be much more muscular they seem to have a slightly wider uh jaw structure and you can then tell you see once you can tell you start ah right i see what you mean they seem like the more nerdy type and the more and they are i mean chimps are incredibly intelligent as well but the bonobos are very intelligent in their own way and they're both related to humans but with similar degrees of variation so it's like humans
are in the middle uh to them both and and they are related to each other as well but they're different um and it's interesting that the the dialogue which way or hume do humans sway more towards is it chimpanzee behavior or bonobo behavior and bonobos are fascinating you know they like honestly this this book really opened my eyes to he really deals with morality and bonobo tribes and how they do things and they're very um they're very peaceful compared to other compared to the other primates
and they are matriarchal which is interesting i wonder if that's the determining factor so these societies are run by the alpha female and not by the alpha male even though bonobo males are physically bigger and stronger than the females but yet their societies are matriarchal and they resolve mostly conflicts through sex it's it's like they are the only other species beyond humans who are so obsessed with sex and it's that they will you see if you put so let's say they he
he gives site studies of when they introduce uh separate a new tribe to bonobo tribes and what they do is there'll be this this minute of or one two minutes of this kind of like tension that they'll just kind of just eye each other out and and then they'll just get together and have this huge orgy and it obviously it'll just be all kinds so it's heterosexual homosexual everything but but not incestual that's that was a fascinating point as well that they show because people that have claimed that these things are socialized incest and it's not inherent it seems to be
inherent within you know all these wide variety of species that they do do not that there's this taboo but um yeah and then they'll just all get on and they'll be perfectly fine it's like wow maybe humans can and chimpanzees you see it's really fascinating with this the author really goes into detail to show as well that you know we have this image that uh we have this image that chimpanzees are super cute and they are right so i mean
zara zozo my she watches all these kind of youtube channels where they have these pet chimpanzees at home and they do look super cute i have to say you know they kind of dress up like humans and like really they do all these things and but he highlights that it's these people that say that all these chimpanzees are super cute have never lived amongst or seen chimpanzees in their natural habitat they are so brutal and you could never like he gives this example you know how you could just introduce two tribes of bonobos you could never do that with chimpanzees
there would be a full-blown war at such a gruesome level that they will do things like gorge the eyes out rip the testicles off the other they will mutilate they don't just when they find an opposing chimp they don't just beat him they torture him to death they will this incidence that he cites where they will pick up these rocks and keep bashing him on his head till they crush his skull i mean they they are like so brutal and they can you know the chimps even bonobos with with the clench of a jaw they can crush
a bone that's how much power especially chimps they have in their jaw they're very sharp teeth by the way uh they ca chimpanzees do eat meat but they off infrequently do they they are uh omnivorous they can do have like these ruthless canines if you see a chimpanzee and he's his kind of bite it's ruthless it can actually crack a bone it does crack bones but they only crack it off they don't when they have internal tribal fighting so in when they fight within the tribe and they won't um it shows that they even when they hate the other person they're still
exercising some restraint because they don't crack bones and things they may be they'll beat up the other member and beat him up even bad but they even when they're beating up bad they usually won't crush his bone so it shows that they're exercising some kind of self-restraint but when they find a member of another tribe they are ruthless beyond measure and it's so much that i think humans can learn from how these primates behave because and but within their own community the structures they have and the rules and the laws it's fascinating we got to
discuss this tomorrow on the book club it's like wow honestly you learn that how they recognize fairness for example firsthand fairness how they they get upset if they're being treated unfairly and how their memories of when they hurt someone even years later they remember it and how they take care of their sick and they take care of the elderly and how they uh it's they they run a campaign to become the next alpha and it's amazing and even how fear of consequences are so crucial to them
to to for the community to prosper there has to be this fear of consequence and it's interesting that when the alpha male goes out so he will let's say in certain settings we the alphas has left for for a while then then all the other males start their things and they they they start all playing up and now then they go and they start mating or trying to mate but uh and flashing the you know the the privates but what they will do is in between they'll stop and they'll go and check is the alpha back and he's not back and
they'll carry on and then they'll keep like after every 10 minutes they'll go and check as he come back and when he comes back they do this kind of uh this uh uh this sense of this kind of flattery of trying to to welcome him like hey and they'll go and pet him and oh like they're so wowed by shabashi you know the champion it's amazing honestly i think it's so wow that the intelligence they have as well and that they have the um the self-restraint of a child a human child so a monkey can will give
