**Topics:** Exchanges with Yasir Qadhi; The second coming of Jesus; The Maliki school

**Summary (not a quotation; machine-made, unchecked):** Yasir Qadhi argues in the clip that the return of Jesus is established by mutawatir hadith and affirmed by the great Maliki scholars, so a Maliki cannot deny it. Mufti Abu Layth sets out the points he will answer.

## Longer summary

Mufti Abu Layth returns to Yasir Qadhi and plays a clip in which Qadhi says there are mutawatir hadith on the return of Jesus, that it became a standard motif in dozens of works of Sunni theology, and asks how anyone can claim allegiance to the Maliki school and deny the return when the great Maliki scholars affirmed it, calling the claim that Imam Malik did not hold it a huge one. In the clip Qadhi says only philosophers and those who believe in no religion deny it, associates the denial with the school of Muhammad Abduh, which he describes as sceptical of miracles, of the signs of the Day of Judgment and of hadith, and calls the matter a criterion between belief and disbelief. Mufti frames this as the next part of his series and lists the points he will answer: that one cannot be Maliki and deny the return, that it is a huge claim that Imam Malik did not believe it, and that hadith cannot be questioned.
