**Topics:** The second coming of Jesus; Text criticism, reason and the Quran; Exchanges with Yasir Qadhi

**Summary (not a quotation; machine-made, unchecked):** Qadhi's clip concedes that one early authority held Jesus died a natural death, and answers the objection that the return reports are irrational, Jesus killing pigs and refusing jizya, with 'Allah said so' and the claim that there will be no middle category between Islam and the Dajjal.

## Longer summary

The clip says the onus of proof is on those making the claim, and that all these figures view Jesus as having died on this earth and so deny he was raised alive; Qadhi says the interpretation that Jesus died a natural death is very obscure in early Islam but not unknown, one early authority having held that he died and will come back alive. Mufti Abu Layth notes that Qadhi now admits one person held this after claiming that nobody denied the return. The clip takes up the objection that the reports do not make sense, why Jesus would kill pigs, refuse the jizya and not allow kufr to remain when everyone is free to choose, and answers that the response to all these whys is that Allah said so, and that it actually makes sense: the level of kufr at that point means one is either a Muslim or on the side of the Dajjal with no middle category, so far from being illogical it is completely logical. Mufti replays the passage so that the audience does not miss it.

[32:31] you see this to me is the far bigger problem than denying the return of jesus and that is the destruction of the epistemology of islam that's really what it is which is why this is uh uh somewhat of a dangerous topic to to get involved with much later that this group is bringing forth such a preposterous claim but they have zero evidence and the onus of proof is on them to bring not us well then what is left of preservation of our theology right so that's a very very dangerous point to make all view jesus as having died on this earth and so they deny that jesus was raised

[33:11] up alive right and so obviously when you don't believe that jesus is still alive then obviously there is no return and so the interpretation of jesus having been killed is something that is um very obscure in early islam but it is not unknown no sorry not killed natural death died natural death it is not unknown there's one tab one person who disagreed so one person he's claimed nobody denied his return one early authority had an interpretation in which he said jesus died a natural death and then he shall come back alive so right that these reports don't make any sense

[33:49] why would jesus kill pigs what have pigs done to have them killed so here he's briefly tackling you know what is it irrational so what's the uh can we can that be a an issue that it's irrational why would jesus not accept jizya why will jesus not uh allow kufur to remain when freedom is everybody is allowed to choose you know if you want to remain muslim or not from insha'allah uh why this why that

[34:19] what am i doing almost making you guys miss it one moment there it is and the response to all of an interpretation in which he said jesus died a natural death and then he shall come back alive so right that these reports don't make any sense why would jesus kill pigs what have pigs done to have them killed why will jesus not accept jizya why will jesus not allow kufur to remain when freedom is everybody's allowed to choose you know if you want to remain muslim or not from insha'allah why this why that and the response to all of these whys

[34:56] is that well allah said so you think so the claim that jizya is not going to be accepted the claim that you're either going to be a muslim or you're going to be with the judge it actually makes sense the level of kufur that you're going to have to have you're going to be on the side of the jab there's not going to be any middle category after that so in reality far from being illogical this is completely logical so all of these therefore it's pretty straightforward to state and i don't do this is not something i usually do but it is pretty straightforward therefore that anybody who denies the return of jesus by virtue of the fact