up a banana to have a a better banana or a better reward but he will give it up if he's told like okay don't eat this banana but we'll give you more and he understands that and he has to self but this banana is in front of him and he has to self they can self-restrain for about 18 minutes they found which is about the maximum for a child as well and so it's and then after that he's like ah forget that it's like let's just eat this but but on some things they display much more intelligence than a child
you see so when a monkey was given a scenario like the bonobos when he was given a scenario where he's put in a room and there's some food but he can't reach it and he needs to devise a plan to reach it so he's trying to come up with some but there's no tools there and then later on he's given a tool he would choose the right tool to go and reach it but what was interesting better than that was when the monkey was later on given a tool and there was no hanging fruit but he was given a choice between the tool or fruit he chose the tool and put it away for a future uh
for a future scenario where he may find hanging food so he's planning and but whereas a human infant wouldn't do that so so it's fascinating you know the sense of uh the sense of how they have a sense of this planning and how they sense uh wrongdoing when they know they've done something wrong by the way that's fascinating like how uh a chimp would um so one chimp that's taken away and it could see the other chimps although they're not there but they are you know they're out there and they can look in through the glass and they can
see this gym and the chimp is doing tasks and receiving a reward so he keeps receiving the reward but then he can see the other chimps are watching him so then he will the chimp in in this case stop taking the rewards but it continued to do the task but when given the reward wouldn't take it because it knew that the other chimps could see it and they could it could they would see this as being unfair so when he goes back in the bathroom so so he would just refuse but when they offered the the fruits also to the other chimps and this gym then it ate it
it's amazing honestly i think allah says in the quran that you know go travel look into nature learn observe don't they look at this don't they look at the camel look at animals allah says that um they are like civilizations that mirror you in certain ways yeah so fascinating
right did i miss a super chat all right i see saracen you do and yeah much love for the super chat examples being should we deny our caveman instincts examples being polygamous fighting other men for women and resources and controlling our women [Laughter] you see that's interesting you say that because um just just on this part that it's not how you'd be actually very surprised how primates respond
so a female so for example he discusses in this book and he's one of the world's leading primatologists he discusses things like uh um rape amongst amongst monkeys and amongst bonobos or bonobos they could never do it but um he discusses that generally it doesn't happen it doesn't happen like and and it's very fascinating that he highlights that study he says that because he says as a one-off if it did happen he says what usually happens is that
let's say a a chimpanzee overpowers a female chimp and um and now he overpowers her what she would do is go away come back with female chimps and they will beat him up and what would usually happen is uh the alpha would also they would beat him it's not condoned behavior in the in the tribe of chimps they don't so maybe if they met a female chimp somewhere that didn't belong to the tribe and but usually when that happens fighting breaks out but if as a one-off they did something
like this like a rape kind of forced culture but the culture doesn't exist because usually chimps live within tribes so they could be anything like up to 150 50 chimps let's say they live together anything going up to 100 going beyond but they don't uh because the females wouldn't have it so usually what happens is the males kind of try to win over the females the so whoever becomes the alpha they all want him because he has that position and the alpha has them and then the alpha allows other ones to to have them and he doesn't um and some he will be
obviously jealous of and he won't but some of them the other males will just mate but they will kind of walk about and he mentions the studies they'll kind of flash do flash themselves and and they'll do all this kind of like macho kind of walking and they're trying to impress um the the the females and if she's okay with it they will then mate but it's not this culture of controlling how you would think you see you would think that because to be honest before i've read this book with the studies i would have thought that that oh they just control the females in the tribe i was shocked to learn that actually that
seldom ever happens and if it happens as a one-off they actually get together and beat that chimp up and in bonobo tribes it's actually matriarchal so the women seem to overpower the women the females overpower the males even though the males are physically stronger but they so in a bonobo setting it mentioned that one male and one female uh it wouldn't be clear like but it's not hostile but it's not clear but as soon as there's just two females the male becomes subordinate whereas in chimpanzees it's not like
that so chimpanzees the male refuses to be subordinate but he wouldn't do something like control them but he wouldn't let them control him for example he'd just do his own thing so but it's fascinating i find this so but yes coming to the other part of the question polygamous it is you see it is human nature because we are we are ultimately creatures as well and animals and the species they are males are polygamous by nature now in our current societies monogamy is restricted to i guess one at a time
it's more like that and yeah i guess in some cultures it's just one lifelong and in some cultures there's polygamous islam to be fair has always it's never been against that nature of humans it's just said that look this is probably going to happen anyway in many parts of the world so why not just give rights and structures and to it it's not that islam tells people to be polygamous it just understands that this will happen and you see in certain so for example in certain relationships people will i actually think you know i'm i'm being
