**Topics:** The second coming of Jesus; Mutawatir and certainty; Exchanges with Yasir Qadhi

**Summary (not a quotation; machine-made, unchecked):** Qadhi's clip claims the hadith of the return are too numerous to discount, narrated from about ten companions, held to be mutawatir and found in dozens of theological works, including those of the Maliki school's leading figures. Mufti Abu Layth responds with sarcasm and says the reply is still to come.

## Longer summary

The clip moves to the hadith, which Qadhi says make the matter crystal clear and leave no ambiguity: the reports are too numerous to discount, the most authentic being in Sahih Muslim, they are narrated from around ten companions including Abu Hurayra, Jabir and Ibn Mas'ud, and multiple scholars have claimed that the hadith of the return are mutawatir. Mufti Abu Layth interjects that doubt has been killed, that there may be doubt in God but none in this, and explains with heavy sarcasm that mutawatir means it is inconceivable that the report could be false. Qadhi cites the tafsir of al-Samarqandi [?] and al-Jassas [?] among many works, says the return is found in dozens of works of Sunni theology, and tells any Malikis in the audience that these are the dons of the Maliki school, asking how anyone can claim allegiance to the Maliki madhhab and deny the return. Mufti responds with mock outrage directed at himself and his Maliki audience, then replays the point.
