What does Yasir Qadhi say about the claim that the return of Jesus came from Judeo-Christian sources?
Qadhi's clip calls the claim that the return of Jesus entered Islam from Judeo-Christian sources through Wahb, Ka'b or al-Zuhri a preposterous charge without evidence that would mean the faith was corrupted and the ummah misguided for fourteen centuries. Mufti Abu Layth asks listeners to remember these words.

Did Yasir Qadhi himself say a hadith came into Islam from Jewish sources through Abu Hurayra?
Qadhi's clip endorses Ibn Kathir's view that the Gog and Magog report is defective and came from Israelite material through Abu Hurayra and Ka'b al-Ahbar. Mufti Abu Layth calls this hypocrisy, since Qadhi called the same claim about the Jesus reports preposterous.

Did Yasir Qadhi himself say a hadith came into Islam from Jewish lore?
Mufti Abu Layth says Qadhi is inconsistent: he calls Israelite origins for the return preposterous, yet with Ibn Kathir firmly believes the Gog and Magog report came from Israelite lore through Abu Hurayra's circle.

Why does the Quran give so little detail about some prophets?
The guest says the brief, repeated stories are archetypes recalled to console the Prophet, which audiences already knew; Mufti Abu Layth argues that following an archetype does not show a story was invented.

Why did most commentators say God commanded the sacrifice?
Ibn Abbas is reported to have read Ibrahim's words as 'I think I have been commanded', and some commentators say the relief itself was the test. Mufti Abu Layth attributes the common view to early Muslims absorbing Jewish narratives.

If God never commanded the sacrifice, why do the early sources all say he did?
Mufti Abu Layth agrees that no primary sources support his reading and explains it by early Muslims absorbing Israelite material, by the brutal environment of the age being projected onto God, and by the absence of anything from the Prophet saying God commanded it. He repeats that a God who stages a mock execution of a child is unacceptable, and that Allah never says the command was his.

Israiliyyat in hadith: man in God's image and creation on the Sabbath
Reports such as man created in God's image and creation on the Sabbath are Biblical material that Malik and Ibn Taymiyya rejected; Mufti Abu Layth says the Jesus narrative shows the same Israiliyyat influence.