this i'm saying this from my heart i feel that um many people in western societies or in societies where they don't have this concept of polygamy i feel that deep down they do envy and wish they did have it even though they won't accept that but that's because i feel that you see there's many parts of a relationship where a relationship kind of breaks down or it's having issues but it's it still has some life to it but people may embark on other relationships and
okay islam has at least it has a concept where okay if all people involved are okay with this it can still go on and when i say okay i get it that people won't be thrilled it's not that they'll be thrilled but it still allows the maintenance of some structure whereas you see in some societies you're told that that's now an insult and you have to be insulted by this and you can't accept this structure and thereby
i feel that people will even if they were okay with it they won't be okay with it because society will insult them and so they have to break that tie and they have to break that relationship whereas they may not even themselves be looking for another relationship or they may not you see what i'm saying is that it does offer some it's not a solution to all problems in relationships like some people would fantasize that it is it's not because it would just have its own problems but it does offer some solutions to some
problems which isn't accepted um [Music] in in this part of the in this part of the world commonly and often what's interesting is that comes from women against women that's interesting as well but that's a discussion for another day but when you see when you said do we deny these i don't know what deny means um i definitely don't agree with controlling women we do not control nobody should be controlling anyone right but uh the other things is i don't know what that means in a natural
setting obviously each person to their own life you know islam doesn't say do this it just gives you the options and a person can do it islam doesn't say you have to get married it tells you look this marriage isn't is an option and people because they're going to do it anyway and so or they're going to embark on relationships anyway so yeah so islam you know sometimes people ask me that oh i'm having these difficulties in my relationship should i get divorced should i stay together what does islam say i say that you know i'm
i'm sure islam is flattered that you think it's so it has so much interest in you in your life islam does not micromanage islam gives guidelines and then lets you be it's like if you said should i go for a jog at 8 a.m in the morning what does islam say time doesn't say anything and the fact that you think you need to be micromanaged is indicative of the problem itself you see that you want to go for a job go for a jog islam says keeping healthy is wonderful but it doesn't tell you how to keep
healthy it's not going to say you should you know do bench presses and do this and do that and do squatting and do all this kind of no it's just gonna say look take care of your health it's a gift from god how do you do it go figure you know it's like okay i want to be in a relationship that's wonderful you know islam says it's from the sunnah of the prophet salallahu should i be in a relationship with this person it's up to you you know but people want to defer these things to god and let god tell me shall i should it be this guy should it be that guy should it be this girl should be like you know let me pray my istihara
let me look into the magic bowl and see what let me wait for my dream but then they'll be like oh my god now i've got these problems now what does islam say well do i stay you know is it hit me or not actually hit me i mean playing 21 is it do do i stick or do i you know what do i do so yeah so these things they come down to you islam does not micromanage you you need to step out of this people too many muslims unfortunately can become a victim of
this i've had people sometimes ask me you know they'll ask me all kinds of very things like what do you think i should do and i'll be honest i'll be like look i don't even know you like i'm just being honest why would you that's like me picking up the phone to a stranger and saying look i'm just about to should i buy this or should i sell it and it's like mate i got no idea i got no idea who you are i mean i could you see wouldn't i say to them wouldn't it be better that you had a conversation with a friend
who actually knows your life and they could advise you that actually you know i think this is going well for you this is not going well for you um but i so this is this these things are really important that you don't seek to be micromanaged in islam by islam it's not here to micromanage you and the prophet said in hadith
and so kind of trying to be micromanaged by the dean you know hello those people who become like they have this ocd of being of control like i want what does islam say about this what color should i wear what does islam say you know what islam doesn't you know you unfortunately islam isn't that interested in your everyday particulars but look at it on the bright side you see islam has given you freedom do what you do as you please it's given you guidelines and you just follow them
so yeah and it says nobody will become so micromanaged with it except it will destroy the dean will overcome them meaning it will snap them so don't treat it in that way don't pick up i seriously advise people don't just pick up a phone to you see a beer sab or a chef you see take guidance from these people it's wonderful you know if you've got your shaykh or a pizza or a mufti or a maulana saab that you reach out to on guidance you learn wonderful things
from they teach you to be a good human being that's amazing but if they don't really know you as in i don't mean know of you but know you know what's going on in your life don't phone the don't phone them for these issues speak to somebody who knows the problem speak to a family member speak to a friend say what do you think use your own brain and then trust on allah
sorry that's me saying i'm not reading it i'm just let me see i don't know what that says mufti what are the differences between the methods yeah there's so many differences so many i can't really go through them today right let's uh oh
