As-salamu alaykum, gems from the Quran, juz one. This portion begins with Fatiha, opens the longest sura of the Quran, Surat al-Baqarah, begins with the theme of guidance, ends on a verse of individual responsibility. Its central theme is turning back to God. It tells us of those who went before us and how many opportunities they had to turn back to Allah. It has the story of sacrificing the cow.

0:27

It has the story of man's fall, and Adam alayhis salam, how he turns back to Allah. It has the story of Sulaiman, falsely accused, alayhis salam. It has the leading to the story of Ibrahim alayhis salam building the Kaaba, a place we repetitively turn to as a symbol of turning to God. One of the verses that stands out is walillahil mashriq wal maghrib fa'aynama tuwallu fathamma wajhullah.

To Allah belongs everything. If you turn to him, you shall surely find him. Salamullah alaykum.
