**Summary (not a quotation; machine-made, unchecked):** Mufti Abu Layth opens the last Monday Night before Ramadan, says either start date for Ramadan is fine, and suggests a viewers' get-together once Covid restrictions lift.

## Longer summary

Mufti Abu Layth checks the sound, greets viewers and says he had been unwell for a day or two and had overslept after a nap, nearly missing the last Monday Night before Ramadan. He notes a chat question on whether dalk, rubbing the limbs while washing, is still necessary with running water as a good question without answering it, and jokes about how fast his beard and nails grow. He says some viewers will begin Ramadan on Tuesday and some on Wednesday, that this is nothing to become entangled in, and that he will begin on Wednesday with his local mosques and family. Asked about an iftar for viewers, he says Covid restrictions on gatherings in England still apply, and floats a residential weekend once they end, recalling one held in 2015 and saying it would need organisers.

[0:28] bye all right people alright whoa in alhamdulillah what my

[1:50] deal with them let me just check on facebook too can you guys frody fushi you doing it you're doing it hannah alright zamani let me just check right i take it it's all going through fine anyway god damn i had actually been knocked out i mean i'd been i've taken you know what it's just been a strange last one two days i had uh i don't know

[2:28] eaten something and just wasn't feeling well and um and then recuperating so which is all good alhamdulillah so my schedule had kind of got knocked completely into orbit and today then i thought all right now that the gyms are open i have to go and bless uh grace them come back and you know what i just ah there's just this and i thought let me just take a little nap and then hopefully you know the last of whatever this is this kind of like

[3:08] there's a malaise this is kind of like um and then i was just knocked out i was just completely out for the count and it's a good thing i i got up because actually i didn't my little one said oh what day is it isn't it monday nights with mufti i was like right so here i am people with the coffee

[3:37] so my bad my bad i thought you know what for a split second i thought oh you know what uh then i thought oh my god it's the last one before ramadan so i have to yejib i gotta make this so people you do and it you do and it much love much love let me just bring up the comments as well as zerati you're doing it you're doing it that's that look at that right there zarate is always on on the ball

[4:23] see now i'm starting to recognize some of these names do you think dulk is still necessary in a world with high pressure running water good question good question um imam love you yeah love all of you guys in fact i want to go through that you know this i want to go through the love i've received something very uh it's it's an appreciation kind of um

[5:02] collation i guess of different people uh put together by some of you guys right here uh so rosa shukran for that i dearly appreciate it and i was just going through and i thought you know what let me read this on the live why not man this is all your love just putting it back out there to you guys so uh ramadan kareem likewise people uh am i growing my ramadan beard you know i'd like to say yes

[5:37] yeah i guess so let's just go with that that sounds a lot better but i mean actually i was a bit out of it this weekend and then my hair just grows so fast you know honestly i that would be i mean like that would be like two two and a half days it'd be like that's just like a full beard isn't it obviously i'm like what the hell is going on my hair grows fast my nails grow super fast you know honestly i it's annoying because it'll be like uh you know they'll they'll look real like i've just cut them it's been like what four five

[6:15] five days six they'll look like really long again and i'll be like god yeah same thing with the i don't know what it is it's one of those uh genetic mutations i must have ramadan mubarak ramadan there is a whole discussion on whether i mean people some of you may be doing ramadan tomorrow some of you may be doing it on wednesday it's all good it's all good it's not you know something to really become kind of all

[6:55] uh i don't know entangled in negatively it's all good it's all good i thought you know what with today being this monday night before ramadan let's deal with what's on your mind people what's preoccupying your thoughts well i was going to do ramadan as in tonight as in tuesday but then in birmingham i think many mosques are doing it on wednesday and then i suppose

[7:34] a lot of my family as an extended kind of family my parents and and and other people are kind of doing it on wednesday so i'm just going with that why not and and while i it gives me an extra day i'd i'd rather not lie but lying is haram according to people so but i was initially planning on it being tonight

[8:07] ramadan mubarak mufti shukran i see sarasota are you going to organize an iftar for your fans i definitely would and will but the problem is that coveted lockdown restrictions still remain on numbers within gatherings so even though they've eased up today in the in in england they've eased up so you gyms are open and non-essential shops are open but they still have restrictions on groups so i think it's still something like six to a gathering and stuff oh i don't know i think if it's an open place a bit more but it's not like full-on back on so even people trying to do weddings

[8:47] and stuff like that they're not still very limited numbers but once all of this ends i'm gonna throw a massive one don't worry i'll i'll do the usual the arc one you know what everybody come down man you know i you know what we need to arrange a um what do we call it uh like a residential i need to arrange like a weekend spa somewhere i think i think that would be that would be awesome wouldn't it

[9:19] just book out a nice place could have like a conference room and maybe some very chilled kind of sessions not really even said just some get together and just let people chill i guess i don't know i think that sounds so good but i don't know if that would work if there were so many people because or or what number of people would that work with that's a better question and in such a setting what you see because being structured would just kill the vibe because if it's

[9:58] something like a a lounging chilling um or unless it's just a you have to do it in a non-spot so it's just a residential yeah i supposed to do that as well um that could work as well i don't know i got a it's been years since i've thought about these things actually like a residential i remember we did one in what was it 2015 we did a and it was good it was fun and

[10:36] but i i remember at the time thinking this could have been so much better and yeah that's food for thought people food for thought food for thought but then i'll need some people to organize it let's take a look what's preoccupying your precious thoughts people mufti what's for sahari well since i'm not doing it now today but otherwise there is salan as always i think is it and