what are these are the time you know what let's share a uh something from the sierra and then which ties in with today's session really of resilience and then i'll share the link and people can come on and this is a hadith that you have okay keys to the world but with this in mind
i want to share a snippet from the seerah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi sallam something to inspire you okay when that ties in with this with resilience in life but also with vision with ambition and with seeing dreaming and aspiring to achieve big in life okay
many of us know the the incident of khandak okay what had happened is [Music] quraysh were against the prophet sallallahu alaihi sallam had formed an alliance a coalition with many large tribes okay those from island um from ghathan and others like bani sulaim and they had several large tribes that were also considered some of them from the kind of gemarat arab those that were
standalone tribes who had come formed this coalition known as which means the coalition so and there's a surah in the quran which discusses some of this as well now the prophet salallahu salaam heard about this as did the muslims in madina that this coalition had formed and they were getting ready to come and attack the muslims and the prophet salallahu salem was very disturbed by this suddenly
you know in a heartbeat the the joyous laughter of the children in medina the the kind of chattering of the people in the markets in medina the the everyday life what was the kind of heart throbbing away pulsating in this city in this town was within a split second brought into compromise
it's it's known i mean it's there's no doubt on what would happen to all these people should this coalition be successful and the coalition was a mighty one the tribes of gratfan are huge this was a huge tribe very powerful as well now the prophet was concerned that what do we do so it's at this point that salman al-pharasi advises the prophet and this is very well known that he tells the prophet that look
from the legacy or the tradition or the technique tactics of the sassanids because he was persian and and i've got another video explaining where um about salman al-fatiha about the battle of buddha and the angels and that's a a different discussion and i speak about that and alternate theories and but how salman al-farsi's background i mentioned in that and he was somebody that he wasn't just anybody from persia he was a significant person that um had also held a high accomplishing military role in his life as well but he
was also somebody a deep philosopher as well in search of faith and truth so he advises the prophet of the trenches we would dig trenches where the um the invading armies couldn't traverse them because how do you get past the trenches in your horses and camels you can't and if you jump into them you can't really climb out on the other end and if you do you know you're exposed so so the prophet salallahu salem takes says that that's an excellent idea this also goes to show for
on a side note that how taking from other cultures is something that the prophet salallahu encouraged now they start to dig the trenches and normal life has come to a standstill and the days go by and they're digging these trenches and the armies are approaching the the coalition armies so
the people in medina are very kind of shaken they've bec they're also not just shaken because of the fear which they naturally are but also the physical threat which is not not just war but hunger because see they've had to be just working and you're digging a trench around the whole entire town nobody's out there food or harvesting or trading or people are beginning to get hungry and people are beginning to
really it's getting to them it's weakening them and now that you're weak you're not really feeling you're yeah you know we can take them on you're not feeling mighty you're not feeling you're despondent you're again they're thinking damn and these rumors had already spread or some rumors had spread that bani na the um and that these jewish settlements which were really on the outskirts of the town because when you're digging trenches they can still they can still penetrate them that they had a secret
uh treaty or an agreement to betray the muslims of medina these rumors had started to spread and something that the muslims also uncovered later on because they actually did they actually had an opening because the trench because the bunny um settlements were had access still to medina the town so all of these things are going on people are thinking damn you know they're looking at their children who are hungry who also for all we know within maybe a day's notice or two days maybe massacred or killed and there's just this
this fear and this is looming in medina and what happens is during this time the coalition has arrived by the way but they can't traverse the trenches because they were like huge trenches so they've just setting up camp they're just setting up a camp and they think well you know what we'll do is we will lay siege we'll starve them out no food can go in and they did for something like just under a month whilst this is happening the muslims are
fortifying these trenches now what happens is there's a a rock a boulder a huge rock under as you're kind of digging deeper on certain parts of this trench there's a boulder that the companions they're hitting it they've got their axe peak they can't break it and they just stop
they look at each other and then they go to the prophet salallahu and they say ya rasulullah there's a boulder there's a rock the prophet sallallahu alaihi sallam looks at them he looks into their eyes
it's not the boulder it's not the rock people it's the calamity it's the despondency it's the creeping despair the prophet can see that these people are losing the spirit
that losing is an actuality that has appeared to them in their hearts and minds the prophet salallahu how does he respond he immediately gets up he says come with me smiles he says come with me the companions outside see the prophet saw islam approaching he he takes the axe pick from one of them smiles shoulders up
comes straight up to this they're looking at the prophet sallallahu alaihi he just seems to be positive undeterred he looks at them he says says hadi this rock he picks he raises the axe pick and the prophet says bismillah with the first and he strikes down at this rock strikes it with his might
