**Topics:** The Mufti and the channel; Personal stories and reflections

**Summary (not a quotation; machine-made, unchecked):** Mufti Abu Layth picks Birmingham over London and handles housekeeping in the chat.

## Longer summary

Asked Birmingham or London, Mufti Abu Layth says definitely Birmingham: London has class in the name, but it is congested, hard to drive and park in, and extraordinarily overpriced compared with a city of over a million where one can still buy a semi-detached house. He reacts with interest to a claim about an Indian actor's Husseini Brahmin lineage, asks the chat not to abuse the moderators, asks who a politician a viewer mentions is, and explains what a super chat is.

## Transcript (machine tier, 2:46:42–2:49:56)

[2:46:17] It's always better. I mean, look, I say these things, these are my views about look how I see the world and stuff, but look, even if you don't, you don't need to see it my way. Younger generations see it differently. You know, it's their stab, you know, it's their life. It's their world. It's a different world. I It's all good. It's all good.

[2:46:41] Uh Birmingham or London? Definitely Brum Braum town it is people. Definitely. You know London is just the name I give it to that you know London when it comes to the name. It just there's class in the name. You know where are you from? I'm from London. [laughter] There is you know some things just have class to the name.

[2:47:06] London has that with it, the name, but the actual lifestyle, I I I don't think, you know, it's just way too um congested. There's uh if if you love driving, it's horrible. You can't park anywhere. Roads, it's ironic because the roads are so crammed. They're so small. You know, many of the residential roads, it's like ridiculous.

[2:47:33] and they want it's like a one-way street except it's two ways but really only one car can fit on it because parking on both sides. So it's like if a car comes from that side just causes everything to it's a nightmare and I think it's just designed to keep people on the tube and I don't know I I honestly don't that's the aspect of it I don't like. It's overpriced. Obviously, much of the UK is overpriced, but London is extraordinarily overpriced.

[2:48:04] I mean, you could live in a semi- detached house in Birmingham, which is the second city of the entire United Kingdom. It's a huge city, Birmingham. It's not small. It's like over a million people live here, but still you could buy a semi- detached house here. [laughter] Or you could buy like a poor mason like a very poor half a house or terrorist house [laughter] in London.

[2:48:30] I mean that's the difference. Wow. Cool guys. I think somebody said the Indian actor Sanjay Dat is a Husseini Brahmin. Wow. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, wow, that uh it's interesting. Uh we're ina she look at this.

[2:48:58] I'm going to There you go. No abusing the mods. Okay. No abusing anyone on my thing. There you go. Got put in timeout. Miy, my super chat. I'm sure I answered all the super chats. Yeah. Uh, right. Let's go on to Can you invite uh Howie Hawkins? Howie Hawkins? Who is Howie Hawkins?

[2:49:26] [laughter] Anthony, you harami. [laughter] I can't read his question out. People, it's not appropriate. You know this one. What's a super chat? Super chat is these these wonderful people sending [laughter] they send a super chat right on YouTube.

[2:49:55] Let me find somebody says can you recite the Quran in the shower? you I mean you physically can but it's very bad etiquette to do something like look the Quran is has a sanctity to it. I don't mean if you just subconsciously kind of you know just by habit recite something that's different but I mean you intentionally okay I'm going to now recite the Quran whilst I have a scrub.
