**Topics:** The second coming of Jesus; Mutawatir and certainty; Exchanges with Yasir Qadhi

**Summary (not a quotation; machine-made, unchecked):** Qadhi's clip calls the claim that the return of Jesus entered Islam from Judeo-Christian sources through Wahb, Ka'b or al-Zuhri a preposterous charge without evidence that would mean the faith was corrupted and the ummah misguided for fourteen centuries. Mufti Abu Layth asks listeners to remember these words.

## Longer summary

In the clip Qadhi says this group claims that belief in the return of Jesus emanated from Judeo-Christian sources, through figures such as Wahb [?], Ka'b or al-Zuhri, and slowly crept in until it became mainstream, and he calls this a huge, preposterous claim without the slightest evidence. Mufti Abu Layth asks the audience to remember these words, since he will come back to them. Qadhi asks how a claim of such magnitude can be made without a shred of evidence when there are over seventy-five hadith and many companions, and which is more likely, that all those companions heard it from the Prophet or that they heard it from Wahb and ascribed it to him. He says the implications are mind-boggling: it means the faith was corrupted at the most basic level, the whole ummah misguided for fourteen centuries, and a Judeo-Christian belief became the ijma of the ummah and tawatur hadith, which to him is the destruction of Islamic epistemology and a far bigger problem than denying the return.

## Transcript (machine tier, 30:17–32:51)

[30:07] this group is willing to claim that the belief of jesus christ is a theology that emanated from judeo-christian sources from the likes of wahhabi or or maybe even or some of them say ibrahim zuri it it emanated from these people and it slowly crept in until it became a mainstream belief of the ummah now the response is that that's a huge claim that lacks even the slightest backing or evidence how can anybody make such a preposterous claim people remember these words okay i come back to these words

[30:47] okay these are these are that these people claim that this crept in through judeo-christian sources maybe through abu huraira maybe through zohari maybe through maybe through other people maybe it was a mission but it crept in this is possible remember people remember remember okay

[31:13] without bringing up any proof or evidence so we have over 75 different hadith and we're going to do about the other sahaba how about this how can it even other sahaba is mentioned claim be made of such a huge magnitude without a shred of evidence which one is more likely that all of these sahaba heard it from the prophet sallallahu alaihi or that they all heard it from wahhab or and then they ascribed it to the prophet saw i mean which one is more likely right so again uh and and there's another point

[31:52] by the way that needs to be said here subhanallah to claim that a judeo-christian belief was introduced into the ummah and it became not just mainstream but the default position for the entire muslim ummah basically your the implications are mind-boggling you are claiming that our faith has been corrupted at the most basic level and that the entirety of the ummah has been misguided for 14 centuries and claimed that it was introduced by judo christian sources and it became ijma of the ummah and it became tawatur hadith

[32:31] you see this to me is the far bigger problem than denying the return of jesus and that is the destruction of the epistemology of islam that's really what it is which is why this is uh uh somewhat of a dangerous topic to to get involved with much later that this group is bringing forth such a preposterous claim but they have zero evidence and the onus of proof is on them to bring not us well then what is left of preservation of our theology right so that's a very very dangerous point to make all view jesus as having died on this earth and so they deny that jesus was raised