and a portion of it chips away and the prophet says allahu akbar he smiles and he says they're looking at the prophet he says i have been given the keys to rome
he says he says it's as though i can see the palaces draped in red because that's how the romans had decorated some of their palaces they look at the prophet he raises the axe pig slams it down second time and you see this crack appearing in the boulder and the prophet says he says
he says i've been given the keys to the kingdom of the sassanids to kisrah he says it's as though i can see they would know they had this white palace in this city called madan and it was white and he says it's as though i can see the ramada i can see the white beaming palace of madain belonging to kisara
and the prophet smiles at them he raises for the final time third strike the axe pig slamming down onto this rock and it cracks open and the prophet says he says it's as though i can see sana'a from where i stand allahu akbar the people cried out allahu akbar
the coalition that are standing there i mean they they've kind of laid camp obviously they can't understand what what the high spirits are about these people in the days that follow they are struck with a sandstorm that becomes so out of control that they have to they have to kind of dissipate and disappear and and and then the tribes give up with them say that you know says oh we haven't got time for you and they leave them and they eventually break away and this siege is broken and this this coalition dissipates and
disappears but this point coming to this lesson see that's the the history side the lesson is that you see the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he sees that these people their hearts are being struck with the potential for failure and he rises he smiles in the face of adversity he goes out these people are facing a threat from who coalition of tribes
coalition ratfan it's a big tribe these people yes island you've got bani sulaim you've got these people you've got quraysh yes it's big relatively speaking in front of you it's big who are the super super empiric so the empire kingdoms the dynasties of the world surrounding surrounding those people the assassinate empire the persians the roman empire
the southern arabian hemia right sorry the hemiary or the hemiright dynasties the dynast the kings the empires that have the legacies they claim for over a thousand years in southern arabia the hemiari kings kingdoms have been going on for centuries the romans have been going on for centuries the persian sassanids have an aged ancient dynasty and an empire and heritage these are huge huge galactic relatively speaking prospects or
just landscapes the immediate threat is these tribes ratfan and sulaim and so on these things the prophet what he sees when he sees the despondency in the eyes of some beaming positivity he strikes down on each strike raising their ambition setting this vision in their eyes that yeah you're talking about this i've just seen uti
you're talking about this rome has fallen to us it has opened up for us people are thinking what is the prophet what is he saying striking the kisrah and the wealth and the opulence of the sassanid empire has opened its doors to us what are you talking about the final strike not only does the rock split apart the prophet says yemen these the these dynasties this legacy of centuries of these kingdoms southern arabian kingdoms they've opened their door it's
as though i can see it he puts the vision the seed of the vision in the minds and hearts of those around him and from that moment it is set into motion when they're at the lowest of the low that's when you should aim the highest because your rock bottom anyway
this was the the the character of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam that when the people around him they needed leadership not only did he show them that yeah he could the prophet could have said yes don't worry don't worry you know we're going to be okay we're going to be okay don't even look set your aim even higher
you know that the poem that we had they you know leave it in and really it goes to show
how the true leadership was you know these things people they they cite they do cite the battles they do cite these things but these gems priceless gems that we're the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam yes they've got all this threat but he is he is he is helping he's cultivating the spirit and raising the bar of ambition saying yeah you're worried about ratfan
and these people there's the puri you know we've got the whole world ahead of us and i can see it already don't you see it this is the resilience that whatever you're facing in life you can take heed you can take a lesson from the life of the prophet salallahu that look you know maybe like and it goes back to what we were saying earlier on you could be at the lowest of the low and you know what since you're rock
bottom anyway i'm gonna at this state envisage the highest i'm gonna see it in my mind's eye i'm gonna do a visual dua gonna see it you're talking i'm like oh i've seen 10 times 10 times better than what i was or what i was expecting i've already seen it do you not see it
ah these this is i want to share that from the seerah of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam may it be of some benefit to us all shukran i'm going to share the link i saw um i'm going to write what's that question okay right anybody people don't spam with your questions or thoughts if you do you will get blocked
let me just copy this link out and whoa i guess there you go i've shared the link alright all right people what's going on what's going on what's this somebody's asking talking about the israeli
please talk about allah please talk about allah says oh right allah says yeah another time no much love for the superchat or ideally appreciated right right back at you may allah keep you blessed and smiling all right okay well i've shared the link somebody just must forgot there you go i've shared it again
all right so um please answer my question [Laughter] god knows what your question is i need to figure that part out first
whoa i don't know what the question ah what is going on please summarize the evidences evidence is for what what is the proof that polygamy polygyny is unrestricted look just i've got old videos on this you can just watch it um don't worry about it i really doubt you're going to
i really doubt it's a practical issue where you're going to be worried about having 10 wives at one time [Laughter] ah let's make the awful prothetal king see after all you're doing it king you're doing it so so i'm going to subscribe to your patreon membership to discuss the permissibility on crypto yeah sure people do you know the patreon so if i bring this up here and show okay so if you see there's the patreon
forward slash malm now people do use the perspective sessions for different things there's some people who they deal with things like uh they have they just want guidance on matters and they want a connection and and they want that so the perspective session gives them that they have a session once a month some people it's it's personal issues um we want to discuss and it has that so it kind of serves as just guidance and i suppose helping them
there's certain people who are going through trauma and that's something that you know i help them with so this obviously i might my approach to stuff like that is i have a background in psychology but i use a very kind of an integrated model on that different things different so there's there's obviously the the islamic perspective but there's the general understanding psychological perspective cbt nlp different things really but there's just guiding them through that to some people it's just they have certain islamic topics that they just want my time
they just want to kind of discuss with me on a one-on-one certain issues i've had people discuss bukhari gate with me i've had people discuss other you know just they're researching something which they know and they just want my time for that hour that they get and yeah so it's different things some people it's just different questions they just want that it's open you know i'm very flexible on um on how how it helps the person best i don't know what's happening
all right so yeah because it you know it plus it allows it allows me to take the person seriously as well because i know somebody's serious you see i can't just you know the amount i could i won't i could show you like the messages i get daily i don't even check a lot of the other i do check instagram very regularly and very punctually if i can and you know people will be like oh mostly what's this give me all the evidences on this what's all the evidences on this what's all the evidence i mean come on youtube search my videos i've probably answered most of this stuff but
i can't just be doing that you know people say to me mufti is this permissible to do this or is this haram so i might say you know i don't believe it's haram or you know this is according to this view there's a difference of opinion these people say this now they may say okay what's the difference is and what's all of this and what i i've got time to educate you on an entire i can't give you like a a presentation on you know what what determines haram between these different schools why have the malikia said this so i have that somebody asked me something i said well i'm going to the maliki's oh this is fine you're not going to this or go into
this it isn't but why well now obviously it's going to take me like an hour to explain that to you i haven't got time to do that so and i'm not going to do that i'm just being honest like let's be real i'm not going to do that because yeah you can search some of my videos i've probably got answers already and maybe i'll do a show on it someday but i'm not just going to do this for each person that asks me a question just because they i admire that they want to learn but they need to then learn or fair enough they they have an opportunity to book a one-on-one consultation session and tk you know there i can explain to them um at length that what they want
and plus i think you know with some people it's nice as well because you know with some people they want to just have a kind of relationship and and that that that's actually very uh you know that's that's very thoughtful and it's also very meaningful for me as well because i because i guess people watch me and to them it's like they know me but i don't really know them so it's like imagine you watch me for like one two years or three years and you people watch me some of these people watch me regularly so it's like they're used to me they're used to my
i don't know my catchphrase is they're used to my mannerisms they're used to my quirks they're used to my almost my personality and it's like they know me like a friend this is what it feels like and and that's that's and i love that but the truth is like i obviously don't know them so imagine i met them so sometimes some people and they'll be like and they'll be like i'm a friend like they they'll behave like that but to me i i'll i'll be kind of just kind of caught off guard because it's like it's the first time i'm seeing you i don't know who you are i don't know
and it's it's wonderful to do that as well because i then get to know these people get to know about them what's their story and you know you have this kind of relationship i guess uh you're still too mysterious oh there must be mystique in life ah there must always
there must always be some some things that are kept in a veil but you see so right mr yoso there must be never right let me check have i got some somebody i've got somebody online here i didn't notice did i share i shared the link to my you know what let me i'll share the link again and i'll i think we've got it's this casper it says casper let me share this oh and
casper let me bring you on live casper hello hello how are you i all of a sudden i was thinking should i should i lie down as well on how are you doing casper where are you from
about islam but i do have friends for a muslim so um it's it's all you know this i i'm i'm fantastic alhamdulillah i you know it's all a it's a it's a path of learning for each and all and anyone who says they they have learned it it's done you know they are clearly are not acquainted with the path and and i think the fact that you have a a curiosity uh and a compassion you know you said look i have friends and you obviously have an interest in faith that's uh huge it speaks for are you
yourself muslim or are you i was born hindu okay wow i'm from uh india originally before we moved to australia but i got what part of india uh south india a place called kerala kerala of do and course uh it wasn't kerala traditionally uh um was it malibar or a malabar yeah that's a place in kerala yeah it isn't because i think traditionally they um they would refer to it as malibar or uh because there's certain scholars from
there as well al-malibari and in the past but yeah it has a very you know kerala has a um it has a very interesting from what i hear uh dynamic with because there's a lot of uh peaceful coexistence between different people yeah there's hindus muslims and christians we all get along and it has and he has a long uh history of migrants and arabs to the extent that there's some there's certain certain part which still consider themselves to be from that offspring and i believe even still speak some kind of arabic till today yes that's true that's
true yeah that's true isn't it yeah yeah wow sounds so cool though kerala but you know it is surprising that it is surprising that uh i mean i say surprising to to to people who don't know that you see in southern india they don't generally speak hindi they don't speak that's true we speak malayalam in kerala yeah so yeah and it's it's because you know and somebody because i i have some uh uh some clients as well and some some other people i know from uh kerala and it's interesting that
sometimes you would uh say something in hindi and you'd expect you know there's just this subconscious expectation that they understand because they because they're indian and and that they they don't understand and so it'd be okay of course they don't speak indeed they speak uh malayalam and other languages yeah wow but it's it's honestly it's truly an honor to to have you here
yeah yeah so yeah so tell us what tell us about yourself yeah um well what would you talk would you like to know about my religious experiences or just in life in general because because you were mentioning that you were from you you were saying before i interrupted that you were saying that you're from south uh south india and you you came to or you were born in australia no no my parents moved here at when i was at around the age of eight uh pipe sorry so we grew up you said you were hindu and you converted to christianity yes that's correct yeah um probably like four four five years ago now
so yeah and because i did have uh when i was growing up i did study in a catholic school and so i guess that's what um made me quite curious about christianity but my friends have been talking about how muhammad is the last prophet and i was like i don't know much about this so he was like he recommended your channel he said you're doing a live stream and they said ask ask the man he probably would be able to help you with your questions i'm on it and i'm i'm flattered and i'm on it uh yeah i mean you see you see you know when a person thinks of
christianity what leaps right at you is the message of love and the message of jesus christ you know allah peace and blessings upon him and and really what islam is islam is and it characterizes itself historically as this and even in the quran that it is a continuation of this message which jesus was a continuation himself of the message before him and he was there to say well you know people you guys you know you
people the the the pharisees and the and the sadducees that these people they they've got the message the high priest but they have lost themselves in the letter of the law and they've forgotten the spirit of god and this is why in islam he is referred to isa alaihissalam often as allah as the spirit of god and it's fascinating you know there's a fascinating play on words as well because you see because at the same time it also it extends that bridge to the christian community because they also see him you know that this notion of the
the holy spirit and there's this notion now although it's it's kind of extending a vernacular or a rhetoric that resonates and finds some kind of receptivity but this islam sees itself as a continuation of this abrahamic message and this is why many people you know even fred donna for example professor fred donner writes in his book muhammad amongst the believers shows that many early communities around the prophet's time and just after
him that encountered muslims including i have this amazing book um it's really honestly it's a must get it's called um it's by ah right it'll just come to me but it's called islam um islam as they saw it or islam in the eyes of this is huge let me bring it up i it's seeing islam as other soy is is that the one not seeing islam's other soy
uh that's by let me just check who that's by uh author right that's it yes robert hoyland that's the one yeah now this honestly it's a fantastic book where he speaks about it's called a survey and evaluation of christian jewish and zoroastrian writings on early islam and what he shows is these are records from uh neighboring diverse disparate communities who were not muslim so certain bishops for example but were literate or zoroastrians who when they encountered muslims and we're not just
talking about wars and battles but we're talking about the human experience interaction they write about them so they may say hey we came across these people they are and it's interesting how many of them describe muslims as as a kind of christian because they themselves are so so that they they've encountered christians before but haven't encountered muslims so when they see them they say hmm these seem to be an offshoot of christianity and of of the judeo-christians or some say like an offshoot of uh judaism and christianity who seem to be
but yeah but that's just to show how complimentary the whole message in essence is but yeah are there certain questions that you had about this topic in general oh yes i had like the most important one was i have never read the crime but would it be okay to start up with the english version first to have an understanding of what has been said absolutely i mean that's uh it definitely it's it's not just okay it's i think it's amazing to do that because really this is the message now bearing in mind that naturally that there are things that are lost in
translation and there and translation by any in any language will always detract from the overall experience of reading something but it can capture without a doubt some um significant kind of heartfelt uh connection to the message to the actual what's being what's being said so yeah absolutely and yeah read it and and and i would say look read it with an open mind and an open heart yeah and ultimately you see the quran i say to people
that they treat they treat scripture like like textbook but i agree with professors like karen armstrong who says scripture should be treated like art it's about read it and the experience that you get the way it it will strike at your at the heartstrings the way it will send tremors into the soul the way it will captivate and electrify that experience this is it is quran you know it is this is it is something in
its even in its name a a recital so this is what i say and and and just you know just just absorb it and if you have questions of course you're more than welcome to to reach out um and that's what i would say that's my the the message of the prophet muhammad sallallahu is one that celebrates the message of jesus christ peace be upon him and it was one that came to to spread because you see the prophet
the prophet jesus he even to the christians to the christians because the early christians were just jewish people they weren't you know they were not gentiles they would just choose and jesus being jewish so you see after jesus the apostles are at a crossroad they don't know you see there's this debate do we take this to the gentiles because isn't jesus his message and his his good news you know he's glad tidings
he's bushra his kind of his gospel isn't this for everyone and they kind of agreed that yeah it should be for everyone but then they then they they find themselves at loggerheads that wait a minute but isn't he the law isn't this what he brought just for the jews and the other thing okay maybe we can give the glad tidings but we shouldn't they don't need to follow by the jewish law because this is just jews and this is why you get the whole the debate with you know between saint peter you'll get saint james and different people so because the question was that jesus
himself was dealing with the jewish community and in the quran he is reminded uh he he is quoted as saying you know that uh he says that yabani oh israelites oh people of israel and he's dealing with their problems he's not addressing even in the gospels he's not addressing wrong and he's not trying to you know he's not trying to say that he's saying look let them be given to render on to caesar what belongs to caesar you know he doesn't want to get involved with with
and you see that even though christianity does spread and they do have that debate that should we take it to everyone yes we should but then okay we won't take the laws we'll just take the good news and but you see with the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam that was that was the kind of seal that was being awaited that look then that the address the address itself that who we are addressing what i mean by addresses the the the people the audience is to go worldwide and the prophet in his uh final years i
believe in year six seven he then writes to the kingdoms he writes to these other uh and he writes previously as well he writes to rome he writes to to the sassanid empire rights to sense these message of just simple aslim tesla you know and it's amazing that wallahi that just the message of islam is to be embody peace you will be peaceful you know what a message you know it's not asking for you know people say oh the prophet was there trying to say control trying to say pay money try to we
you know he says islam you know that's this is the message and and so and and the quran really qualifies and it it carves the character of the prophet sallam it wraps it in in this in in in these mesmerizingly beautiful words that we haven't sent you except as a mercy for the world and what i would say is that don't get too this is my i don't know this is just a random kind of i don't know i'm just
sprinkling some random two cents here um that i wouldn't concern myself too much with muslims i would if for a person what i mean by that let me just qualify that is is in trying to observe them to learn about islam i wouldn't i would if i'm interested or intrigued by a message i would look at the message you see like if i was interested in health i wouldn't just observe gps and doctors because you're going to look at this
doctor and he's probably smoking and that doctor is probably completely out of shape and this doctor's probably had a heart attack himself and they stop you know that's not how we if you look at people and i love what um um timothy winter is what dr washer uh says and he's an amazing you know somebody who came to islam and he's at a beacon of of knowledge and inspiration for people he says that you know he says when i learned about islam he says i didn't he says i never knew a single muslim like i never went to any muslims
and and he says you know in hindsight i'm really glad he says because i i started to he's him too he says i started to read the quran i said to do these things i just fell in love with it and he says that you know what he says i never observed muslims i never debated with muslims i never i just read it and i thought wow and then when i was ready for it he says i actually went to muslims and and he says and then i'm so glad because one muslims tried to say oh you better become a part of this sect and you better become a part of this and he says that you know i'm just so glad i found it before i found muslims because if it had been the other way around i
don't know where i'd be and i really those words of his are so i mean they they bring a smile to our face but they are so valuable but yes so uh that's what that's what i would say uh somebody just posted here saying eddie griffin the comedian said the same thing he said christians and muslims argue about who's the true messenger but says did you get the message [Laughter] that is absolutely but yeah so caspar was any thought i'm i'm i'm honored with with your presence today and you're coming thank you so much for having me no yeah i will definitely i'll
